Overall, I am pretty happy with the Black and Decker 4-slice toaster with extra-wide slots. The black and silver color is very nice and matches my kitchen and other small appliances on the counter very well. I love that the slots are wide enough to fit a bagel or thick bread, without feeling like it's jammed into the slot. The larger items are easy to pull out of the slots once toasted as well. I like that it has a cancel button, but it did take me a little while to even notice it inside the toasting settings knob. There are plenty of toasting settings – ranging from 1 through 7. There is a bagel setting which is nice if you like your bagels toasted a certain way. There is also a frozen button for when you're toasting frozen foods. The cord is a good length and can easy reach the outlet from anywhere on my counter. Having 4 slots is great because we can toast more items at one time. The quality seems great and it's a brand I trust. I would definitely recommend this toaster to anyone looking for a 4-slice toaster that has a classic look to it and functions very well!

This is a nice toaster and it does what it's intended to do. I love that you can make four pieces of toast at once. There's a bagel button, a 1-7 button for how brown you want your toast, and a defrost button. The crumb trays are on the bottom and they're easy to empty. It makes good toast.

I received this product as a member of the walmart spark reviewer program. This toaster is great because its features are quite useful. The fact that it has four slots means you can toast two sets of bread slices at once on not have to go twice. Furthermore, the slots are very wide so you can toast bagels (big ones; sliced or not), you can even toast a with the breads on the outside and heat the pieces in the middle without charing it. The toaster is also light weight despite its size so it is very easy to to move around the kitchen as needed. Although the weight makes you question the durability but time will tell.One of the issues is the smell it makes when toasting. the smells is non bread like and this has occurred during the first couple of uses. Maybe it will dissipate. The shiny metal design is nice and the labels are very clear and it makes the toaster easy to use. This toaster also gives the option to toast frozen items, which my wife said is very useful as you can toast frozen bread.I recommend this product.

The Black and Decker four slice toaster is an attractive and extremely well designed appliance. It operates well, and I finally looking forward to having evenly toasted bread and bagels. I'll also like the nicely browned waffles and English muffins it can toast. For the last several years we went to a toaster oven. While the little oven is great for small baking jobs, it does a poor job as a toaster. The Black and Decker toaster will hold the items to be toasted in the center of the heating element. The extra wide slots have self-adjusting guides hug the item to be toasted in the very center of the slot causing both sides to be browned evenly. The controls are easy to use and situated center each lift lever. There is a bagel and muffin knob as well as a "frozen" button that is great for those frozen waffles. Beneath the toaster are tabs on each corner that allow the cord to be wound up. I find this to be a problem, though, and so I just tuck the cord behind the toaster when it is not in use. Also on the bottom are two easy to open and close crumb doors cleaning. The toaster is very attractive with a brushed stainless steel front and polished stainless top. The sides and rear are a shiny black plastic. It looks good sitting out on our counter. Other than the cord winder the toaster is first class.

This is a very nice toaster with wide slots making it easier to toast bagels, Texas toast, and other thick breads or breakfast pastries. I love that it has four slots because we are a household of four and everything is a competition with my kids....now things can be toasted together and no one gets to “be first.” I like the room temp versus frozen settting,y also. This makes for ease of not having to toast frozen foods twice to ensure that they're properly heated. I make a low carb bread and this does great with getting it toasted evenly. Prior to this toaster, I'd been using a toaster oven. I'd have to flip the bread for an even toast (often times forgetting while doing other things). This toaster makes everything simple. It's pretty, easy to operate, and works as expected. It is a big wide as far as counter space goes, so I'll probably store it with my cookware and pull it out as needed. Also, the toaster came packaged nicely and properly insured that there would be no damage during transit.

So far I really like and enjoy the BLACK+DECKER 4-Slice Toaster with Extra-Wide Slots, Black/Silver, TR1478BD and it has been a great new addition to my kitchen. The clean black and silver design is contemporary and matches most any kitchen color scheme. I like the functionality that matches another Black+Decker toaster I have recently used. I like the seven timed shade settings instead of the traditional sliding scale. I also like the push-button setting for thicker items like bagels as well as settings for frozen items such as frozen waffles. It also has controls for frozen items and a very helpful one for ending toasting. The extra lift lever is wonderful as it pushes the toasted item a little higher and makes it easier to grab and remove from the toaster. This is a huge improvement as my current toaster does not have this and I nearly burn my fingers trying to effectively grab the toasted items to remove them from the toaster and put them on a plate. The extra wide slots are great for holding breads, bagels, waffles, and other food items. The drop-down crumb tray is also helpful and easy to use to keep the toaster clean. While I generally prepare breakfast or toast for just myself, I do like having the option to simultaneously toast 4 slices/items. It seems to toast very evenly as some of my prior toasters started having uneven zones where some parts of the bread were almost burned and other parts were very light. I recommend this toaster.

I got this really nice 4 slot toaster by Black & Decker from Walmart Spark Reviewer for free to do a review on it, in exchange for my honest opinion about it and I recommend this toaster. It's got wide slots that you can put a bagel in it without it getting stuck In it. I like that it has 4 slots to make 4 piece of toast at one time. We love toast and bagels. You can put frozen waffles, Frozen french toast, Toaster strussell in this toaster too. You can add all this and more I'm sure. There is a bagel button on this toaster and a frozen button for the items I mentioned above. There's even a cancel button on this toaster too. There's a toast shade selector so you can choose how light or dark you want your bread or Bagels. When you're not using your toaster you can wrap it underneath the toaster. There's little hooks on the bottom of the toaster to wrap the cord around it when not in use. Theres even a crumb door on the bottom of it too, to make it easier to clean it. This is a really nice toaster and yes I recommend it. Here is a couple pictures to show you what it looks like. It comes with a manual too.
