How long does a De'Longhi filter last?
The only filter that needs to be replaced in the De'Longhi ECP3220 Air Purifier is the combination HEPA/Carbon filter. It has a normal life of 6 months, but this depends on your living space and the amount of pollutants in the indoor air. When it's time to change the filter, the checkfilter light on the unit will alert you.

It's not perfect and struggles if you "pack it." I don't think it's getting hot enough though I do get the crema one looks for in an espresso maker. This is an espresso maker that is great to see if you will use it for a year and then replace it with something much nicer. This has been perfect for getting my caffeine needs while quarantining. I will be upgrading in the future though.

I bought this in March to replace a different espresso machine that failed on me. This one was better but sadly it failed in early November. It breaks my heart because I love the crema, but now I'm getting my espresso from a Moka pot. No moving parts, easy to clean, just as flavorful.
Having said that, The machine may last longer for you. I understand it's kind of unpredictable. Be sure you do your scheduled maintenance!

I really had high hopes for the De'Longhi ECP3220W but was so disappointed that I returned within 3 days. This isn’t my first espresso machine so I’m familiar with how to use and I even read over the instructions. The espresso wasn’t hot enough, it was weak, and the milk didn’t froth nicely like it did in my last machine. Even my very first cheap little starter espresso maker pulled a better espresso shot than this.

Very disappointing. I bought this and was so excited for it and it worked great for a month and a half and then it just stopped working. Troubleshot it a bunch with the customer care people and then they just said they would send me a new one. Got the new one and a week after the milk frother stopped making the milk warm. So I’ve given up on this machine sadly. Am getting a refund and returning it and never want to see it again. Big disappointment for such a big name company.

The pump started losing power 5 weeks after purchase and from there, it took 24h and 5 coffee making attempts to go from "is the machine having a hard time this morning?!?" to "damn, not a single drop of coffee is going through the portafilter!!".
I shouldn't have expected that a $120 espresso machine to be anything else than soon-to-be landfill waste.

1. The machine doesn't actually measure out the amount of water per shot, you have to physically turn it off once you think a good amount of coffee is in your cup.
2. The filter is not that easy to remove from its cup to clean
3. twisting the stupid handle to lock in place actually takes some effort, I literally have to hold the machine with one arm and twist the handle into place to get it back in the middle.
But the espresso is pretty good, so I'll keep it I guess

Barely six weeks into owning it, it suddenly stopped working. Unbelievable. I had almost returned it within the 30 days because there’s a couple things I struggled with it (including how the price went down $20 right after buying it) — sure wish I would have now. Had my Krups espresso machine for 15 years — and it didn’t even break, I gave it away! Thought Italians would know their beverage and machines for it best, so figured DeLonghi was the way to go. Guess not. Could be a “one-off” of course — but doesn’t change how disappointed I am. :-<

The pump system on this model has decent pressure & makes better coffee with more control over the steaming of the milk than my previous espresso machine from another manufacturer. Our family makes about (3) lattes a day, only had it for 6 weeks but am pleased thus far with the De'Longhi ECP3220W. As a sidenote, the white finish goes well in our modern kitchen.

This machine was bought to replace my Krups that died and the SOWTECH machine that I returned because it LEAKED from the steamer tube. This machine is AWESOME! I was pleasantly shocked at the professional style coffee the DeLonghi makes vs the other machines I have had. If you love a great cup of coffee, do yourself a big favor and buy this machine. It only costs a little more than the other ones and it is worth it!!!! (it's a little more complicated than the old Krups or the Sowtech but nothing that can't me mastered after a few times making coffee.)

Works great. Perfectly matches my white Baratza grinder and not at all a problem to clean. Just wipe it down after every use or once a day. Don't pack in more than 10-11 grams of coffee on the double to make sure the basket can go in and also keep the shower head clean. Do get a soft brush or just put some extra effort in with a bit of paper towels to clean around the seal around the shower head to keep things clean and prevent pressure leaks (I haven't had a problem). 1:2.5 to 1:3 ratio shots are great and don't worry about the baskets being pressurized. They work very well and the construction ensures that there's nothing getting trapped in there and getting moldy. The removable filters pop out effortlessly and, contrary to reviews here, the seals don't smell of rubber. In fact, they may be made of silicone or some other odorless material similar to the new Aeropress plungers (that are great btw if you're an Aeropress user). The frother works well and a trick I use if someone doesn't want hot foam is to drop a few ice cubes into the cold milk before steaming. The cup warmer in top though made of nice brushed steel - is a joke! Another minus is that you need to remember to let hot water out for 2 second from the wand before you stream. And make sure you turn the main knob back to on or off before you switch the water off to prevent an accidental aftershot into your espresso! One last thing - a single grain of coffee is enough to block the hole so make sure you rinse the basket and hold it for a second or more under the faucet. The pump is quite powerful and it does NOT make a "weak espresso" - you just need to know what you're doing ;-) BTW this is the exact same machine as the black, red, and all-steel models which have different model numbers. I had to return an ECP3120 (for a defective water reservoir) which was identical in features and performance otherwise to this ECP3220W.

Happy with this purchase since I invested in a good tamper (48-51mm) and grind the beans to almost Turkish coffee fineness. Previous espresso maker lasted over 2 yrs. Purchased this updated model as replacement. Helped me kick the $$ Starbucks latte habit. Machine paid for itself in just a few months from the savings.

This pulls a nice shot of coffee. If it were better able to maintain pressure during steaming, I’d rate it higher. It takes three time letting the pressure build up to get a nice hot, silky foam. Even with that, I really like the coffee it makes. I’m not sorry I bought it.

The machine makes a decent cup of coffee but after owning it one month, it quit working. After a video call with the manufacturer, I was told they would send me a new one. That was almost a month ago, the new machine has not shipped and there has been little response to my emails. I am not sure what to do from here, but I wish I had asked for a refund at the start of this all.

This machine worked great at first but has unfortunately been going downhill. A couple months in and it takes a lot longer than it used to to get hot, as well as coffee comes out as a drizzle that turns into droplets when it used to come out perfectly. I am disappointed because I really wanted to love this.

The only coffee I truly enjoy is a nice Cuban espresso, but sometime using a little stovetop espresso maker is a bit too much for me in the mornings, so I decide to use an espresso machine. I have had lots of these machines in the past but so far this De'Longhi one has been the best, most durable one I have ever purchased.

Cons:
Difficult to access the reservoir if you place it under a cabinet since you need to take out the whole tank to properly fill it up
Frother is quite difficult to clean up, but that goes for most of these machines
I would like to add that when you first use the hot water option that comes out of the frother arm, it comes out with high pressure and can really scare you if you're not prepared the first time.
Overall, its a great quality machine and is hard to beat for the price.

I have nothing bad to say about this machine or any of its accessories. Size and color are perfect for my apartment kitchen. Coffee and steamed milk taste excellent. If you’re an amateur, the tamp is more than adequate for pulling decent shots. This thing is worth the money if you’re looking to make café-quality espresso at home.

This little thing is paying for itself one cup a day. My wife has all but quit her daily starbucks run. We use café bustello in it and the coffee is awesome.
Only thing we really don’t use is the steamer. Since we are too lazy to deep clean it. We instead use an electric milk frother and I am thoroughly impressed with our setup.

These work great if they are not leaking water from the head. If you find your machine leaks water from the head send it back. This one worked like normal and makes great espresso shots and does a great job of steaming and foaming the milk. Even works with Oat milk. Make sure you understand the set-up process before proceeding. Wash your tank thoroughly with soap and water before dashing forward. The instruction book is more detailed about the initial set-up process. It takes a bit of times to get the total hang of it, but you will learn and get better, and you will enjoy a great espresso or cappuccino.

This model quit heating ,(not working) after 6 months. But DeLongi said they'd replace it, but it's been 2 months now and I'm getting the runaround. First it was my purchase verification, then photo of cut cord, then address, then color, then address again....and i still have not received information on the order status.

So here is the deal in a nutshell. This is not a 1000 machine. It doesnt have the quality of a machine with that kind of price. That being said you are not going to get much better at this price point! Its easy to use and as long as you pay attention to its quirks you can overcome a lot of what people say negatively about this machine! With that in mind let me go over a few things and get a little deeper.
First, this thing has a pressure assist system that helps when your grind isnt right and you didnt tamp your grounds down quite right. However, that pressure assist system is simply a portafilter cup with a tiny hole poked in the bottom to make the portafilter pressurize more. So check it every once and a while to make sure you are not getting grounds stuck down in there because if you get grounds down in there no coffee will come out!
Second, there is no pressure gauge on this so it may seem like its impossible to judge how good you espresso is. There is also a remedy to this! Your pour for 2 oz should be between 25 and 35 seconds from start until the 2 oz cup is measured out so if its out of that range then you can either decrease the size of your grounds, tamp harder or vice versa if you are having the opposite problem.
There is a lot of good to this machine if you overlook the quirks and definitely worth not having to spend a massive amount of money on even a home espresso machine!

This machine is completely useless, it run out of steam
in just a few seconds, will not Froth milk. We try every possible
way to make it work. We have a Klarstein Passionata Rossa that will

This espresso machine is very good for its given price. For around $110 USD, you can't get a better entry-level espresso machine. An "upgrade" espresso machine will take you up north $400 USD, perhaps a Breville.

Disappointing product. I've given it 2 stars, because 'when' it does make coffee (that is a big 'when'), it's spot on. However, the double shot filter gets blocked. Doesn't dispense even plain water (no coffee powder in the filter). The single shot seems to work fine (most of the time, it acts up occasionally as well). Be careful when unlocking/opening the holder with one of these blocked filters inside. Steam will spurt out.
Had the same problem with two new machines (one was sent as a replacement for the other). I'll be returning both and seeking a different espresso machine.

I’ll admit, I’m somewhat of a coffee snob. I wanted to upgrade my Bella Pro with 3.5 bar press for the DeLonghi’s 15 bar press. I educated myself on how to make a great cup of espresso with a moderately priced machine. I bought a separate tamper because the one you get with this machine is flimsy plastic. I have a burr grinder so I get a very fine, fresh grind. All of that still couldn’t make this machine an espresso machine. I experimented with at least 15 brews and each one was annoyingly weak and watery. I gave it 6 days and I’m done. I’m hooking my old machine back up and returning this expensive drip coffee machine.

Fantastic little espresso maker! I purchased this device to beef up my morning coffee; this machine is perfect for the individual looking to improve their morning routine. I would not recommend it for family use, but for Dorm, apartment life it is perfect. I had been using a French press to brew coffee before I purchased this item; there is more maintenance involved in using this machine, but the coffee it produces is well worth the price, time, and effort

You have to be very careful that you use coffee that is not very finely ground (such as espresso is supposed to be). This machine, altho rated at 15 bars, does not have the pressure of many other machines...consequently the coffee can be very slow in coming thru.
Other than that, this machine is pretty good and makes nice coffee drinks, It will take you a few tries to get used to the steamer.

This is the second DeLonghi espresso machine I've owned. The first lasted less than six months. But the price on this is right and I figured the cost savings from NOT going to Starbucks made it worth trying again. This model is slightly updated from the one I had, and a candy apple red color which makes me happy. I'm very happy with the shots I get in the morning, and the steamer wand on this one is awesome. I get great foam and overall I'm very happy with my morning cup. That said, things I'm doing differently THIS time are: 1. using distilled water vs simple filtered water, and 2. Descaling once a month. I have no idea if either one of those things will help the machine last longer...I hope so. I'll try to remember to update this as time goes by. For now, I give it a solid five stars for ease of use and pure happiness in the morning. It's small, it's efficient, and it gets the job done without a lot of hoopla.

Product came defunct. The handle is supposed to be turned left, attached into place, then turned right until it locks. This handle, however, requires excessive force to lock into place (and I don’t even think it locked).
On top of that, the steamer works for a good two seconds before you have to reset it. How do you properly steam milk for just two seconds?

I am just in awe with this De'Longhi Espresso/Cappuccino Maker! I love that I can make a single shot or a double shot of Espresso. I love that I can make me the perfect Cappuccino. I do find it is easier to use the espresso coffee pods than the finely ground espresso coffee. No measuring just put in your pod in the filter and add the right amount of water to your tank. It tastes just as good as a coffee that your would get at a coffee bar without having to spend an arm and leg on a cup. I was very excited to get this!!! Coffee is drank in my house daily and my husband recently discovered home made lattes. I have had the chance to practice several times and it does have a bit of learning curve. The espresso part is easy. The milk part is a bit tougher. After a few tries you’ll be creating foam like a pro. The trick is the thicker crema that is used for latte art. I’m still working on that. Milk steamer shoots out water instead of steam if you dont let it heat up long enough and the problem is you have to guess when it is because the green light for "ready" comes on before it actually is! Dont like the filter either it gets stuck in the machine and comes off the handle when you go to take it out to clean. Bottom line this machine is a pain definitely not worth spending over $100 on I returned and went for the $49 mr coffee espresso maker in red works just as well cheaper and not as much hassle! Hope this helps I read probably 100 reviews before I made this purchase wish I had read one like this before wasting my time!

This is wonderful! It is easy to use and easy to clean. My first cup of espresso was delicious. I honestly felt like I had just purchased it at a coffee shop. The flavor is bold and rich and the machine takes less than a minute to heat up. Its size fits easily on my countertop. I can't wait to experiment with lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos and more. This comes with 3 filters which are easily removed for cleaning. I love that this machine is easy to use, makes a great cup of your favorite coffee beverage, and is compact. I finally got a chance to experiment with the Delonghi ECP 3420 espresso machine. Let me start off by saying the first time was trial and error . It was a learning experience, LoL .The machine was really easy to put together, but it was my first time ever using one. It came with three filters, two were single shots and the other double shots. The hardest challenge for me was trying to position the filter holder in place. It was kinda hard to get it to turn. There's a decent size water tank that goes into the back of the machine. It even has the fill line inside so you don't have to guess. The tamper measuring scoop comes in handy also. I can measure the exact amount of espresso for the filters. The machine has a steam dial and spout for the milk frother , which heats up really well. The frother is so much fun to use , that's my favorite part !!! I'm going to keep practicing with it . Oh my what a great tasting espresso, cappuccino and latte without having to go anywhere and spend a lot for a cup. Very easy to read and understand instructions. Was quick to make and froth. I can also make a taller size if I want. This works great for my daughter and myself. Another good thing its easy to clean. I am super happy with the performance and taste. I have had this for while now, and used maybe about ten times so far. One of the metal cups for the grounds doesn't sit right in the machine now, after using that a handful of times. The other metal (Silver) cup that holds the espresso grounds works so I have to only use that one metal cup now. That kinda sucks for the price paid for this. The machine itself is still working fine. there is a learning curve to this however. So be patient, and do not be rough at all with the machine or individual components of the machine. For fear you may break it, or part of it.

I have been looking at Espresso machines for years now and finally treated myself to one. This seems like a great entry level machine and is pretty easy to get used to. The white and silver looks really modern and sleek on the counter top so I love that. After getting the hang of the machine, figuring out a good fresh grind, and the right pressure for tamping the grinds I can get a pretty great shot! My one complaint is with the steam wand. The shape is kind of awkward short and fat. Also does not steam multiple cups in a row for me.

Wanted an espresso machine to keep from spending money at Starbucks. I.... Love.... coffee!!. ☕️ Originally wanted a different machine but the price was too steep for the budget ($600). This machine has definitely grown on me. Only the machine comes in the package, so be prepared to have to buy the espresso shot glasses, steaming pitcher and a coffee grinder. Espresso is best when grounded before being pressed. Yes, I was a barista while going to nursing school. I’ve had this machine for about three months now, and cleaned it once and it still works great! ♥️

I got this for a small apartment and didn’t expect to like it better than my expensive large expresso machine at home, but I do. I use the Illy expresso coffee and it is always delicious. Easy to use and clean.

This is the 8th or 9th De'Longhi I have owned, and the most expensive. All previous ones had been the basic variety. The frother is definitely stronger--a positive. The basket fits very tightly in the handle and you have to struggle to get it in or out--a negative. Biggest negative--white color. I'm constantly cleaning it and wiping it down since every last little drop of espresso shows.

Seems pretty weak heater isn't very strong, ready light goes off halfway through the brewing, or steaming, pump is weak too if you pack the coffee in it may not even drip. The steamer wand blows liquid water out, about half a cup before any steam is generated. Managed to make about 5 or 6 cups of very weak espresso.

Didnt even work. Spent hours trying to troubleshoot the issue and never got it to work. I dont understand how they expect coffee to flow thru a tiny hole the size of a sharp pencil tip. I thought the motor was going to explode trying to put that much pressure thru. Waste of my time waste of my money. Sent it back and got a refund but lost money when all was said and done.

So far it’s easy to use and hasn’t been hard to clean. The filters fit in very snuggly, which is great but a little hard to swap them out. Luckily I will be making a double shot almost every time.
The milk frothing/steaming wand seems a little short, but I bought a smaller pitcher so it’s working better than frothing the milk in a mug.
I got the machine in white and it looks very clean, and doesn’t take up much room in my small home. I will be interested to see if the glass warmer works, once I get glasses, because the plate doesn’t seem to get very warm.
My uncle has a less expensive machine from another maker and I honestly don’t see a huge difference. But this will definitely work and I am glad I got it on sale.
I accidentally purchased 2, but a friend bought the extra one off me. She seems to like it too so far.

Not sure how it works as an espresso machine. Filled reservoir and all the water drained onto counter and floor. Picture shows seal that is in sideways. Tried for an hour to get it into correct position. Gave up and I am sending back

Let me say first that I am a novice at pulling espressos and how espresso machines work. I'm teaching myself how to be a barista by watching a lot of YouTube videos. Anyway this is my 2nd machine. The first machine I sent back (no crema at all). It was dirt cheap for a reason. This machine was easy/foolproof. I glanced over the instructions, turned it on and bam! It produced the most beautiful crema you've ever saw and my latte was so good. Now I gave 5 stars for now. I may change that to 4. And my reasoning is the steaming feature may not be powerful enough for latte art. I'm still working on this so it could very well be me. Also although the coffee is hot I prefer mine piping hot like coffee shops. Again this could be me as I am a little slow getting to the end result. Overall I'm very happy and excited with this machine and stay tuned because I will be back to give an update!

This has replaced one that was old but still going so I gave it to charity and treated me to a new one. This works great for both espresso and cappuccino. I am a big fan of DeLonghi with many of its small kitchen appliances.

Make a great cup of espresso. Little bit of a hassle to remove the screw every time you want to give the espresso cup a deep cleaning. Also, my old unit would turn off when you selected one or two shots of espresso. You need to keep an eye on this one and turn it off when you have the desired amount of espresso. Other than that it works well and does the job. Good value for the money. Already paying for itself since I don't have to go to the coffee shop anymore.

The use of De'Longhi ECP3220 is very simple; the color booklet come with the machine gives detailed instruction. It is well constructed with high quality material and very easy to clean after each use.
I usually drink espresso/cappuccino in the morning and loose leaf tea in the afternoon. The De'Longhi ECP3220 can do both, and the result of brewing loose leaf tea is excellent.
1): Choose your favorite loose leaf tea from local tea store, usually you can try some sample before you purchase. And store them in an air tide container to keep freshness. It can be frozen for long period time of storage.
2): Add about ¾ to filter holder and press gently. Don’t over press to crush the leaf. You can adjust the amount of the tea according to personal taste. I like strong tea.
3): Operate the De'Longhi ECP3220 as usual, to get the best taste I would suggest using distilled water instead of tap water.
4): After the ready light is on, turn to dispense. Discard first 2-3 oz of tea. And enjoy one to two cups of well brewed loose leaf tea.
5): Clean the machine as usually after use.
Loose leaf tea contains more nutrition than most tea bag in the market and taste much better. Try it with De'Longhi ECP3220, the result will be amazing.

I have had this machine for two months and used it to make my caramel latte every morning, this one is so far the best I've ever owned. Unlike most other brands or models in the price range of $150 to $200 (my experience), this machine heats and foams up milk super fast (I use coconut almond milk). What's ever better is that it does not scream like a mad monster. There is no water leak anywhere either, very well built! Just make sure that the water reservoir is pushed all the way to the bottom before you turn on the machine every time because it fits in the machine perfectly and tightly, it won't drop all the way in by itself or the pump would just be pumping air. I highly recommend De'Longhi ECP3220 to all Espresso and Latte lovers!
