Said on the box hot air or oil. Tried both. Hot air burned the popcorn and oil made a mess. Also the popcorn has a hard time coming out of the hole. Had to stick fingers in it and it is kind of hot in there.

I got this item for my nephew, he loves basketball, HE LOVES POPCORN! He was so excited. It is easy to use. Yes, we had popcorn with our Christmas Dinner!
