Ninja (CM401) Specialty Fold-Away Frother Coffee Maker Customer Reviews
I was looking for a coffee maker that could brew a full pot or a single cup. My husband doesn't drink coffee, but my parents regularly visit and are bug coffee drinkers. I love that the ninja has multiple options for what size you are brewing. I also like that the coffee scoop has suggestions on the amount of coffee grinds to use. The coffee carafe is smaller than a standard 12 cup pot, so you may have to brew multiple pots for a larger crowd or if you are bug coffee drinkers. Also, I ended up purchasing disposible filters since the reusable filter was so difficult to clean.
I am super happy with my purchase and would absolutely recomend the ninja if you need something a little more advanced.

This coffee maker is worth every penny !!! I love this I make iced, or regular, or even Specialty coffee. The one HIGE NEGATIVE IS!!! That is steams so much it will 100% ruin your kitchen cabinets if you make the coffee under a cabinet or near a wall! It’s to the point the steam and water heat literally drips under my cabinets, so now I just move it out when making coffee and then push it back when it’s finished! Other then the 100% Condensation that occurs every single time this coffee maker is amazing.

LOVE this coffee maker. Best brew pause ever, best filter( has a little lip so you can handle it and knock out the grounds ) I have used the specialty setting for only 4 ounces, heat a little milk in the microwave and then froth the milk. Wonderful treat in the afternoon. People have mentioned the frother drips and honestly I cannot believe what people complain about. You simply twist of off and bring it to the sink and rinse it off. If you don’t want to do that right away, put a little plate under it. I also love that all access is from the front. So many other machines of this type you have to lift up from the top. My overhead cupboards are low and it fits right under. I do have to pull it out to put in the coffee, but it’s no big deal. I am so glad I splurged and bought this for myself.

After putting up with a cheapo Mr. Coffee for several years and failing to get good coffee flavor no matter what beans we used, making a bigger investment in the Ninja turned out to be a wise decision. First things first: this thing makes a really solid brew - and I've made a full carafe, half, single cups of multiple sizes and their 'special brew' which is a "kind of" espresso shot. All are far better than any home brewer we've had.
The machine is well designed - the water reservoir is easy to remove for filling or can be filled in place - it's easy to see how full it is and add just what's needed. The hand grips are for righty's so if you're left handed you may not like it as well. The carafe pours well, no drips on the counter. There's a drip stop lever if you're impatient and an alarm/light to alert you if you leave it engaged. A warning light cautions you if the heating plate is warm. The filter basket has a lovely swivel out motion. The milk frother is easy to use, tucks out of sight if unneeded and removes easily for cleaning. Even the built in coffee scoop is handily located and has the measurements for each brew size right on the handle. Coffee is good and hot and stays at a good temperature on the plate.
Are there any 'buts'? Only a couple so far, and they're minor. Note that you'll want some space above the unit if placed under cabinet so you can lift the filter up and out to empty. The filter is conical so with a little finesse you are able to remove without pulling straight up. If we had to pull it out from under the cabinet daily to take out the basket that would be frustrating. If you change the dial and make a single cup brew, remember to set the dial back to carafe (or your preferred brew size) or you will be disappointed in the morning! And about the carafe, it is a 10-cup volume, not 12 - so it falls just a bit short of four large mugs. Otherwise - a really solid unit, good flavor, nice features and only a handful of minor complaints.

It was time to replace our old basic gold-cone coffee maker, and a bit of research led me (surprisingly) to this Ninja model. Having used it now daily for a couple of months, we just love the thing.
First, the engineering: Who knew one could improve so much on something as basic as brewing a cup of coffee, but Ninja thought-thru the details. The water tank can be filled easily at the flip-top lid, or lifted off and filled at the sink. They designed the shape of the tank to make it easy to hold and maneuver. The coffee basket uses a removable insert for easy cleaning. The flip-down stand for regular coffee cups or short to-go mugs is sturdy and stows out of the way. I didn't think I'd use the little power foamer that swings out from the left side, but it makes amazing cold foam from my oat milk, adding a creamy topping to my joe. And again, great engineering - the foamer swings out of the way, and detaches for super easy cleaning.
Making coffee, excellent temperature control - it pre-infuses the coffee to let it bloom before running the full quantity selected, and heats evenly thru a steady brew cycle. Our coffee tastes noticeably better.
Front controls are easy and intuitive to use. The whole thing is easy to clean.
Someone at Ninja really thought this thru. I'm impressed.

Quite impressed and happy with my investment! I am in my mid 30's and raised on a higher end Bunn. I want coffee that has a robust smooth flavor and was not finding it in the Walmart aisle. My son and I also love a good, strong latte near the temperature of the sun.... And that's another hard thing to find (always bath water warm and too much syrup). SO, my husband and I had been on the search for a coffee pot that would make a good pot of coffee and save our pocket books from the local barista. We had a Keurig (?)..... It was costly and didn't tickle the taste buds, on top of it broke in less than a year!!!! So, after MUCH research and debate, I bought this AND IT IS GREAT! The bold setting actually means it, and you don't get extra fiber with coffee grinds at the bottom of your cup! The frother slightly deceived me, but to my surprise liking. I thought the frother would be a steam frother, but it is a blending frother.... Truly, I like it more (I originally didn't think I would)... Very easy to use and has a couple fool proof niceties, like the refusal to brew coffee if your drip stop is on ?? (I am glad that it refuses then). After much research and a trial run of approximately 1 month (coffee every day and approximately 3 lattes total a day), it runs like a champ!!

Quick View Pro/Con list at the bottom (if you want to skip all the wordy storytelling)
I bought this coffee pot after my previous one of 9 years died. I researched, Googled, and scrutinized for weeks before locking in. It checked all the MUST boxes and more! It took me 1-2 days of making coffee with this to be absolutely 100% locked in. This was it, THE coffee pot. It makes great coffee. The included scoop is clear to use and accurate to brew delicious coffee every time. You can customize with Classic or Rich (for me it depends on the roast). The Specialty setting isn’t EXACTLY espresso; but man does it come close without being brewed under pressure.
It’s got all the bells and whistles. Everything you need and want to clean detaches for quick easy access and clean up! It has a built in frother/blender. The hot plate doesn’t burn the coffee, the drop down single cup tray is strong and durable. The settings allow for every desirable cup of coffee you want. It has a clear instruction book to walk you through this and be happily home brewing in minutes. The programming auto-start is simple and works.
It’s perfect! At least it was until it broke after 3-4 months of mostly regular use. Now it’s terrible and it’s the worst version of broke a coffee maker can be. It sucks you into loving it, then makes you HATE it! AND IT WORKS JUST LONG ENOUGH TO SURPASS THE AMAZON RETURN POLICY!
The problem: there is a manufacturers defect in how it draws water from the reservoir into the brewing system. It starts to draw water, then it stops and tells you “ADD WATER” (See the first 2 pics. Water level is circled and so is error message). Most times I want to brew a pot of coffee I need to stand there and repress the Classic/Rich button after it errors out. For 1 FULL POT I need to repeat this process 20-30 times!!!! It errors out after about 1-2 oz of water drawn in. GO CHECK THE ONLINE REVIEWS ON NINJAS WEBSITE. TONS OF STORIES CONFIRMING THIS. It won’t auto brew anymore without erroring out immediately. It’s all sizzle and no steak at this point!
PROS:
-Built in frothing tool (folds away for convenience)
-Single serve settings
-Single serve cup holder
-Included coffee scoop with ACCURATE measurement guide
-Fully detachable for easy clean up
-Variety of settings for multiple brew styles
-Auto brew settings
-Specialty (espresso style) brew
-Included mesh filter
-Great flavor coffee, and it’s always the same
CON:
-Manufacturers defect in water system that causes it to stop pulling water for brewing after 1-2 oz. forces you to restart the brew every few seconds. (View Photos)
-This break happened to ours in less than 4 months or less than 100 brews!

I love my new coffee pot. The set up was easy and so easy to use. I love all the setting choices for what size coffee you would like. It brews pretty quick. If I do not set it for the morning then when I get up I choose multi setting fill up my big mug and within just a very few minutes it is full. Brews a full pot in no time and you get that pour over quality which I love. That few seconds that water pours on grounds and stops to let the grounds bloom is Devine. True richness in the coffee. So you have to clean the carafe with a bottle brush big deal. I get the one with sponge on the end cleans within a few seconds which I wash my pot and the filter and filter holder everyday that’s just me I never like a stained coffee pot. Clean up and assembly is quick. Set it and forget it. You will not regret getting this coffee pot. Best investment I made on a coffee pot choice! Ditch the Keurigs people. You do not get the full bodied flavor of your coffee like you do with a real coffee pot and this is the real deal! I love it!

I am so sad to say this maker never worked :( Didn't even get to try. Came broken. Called customer service and they did a video chat and said it was the reservoir and they would send replacement. The replacement also didn't work. Said they would send a whole new unit but I had to cut cord in order to get it meaning if new unit didn't work I couldn't return the original and would just be caught in an endless cycle of waiting on replacements. Just opted to return at this point. Hope it works for everyone else!

This coffee maker has been what I have been looking for forever. After many cheap Mr. Coffees, I finally decided to upgrade to this one. This coffee maker makes very rich coffee very efficiently, meaning that I can use a smaller amount of beans than other coffee makers to get a rich taste. It has lots of nice features too, like being able to choose from a variety of sizes to brew. The portable travel mug option is really awesome: you can brew straight into your portable mug. I really like the easy loading of water and coffee beans also. It also has a drip stop feature which is super helpful. I opted for the glass carafe because the steel one was significantly more expensive, and I have not had any issues with it. I highly recommend this coffee maker.

When we first bought this coffee machine I was in love—it brews great tasting coffee relatively quick and is easy to clean. About 5 months after purchasing, the coffee started to brew strange and leak out around the basket. I often wake up to coffee all over my kitchen counter, which is now warped from steaming hot coffee leaking all over it. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

Ninja coffee maker I absolutely love this coffee pot! I wanted some thing that Would make numerous types of coffee. This one bruise my espresso, regular coffee and iced coffee. I love the frother!! It took me two months to pull the plug and buy a new coffee pot because there are so many out there. It took a lot of research but I decided on this one and I am glad that I did. If I had a complaint, it's that it didn't come with something to place under the froth or to catch drips. I would definitely buy this again!

I bought this item on Nov 2nd. Used it for a day (Coffee blending/taste was good), next morning found my counter top and the coffee maker base to be filled with water creating an electrical hazard. Called customer support and the guy requested for a video share and finally said "We have to change the base, you need to pay a shipping fee for this". What a fun! Spent a good chunk of money, received a faulty piece and was being penalized as well. What a world we're in!
May be those praising did not receive a defective piece. Good luck to them!

I bought my Ninja coffee maker on 8/23/2020, and exactly two months later after daily use, I got an "add water" error message. I called Ninja's customer support two weeks ago and they said they would send a replacement water reservoir. There is no visible damage to my current reservoir, so I don't even know if this is the problem. In any event, I'm still waiting for the reservoir! I can't believe this coffee maker has a working life of less than two months!

Don't let all the buttons discourage you! It's so simple and the instructions make it so easy to follow and understand. I've been looking for a good coffee maker for a while (I was using a Mr coffee 4 cup, it made terrible coffee, but it was also 5 years old) We wanted something that could make both expresso and coffee, although this technically doesn't make expresso , we still use expresso grounds and make it with the "specialty" button. I don't know if it's the same taste as expresso you would get from Starbucks, but my bf hasn't complained. The coffee taste is amazing and definitely feel the caffeine buzz. I give this a 2 thumbs up!

I got this in January of this year, and I've loved every cup of coffee that came out of it.
Imagine my surprise this morning, when after brewing a full pot just fine... it said "Er03" on the clock.
Called customer support, and they can't tell me what's wrong beyond "it doesn't work anymore." I have to pay to ship it back to get a replacement.
After complaining a lot, I got them to agree to send me a new one without paying for return shipping, but it won't be here for 2 weeks.
Not sure how a machine that basically just heats up water can break so easily (I've babied this unit), but there it is. Steer clear. Buy something else.

I absolutely love my new Ninja specialty coffee maker! Makes a delicious cup of coffee without that bitter taste. Also wonderful for when you have different people in a household that like different kinds of coffee. Easy to remove the carafe after you have made a pot and set it aside to make a single cup or a small thermos full. Caution, make sure to set your hot carafe on a dish towel or pad instead of a cold granite countertop as the temp change could crack your carafe! This sounds like common sense but I almost forgot! Also, I want to mention that this machine is very smart and intuitive. It will let you know if you are doing something wrong as in pushing the wrong button. For instance, if you start to try to brew a pot and you have left the stop drip lever in place, it will make a naughty beep beep sound and light up the stop drip light to let you know to flip the lever back to drip! It will not brew until you fix that! It also lets you know in other situations if you are not doing something right and it is very obvious once it tells you. Of course if I would just read all of the directions, I probably wouldn’t need to be corrected, but who does?Lol … Also, I want to tell you it makes a wonderful specialty coffee. Even if I want a decaf latte, the specialty brew turns my decaf into a wonderful rich brew!! I’m sure with espresso coffee it would be even more impressive. Also the milk frother is wonderful and easy to use and clean. All in all I am thrilled with my purchase and highly recommend it. The only thing I would change is the design of the carafe. You cannot get your hand inside to clean it and it is not recommended to put it in the dishwasher. You need a soft sponge or brush with handle to properly clean the carafe. Even so, everything else about it is so great that I would definitely buy it again!

Ordered the version with the stainless Steel Carafe later discovered that if you order that option the base has no heating element, the carafe does not keep the coffee hot long enough in my opinion, I am also not happy that it was not disclosed that this particular unit would not have a base warming element just because I spent more and ordered the Metal carafe version. Over all I would have to say that I am not happy with the unit, it needs a heating element

I bought this machine to replace one that I purchased in 2016 that is slowly going out. I only use the specialty function which makes 4 ounces of strong coffee at a time and I use this feature twice to make an iced mocha. I purchased the machine and in less then one week, it would brew the 4 ounces of strong coffee and then when I would make another 4 ounces again and it would make 8 ounces of coffee that was so weak, you could see the bottom of the cup. I use about 1/4 cup of coffee grounds total to make these two drinks. I received a replacement and the same thing happened on the fifth day of use. I called Ninja customer service and was told that I had to start putting in only 4 ounces of water for each brewing instead of filling up the water container so that there was more than enough water to brew these two drinks each day. My old machine which is going out still works better then the new machines.

This coffee maker is possibly the most prized possession in my house. Everyone uses it for a different purpose I like to have my coffee set for me in the morning and I have to say that the flavor of the coffee actually comes through rather than getting distorted and some of the other coffee pots that I have used. It’s super easy to clean and it’s super easy to set for a delayed brew.
My husband uses it for his travel mugs in the morning and my son likes to drink tea. The only thing that I could say that would make this way better is to have a coffee grinder attached to it which would probably make it way more expensive.

We've used Keurig for many years. Recently our 5 year old Keurig died, so we ordered another from Amazon. After a few weeks it stopped working (still under warranty). Amazon was not able to help us directly, so we contacted Keurig. We emailed all of the info Keurig required to get a replacement. After a few weeks of getting no response from Keurig (other than daily junk emails) we decided to try a drip system. Ninja seemed the best way to go.
We now will never go back to the single pod system! The Ninja provides much better control over the strength and flavor of the coffee. It is very easy to brew a single cup or a full carafe. The frother is a wonderful feature if you like milk/cream in your coffee. The entire unit is very well thought and and well engineered. Plus, it is a good feeling to have stopped using plastic K-cups that are basically non-degradable.
So, thank you Keurig for helping us find a better and more environmentally friendly way to brew coffee!

I love coffee at all times of the day and I spent a lot of time looking at options. This was a wedding gift, so I wanted to do it right. I actually read through a lot of reviews before pulling the trigger on this puppy, and I think most of the negative reviews are due to manufacturing defects. For example: I saw that some people reported mold growing at the base of the water tank. I have yet to have this happen. The tank doesn't leak and my guess is that this happens if water happens to spill over the side while filling it up.
First off, the machine looks quite nice. It's black and stainless steel and doesn't look cheap. I also really appreciate a lot of the clever design features:
1. There's a milk frother that swings out from the side of the machine. I don't put milk in my coffee, but sometimes I just let it run for fun.
2. There's a solid plastic spoon that hooks into the side of the machine. It has a scale that tells you how many scoops of coffee to use depending on how much coffee you want to brew.
3. The water tank also is nicely labeled so it's easy to see the amount of water you need in order to brew X amount of coffee.
4. You can schedule a brew for the future (if you need it early in the morning for instance).
There a few minor things that knock this down to a 4-star product:
1. The hot plate doesn't keep the coffee hot. I think this is because the bottom of the carafe is rubber or plastic? Either way, I find myself reheating my coffee after an hour or two.
2. You need to program how much coffee you want to brew. If you want to brew a half carafe, you need to set the dial to that. This is annoying if you forget. If you have less than the specified amount of water, the machine will beep and tell you to add more. If you have more, the machine will simply stop brewing once it does half. I wish it simply stopped brewing once the water is gone. I've had much cheaper machines do that.
All in all, great machine and for a good price. I'd recommend.

After a few weeks its honestly like any other coffee maker, makes a very strong cup of coffee you may have to dial back the amount of grounds for taste depending on what you use, with some finer coffees they leave particles in the last few ounces of the carafe.
You can use paper instead of the stainless but i dont mind the grains in the bottom. After brewing you might want to swish the carafe then poor it to mix the different concentration. All in all its not really very different than other makers quality for the money is just kinda average.
Wish the knobs and dials were a little bit better but i guess all the r&d money went to heating and control
Edit: still a very nice coffee maker and you should buy it, but you may be able to go see it in person at a walmart first.

Had a Ninja, then another, then bought a reputable pod dual coffee pot, went straight back to the Ninja. This pot is the best for the money! I’m so glad I got it back, and it’s new and improved. First off it makes the BEST brewed coffee, using less grounds, drops slowly and quietly and you won’t be disappointed. This pot has options! Cup, travel cup, multi cup, had pot, full pot, delayed start. You can even frothe milk and it has a measuring scooper attached to the side. I missed my Ninja .. I’ve had the fully automatic espresso makers too, which are great but for just coffee. This one won’t disappoint, and it never has.

I must say that I was skeptical despite the hours of research that I did prior to making this purchase. I have never been more happily surprised by a product. Not only does it perform perfectly as it is described, but the frother is the most amazing part of this machine!!! I can make the thickest stiff cappuccino foam hot or cold in less than a minute. It takes about 30 to 45 seconds to get it the perfect stiffness. Make sure to heat milk prior to frothing if you want it to be hot. I also suggest heating the entire drink for about 45 seconds to ensure the perfect temperature for hot SPECIALTY drinks. I am in love with my Ninja!!! I still go to Starbucks on occasion just to get out of the house, but I can make a much better drink from the comfort of my home. I have used this almost daily multiple times a day on some days for well over six months, and I have had no issues whatsoever. I clean it regularly with a mixture of white vinegar and distilled water. I will be adding video soon.

After being in the coffee business for over fifteen years I have naturally become a coffee nerd. This coffee maker passes my standards with ease. It is the only residential maker with the approval of the Specialty Coffee Association. I usually use the cup or thermos setting and the rich setting. The flavor is excellent. The machine is easy to clean and the controls are easy to understand. You can now stop hurting the environment by stop using those pods!

I’ve had this now for a month or two and feel comfortable using the machine. I have to say the classic and rich settings are definitely distinctive. The classic definitely has a less acidic taste to the coffee, but the flavor is still there. The rich setting is for one of those mornings that you want an extra kick in the pants. Moving on the the specialty brew setting. I personally like a cappuccino and this makes a pretty convincing one. The only slight is that I feel there’s still a bit too much water used vs beans on this setting. It probably brews around a triple shot as opposed to a double, which would be perfect. Also, the frothier works pretty well, but to get a good stiff foam, I’m using it for a minute at least. Any less amount of time and there’s still un-frothed milk at the bottom. All in all though, I’m pretty impressed and very content with my purchase.

I loved this coffee maker when I first got it, but after ~2 months it became unusable. Hundreds of people have the same issue - this coffee maker basically has an xbox red ring of death: the clean light.
My clean light started showing up a few seconds after starting to brew. I ran the clean cycle with vinegar per the manual, then did the flush cycle. The clean light went away for about a week, then started showing up again. After that, no amount of clean cycles would make it go away.
A coffee machine should be dependable to use every morning. A $200 coffee machine much more so. It's unacceptable that so many people have this issue.
To add to the problem, the coffee maker started leaking water from under the base every time it's used, making a mess of my counters and floor. I finally contacted Amazon support since my return period was over and they handed me over to Ninja support.
Ninja support had me run the clean cycle again (which takes hours) then call again and show them the problem on video chat. I tried to brew a cup and this time didn't get the clean light (of course) but the coffee maker still leaked all over my kitchen. Ninja said they would send me a replacement water reservoir (despite explaining the water was coming from the base and the sides and reservoir were totally dry) and did nothing for the clean light since "they weren't able to see the problem on video." The next time I tried to brew a cup, the clean light showed up again.
It's been now 3-4 weeks after i called ninja support, and the replacement part has still not arrived (they estimated a week to 10 days) so i don't even know if that will fix the problem.
Don't take the risk - just look at all the people frustrated with this problem online before you buy. Do your research and pick a reliable, durable machine.

This is the first "expensive" coffee machine that I have ever purchased. I use quotes because you can go crazy with coffee and espresso machines and spend thousands. This buddy was $200, and is basically a drip machine "plus". You can make standard brew, strong brew, specialty brew, and even iced brew. I've tried everything except for the iced feature (doing that tomorrow).
Aside from functions, let's talk form-factor. It's a pretty machine. No question. The actions are crisp and intuitive. I like that the carafe is an insulated pot, and it doesn't just sit on a burner getting charred. To be clear, there is no burner. The coffee stays warm in the double walled carafe. Makes sense to me! The reservoir is easy to take on/off. The action of the basket(s) are smooth. Everything just seems to be quality, design and material-wise.
Now for my favorite feature. The milk frothing mechanism. I LOVE the milk frothing mechanism. To be clear, there is no steamer here. You have to microwave the milk to get it hot. Then you use the frother to make yourself a latte jam. It's not St@rbucks, but it's still damn good. Ghetto-bucks is fine by me. I use a nice dark roast for the specialty drink option. Pro-tip for when you're doing the specialty option! After the brew finishes, close the drip mechanism, swing the basket out and use a spoon to move the coffee bloom around. Maybe lightly press on the grounds. Return the basket to it's "ready" position and re-open the drip mechanism. I do this twice, depending on how fine the grind is. What you get is an extra shot of tar black coffee in that yummy latte of yours. Hot damn. So good! Buy this machine.

So far I love this coffee maker. I've had it about a week now. The only thing to know up front is the frother does NOT heat whatever it is you are frothing. That said, I throw my heavy cream (I'm doing low carb) into the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up, no biggie considering I do not make breve's all the time. :) Alot easier to clean than a keurig and I like the fact it has a reusable basket. :)

I found this coffee maker from its inclusion on an SCA list when I was looking to upgrade my twenty-year-old, no-frills Mr. Coffee. (SCA is basically an industry certification that a coffee maker brews coffee to a prescribed standard.) This time, I wanted a thermal carafe, which is considered better for keeping coffee hot yet not changing its flavor as it sits on a hot plate. The Technivorm models I looked at were all about 50% more expensive so I went with the Ninja.
My wife pointed out that it was hawked in an infomercial by Sofia Vergara, which I did not know when I bought it. If that matters to you.
I've used it for a couple of months now, and really have only two complaints:
1. The carafe does not pour well. The opening is too wide, especially the way the mouth is shaped, so it is always a gamble whether I can fill my coffee mug without a spill. As well engineered and designed as this system seems to be, that seems like a pretty egregious oversight.
2. The coffee it makes, if you follow their guidance, is on the weak side to me.
Apart from those complaints, it's a pretty versatile coffee maker. It's really carefully designed (apart from that darn carafe). No regrets on the purchase (unless I spill coffee pouring from that darn carafe).

[Ninja CM407 Specialty (stainless steel finish)] Have purchased and used two Cuisinart coffee makers in the last five years. The maker received better than average reviews, and resulting brews were alright; however, the coffee makers simply did not last. My parents' second Cuisinart overheated, as had our second Cuisinart, so I went online and began reading reviews of other companies. Turns out, the Ninja received excellent reviews and comments from happy customers. I took those confirmed purchasers' reviews seriously and purchased a Ninja. Although I've not used the iced coffee feature, everything else is as promised. It's a beautiful machine, easy to operate and clean, and more importantly, brews an absolutely delicious cup of coffee. Unlike the others, the Ninja leaves me wanting a second cup each time.

When I first recieved the coffee maker I loved it! It brews really hot and the coffee is strong. After just 2 months it wasn't brewing the complete pot, it would leave about a cup in the bladder, and a message would flash to add more water. Then yesterday i had set the pot to atomatic brew for the morning as i always do but when i got up it never turned on. Then this morning when i got up my coffee had brewed sometime in the middle of the night! So disappointed! Absolutly would NOT recommend!

I bought this mainly based on the fact it brews the iced coffee over ice, but I’ve started venturing out and trying more recipes. Once it turns on and you select your size, over ice, etc. it only takes about 30 seconds to be done and ready to drink. I’ve been making caramel macchiatos lately and they taste just as good as a coffee shop. It’s ridiculously easy and has recipes you can look up based on your model. Each recipe has ingredients you would already have at home (milk, cream, your favorite syrup, etc). I haven’t tried the milk frother yet, but I love that it folds into the side so it doesn’t get lost or in the way.

Loved this coffee maker from day 1. It's very intuitive and just makes excellent coffee. I grind my own beans in a separate machine and then add the fresh grinds to the Ninja, add filtered water to the reservoir, and away you go. The coffee brews in 3-5 minutes depending on how much you're making. Sometimes I'll pull it out early and the drip stop feature is 99% effective. Occasionally I'll get 1 or 2 drips creep through, but MOST of the time it shuts it off just fine and I can pull some coffee before the full pot is done. Perfect!
Love the multi size brewing option. Most days I brew something between a L cup and Travel size and it does perfectly. I use the provided measuring scoop to make sure I'm getting the right mix. Personally I love the concept of a reusable filter! It feels wasteful to chunk the paper ones several times a week. I haven't had an issue with grinds getting through the filter like some reviewers either.
Classic vs Rich brew is a nice feature as well. If you brew Rich it will bloom for longer so don't get impatient when you click Rich to start and it doesn't appear to be doing anything for 10-12 seconds. The process just takes a bit longer. If you click Rich a 2nd time it cancels the brew cycle.
My whole family loves the frother! I usually heat my milk or creamer separate, then froth, then pour it over the coffee. Kids like frothing up hot cocoa.
I had a tough time biting the bullet on cost, but have been thoroughly impressed so far. Would recommend to anyone who's a regular coffee drinker!!

One Year for an expensive coffee pot. Not working. One year almost to the day and it appears the water pump isn’t working. The water tank is half full and the machine beeps to add water. Won’t buy again. Not worth the money. Two pots a day at the most. Really just not worth the cost.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect coffee maker for a long time. I wanted something that was reliable, quick, with multiple different brew options. This ticks ALL OF THE BOXES. I am absolutely in love with this machine. The different size options, the different brews, the ease of cleaning. It does everything I could possibly want. I don’t feel like any of the bells and whistles are going to waste, either, because it is all practical. Probably my favorite feature is the option for brewing over ice. But what’s also nice is that if I’m in the mood for hot coffee but my hubby is in the mood for iced, we don’t have to agree because we can just quickly brew our own individual portions. This coffee maker quickly became our pride and joy. Stop hemming and hawing and just buy it, because it’s 100000% worth it. Yeah, it has a larger footprint and yes you can’t fit your entire hand in the carafe to clean it. The trade off is worth it though, I promise. Get a bottle brush, clear off the counter space and stop living like uncivilized slime that compromised on their coffee.

I bought this coffeemaker for my husband’s birthday in June and we both LOVE it. It’s very compact and stylish looking and makes a delicious pot of coffee in only a few minutes. The optional stainless carafe keeps it hot for a few hours and allows us to bring the pot out on the deck. Even more exciting, the different size settings allow you to make a half pot or single cup that is just as delicious and full-bodied as the whole pot. And NO stupid k-cups!! It also makes THE BEST iced coffee, which has been a real treat this very hot summer. The included scoop ensures proper measurements for whatever size coffee you choose to make - and there’s a handy chart to guide you. The only things we haven’t tried are the “specialty”‘setting (which makes something close to an espresso shot but with regular coffee) and the milk frother; I’ve read other reviews so I’m aware it doesn’t heat the milk, just froths it, which is not a big deal for us. I was worried when I ordered this that it would be a silly waste of money and we’d end up disappointed. Instead we got a great coffeemaker and we’re really happy with my purchase.

I absolutely love my coffee pot just not the seller as communication was non-existent. Cleaning the pot is difficult bc I cannot fit my hand in to clean it. The mixer is wonderful if you want a little foam but I wish it was just a little stronger so that the foam was thicker. The coffee pot itself deserves 5 stars. I hesitated to review it since I ended up not buying it from Amazon due to the terrible seller but I did buy the exact one from Target.

I recently purchased this Ninja coffee maker for my daughter who was away at college. She wanted a coffee maker that could brew many different types of coffee. She likes to brew directly into her travel mug and also likes to make iced coffee. Since I already owed this Ninja coffee maker I knew just what she was looking for. I have had this coffee maker for two plus years now and I truly enjoy the various size setting from a small coffee cup to a full carafe there are multiple sizes in between. It also has different options for the strength of coffee and can brew either iced or hot coffee. This machine offers many setting to brew coffee and also has a swing out frother which is very powerful.

Nice cups are made with this machine. I had to grind my beans a little less with this one vs my old coffee maker. Good blooming, and SCA certified. It is nice that it comes with a gold filter and you can remove the plastic water reservoir to fill up at the filtered water from the fridge. The only problem I had is when I first got it the tank leaked all over the counter, it hasn't happened since, I may not have seated it well enough? I find it odd that the power light button remains on all day even after the timed heat plate stops, should stop at the same time I would think. Anyway a few glitchy things, otherwise what is most important is the cup, and it does it well.

We are 2 weeks past the Amazon guarantee return time. Which means we've had it not quite 60 days and it stopped working and is leaking coffee everywhere when u try to make cup.. yeah, just no, not worth the money.
Update, Ninja actually replaced the unit. It took weeks but I was happy they back their product. Well replacement made it less than 60 days before it also broke. It literally stopped working. I wouldn't buy a product from Ninja if all I had to do was pay shipping. Clearly these are the junkiest appliances. I've never experienced anything like this before. I'm going back to Breville or something similar.
Spoke directly with Ninja. Was given a complete run around and was told if I sent it back it would be very quickly replaced. Sent it back..... no replacement. More phone calls, it's on back order and won't be shipped out for another week. Will NOT be purchasing any products from Ninja again.

I absolutely love all of the functions of this coffee bar!!! I have only owned for about a month now. And I have read the negative reviews regarding the unit failing after a short period of time. But so far so good for mine! The best coffee I have made at home so far!! My iced coffee drinks are just as good, if not better than some of the shoppes! Just remember, purified water and proper coffee storage is your best friend when it comes to great tasting coffee!!!

I bought this because I was thinking that I would be able to make amazing lattes, cappuccinos, and espresso. While it does make a really good, stout 4oz pour, it is NOT the same as an espresso shot. It's nice being able to make different sizes of single serve coffees, and the brother works very well, but does take some practice. The frothed milk (no matter how much I try) does not pour the same way that steamed milk does, but is very voluminous and foamy. I feel like the flavor of a half carafe of coffee surpasses the single-servings, as the single servings tend to have a lot of sediment. The delay brew is great, and so far has worked every single time, no complaints there. It is easy to clean, and the filter basket makes it easy to recycle the grind right into my compost bin.

After about 3 years of use my previous Ninja coffee maker it got the 5 beeps of death and wouldn't even go through a cleaning cycle. Tried as I might, I couldn't get it to work so I ended up throwing it the in the trash can and ordering a new one. New one gets here and it has the SAME STUPID PROBLEM straight out of the box!!! Power on....power off....plug in....unplug......fill reservoir......empty reservoir.......etc. Call customer support....of course it's closed! Looks like I'll be ripping into some poor CA person first thing tomorrow morning since I'll have to do it before I have my first cup of coffee. Ugh......

I've purchased a number of different coffee machines of similar models in the past couple years, from Mr. Coffee to Keurig. A couple months ago I got tired of shoving coffee machines I hated into various cupboards, never to be seen again, and I tried this one based on a random youtube recommendation. It is GREAT. It does exactly what it says, the features actually make sense, and with the instructions provided and maybe a little youtube browsing as well, you can actually take advantage of many features on this compact machine.
Other positives:
The drip-stop actually WORKS. Our Mr. Coffee did not, and the whole house took to smelling like burnt coffee. This one actually stops dripping completely.
The frother is powerful and has proved useful for many other drinks (I see you Aldi's whipped coffee)
A couple negatives:
I put a little dish underneath the frother to catch drips, which does happen occasionally when disconnecting it. But it's very easy to disconnect from the machine to wash.
The top of the water tank has way too many moving parts, and the first time I grabbed the lid it flew off and spilled everywhere.
Other than that, this is the machine I'm still using with no issues daily, and plan to continue using for years to come!

Fills most of my criteria for a coffee maker!
Pros
1) Stainless thermal carafe (it doesn't keep the coffee very hot beyond a couple of hours. Because we have 4 people drinking coffee, this isn't usually an issue until the 3rd pot or so!)
2) No need to lift the top for adding grounds. Easy swing out basket.
3) Removable side-loading water water reservoir so there is no need to move the machine in/out from under the upper cabinets. There is no charcoal filter but we use RO water so that is not a feature we need.
Cons
1) plastic lid spout that sits down into the hot coffee...the pot itself is stainless inside, doesn't make sense to make this piece plastic since it is in sustained, direct contact with the coffee.
2) small 10-cup
3) metal filter allows a noticeable amount of grounds sediment into the carafe. Solved by using a paper filter in the metal filter.
Overall a great, much lower cost replacement for our beloved Viking Coffee Maker that is no long made. Our Viking lasted almost 9 years, hopefully this holds up as well. My biggest concern about it aging well is the plastic that sits down in the coffee!

When I first used the coffee ninja, I loved it. The machine and the frother made so many delicious drinks. About 3 months after buying it, I noticed mold in the bottom of the reservoir under an attached suction area where the water flows into the actual machine. This area is not removable, and the water can't even be drained from this area. Therefore, mold develops. It is a flaw with the design. I spoke to Ninja, and they are sending a replacement water reservoir but of the same design, so the same thing will likely happen.

I have always had cheap Mr coffee makers, because drip coffee is what it is. I have used several fancy and expensive ones that are super hard to clean, taste weird, or break. We have had this for almost a month now and have had no problems. My husband who is super picky about makers loves it. You barely have to move it to fill it or use the frother, the basket just pulls out toward you instead of opening upward, and you can use a paper filter or the reusable one.
The frother works so well, way better than a steamer (btw it's not a steamer so don't expect that). You do have to heat the milk first if you want it hot, but it also froths cold. I even froth my coffee creamer. It doesn't seem to like to froth chocolate milk though.
Overall it's fantastic and I would definitely recommend.

I returned another coffee maker that I purchased recently. Once they’re actually in use I see all the little things I’m not happy with. Something as small as not being able to remove the water carafe is a big deal when you use the machine a few times a day. I did quite a bit of research and found this Ninja to be favorably reviewed and I took a chance. Wow I love this machine. I start each day with a cappuccino. I can make a carafe or a cup of coffee whenever I want. The built in foamer is simple to use and easy to clean. It’s all very intuitive and user friendly. I’m super pleased with this purchase!

I had no idea when I purchased this model that it is not DESIGNED to stay warm. Because it has the stainless steel carafe, there is no feature on the base unit to keep it warm.
In other words, once the coffee brews, it is only the carafe that keeps it warm, NOT THE BASE UNIT. If I had known I would never have purchased. I've called customer service at 1-877-646-5288 and they say that there is no use replacing the unit because the same model won't get warm either. AND when I asked the company to let me return this item in exchange for the glass pot model that DOES HAVE a stay warm feature, they would not allow me to do so.
What is a coffee pot that does not keep the coffee warm????? DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MODEL WITH THE STAINLESS CARAFE. I'm just telling you- you will be microwaving your second cup EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING.

Good news and bad news. While the coffee and flexibility of this coffee system are 5 stars, two things are not. It started leaking almost immediately. After each operation, a puddle of water accumulates under the maker. I took off the water reservoir, cleaned it, and then made sure I had locked it into place. It still leaked. I repeated this at least four times. No luck. I couldn't even figure out where the water was coming from. I thought perhaps it was coming from the top of the basket as the coffee brews, but no. I cleaned and locked that into place as well, making sure the stop brew was in the right place. The second problem, which probably won't bother most users, is it's messy pouring ability. I fill a thermos every morning with my coffee for the day. It's almost impossible to pour into the smaller mouth of a thermos without it leaking and throwing coffee everywhere. Even if I pour really, really slow, it is a messy operation. Frustrating.

We are in love with this machine. My entire family loves it for different reasons. My adult kids love the single serve function and speciality function. The frother works as expected you do have to heat the milk prior but you have time while the coffee is brewing. Only complaint is it does not have a hot pad at the bottom where the pot sits not sure if that's because we got the stainless steal pot on not. Other then that best maker we have had

I love this coffee pot! The coffee has so much more flavor than a Keurig or MrCoffee. I have had this coffee maker for over four months and it works great.
I researched the heck out of coffee makers and I wanted something reliable that makes great tasting coffee! Bingo
The only negative I have it the opening to the pot is a bit narrow so I can barely get my hand in to clean but it cleans perfectly in dishwasher top rack.
And it throws off a lot of steam but dissipates quickly.
The select a cup works terrific! You can easily make hot tea, cocoa, etc.
Would recommend seems like a nice unit !!!

I did buy this through the warehouse, so maybe Amazon was unaware that it was broken, but it doesn't work. I have followed instructions to run the first two water cycles before use and it doesn't work. It will run about a tablespoon of water and then prompts me to add water when the tank is full. Still new to the coffee world, spent most of my life not needing it, but now I'm old and everything hurts.
I want to give this 4.5/5 stars as my only complaints arent really with the coffee maker itself but some quality of life fixes they could improve upon in future designs. 1. Temp control- some coffee seem to brew better with varying temperatures within a 5° difference of each other at least. 2. An auto brew function. My parents are more the type to set it up the night before, set it on the timer to brew when they wake up so they dont have to deal with it too much in the AM. Why include a clock at all without this basic feature I dont know. 3: the frother is cool but just feels a bit unsturdy. Maybe make the frother button a switch rather than a button that you hold that makes me feel like I'm gonna snap it off one day? That being said, an awesome coffee maker and I highly recommend it despite these minor QOL issues. Keep on brewin!

I’m writing this review to address a problem a lot of people seem to have had with this unit. I also got the “er03” error message when I brought this unit home and plugged it in. I was super annoyed. Also the call center was closed when I called. But I realized it had been sitting in our mail locker in the cold and I wondered if the machine has a safety mechanism to prevent using the water heater when it is so cold. This could cause cracking or some other failure. So I waited for the unit to come to room temperature and I tried again. It worked! It’s only been a couple of days but I haven’t seen the error message return. I noticed as well that most of these reports come from the November-February months. Winter time. Perhaps their units were super cold as well. Who knows.
If you get this error message just wait a while and try again. Might work.

I was disappointed in order for me to make a full carafe of "rich" coffee I could not use the rich feature with full water, it only does half the carafe. Sometimes the coffee will not make a full carafe even at the classic settings and full water. Also found it today it will not automatically change the time to daylight savings time. I would return this but I think I am pass my warranty period. For the money we paid I expected more.

If you read on the Ninja website or other reviews, they mention that the speciality brew is not espresso & some day it’s frowned upon. I’ve been a coffee drinker for a long time and was a barista for some years, the speciality brew is pretty fricken good and the frother works exceptionally! The only thing that bothers me a bit is when making a latte you have to microwave your milk and then froth. It doesn’t steam your milk for you. BUT for an at home coffee maker that truly is all-in-one, I’m very happy with my purchase. I love that I can make drip coffee in all different sizes without wasting a plastic cup every time and without having multiple coffee brewers out.

BUY THIS COFFEE MACHINE!!!! Keurigs are NOT even a comparison! Too much useless plastic being used when using a Keurig. This coffee machine does EVERYTHING! I am a coffee stickler, and this makes the best cup of rich, warm, yummy coffee. If you like coffee hot, the stay warm feature is perfect for a family that has people waking up at different times. The frother also is amazing! I don’t add any creamer to coffee now unless it’s frothed. I’ve saved so much money using this machine cause I can make my favorite starbucks drinks (cold foam iced coffee) the ice coffee feature is also surprisingly good! Although it doesn’t make espresso, the concentrate button is similar to a shot of espresso, just not as creamy.

OMG! I'm in love with coffee again! I've gone through 2 Bunn Coffee makers and 6 or 7 Keurig's. I do like the Bunn product but in this world, we are looking for more versatile way's of making coffee and this... THIS... covered everything you would want in a coffee maker! I can make just one cup of coffee in multiple sizes or an entire pot! I can make it over ice... yum! I can set the timer and have my coffee ready when we wake up! The things I like about it I really like but there are a few things I don't like. I love that it does not use pods. My husband can use his travel mug to make his tea in the morning before work. My biggest complaint is that I cannot adjust the setting for my use. Everything is preset on the coffee maker. For my husband the travel mug setting gives him the perfect amount. For me I drink two cups of coffee from my favorite mug, half carafe is a little too much coffee but if I put the exact amount of water I need the machine runs out of water and the warming plate shuts off. I have to go over and turn on the warming plate. The other thing I don't like is that you can't dry the carafe by hand. The neck is too narrow to get your hand down in there, I use a brush to clean it. I like that the water tank is removable for easy cleaning and filling.

The thermal carafe version does not have any active heating. If your household drinks all its coffee within an hour or so, or doesn't use any cold milk/cream, then you're probably ok. At my house, we sip the pot for hours, then make more and keep sipping. The coffee gets cooler than I'd like to drink after about 90 minutes (although still hot enough if you take it black).
The other problem with the thermal carafe is that there is no way by just looking at it to know if it's empty or not. and since it's easier in my house to pop the reservoir off to fill, rather than using the carafe to fill with water (as with most other coffee makers), I have wound up setting the thing to make a full pot, with a carafe that already has 1/3 of a pot in it. The thing overflows and makes a huge mess. It's happened several times (I know, I'm dumb), but it's an easy mistake to make when you just woke up, you're nearly late for work, and the kids are screaming. You have to consciously remember to dump any residual coffee from before.
As for the flavor of the coffee: I use the rich setting with a paper filter (remember to fold down the pressed seam edges to get a better fit in the basket to prevent grounds from spilling over and getting in your coffee.) It is at least as good on this setting as my old coffee maker that cost several hundred dollars and billed itself as a "pour over" brewer. Very bold and well-steeped.
Haven't really used the specialty drink features. Seems like a lot of work.
I have brewed single cups with this, and it works well. The included scoop correlates with 2 cups worth of grounds on my coffee maker exactly, so I can pretty easily grind just the right amount of coffee. Depending on your grinder, though, it might not be easy to use the scoop to measure.
I'm gonna be honest... the manufacturer touts the "off switch" on the side of the filter basket, and it would be good, with some improvement. The idea is that, if you want to take the carafe out before brewing is done, you flip the switch, and it seals off the filter basket flow so you don't spill. The additional cool feature is that it stops the whole brewing process so no more water is boiled over. That's kind of a neat feature to prevent filter basket overflows if you get distracted in such a situation and forget to put it back and flip the switch back.
Only problem is that there isn't any indicator of which position the switch is in other than a pictographic sticker over the switch that honestly could be interpreted differently by different people. Obviously there is an electronic switch that gets flipped because the brewing process is electronically halted. There should be a light that indicates "brewing" or "not brewing" or something like that. If you forget to turn it back, your wife will go to make a pot the next morning, and the thing will light up, but nothing will happen. Unless she is an awesome gadget troubleshooter before her first cup of coffee in the morning while the kids are screaming, she's not gonna figure it out, and she's gonna get really mad at you, and you're getting divorced. Say goodbye to half your stuff.

Received my coffee maker today (was supposed to receive it yesterday), plugged it in. Error 03 message came up on the screen. Looked it up in the manual and it said I need to contact a representative. Called them and they said that the error message on the screen means the product is defective and can't be used. After spending about a half hour on the phone with the company they said they would send me a new one free of charge when I send the other one back. For those of you who wait to try your product out don't, If you wait more than 3 days you will be charged for shipping your old one back and the new one to you. Hopefully the new one they are sending me works. This is my first time buying a Ninja product and will most likely be the last.

Great coffee pot. Very easy to clean and refill the water. My husband who retired from new product design engineer said finally a well thought out product design. Looks are appealing, easy to fill water reservoir and coffee grinds. Makes a good cup of coffee and the pot and spout are well designed, no coffee drips or spills. Not sure why some complained about coffee splatters, maybe this is redesigned?

This was a gift for my husband - the coffee drinker in the family. We have gone through two Kuerigs and I refuse to buy another. We no longer have to buy expensive K-cups and my husband says that the coffee (He made espresso) is better than Starbucks. He feels he is saving $5 a cup of espresso. This unit will brew a pot or a single cup of various sizes of coffee. When using a single cup, the burner isn't on so we don't have to worry about leaving the coffee pot on and burning the house down. It is attractive and has a frothing mechanism that can be folded away to save space.

I would exercise judgement with this item. While I was pouring myself a cup on my second day of owning this, the lid fell off the container which caused the burning hot coffee to fall all over my left hand resulting in severe burns. Be careful. The coffee maker itself is fine and seems nice but I would not use the included carafe for your safety.

I love this coffee maker! I’m a coffee buff but still I was hesitant to pay this price, now I’m so glad I did. I can have my coffee in the morning - classic or rich, whole or half carafe or just a cup. I can also easily make a latte or cappuccino in the afternoon. All at the touch of a button! It is an attractive, sophisticated coffee maker but it is very simple to use. I am 70 years old and sometimes have difficulty with new devices, but not with this product. It is totally visually self-explanatory. Thank you Ninja for the perfect coffee maker!

All in all a very good, well built, nice design coffee maker. I have other Ninja products and they are all good well built quality machines I am a bit disappointed that the swing out 'frothing' tool does not actually steam milk ( as I kinda expected it would do ) instructions say to get hot milk for an espresso style beverage, you heat your milk in the microwave...not really the same ? I went back and read the product description, and it does not say that it steams milk, calls it a frothing tool...for espresso drinks. I guess I just assumed it also would steam heat and froth the milk.. other than that it has many good and well thought out features. I like the removable water reservoir, swing out basket, coffee scoop attached to side, multi function of brew sizes : full pot, 1/2 pot, one cup, travel mug..etc. Only thing on this that I'd of liked to see is permanent ounce size on the front. When I unpacked it there was a sticker (said remove) this sticker had all the actual ounce size of XL cup, travel mug, one cup.. when you remove the sticker you lose this information. I remedy it by cutting out all the little stickers and placing near the cup size (first tryed leaving in place) but the brew size choice is illuminated , so if you leave the sticker over top, you can't see it.. I recommend this machine ( if you're not expecting to get top grade steamed espresso style beverage ) the frothing wand does froth milk pretty good...(but it just isn't the same..) 12/29/2019 update * the frothing tool really whips up an excellent froth to your drink ...(yes, you must first microwave your milk to get it hot) but I've moved past this now, am really enjoying my new Ninja ... For the cost point it can't be beaten !! I've now used ALL the features.. one cup, travel mug, specialty brew, half pot, whole pot, frothing wand... I love it.. 4.5 stars..1/2 star because it doesn't steam your milk.. (haven't tried iced yet) but ? I'm sure this works fine..

Error code required phone call to Ninja -- no info online about what Err 3 meant. Advised it indicated a "failure" which is how I see this purchase. The coffee maker is nice but it's a lot to pay for something with poor quality control and the only real whistle is that it has a milk frother (not heater, just frother). For the money and trouble, you might pass on this one.

I wanted a coffee maker that can brew a single cup for just me a regular basis and a full pot for when we have guests. I’ve had this for a week now and have used it everyday. I LOVE this coffee maker!! I program it to brew a single XL mug every weekday morning. On the weekend I brewed a half carafe. The coffee is hot and the stay warm feature for the carafe is very convenient. I’ve followed the user guide’s suggestion for amount of coffee grounds and used the Ninja smart scoop for both brew types, and the coffee has been very good for both. I haven’t used the frother or specialty brew types yet, but I’m confident they will be good. I hope this coffee maker stands up to the test of time because I absolutely love it. Overall, if you want a coffee maker that can brew multiple types and sizes, I highly recommend!

Let ne tell you, kuerig is good, but this pot is better...2 reasons mainly among many, but the k cups are expensive and this has a serving spoon right on the side for small, big, travel, half pot full pot options. I drink alot of coffee, my wife as well. Now my wife drinks way more because of the frother, she loves the froth with whip and creamer. It brews it withing 2to 3 minutes depending on size cup 5 minutes for pot. I cant say a bad thin about it. Owned for almost 3 months now and best pot ive ever owned. Easy cleaning. 2nd great thing is well selextion dial is easy to use, has drip stop, and filter is so easy to clean. If there is one thing i cld say to make this review look legit. The filter does allow the smallest of grain powder thru. Last sip of coffee has powder...cld buy cloth filters to stop but it doesnt bother me. To me i keep the coffee stirred, it the cups that sit for a 10 minute phone call that acquire that powder. Has iced coffee option espresso option...even my guy who owns a kuerig says he gonna get one. I spent 1.29 4 to 5 times a day at kwik trip for coffee before i repurchased another pot...6 dollars a day 7 days a week...42 dollars...4 weeks a month ...168 in a month...after 2 minth pot pays for itself.

I purchased this unit in September from amazon. At first I loved it. Then it developed an incredibly annoying problem where it stopped being able to brew the desired amount of coffee. There was more and more residual water left in the tank. This morning it was unable to empty the tank more than halfway for my travel cup of coffee. I called SharkNinja and spoke with a very difficult to understand customer service representatives. On a positive note, after 30 minutes spent troubleshooting it and attempting to run a clean cycle, they agreed to completely replace the unit with a brand new unit. I then filtered Amazon reviews and discovered that all the one star reviews have a similar issue and were all purchased around the time that I purchased my unit. The ninja representative let me know that apparently a whole lot of machines manufactured at the same time as my unit, have the same problem and they are replacing units completely. I will be happy to update this review and give the product the stars it deserves if the replacement unit performs as expected. It really is a good coffee maker and I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

I never knew I could love a coffee maker this much. We got this on Black Friday when our Hamilton Beach bought a year previously broke that morning, it was a sign from god! I feel like we got this machine for a STEAL!
We are saving so much more coffee grounds, it takes half of what our old one did and is stronger in taste, maybe due to the funnel shape of the filter? Every piece of this thing comes apart for easy cleaning. We’ve tried every cup size variation and they’re all great. The milk frother is AMAZING, didn’t know that I would value it as much as I do. It folds in and out and comes on and off to clean, it’s quiet and froths quickly. It even comes with a scoop that attaches to the side telling you how many scoops you need for each cup/carafe size you choose.
I am so impressed with this coffee maker, we’re excited to make coffee every morning! BUY THIS, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

We have been looking into getting a new coffee maker for quite some time. We love our French press but it’s only good for a few cups of coffee at most. We were looking into a single cup type maker but don’t like trash generated by it. So when I saw this Ninja coffee maker I had to check out all the reviews I could find. It has several brew options, programmable, and it didn’t use k-cups. So happy we decided on this coffee maker. Setup was super easy, programming it for the morning is as easy as the setup. Fresh hot coffee for both of us with out having to make multiple pots. Coffee stays hot for hours in the thermal carafe ( we decided on the stainless version) I will definitely buy it again to replace this one when the time comes.

5 stars so far. I've been doing the single serve cup thing for several years now out of convenience. I had a cup of coffee at a local breakfast place that roasts their own and it reminded me how coffee should taste. I started reading reviews and checked the SCA website for approved makers. I chose the Ninja CM401 based on reviews and moderate price. I've only used it one day so far but am extremely pleased. I've only used the Classic and Rich settings so far but the flavor is there. For a single cup so far I prefer three scoops of freshly ground medium roast with the travel mug on the Classic setting. True coffee taste, no bitterness. I even used the contents from a single serve brewer cup to brew a single cup at the settings mentioned and was somewhat surprised at how good the result was. Pleased I can use my remaining single brew cups for a cup of coffee the single cup brewers can't match. Take some advice and if you're a slave to the convenience of a single cup brewer it only takes a little more effort to grind your own and make a great cup of coffee with this or another SCA accredited brewer. I'm so glad I went back to grinding my own and highly recommend the Ninja CM401. I'll update on longevity, but so far so good.

It works well but as it advertises specialty coffee drinks I did not notice that it does not make espresso. Only strong regular coffee. Also the delay brew timer has to be set every night-it doesn’t keep a saved time for the morning. The pot itself is very difficult to clean well without a brush as the neck is both tapered and quite narrow at the top.

I would like to start off with disclosing that I hate coffee. I have never liked it, not even the smell. However, I am married to a man that enjoys a cup or two on the weekends, so I am destined to be around it in some capacity. That being said, I wanted his next coffee maker to be something that we could both enjoy, as well as share with our kids. He has had Keurigs in the past, and while I like the appeal of 1 cup brewing, there wasn't much for me or the kids to take part in. Yes, we could brew tea or hot chocolate, but whoop dee doo.
Enter the Ninja coffee station. My husband has been using this almost every morning to brew himself a travel mug of coffee to take to work. I have been using it almost everyday to create chai latte tea in the morning. And the kids love it for making hot chocolate with frothy warmed milk instead of just water. We (family of 4) have all used this thing already after only owning it for a week. We have bought new coffee mugs and travel mugs, different kinds of milk, different syrups and creams for mixing in our drinks ... it's renewed our interests in brewing things at home instead of running through Starbucks (which, let's be honest, isn't THAT great).
I highly recommend this machine to anyone - coffee drinkers or not - as you will find some use for it.

This is the first "fancy" coffee maker I've ever had and in some ways, I liked my cheap Mr. Coffee better. The Ninja carafe is much smaller and doesn't hold as much coffee as my old coffee maker did and you can't get your hand in there to clean it or dry it. My old coffee maker's delay brew was saved to Auto and I didn't ever have to change it unless I needed to. The Ninja Delay Brew has to be entered every single night for the following morning. I'm considering returning it because for something that costs this much, it shouldn't lack the auto delay brew feature. But the coffee does taste better and is very hot!

I have been a coffee drinker for over 35 years. Never before have I had such strong feelings for a drip-brewer. Ninja absolutely nailed it with this model; they got every detail just right.
Brew Time: I usually brew a half pot at a time, which yields three large mugs. The coffee is fully ready in just a matter of minutes. But, if I can't wait for the entire pot to finish...
Drip-Stop: Yes, many machines have them. Ninja designed one that works. I was skeptical the first time I used it, but I am a believer now. When I remove the pot mid-brew with the drip-stop on, no coffee drips from the basket. Beautiful.
Removable Basket: The basket has a flat bottom so you can rest it on the counter or scale to fill it with your favorite coffee. It comes with a gold mesh filter, but you can also use your paper filters.
Brew Temp: I have not measured it, but the coffee comes out the perfect temperature for me.
Cleaning: Clean-up is super easy. I love that you can remove the water tank to really scrub it. The carafe has a wide mouth so you can get in there with a bottle brush. The outside of the maker is easy to wipe down with a damp rag. The coffee maker does NOT spit coffee all over the place when brewing, so don't expect to have a mess after each pot.
Scoop: This may seem like a little thing, but I absolutely love the scoop! It attaches to the side of the coffee maker so you don't lose it. And, it's marked to show you exactly how much coffee to use for your desired strength. Amazing.
There are so many little details that I love about this coffee maker. Just get it.

I love this thing. I've been using it for about two months now, after finally upgrading from a crappy Mr. Coffee. There are some unnecessary bells & whistles (for me, the milk frothing attachment), but it's cool-looking, it gets the job done, and it's very easy to use. Features I especially love: 1. being able to extend the keep-warm time beyond two hours (I have it set to three) 2. being able to make a single cup if I want (no more contributing to landfills with K-cups!) 3. Being able to choose the strength of the coffee (espresso to "classic"). If there is one down side, I'm not too keen on the limitations of the normal coffee brew--you only get two sizes, "half a pot" and a "whole pot," which is somewhat inconvenient for me (I never drink an entire half pot on my own, so some always goes to waste). It would be nice if you could just choose how much water you want to use, but pish posh, it's just a darned nice coffee maker. I feel like it's sturdy and will last much longer than my last one(s)--fingers crossed.

This is the best coffee maker I have ever had. I love the fact it can do any drink I could ever want and any size. I have told many people how great it is. I am very satisfied with this purchase. It can do a small cup, and large cup, half a pot, a full put, a concentrated brew almost like an espresso, iced coffee, milk frothing, and it has a delay brew feature as well that is very easy to use. It’s so nice to wake up to fresh coffee already made. The water reserve lasts a good amount of time as well! Overall fantastic product.

My new Ninja Coffee Maker arrived two days ago. Everything is there and I did exactly what it said to do, ran two pots of water through before making a pot of coffee. Yesterday morning I made my first pot....my first cup of coffee was wonderful!!! When my husband got up a couple of hours later, he had a cup and it was still nice and hot, but not overcooked, as would happen in my old pot with a glass carafe that stayed on the burner. I would recommend this pot to anyone that wants great coffee!

Buy it. It's seriously amazing. Wish we would've got it a year ago.
The only weird thing is the size of the opening on the carafe- my tiny hand can barely fit in there to wash so you'll have to rely on a dish brush which isn't great because coffee residue sometimes requires hand scrubbing with a cloth or sponge.

So far I really like the Ninja coffee maker, its my first serious coffee maker and so far I'm glad I bought it. I had to replace my second regular cheap coffee maker for the second time in 2 years so I opted for a fancy one. I wanted one that could do multiple size cups and have different strengths, this fit the bill. The only thing I wished, was it was made to use espresso beans with it as well but its not. So far I have tried the classic strength, rich, and the ice coffee function with different sized cups and its all been great. The removable water tank is very convenient.
The only thing that brings it down besides not being able to use espresso beans without grinding them just right, is the price. It turns out I could have bought this machine $20-$30 less at different stores in person not online...

This is the best coffee maker I own it so far. Has everything I need to make a great and restaurant style coffee. First time I'm using a coffee maker that can make ice coffee! I really enjoy making different types of coffee cold and hot. Very easy to operate with different sizes to choose as your convenience and life style. I like it has a reusable filter and a removable water container for easier use and cleaning. No more wasted money with the pods and bad quality coffee. Now I can say I drink real and rich coffee. This is hands down my favorite coffee maker I have owned. It makes an amazing cup, or pot of coffee. It is so versatile and no matter if you make a small cup or a whole pot the coffee taste great.i love that it comes with a scoop (which conveniently attaches to the coffee maker) that tells you how many scoops go put for each size brew. It also has a milk frother that swings out from the side for when you want fancier drinks! The coffee maker not only brews different sizes but you can also choose between a classic, rich, specialty brew or even Brew over Ice. One last feature that is very important to me is the keep warm. You can turn it up to 4 hours! There isn't a single thing i would change about this coffee maker [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got sick of instant coffee so I gave the Ninja a try. I love making my own special coffees whenever I want without having to leave my own home! This coffee maker is super freaking fast, too! The old coffee pots in my past always took at least 10 minutes (OR MORE) to brew a pot of coffee. However, I timed this one from when I pressed the button to start the brew and I marked it at 5 minutes. I am so glad that I won't ever have to buy any coffee filters, either! Clean up of both the carafe and the permanent filter is super easy. The heavy-duty plastic measuring spoon can't ever get lost and I don't have to find a special place to put it and I don't have to guess how much coffee grounds I need to put into the filter for a whole or half pot or just a mug becuase it's molded into the handle of the measurer! There's no need to worry that any of my mugs won't fit for the single cup because there's plenty of space and there's no splash-back, either. My coffee is plenty hot, so I don't have to worry about rushing to slug it down before it gets cold. I love that I can let it sit turned on and it'll keep the coffee in the carafe piping hot for 2 hours and if I want that to last longer, I can do 4 hours. It does beep when it's done brewing so you don't forget about it. It also brews super quiet! I was worried about waking my hubby since our last coffee pot woke him up all the time. Not this one! Very quiet. I like that! The other things that I liked were that I could froth my milk right then and there and attaching the part for the frother is super easy anddoesn't require any tools. It's also easy to clean. The downside is that there is no built-in storage area to hold that piece! I was worried about making iced coffee in the carafe, but it's built to withstand that! So, no cracked, busted and broken carafe! Everything is welll-lit on the front so you know exactly how much and what size you're brewing, too. It's not gigantic, either, so it's not taking up a ton of counter space! Plus, there are some really good recipes included in the booklet that comes with it. I have ran through so many coffee machines in the last few years that I would consider myself somewhat as an expert these days. I have had 3 k-cup machines from the popular brand, and also a top of the line nespresso machine. I noticed this machine last year since a family member purchased it, but it didn’t interest me until now. I found myself going back to coffee shops because no matter what I could not get my k cups to taste like decent coffee, and vertuoline pods were expensive and tasteless.
I used the quick start guide right off the bat and proceeded to brew my blueberry coffee. For the first time after using, I could actually taste the flavor at its best! The machine itself is aesthetically pleasing, and it does the job of brewing, frothing, and creating specialty espresso drinks with such ease and perfection. There are so many settings and accessories that are included in the compact design that you can make whatever coffee you want. I am actually upset I spent so much money on buying other little machines, frothers, capsules, etc when all along this machine includes everything you need. The price is not cheap but it honestly does the job of about 4 separate machines that costs double what this does. I feel like this machine is what I have been missing and has really increased the quality of my home brewing system. Everything is so easy to use and clean. I couldn’t be happier to throw out my old coffee machines that were big and bulky and replacing it with this machine as my everyday. Love love love it and I would recommend this 100 percent.

This is my second Ninja coffee maker. I have been using one of the older models for a few years now after dumping my Keurig. It has served me well but I decided to try this newer model because of the attached frother. My old one came with a glass with a manual frother which worked well but having the attached one is much easier. Overall, it still makes great coffee. I used to use the paper filters but this model came with the screen type. I can taste a slight difference using that over paper (I have tried both with my new machine). I find the screen filter tastes cleaner. Hard to describe but that is the best I can do.
One of the downsides to this machine is that it is very big. Probably 50% bigger than my old one so I had to make more room on my already cluttered counter. I am guessing that the extra size is due to the motor for the frother. If not, then this design is flawed in the space saving category. The coffee grind pot area is easier to use than my old one. This one swings to the left rather than pull straight out and there is a top tray that easily comes out to wash so I don’t have to take the entire section off like the old one. The water reservoir also comes out easier with no twisting and locking needed. Just drops in. There are 2 additional settings for size on this machine. An extra-large cup and extra-large travel mug. The travel mug one is very nice as it fills my oversized mug I bring on long trips.
I have made all of the different types of coffee such as classic brew, rich, iced and specialty. The machine is quieter than my old one and seems faster at brewing. As already stated, the coffee comes out great. I do have an issue with the frother. Probably my mistake on understanding what it does. I have an espresso machine that uses water from the reservoir to make steam for the frothing. It heats the milk during the process. I assumes this did something similar but it does not. If you want warm milk, you need to heat it up in the microwave before frothing. Otherwise, the frother will just make cold froth. It is OK though as I can heat the milk while the coffee is being made. But it would be nice for a future model to add ability to heat the milk during the frothing.
My only other complaint is that I can’t find a storage clip or spot for the frother attachment. The measuring spoon has one so would have thought there would be one for the attachment. No such luck unless I am blind. But overall, another great coffee maker that will hopefully serve me well for many years.

I think I've accumulated every type of coffee maker known to man, bordering on the need for a family intervention or a 10 step program. From a monster espresso machine from Italy, to pod devices, to numerous French presses, to touch screen automated brewers. So when I was offered one more machine to view and review, the photos looked intriguing enough to have a closer look. I know Ninja is a brand name that many people are enamored with especially for their Bullet Blender that makes shakes and smoothies so convenient, but strangely I've never purchased or used any of their products. Could they possibly have created a coffee maker that raises an eyebrow. I requested it to review but had limited expectations. I just finished running it through its paces and can say I am duly impressed. They seemed to really have thought of everything.
I have always loved simplicity and for the design of anything to follow function. No matter your status, brewing for a family or a single cup, preferring a standard brew or full bodied, drinking it right away or keeping it warm up to 4 hours, as well as timing your brew to be made exactly the moment you're waking up. It's all thought of and included here.
First, I am so over machines with pods. Yes, of course, they are convenient. But the cost per cup is much higher, and much more disconcerting, is that I read how many millions of those plastic pods are generated as trash every day and it is an astounding waste. This machine has a permanent brew filter or you can use paper filters if you are so inclined for some reason. There's a measuring tool that mounts to the side of the machine to remind you of the correct amount of grounds to add for the type of brew you prefer and the size of the batch. It comes with a carafe for a full pot brew, or you can fold down the small side stand to place a conventional cup there for a single cup brew. If you're on the go, place your travel cup under the spout and press the button for that quantity. The simple dial mechanism allows you to choose from 6 settings as to quantity. There are three buttons that designate the strength of the brew, allowing the coffee to be held in the grounds longer for a stronger brew. Want to set a timer so your coffee is ready when you wake up. It's a simple setup. No mechanical engineering degrees required or head scratching involved! You can fill the water tank either by flipping up the lid as it stands in place to add water, or the tank lifts out to take it over to the sink to fill it from your filter spout there if you prefer or for cleaning. Is that about it. Nope. They even thought of a frothing arm that swings out from the left side of the machine. Froth your milk before adding it to your brew. The wand comes off with a half turn to simply rinse it under the faucet for easy cleanup. I measured the temperature of the coffee brew and it's right around 175 degrees. The unit is plastic, but it all feels very sturdy and well constructed. Brewing a full pot but you can't wait and want that first cup pronto? You can flip a lever on the front and it stops the flow into the carafe. Pour your first cup, replace the carafe, flip the switch and the remainder of the brew will continue. Are there any negatives? Honestly, the only thing I could think of is that the unit is a little tall, though it should fit under any cabinets. Aesthetically, I think it has a very modern and efficient look to it, especially if you're brewing just one cup and the cup is sitting suspended on that fold down holder.
Before your first use, you're instructed to run two full pots of hot water brewed without coffee in the filter initially to make certain it's clean and sterilized. I'll report back if i discover any issues going forward that didn't jump out initially. But I sincerely report that this is a machine that is not inexpensive since it doesn't do extra chores like grind your beans. But it's functionality, it's diversity, ability to brew a single cup, to adjust the brew strength and time the brew begins, to interrupt a carafe for an impatient cup as well as ease of cleaning and aesthetic look, Ninja created a highly desirable machine well worth your consideration.
