all-clad kz750d stainless steel immersion blender with detachable shaft

Can this be used with 220 V?

only 120 volts when wired. So NO, 220 volts won't make it work.

What makes this better than a standard blender?

In no particular order, these benefits are as follows: it's really simple to clean; you can blend food directly in the pan; you can partially blend food, for example, to thicken a soup; it is incredibly effective at blending because you can move it around without having to scrape down the sides of a canister; there are no extra parts to clean; and it doesn't take up any counter space. I could go on, but this is all I can think of right now.

How simple is it to use while keeping the button pressed? Is a bodybuilder's death grip necessary?

The most force is not needed to press the button. What takes brute strength is trying to keep the tool off the bottom of the container. This machine has impressive power. It's simpler to leave it on the bottom and gently rock it to keep things going.

I have been using my immersion blender for 4 years. Perfect for creamed soups, smoothies, and coffee drinks.

I replaced a cheaper immersion blender after 6 years and decided to splurge on AllClad - should have done my homework a little more carefully. This tool is powerful and the motor is good but it is oversized, poorly balanced, heavy and the shaft has a tendency to begin to unlock/loosen while using it. My other one which fit into large mouth mason jars the 3 inch head diameter won't fit into any standard containers. Its unusual size means that at the very least it should have come with a blending cup. I have been using a glass 4 cup measuring pitcher but since it is very challenging to find something that is big enough but not oversized for the smaller portions I tend to make in my kitchen. Sadly, the intelligent design that I have come to expect just isn't here - what happened AllClad?

I PURCHASED 2 YEARS AGO AND SINCE THAT TIME USED IT AT LEAST 6-7 TIMES ( MISSING SAUSES, CRUSHING CANNED TOMATOES) NO PROBLEMS, EASY TO USE, EASY TO CLEAN. GAVE 2 OF MY FRIENDS BLENDER AS A GIFT AND THEY LIKE IT TOO. NOT SURE ABOUT ALL PRIOR REVIEWS WITH ISSUES... I LOVE IT!!!

Same as as so many others. Blade fell out and won't stay put. Very poor quality and for the price, garbage. The gasket that temporarily holds it together and prevents food from getting into the shaft is virtually useless and too cheap and thin to manually reinstall. It's a onetime factory installation gasket that fails quickly. I can honestly say this is my last allclad purchase.

I am appalled at your customer service. I purchased your immersion Blender over a year ago. Used it a total of 5 times and the plastic workings in the blade snapped. Now you want me to pay to repair it. Thanks for standing by your products. I've been an all clad user since the 90's. Now I won't ever again shame on your!!!

This immersion blender has made my morning smoothies so much easier! I was using a blender before this and not only does it make for a smoother mix, clean up is a breeze! I love the soft feeling of the non slip grip on the handle, and the adjustable speed is great! There is also a turbo button for the stubborn stuff! The handheld blender is actually a bit larger than I expected, but still super easy to manipulate. It has a very smooth vibration and is actually really quiet, which surprised and delighted me! No more waking the kids up from the noise of my blender to make my breakfast!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is our 3rd immersion blender and all have been a disappointment. This one we used about 4 times. It worked until we dropped the blade attachment onto a wooden floor at a distance of less than 4'. The blade component popped out of its compression fitting in the neck of the attachment, and cannot be put back together. You cannot buy replacement parts. I agree with others that the design makes it impossible to clean fully behind the circular metal plate that backs the blade. It sits in a white rubber gasket, but not tightly enough to keep food from getting behind the plate.

I thought I had purchased the immersion blender by which all immersion blenders were judged. It worked beautifully, until one day, the blade portion fell apart. It was disappointing because it really was a nice one.

I am using this immersion blender since almost 10 years and I am very happy with its performance. It is unwaveringly strong, purees, blends, mixes everything from soups to smoothies to shakes and everything in between. The cleaning up is also very easy and I like the large head as the splattering is quite reduced.

The shaft seal under the blade is poorly designed so there is space under the bottom plate where food can hide. I dissembled it but it is not designed for taking apart. I know if food could get in water could get in too so theoretically it could be cleaned but could it be dried? and can I know if it is clean. So in my mind this is a food safety issue.
