I love this appliance as well. It was a Mother's Day gift from my husband. Love my berry smoothies. It does a much better job than my big blender. Unfortunately, mine just did the exact same thing. It was making a funny noise. I unsnapped it from the base. There was some smoke. The blade had dropped out of the base and was loose. It was shaving the plastic in rings from the base as it spun. :( How do I get a new base piece?

We bought this blender a year or so ago, and I use it every morning. Unfortunately the blade just fell out a few days ago and chopped up some of the chopper lid before I could turn it off. Luckily we had bought extra bottles that came with an extra chopper, so I can keep using it, but it was really nice having 2, and kind of scary when it came off.

This blender worked well and I really like the smoothie program! However we have had it for only 2 months and now the base broke and there is no replacement part. If they could just produce a hardier replacement!

I bought this blender because it was recommended by a friend! Worst purchase ever, I've only used it a couple of times since October and the plastic base leaks...

I have had a few black and Decker products, I have a food processor that I've had for over 10 years and works marvelously. But the fusion system for the blender and the blender bottle are horrible. When I tried it out for the first time it wasn't even able to crush ice, there was No vortex created inside the blender or the bottle that allowed the blades to do their job. Needless to say it was returned and I went with a better model and brand of blender.

We used this blender to make salsas and Chile colorado. It was the best blender I had ever purchased but shortly after months, it started to leak. I have attempted to get the part replaced by B&D and totally disappointment .
