I have made two separate chickens in this Crock Pot. I had both on high, and they were nicely done within a 6 hour window on high. The counter top underneath was not affected, something I was worried about needlessly. Very easy to set up, and the insert pot comes out easily to go right into the dishwasher or sink once you remove your food. I would suggest that you not use a lot of strong smelling items, such as onions or garlic in excess, for your whole place will smell very pungent for hours. My next project will be to make some tapioca pudding in the pot. I am not much of a cook, but this is little work for a good result. Buy without worry!

I had an older one that worked, but when I got this one I completely fell in love with it. I have actually been researching recipes to make just so I can use it. The one thing I loved the most about it, is that once it finishes cooking for your selected amount of time (4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, or 10 hours) it doesn't just turn off. Instead it switches over to "warm" mode & keeps your food warm for you. Once you are done using the product, you can easily fit it in the dishwasher (which is another huge plus). I would definitely recommend this product!!!

Being a girl on "the go", I love cooking with a crock pot. The fact that I can put my meal together in the morning and its ready when I get home is AMAZING! This crock pot has a press panel and you can choose 4hr/6hr low, or 8h/10hr high. So if you want to cook for a different time, I suggest picking the closest time and switch it to warm manually. You may have to play with it the first few times, to get the timing right. The first time I tried it on low, and my food took way longer than expected to cook. That was total bummer, since i was starving! It also has a switch to warm feature is awesome for unattended cooking. This way your food won't burn or get dried out. The shape of this crock pot is great. It is oval, rather than circular, and is big enough to fit a whole roast comfortably. It makes a perfect amount for me and my boyfriend as well as leftovers! Overall, I think this crock pot is perfect for a small family or couple. If you want something easy to use and inexpensive this is the way to go.

This is a fantastic little Slow Cooker! At first glance it looks kind of small but I was amazed to see how much I could put into the pot! A nice sized pot roast, 4 large potatoes, a small bag of carrots, a half of a large container of fresh mushrooms, a can of green beans and a whole sweet onion. Wow! That's a lot of food! The Smart Pot comes out of the base so when dinner is done, just cool the pot and then refrigerate for left overs. No looking for a plastic storage container to refrigerate your left overs. The next day, just lift the pot out of the refrigerater and insert into the base and press the "On" button. There are four VERY simple settings to choose from. When all the left overs are gone, lift the base out, rinse and put into the dishwasher along with the lid. Very simple and easy to clean up! This Slow Cooker is not big and bulky like a lot of other Slow Cookers are and fits on any counter top in your kitchen. It's perfect to put your dinner in early in the morning, and when you come home from work, or you've had a full day of errands, dinner is served! The only con I can see with this Smart Pot is that it does get very hot on the outside. So be sure to keep it out of the way of children. The handles stay cool so you can move it, but I would advise using pot holders so you do not touch the base at all. All in all this is a great little Slow Cooker! My dinner came out absolutely perfect. THANKS SMART POT for making my life a little easier!!

This 4-quart Crock Pot can find a place and fit right in to any home no matter the size. It has proven to be a blessing in disguise for me and my family. It's a 4-quart pot, so it's not big enough for me to make a dinner meal for my family of 8. However, I have found this to be an awesome compliment to a 6-quart that I have had for some time now. It is digital and sleek; Easy to use right out the box. The directions include recipes for crock pot beginners. I am not a beginner but certainly not a pro at set- it-and-forget-it meal cooking. You would think because it's designed to make meals for 2-4 people (a couple or small family) that it would be useless for large families. However, I have discovered it to be quite useful and valuable for my large family. I use it to make singular meals for myself or my husband. I put the meals in containers and my husband has food for lunch at work for the week. Also, as I progressively grow healthy in the types of foods I eat this pot awakens my creativity and it gives me options for creating healthy meals for myself. I'm considering a Paleo diet and where the rest of my family can enjoy meals with carbs and grains, I can make a separate Paleo-friendly version of the same meal in a separate pot. I guess I could do that in regular pots and pans, but it wouldn't be the same because you can't set-it and forget-it with regular pots. Not to mention that clean up is super easy with a Crock Pot. And while I'm on the subject of cooking healthy meals, I don't know how many times I've made a large pot of something healthy or tried out a new recipe only to have everyone but me hate it. That leaves a huge waste of food because I typically will only eat about 3 days worth of leftovers. This size pot makes it easy to try out a new recipe because it's large enough for everyone to get a small serving, but not so large that if they don't like it I have a large amount of food that ends up being wasted. Bottom line, this pot can be a welcome addition to any size home.

I was really impressed with this slow cooker. I have had larger ones in the past and unless I am making up a batch of food to freeze, we wound up wasting most of the food. The smaller size allows you to make a single meal without the worry of wasting any. I also like how it does not take up much room on the counter top. That is one thing I dislike about the larger ones. I love the fact that it has an automatic timer setting. You can pick how many hours you want it to cook and it will automatically switch to "Keep Warm" once you hit your time limit. On the other ones I have had you have to physically watch the time and then switch it to warm if you do not want the food to burn. I chose to make us some chicken tortilla soup. It turned out great! First thing I did was put a whole chicken fryer in the crock pot and let it cook for about 4 to 6 hours. This way it is really tender and you get all of the natural stock for the soup. After the time is up I take the bird out of the cooker and let it cool so I can pick all of the bones out of it. Then I open a can of rotel and a bag of frozen tomatoes(you can use canned ones) and add to the crock pot. I then saute some onion and garlic and cumin in olive oil in a skillet. Once the are translucent I add them to the pot. I cut up some bell peppers and a jalapeno. After that I add the shredded chicken and season with salt and pepper. I let this simmer in the pot for a couple more hours and then it is ready!! If you simmer longer the flavors come together more but it is totally up to you. Sometimes it is hard to wait because it smells so good :) It turned out perfect! I would suggest using a small chicken fryer or even a couple of chicken breasts. Mainly because the size of the pot. You may have too much meat if you use a large bird. I really did like this Crock pot! Great size, cooked perfect and easy to clean!

Just got the Crock Pot brand slow cooker, in spite of a few mediocre reviews I'd read, I have to say that I'm glad I took the chance -- it works wonderfully. I like the change from my old mechanically switched cooker. This has an easy to use control panel. The LEDs let you know at a glance what the cooker is set to. This takes all the doubt out of slow cooking! I also wanted something smaller for myself but large enough to hold a roasting chicken. This is it. Put a 2 pound roast in yesterday morning (on top of a potato cut in chunks, some mini carrots and a small onion cut into chunks, a few tomatoes peeled and diced and some beef broth - surprised that it all fit!, sprinkled the top with some thyme, and set it for 10 hours on low. I got home later than expected. Came home to find that it had finished cooking & shifted to the "warm" setting, just as promised. Steaming hot.I very much like this change to a slightly smaller cooker. Next will be a chicken for roasting... and then pork chops drizzled with bbq sauce. A slow cooker makes me into a slow cooking “chef” without any effort at all! Buy it - you'll like it.

This little Crock-Pot looks great and is a space saver. We usually use our larger 8 quart slow cooker, but took the time to try out this smaller version. The touch button controls are easy to use and it's easy to see what has been selected. I very much like that when it has finished cooking it automatically switches over to warm. My first dish in this was to make some shredded chicken burritos. We placed in 6 frozen chicken breasts and chose the high cook time of 6 hours. Typically in our larger unit we have been able to have the chicken, from frozen state, done within 6 hours. This unit did not seem to have the heat needed to do the job in 6 hours. Once the 6 hours was up we had to turn it back on high to finish the job. It took about an hour longer. For a small family and small jobs I think this will do the job. We will use the big cooker for the big jobs. We will stick to using this unit for jobs, such as, soups, stews, and chili. The small 4 quart looks good, performs alright, and does not take up to much room on the counter top.

This crock pot has a 4 quart capacity and should work well for 1-4 people. The stoneware and lid are dishwasher safe, the stoneware is oven and microwave safe. It cleans up easy with soap and hot water. It has 2 low settings (8 and 10 hours) and 2 high settings (4 and 6 hours) and a warm setting. We cooked chicken and dumplings in it and even a stew and my favret was the pot roast that I made. I am and mother of 2 little girls and I work and clean house and always on the go so with a crock pot that I can set to cook and switch to worm setting makes life so easy. My boyfriend works and who knows when he will be hm so I cook dinner in it and to have it switch to worm and eat when it's done and leave it there on worm is nice. It's even dish washer safe. I love how the lid is see threw and light weight. The middle comes out and makes life easy. You can set it on the table if u want but use a pot holders to place it on and Cary it because it gets really really hot on the inside and out. The color is black on the inside and out.

I have a very small nonprogrammable crock pot that I've had for over ten years. It works well but I can't set it to a certain time frame nor can I add very many vegetables to the meat since it's so small. I would have to cook mostly just the meat and make my veggies separate. With this four quart Smart Pot I have enough room to add the meat and plenty of vegetables all together. I also don't have to be home to turn it off when it's done. I absolutely love it. I have only used it on the low eight hour setting. I rarely ever use a high setting because I like for my meat to cook slowly all day so it comes out perfectly tender. This way I can be away from the house even when it's almost time to cut it off so it doesn't over cook. I love the ability to program the crock pot as I can do with my convection oven. I also like the glass top so I can see how things are cooking. My crock pot has a plastic top that you can no longer see through due to the buildup on it. Since I'm reviewing and rating this product, I give it an A+ or on a scale….a ten. Thanks for allowing me to review this product. My crock pot liners fit this product well which makes for easy clean up.
