Is there a light on this grill to indicate when it has reached cooking temperature?

However, my green light is always on, even when the grill is cold and warming up, even though the green light is intended to turn on when the grill is ready to cook. The lights frequently cause issues for many people. Even without lights, the grill continues to produce excellent food. The grill gets quite hot and ready to use in only a few minutes. It cooks deliciously and cleans up quickly.

Are the plates easy to clean and removable?

They are indeed incredibly simple to clean. I turn the appliance off after removing the cooked food from the plates, cover them with a damp paper towel, and then I close the lid. The moist cloth has loosened anything trapped on the plates and is ready for cleaning when I'm done eating.

This product cooks well enough but after a couple of months, everything sticks and it's very hard to clean. One new plate is almost as much as a new one so forget that.

I have loved George Forman grills for many many years. I have one that is at least 10 years old and still remains easy to clean. But that one does not have removeable plates, so about 2 years ago when I bought a new house, I picked up this one for the new house, thinking it would be even easier to clean. Wrong!! This product has become very difficult to clean. The non-stick coating has been wearing off this year and tearing the burgers, salmon filets, etc. when I lift the lid. Yesterday my husband worked on it for me, scrubbing the grill plates for so long that it started to hurt his back and he finally had to give up, saying he needed a break! I was shocked that this could be happening with a Foreman grill-- it's something that I had never before experienced with any of my older ones. I really loved it when I first bought it: it cooks well and fast and cleaned easily initially but if it only cleans well for the first year or so, it's just not worth buying/using.

We have had this grill for almost 2 years but only use it in the winter to grill burgers, so it really hasn't had a lot of use. We love the way it makes juicy burgers, quickly. Clean up by hand washing was always easy. However, the last 3 times we used it the meat stuck to the ceramic plates. Last night it stuck so badly that it took 2 of us to pry the grill open and it ripped the burgers in half with the top part of the burger stuck to the top ceramic plate and the bottom half of the burger stuck to the bottom ceramic plate!!! Then I couldn't get the ceramic plates completely clean. There is now a brown residue from the meat that I can't get off the ceramic plates. (Please see photo) I even tried washing them in the dishwasher and that didn't remove the brown meat residue either. Feeling really frustrated and grossed out because I can't get the plates completely clean. I noticed the same complaint from others listed here now.

We've had our grill forever. This is probably our 3rd or 4th one. The problem is that after a period of time, the nonstick surface wears off. The grill is still good, but I wish I could replace the plates only so I don't have to buy a whole new grill.

We're trying our new grill for the first time. When we plug it in, both the red and green lights go on. I think it should just be the red, and the green should come on after it's pre-heated. It looked hot so we put the meat on. The green went off, then on again after a minute. Please advise. Is there a re-set button somewhere?

I received this updated grill as a present a year and 1/2 ago. My older one with the black surface wore off and food stuck. This new grill had white plates which I thought was an upgrade of the plate quality but nope. The food has been recently sticking again. I only use olive oil spray to cook and wash as directed. i love the grill for cooking but major disappointed this one's cooking plates also failed to last a reasonable time frame.

No complaints at all (and I am detail oriented). Christmas gift. Simple and VERY PRACTICAL design both to cook and clean. Although non-stick sprays are NOT recommended, one can use a little oil or butter as implied in the grill features here. However, there's no need to smear everything with grease. Thanks!

Great grill...however the instructions on the green light are "backwards" Green light comes ON along with the power light and goes OFF when preheated. Maybe this is for a newer version of this grill? Otherwise...GREAT

I also bought this to replace an older model that didn't have the "removable plates" feature. However, the non-stick surface is not holding up, although I've used only regular olive oil and have not washed plates in the dishwasher (both recommendations for keeping the surface "non-stick"). I agree with "Fallback Position" that replacement plates should be available instead of my having to buy a complete new grill. What a waste of a good machine when only the non-stick surface on the bottom plate needs to be replaced. I use my grill several times a week and love it, but wish the plates could be replaced when food begins to stick and surface becomes hard to clean.

Love that the plates are removable, light weight and easy to clean! This replaces an older model that did not have this feature. My only issue is that the smaller grill space is more suitable for 3 servings, not 5.

Hd to scuttle a perfectly good grill as the original "Teflon" covered plates did not hold up. Replacement plates w/o improvement cost more than a new appliance. The company should produce replacement grates for any removable plate with improved technology and for legitimate price - not more than a whole new appliance.
