I don't usually try to sound like an infomercial when I write a review, but this product really is great. It is a healthy alternative to deep frying and it tastes better than just baking. My family eats a lot of prepared potatoes and chicken, such as french fries and chicken nuggets. Our lives are hectic and busy with evening meetings and conflicting schedules, so I do not always have time to prepare meals that start from scratch. When time is tight, I will usually go the prepared frozen food route because it is quick and easy. The result is usually either overcooked potatoes or limp ones. With the air fryer, they come out super crispy like as if you had taken the time to fry them. And it typically takes less time for a batch than in the oven. Plus, you don't have to wait as long for it to preheat as for the oven or deep-fat fryer. The clean-up afterward is also extremely quick and easy. I have yet to find something that actually sticks to the cooking surface. I have noticed, though, that it works best if you only cook a half bag of prepared foods at a time. So, I will normally cook a couple of batches for a full meal, since I have a large family. I have also cooked some homemade things in it when I had the time. There are tons of online recipes developed specifically for air fryers. Homemade fries were the biggest hit. The only one I didn't like that I have tried was meatloaf, as it dried the outside too much.

I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Gotham Steel Air Fryer. Unboxed it's just the black plastic engulfed air fryer, 2.6L copper colored basket and 3.8 L drip tray. This definitely is simplicity at its best. You just set the temp to desired setting, preheat if desired, if not just increase the cooking time for whatever it is you are cooking. set the timer and you're ready to go! Yes, it is just that easy!!! Recommended food settings are located on the top of the air fryer and can be adjusted by turning the dial also located on the top of the Fryer. The air fryer is very user friendly and very easy to clean, While it does say no stick surface, I did have trouble with some foods sticking a little when there wasn't enough oil used. This is really a mini convection oven that easily fits on the counter without taking up very much space. I've cooked a sweet, potato, breaded chicken strips, chicken breast, frozen fries, onion rings, and frozen party wings and all turned out great! I was especially pleased with how quickly I was able to prepare a medium BAKED sweet potato in under an hour. Great product for small spaces, college students, meals for 1-2 or anyone looking for an alternative to frying without giving up the taste and flavor. I have two Major issues with this product one being the very limited cooking space ...cooking for five took awhile due to the small 2.6L basket size and secondly the ink is washing away around the timer dial. Overall this is a great product to own!

I got this because I'm trying to eat a healthier lifestyle. In fact, I'm not really eating any finger foods right now but I did try it with a chicken breast and it came out pretty good. It was somewhat crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. The cleanup was fairly easy although it did stick a little to the basket but I think if I would have sprayed a little cooking oil first, it probably wouldn't have. I think it is healthier than pan-frying because there was a decent amount of grease left underneath the basket. The part the basket goes into was really easy to clean out. You could basically wipe it with a paper towel. One thing on the downside is that it does take a while to cool off. You can't just use it, clean it up and then put it away quickly because the base will be too hot for a while. I also would keep it out of children's reach while it's cooking because it would definitely burn. I think this would work great for a dorm or someplace where you don't have access to a stove top or grill as it definitely makes food taste better than a microwave would. I can't wait to try it out with some french fries or cheese sticks but I still have a few pounds to lose before I can do that. :-)

The Gotham Steel Electric Air Fryer with Non Stick Coating Temperature Control and Timer (As Seen on TV!) works well. This electric air fryer has temp controls and a timer and it stops when your time is at zero. You can, however, open it at any time to check your food. I tested it on several types of food: frozen fries, breaded chicken tenders and to warm up a slice of pre-cooked pizza. It basically works like a little convection oven. You do not need oil, but can add a slight amount to some foods for added crispiness. I found that the recommended time for frozen potatoes cooked them all thoroughly and crisped the top fries, but I chose to mix them and double the time to crisp them all. The tenders were the same. I do not think that I necessarily saved much time using this cooker, but I do think that it generated very little heat into my kitchen which was great as summers here are hot. I foil lined the basket and warmed pre cooked pizza. The crust stayed crispy and the cheese melted nicely. It should be noted that this item takes up a bit of cabinet space so measure what you have open to be sure it will fit. I was very impressed with the handle being cool when I removed the cooking unit. Also, the removable copper units are dishwasher safe which is value added. They fit on my top rack easily and cleaned right up. The basket held a full small bag of frozen fries. The only drawback is that you do need to open the unit to move food around often if you have more than one layer of food to crisp everything.

I LOVE this air fryer! It needs no oil yet food looks and tastes like it was fried. I made chicken strips and fries only useing a quick spray of coconut oil and they looked and tasted great! (see photo) I usually cook these in the oven for 25-30 minutes and they only took about 13 minutes in the air fryer so its also faster. I like this fryer so much better than my oil fryer because not only did the food taste better it wasn't greasy yet it was crispy and tasted great. The other huge benefit is cleanup was a breeze. No oil to deal with and the removable basket is easy to wash. The black and gold color of the unit makes it look great sitting on the counter. I can't wait to try many more things in this air fryer and think it will become one of my best used kitchen items!

First I would like to say that I am not a "gadget" person, which is one of the reasons that I have waited so long to try out an air fryer, now that I have tried it I am so mad at myself for waiting so long! Right out of the box it is already fully assembled, you just need to unwrap it and wash it out, then go through and read the instructions. The first thing I tried was dino chicken nuggets for my kids and being the good mom that I am I had to try them out first, oh man were they good and so crispy, my kids loved them too, usually I cook them in the toaster oven and it takes 20 min or more, these only took 10 min (there is a note in the instructions to either preheat the machine or just add 3 min to the cook time). I was unsure if I could do toast in it so tried that this morning, I put a big slice of sourdough bread in it for 3 min and it came out perfect. The controls are super simple, just 2 knobs, one for the timer which is also the "off and on" and the other for temperature. As for the size i think it is just right, on the box it says the fryer basket is 2.6L, I would say you could fit at least 2 to 3 chicken breasts with some veggies on top. I am very happy with this machine, it's just the right size, easy to use and clean, also it's very quiet when running and the food comes out tasting great, I would definitely recommend.

This air fryer is really a great product! Not only do you not have to use oil to fry things which is AMAZING in and of itself, but I was able to use it to fry tons of stuff I had no idea I could ever fry! By not using oil it meant they were healthier too. I love that it came with the book because it gave me tons of ideas besides the usual fries and onion rings. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family!

The Gotham Steele electric air fryer is really a great product especially for the price,it's basket is a good size so you can fix a lot at once, it's easy to use and it did exactly what it claimed, I took a frozen piece of tilapia Straight from the freezer opened and put it in on 350' like it said 22 min later I had golden brown crispy on the outside juicy on the inside fish sandwich that had no oil, and was absolutely delicious, it says it has a nonstick coating and that seems to be true, it works great is priced good, easy to use, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you try it. But if you do try it and find you just don't like it you could return it. I give it 5 stars all the way.

Gotham Steel Electric Air Fryer with Non Stick Coating Temperature Control and Timer As Seen on TV, was selected from the Wal Mart Spark Reviewer Program for my honest opinion regarding the product. I was so excited to finally get this air fryer and see what all the talk was about. I had to read the directions because I wasn't really sure if I was supposed to do what you usually do when you fry food or what. I did read that you can still use oil if you chose to but it is not required that you use oil. Cleaning this item was very easy, that is the cleaning from when it initially comes out the box. Setup was very easy as well. I can say that unlike most people, I was not too impressed with this item. For starters, I am not sure if the size was too small for what I was cooking but I cooked pork chops and it stated to set the cook time at 350 and cook for 15-20 minutes. Well on this time, the pork chops weren't close to being done. I did 15 minutes on each side and that did not work. I ended up putting the timer on 30 minutes. Even on 30 minutes, I still had flour showing. So I am not sure if it was due to the thickness of the pork chops or what it turn out the way it did but I eventually got them done. It took a little too long for me. According to the directions, you can also cook bacon with this this so I can't wait to give that a try. I definitely recommend others trying this because not everyone will have the same experience.

I am serious about my fried chicken! So serious that I won 1st place in a contest a few years back! So to put this fryer to the ultimate test, the 1st thing I chose to make in it was fried chicken. I seasoned my chicken, floured it and like the directions suggested, I sprayed a little bit of oil on the chicken. My first batch I only put enough chicken to cover the bottom of the basket and put it on the recommended 18 minutes, turning once. When the 18 minutes were up, I pulled the basket out and sadly saw a soggy mess! I was disappointed but told myself to go ahead and keep cooking them to see what happens. I put on another 10 minutes, flipped and put on another 10 minutes. Now they were starting to crisp! I gave an additional 10 minutes on each side and then took them out of the basket. The 2nd batch, I loaded up the basket with 2 layers. I set it for 18 minutes then flipped and did 3 more sets of 18 minutes and flipping. They too came out very crispy! Not as pretty as my oil fried chicken is, but a lot crispier! We got a hit! My daughter thought they tasted great too. The basket comfortably holds about 14 chicken wing and drumettes. The unit itself it very sleek in appearance with its gold and black coloring. The basket is easy to move in and out of the unit and there is a temperature reference guide on the top of the unit. On the front is a dial you turn in minutes. You can pull the basket out during cooking to check or turn the food. You must let the basket completely cool before washing. This is the only part I wish was different. The basket doesn't come apart and to get the excess flour and little bit of grease out I had to rinse and shake it about 10 times, if they had come apart it would have been a lot easier to clean. I posted a picture of the machine and my fried chicken on my Facebook page and a lot of my friends commented on what they use theirs for and I am excited to try some of their ideas! Especially the bacon!
