I am so happy with the multi cooker. I have roasted in it, used it as a slow cooker, baked in it and many more. I tell all my family and friends about the Hamilton beach muli cooker, it's the best. I am thinking of purchasing one for my daughter. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My favorite feature would have to be the Delayed Start! This is great for when you have an 8+ hour work day and you want to start the slow cooker before you leave without having dried out meat. I also love that you can sear your food right in the same unit as you're cooking. Less dishes and more flavor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This multicooker is a great addition to my home with limited storage space. With this one appliance i have the capabilities of a roaster, rice cooker, steamer, and slow cooker! It even comes with a rice measuring cup. The 9 functions plus delayed start are conveniently displayed on the control panel which is easy to read and operate. One feature which was helpful during my cooking occurred while I was steaming veggies. The vessel had ran out of water and the multicooker beeped and flashed alerting me to add more water. Had it not done this I would have not had yummy steamed veggies for dinner. I haven't had much use of the delayed start function but i do wish it would work with all functions not just white rice, whole grain, and steam. The vessel and roasting rack are dishwasher safe which allows for easy clean up. Just remember to not use the SANI cycle as that could cause them damage. I love so many of the features of this cooker! First off, I just love being able to brown my roast right in the cooker before I slow cook it. I used to skip this step when using a traditional slow cooker because I didn't want to dirty another pan. I also love being able to turn it on saute after slow cooking to thicken the gravy, again without dirtying another pan. Finally, this think is SO EASY to clean! I absolutely love it! I really like the size of this cooker as well. There is plenty of room for larger roasts, whole chickens, etc. It was very easy to learn to use. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that it would have been nice to have a booklet with some recipes included. I'm looking forward to trying many different foods and cooking methods, but so far the multi cooker has worked like a charm. Very happy with it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Was completely intrigued by the idea of a 9 in 1 multi cooker,so decided to give it a try. WOW! This pot does it all. My 3.5 lb roast fit in it with no problem. I usually sear my roasts first, and this accomplished perfect searing with no problem. There is a warmer feature which is great since often my family does not eat at the same time. I also like the count down feature so I know exactly when dinner will be ready. The multi cooker steamed vegetables perfectly, along with cooking fluffy rice. I found the cleaning of the inside pot to be a breeze. Having handles on the side made it easier to remove insert for cleaning. I put inside pot in my dishwasher and it came out great. It is perfect for those with limited kitchen space since this multi cooker can take the place of many items. This is my new go to gift for anyone starting out in their first home since this 9 in 1 multi cooker is really all they need to cook whatever they are in the mood for. Great job Hamilton Beach!! How great that I was able to roast a chicken, cook some rice and then make chicken & rice soup with the leftovers - all using the same pot, just different functions. The multi-function capability is going to help me with reducing cabinet clutter as I will remove my roasting pan, rice cooker and old slow cooker - all replaced by this one unit. I recommend this for anyone who cooks or entertains. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received the Hamilton beach multi cooker for free in return for an honest review. I really like this cooker. It is about the size of a standard slow cooker. It also has the option to steam, sear, slow cook etc. I used it to sear steaks. I place the steaks in the oven to finish cooking but I realized they would have been perfect just searing in this multi cooker. It comes with a small cup to measure rice if using it to prepare any type of rice. There is also a rack to steam your food as well. Searing automatically gives you 15 minutes cooking time which can be adjusted. All controls are digital and preset and maybe adjusted via arrows. The pot is removable like a standard slow cooker no problem with clean up it easily wipe out in order to be washed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I used this to cook a pork roast. It is the perfect size and I able to include everything we wanted in with our roast to feed a family of 6 (5 adults, 1 toddler). I put it on roast for only an hour and it almost fully cooked it but I wanted to wait to eat, so I put it on low for another hour. We even waited about 3 hours after and it was on warm during that time. It turned out perfectly. All the vegetables were soft and the meat was fully cooked and juicy. After cooking, it was easy to clean up. Nothing stuck to it and I was able to wash it with ease. Overall, I love it and can't wait to use the other settings. I love having multiple ways to cook and it's going to be used quite often. I love that it comes with it's own rice cooker as well. And the vent hole is large enough to stick a meat thermometer in without having to take the lid off. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My first impression of the cooker was that the size was perfect and also of importance I really liked the shape and dimensions of the pot. It's somewhat rectangular in style and measures at the bottom 8" wide by 11" long. to me this is perfect for a nice size roast or a decent size chicken. And in use it was plenty large enough for the browning functions and the saute feature as well. You can move the food around enough to making cooking a decent amount of food easy. When I first set up the cooker I personally was disappointed that the power cord was only about 30" long. Due to the placement of my outlets and my counter top area I was forced to use a heavy gauge short length extension cord so that I could cook in a well lighted area! I really liked that the feet of the cooker have rubber inserts that do a great job of keeping the cooker in place and not moving around when you are stirring the ingredients or browning a large piece of meat that you are moving around so as to brown as much of it as possible. In regards that capability, I found that the browning /saute functions pretty well and the bottom of the pot gets hot enough over a nice large area to perform well. A point of note is that you should wait to put your ingredients into the pot when either roasting searing or sauteing until the pot reaches temperature. In use of the multi-cooker I was able to operate the control buttons easily enough. The only feature that I have not used yet is the delay start. But in reading the directions it appears easy enough to set. I note and agree with the fact that delayed start should only be used when either cooking rice or steaming vegetables. I don't think it's advisable to have meat and ingredients that can spoil sitting for hours at room temperature before cooking. That is where the slow cooking feature works in all it's glory! I'm a big advocate of the convenience of slow cooking. There are so many benefits. Like using lesser expensive and usually tougher cuts of meat, when cooked in a slow cooker the meat cooks to a wonderfully moist and tender consistency. As well the addition of spices and herbs and liquids used in the process are infused and vibrant throughout the food and really enjoyed when eaten. The programming of the cooker has a keep warm feature which works really nicely especially if you slow cook on high. It reduces the possibility of your food being overcooked and dry. With regards to cooking rice, I have a pressure cooker that I use for same. But I did try and cook both white and whole grain rice batches and I found the multi-cooker does a good job of same, especially if you are cooking larger batches that cover the bottom of the pot more evenly. I followed the advice of rice to water which is important and also added the recommended vegetable oil of 1 tablespoon into the rice before adding the water to prevent foaming. The end product cooked was fine and only needed a fork run through the rice to fluff it up before serving. I really like that the multi-cooker has an alarm feature if the liquid boils dry and will continue until you add liquid or you press the cancel button. All in all I think Hamilton Beach has designed a nice addition to the genre of multi-cookers. Especially as to size and capability of uses, and with the wonderful feature of easy disassembly and being dishwasher safe. You should really consider the addition of this wonderful appliance in your kitchen arsenal! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Pros: Love the shape-was able to fit 2 2 lb. roasts side by side. Plus I was able to brown the roasts in the same pan before cooking. I love the handles on the insert-makes it so easy to remove the insert without burning yourself or dropping it. Lots of choices on the menu. Cons: Had a very hard time seeing the menu choices. Had to tip the unit up to see the various choices. When slow cooker had food in it, I had to use a flashlight to read the menu choices. Would help loads if the menu items were backlit or had some kind of background that would make the words stand out. One big problem I had (and maybe I just didn't know what I was doing) was when I found the food had cooked quicker than I anticipated (I had it on low for 10 hours) I was unable to reduce the cooking time or switch it to warm. I had to cancel and then key in 1 hour to cook so it would then switch to warm. I wasn't quite ready for it to go to warm so had to add cooking time so it would then switch to warm at the end of the hour. I believe this unit cooks faster than my old slow cooker so I will make sure I don't add so much time on the low setting. All in all, I love the slow cooker. It fits perfectly on my cooking island, and it looks great. It is so easy to remove the food once it is done and the cooking unit is extremely easy to clean. I am giving this slow cooker a 4 rating only because I had difficulty reading the menu choices. If that were changed, I would give it a 10!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
