How Long Does The Instant Pot Omni Plus Take to Preheat?

In fact, the preheating procedure moves along quite quickly. I timed it multiple times at various temperatures, beginning at a cool one. Before beginning a fresh test to examine how quickly the oven could reach temperatures of 300, 350, 400, and 450 degrees, I waited until it had totally cooled off. For 300 degrees and 450 degrees, respectively, the shortest times were 1 minute 40 and 2 minutes 35 seconds. Additionally, I placed it next to my primary oven and set both of them to the same temperature. The Omni Plus not only preheated more quickly, but it also finished cooking the dish before my home oven had even finished heating up!

How do I clean my Omni Plus?

Cleaning an Omni Plus air fryer toaster oven is essentially the same as cleaning any other appliance. Its purpose is to gather all of the burnt debris that collects at the toaster oven's base. Although the Omni Plus lacks a crumb tray, it does include an oven tray that can be positioned at the bottom to catch liquids, fat drips, crumbs, and other debris that may fall off the wire rack while cooking.

How Easy is it to Set Up?

To be completely honest, there wasn't much to set up. The toaster oven was sent fully assembled in the package and was ready to use after only needing to be connected into a 120v outlet. The bundled attachments may be switched out as needed and were for various cooking techniques. A single wire rack could then be put inside the oven once the drip tray was placed on the oven's base. Additionally, the oven's wire rack may be adjusted to five different height levels. Detailed view of the Instant Omni Plus's dials

What is the Benefits of Air Fryer with Toaster Oven?

More food can fit in the air fryer-toaster ovens thanks to their design. A entire chicken, four or more slices of bread, and a 12-inch pizza may all fit in several of these models. There is no longer a need for bulk cooking, allowing you to serve dinner to your entire family more quickly.

Instant Omni Plus Beginner's Guide and Review
4 years ago

In this video I will show you how to get started cooking with your Instant Omni Plus Air Fryer Toaster Oven. The Omni Plus is very similar to the Omni. In this video I will go over what those differences are, how to use the modes and presets, what are the similarities, and also tell you if I think it is worth the extra money. Since it is so similar to the Omni, I suggest you watch my Omni Beginner's Guide video. You can find it on my channel.

Just bought itand toast feature cannot be set to anything but one setting. No setting for light to dark for different breads. Also too tall for under my kitchen cabinets. I did not like the way the computer settings are on top of unit. It is computer run toaster oven and as with all computer parts will not last long since computer parts are still affected by heat. The display was terrible to work and poorly programmed. I bought the 10 in one Omni fryer.

I’m not o e to leave positive reviews. I usually only review if I’m really unhappy with a product to warn others, but I have to review this product because I love it so much!! This is my best purchase of 2020!! I don’t know how I lived without it for so long!! We cook EVERYTHING in this beast! It takes only a couple of minutes to warm up leftovers, so I stopped using my microwave. It is SO EASY to use, and didn’t take long at all to figure out the settings & how to adjust to optimal cooking. We have not yet used all the settings because we mostly use air fry, bake & toast, but I’m sure it won’t take long to get to everything! The temperature control is perfect, and we lined the bottom with aluminum foil to make sure clean up is easy! The pull out tray on the bottom comes right out for easy clean up with crumbs. Again, our BEST PURCHASE of 2020!!! FIVE STARS!!!

Easy to use. Great controls. Very exact temp control. Hard to clean after every air fry. Because the heat sources on the bottom are not properly covered from grease after a air fry it is a fire risk imo and the grease once on the heat source is very hard to get off but must be cleaned after 1 air fry or smoke/fire will occur

Part that connects handle to door is made of plastic. I think that because the door on the right side did not close well enough to hold in heat. Used 3 times. Once for toast, once for eggos and once for baking potatoes. Cooking the potatoes for the time required may have caused the heat to expel to the handle on the right side causing the handle to break due to the plastic where screw was inserted to attach handle. Good for toasting, but not for cooking at longer periods of time. I recommend you do not buy this product. Very disappointing.

This is a great oven and I love the size of it but know it cooks things a lot faster so until you get used to it keep an eye on what you are baking in it or scale back the time.

Edit: Added some photos of food I've cooked - skewers and prime rib, both turned out delicious! Would highly recommend pairing a wireless meat thermometer with this when cooking large cuts of meat, I probably would have overcooked the prime rib if I didn't have one. I'm super happy with this air fryer, we use it almost every day at my house! I was surprised at how big the box was when I first received it, and the machine itself is very large, so you need to make sure you have plenty of counter space to use it. However, everything came in perfect condition and it's been working great. The top and sides of the air fryer definitely get hot when it's in use, so be careful not to touch it with your bare hands or have anything too close when it's on. My favorite part is the rotisserie, I've purchased some additional accessories that use the rotisserie rod, and it's just so cool to use. I'm not used to cooking with an air fryer yet, so I have overcooked a lot of things trying to get the temperature and timing right. It definitely takes some trial and error, but I'm slowly getting used to it. The only con I have is that it can be a bit difficult to clean, especially the top of the air fryer. I do my best to wipe it down every night so that things don't build up. Overall, I'm super happy with this machine and can't wait to try new recipes with it!

Well- I’m going to start by saying, we love our instant pot, and use it multiple times a week. We are sold on this because of our love for the instant pot. It’s ok. Just that, it runs VERY hot, if you’re not watching it, things burn quick. It’s difficult to clean, the smell of plastic was pretty intense; however, despite all of that, the writing is now rubbing off completely. I mean, really?! I can’t even use this machine properly now. We’ve had it since May. I’m super bummed, I’m not going to be recommending instant pot products anymore.

This is a good machine BUT be aware it comes with almost no documentation, only the most basic of instructions, no explanations, and NO example recipes to get the hang of how the different settings work.

I got an Omni Plus through Amazon about a month ago. It wouldn't toast bread. I contacted the manufacturer and ran it through the toast making process as they told me to, photo documenting every try. They agreed the machine was defective. I returned the Omni Plus to Amazon and bought another one. This one won't make toast either. If I put one slice in and set it on six slices at the darkest setting, it barely toasts the one slice. So I don't know whether to return this second machine or not. I do want another small oven and air fryer, but I already got rid of my toaster. So -- its a toaster oven that won't toast. Very disappointed. I got on the OmniPlus/Vortex facebook group, and see that several people can't toast bread either, though some have no absolutely no problem. Very frustrated.

Overall the is a great product until last week now it it requires us to unplug the unit in order to reset the features for use. It’s stuck on the “end” setting and none of the buttons work unless unplugged and re-plugged in after a few seconds. We were really happy with it before that. It was easy to clean, spacious, everything they was described.

I will start by saying I never write reviews, unless I'm extremely dissatisfied. Had smaller competitor model that worked fantastically for 3-4 yrs, before it died. I will not disclose the manufacturer because it doesn't matter and I do not want to be accused of shilling for a competitor. Cooked great, looked great, sturdy and very easy to clean. Searched extensively for a larger unit to replace, as I wanted bigger with rotisserie. This unit had everything I wanted and appeared to be a great deal, as they claimed it was regularly $400 and a steal at $200 for a very limited time. Also had good reviews for the most part, which I now know were total BS. Now I will admit it cooks great. The air fry, bake and rotisserie, are so far excellent, but that's where it ends. The stainless exterior is of the absolute lowest grade and impossible to clean. There is nothing stainless about it, except the name. Same goes for the interior, which Is Not of enamel or porcelain or any type of coating that can be cleaned. I don't mean easy to clean... I mean you can't clean it. Seems to be nothing more than high temp paint, which I'm not certain is safe. The unit is very cheaply manufactured to the point that all lettering, including those indicating the various settings, wipe off completely with attempted cleaning with soap and water. I find it unacceptable that the only thing you can clean, is the lettering that should not wipe off with soap and water. I could continue, but I believe this gives enough info for you to understand what you're dealing with. Unfortunately I travel quite a bit and didn't get around to returning within 90 days, so now I'm stuck with this garbage. Less than 5 months and 2-3 dozen meals cost me $200 for something I will have to throw in the trash.

As of writing this there are 4 different, separate instapot air fryers listed in the SAME page. Reviews you are reading have a 1 in 4 chance on being for the item you want to purchase. This review is for the Instant Omni Plus Air Fryer Toaster Oven 11 in 1 / 26L: It's like buying a cheap car with the interior of a Ferrari. Oven is super light for the size. My last smaller toaster over was heavier. The good thing is the community for instapot items is there and finding different recipes is easy online. The owners manual is a joke. You will need to watch videos online on how to use it which are easy to find. Grab a notebook and clear 40 minutes out of your schedule. The biggest issues are the large gap around the door and the NOISE. Makes this quite energy IN-efficient. Also leads to the back getting warmer and cooking faster than the front. Plan on rotating your dinner. The build quality is poor for the price. Think of a $65 toaster oven with a few bells like the air fry/convection option and the LCD and your at maybe $150. The metal is cheap there are screws all over on the inside cooking area, the air frying basket is super cheap ( order a different better quality one right away ) and the drip pan is one ding away from losing its' paper thin coating. The rack however is of good quality. The convection fan design is very poor. You like the sound of a car with a bad muffler in your kitchen then this is the oven for you. One plus is you can set it to high or low. Low isn't as bad. The lcd just reads OFF 24/7 instead of just turning off. Would a clock cost too much in programming? This oven will suck a LOT of power so you will need a dedicated outlet for it. Great that it comes up to temp quickly but bad if your just doing some toast or are limited for outlet options in the kitchen. Another bad point is I have put it on 5 20 minute "Burn in" runs at 350 - 450 and it still smells like a chemical factory. Just put it on another. This is day two and let it sit overnight with the door open to help. Unless you like chemical broccoli and cheese then expect to spend 2 hours running this thing to get the odor out. Insta if your reading this I just want a semi-durable medium sized air frying convection oven with a nice LCD. Ideally one that doesn't sound like a low flying crop duster in the kitchen. I don't mind spending $250/300 if I know its going to last several years. This one I give it two at the most based on the build quality. My advice would be buy the extended warranty because your going to get your $$$'s worth out of it. It's like they designed a really good product then found the absolute cheapest factory and parts to build it. I get your trying to turn a profit but you can still make a good item and make money.

Easy to clean is about the only thing this appliance has in its favor. It has many functions but doesn’t perform any of them well - apart from baking. 6 months in and it makes a horrendous noise. If you unplug and restart it might make the sound go away. All of the preset temps and times have to be adjusted or the food is cold or overcooked. It doesn’t even toast consistently. I really wanted to like this appliance because I truly like my Instant Pot pressure cooker. I can’t recommend this one.

We love it. Takes the place of a toaster, small oven, and air fryer. We do not have a mircowave or a toaster so this is a perfect fit for reheating left overs, toasting, and much faster in the oven mode than our traditional oven. It is really big, like much bigger than I expected. At first I was suspect if we'd keep it but, it's become a must have, can't recommend it enough!

Overall, like most instant products, this one is great. The only bad thing about it is the black baking tray that is trash. Instant pot has sent us two replacements for it in a little over a month. We washed the first one in the dishwasher (like it says you can) and if kept leaving black dust on all rags or paper towels. The second was hand washed, then dishwasher and did the same but got this weird sticky layer that became dry and flaky looking over time, the third and final tray (only because it’s not worth the time to request a forth) has only been hand washed, and it’s doing the same stuff. The tray is TRASH but overall the item is great!

Super easy to use and so many settings. Love this oven so much. Use it for everything from toast to beef jerky to crispy garbanzo beans. Doesn't make a huge amount of extra heat. Literally use this thing every single day.

I was really excited to get this oven, I own an instant pot and I love it. First, the good: This oven heats pretty evenly, and can produce french fries that look almost like actual fries, make focaccia and pizza, and chicken with fantastic crispy skin. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of a few shortcomings. First, you cannot disable convection, so you cannot use it as a static oven. Some recipes that require slow heating (meringues, flans) are better off with a static oven but there's no way to disable convection. Also, there are many presets, but there's no 'manual' mode where you can just pick a time and temperature, and whether to use convection or not. Also, the oven door has a groove all around the glass on the inside, that tends to get dirty and it's very hard to clean. So, at the end of the day, this oven does its job, and produces very good results, but it's somewhat harder to keep clean than expected, and also seems like its controls could have be designed better.

Broken, bought in August broken in October outside 30 day return . What caused is a frozen pizza 350 for 12 min. Scary thing it's still turning on thought maybe a warning or instant turn off fail safe. Nope buyer beware. While chatting to Amazon support Would you like their Manufacturers phone number

I have now used every function. This thing is UNBELIEVABLY GREAT! One flaw: For roast, toast and dehydrate, it does not offer the ability to custom set temperatures, this results in over/under cooking some foods like roasts, fruit, and KETO/PALEO breads.

We joined “Team Instant Pot” a few years ago when I got a great deal on an 8-qt pressure cooker that my husband immediately bonded with and has used a couple of days a week since. For his birthday I got him the Instant Pot Sous Vide, which he has also bonded with and loves. So, when we needed a dehydrator, I checked to see what Instant Pot had and found this Omni Plus. I got this because it also can do dough proofing, which we will use when we bake bread this winter. What was great is that we not only have a decent capacity dehydrator, but also all the other things, too, like a toaster, small oven, air fryer, toaster, slow cooker...we use it every day for something! It’s a great size and I love that it looks like a miniature stove! The one thing I’m not a fan of has nothing to do with the Omni Plus, but with the Instant Pot company, who doesn’t have accessories like extra oven racks, etc. available for purchase or recipes/how-tos for all the features like they do for the air fryer or other products they offer, which created a learning curve for us and a scramble for accessories from other companies that would work in the O+, which we needed right away to take advantage of the large internal space we wanted to use for dehydrating. But I am not holding the short falls of the company against the product...5 stars!

I don't write reviews very often, but I have to say I am impressed with this little oven. I've had it for 4 months, and have used it multiple times over for a variety of items. Have baked muffins, cornbread, box cake, & pizza, made casseroles such as lasagna & enchiladas, used toast feature for Texas toast, airfryed multiple batches of chicken wings, french fries, taquitos, fish sticks, etc. I am using it more than my regular oven. Heats up in 1/4 of the time, using far less energy, & doesn't heat up the house in the summer months. Has done a great job at cooking everything I've tried in it. It does seem to cook hotter than a regular oven , but I've learned to adjust oven temps down. Also cooks things faster than a regular oven. TIP: To keep tops of casseroles from getting too brown, I place the casserole on the bottom cooking space on the black pan that comes with the unit, place foil over the casserole then place the oven rack a couple spaces up from the casserole. The rack keeps the foil from being blown to the top of the oven due to the convection fan. Other reviews stated it was confusing to work, but I found it easy to figure out without ever reading the instructions. Will fit a 9X13 pan without handles easily. Makes a very handly second oven.

I really like the versatility of this unit. Not just as an air fryer - but I've used it as a convection oven (when I don't want to turn on my oven in the summer) and am going to be trying out the dehydrator feature this weekend. But I feel certain it won't disappoint.

The blueberry muffins turned out great. I find the lack of instructions and or cookbook made this difficult to understand. The app has recipes that are good so I print them out. Still think it should have a book. I will say it cooks, bakes, grills excellently. And I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm amazed how well this oven performs. I've had "toaster" type ovens in the past and this isn't anything like those. This one you can actually bake cakes in. My big kitchen ovens are convection so I already know to adjust cooking times, however, this little beauty is even faster! A bundt cake I make takes 50 minutes in a plain oven, with convection on it takes 40 minutes. This oven makes the cake perfectly in just 30 minutes without heating up the whole house. Cake baking is delicate and requires dependable temperature control. Any oven that handles cake baking can cook anything. Very, very pleased with this purchase after spending many hours reading reviews. The only thing I might change is the ability to leave the interior light on. It's so fast you really have to keep an eye on the food.

EVERYTHING I have cooked in this unit has been Perfect and generally in Half the time. Amazingly easy to operate and simple to clean. The Only negative I have is an occasional loud preheat that most of the time quiets down. I have not tried the dehydrator nor the rotisserie function yet also prepping bread. I will never go back to my standard toaster oven after this. Kudos to the engineers.

This thing is great. It has exceeded my expectations. I have made several meals in it since it's arrival. All of them have been delicious, the longest meal to cook was 20 minutes. That was only because the meat was only partially thawed. Most are done in 15 minutes.

Did not see enough instructions on use; like do you take the bottom black pan out to toast or air fry or does it stay in oven for all cooking ? Purchased the cookbook and no pictures or illustrations for recipes : very cheaply published Recycled paper yet it cost ! Oven ! Would be better with non-stick inside for easier cleaning !

Was a little hesitant reading recent reviews about a “plastic smell” - after unboxing I noticed the inner tray has removable rubberized feet that aren’t referenced (after a brief glance at the manual) - the rubber feet pop right off and the air fryer is running great - not sure if they’re supposed to stay on, but I don’t see how it can hurt taking them off - air fryer is sleek and easy to use, settings are great and tray is spacious

I love this toaster oven and air fryer! I had the Emeril toaster oven/air fryer before this and I hated it. I was pretty happy that it only lasted 11 months. The Instant Omni Plus is a game changer and makes everything easy. It’s a little large, but it can accommodate two racks that can cook at the same time. I barely use my oven anymore.

I received the "Instant Vortex Pro Air Fryer Oven 9 in 1 with Rotisserie, 10 Qt" as a birthday gift in July. I was very excited. 1st Air Fryer: found scratches on the product. <-- Requested a replacement. A gift should not arrive as though it's been used *Returned New 2nd Air Fryer: found a big bump on the left side, as though the wiring was improperly assembled. <-- Requested a replacement *Returned New 3rd Air Fryer: Foved it. Used it. Realized my oven door couldn't be taken apart for cleaning (even though its suppose to). No big deal, still easy to clean. Big Problem on my 5th use of the Vortex Pro, it was set to Air Fry. The machine asked to insert food after it preheated. Shortly after food was inserted, smoke started coming out of the side and the door. When I opened the door, it was filled with smoke. I was left with no choice but to return the item. Living in an apartment building, it could've gone really badly. I'm a loyal fan of the "Instant" brand. It may have been a bad batch that was sent to Amazon, or maybe I was just unlucky. For now, I will just to wait for a newer / better model to purchase.

I've only had it for 2 days, but I really like it! It does have a chemical smell the first few times you use it. I did follow the instructions on cleaning it first, and I ran to 4 times before cooking food in it. I've used the broil, reheat, and airfry settings. I used the airfry basket for French fries ? and that is why I only gave it 4 stars. The fries got crispy on the ends but were mushie in the middle. Cooked at 400° for 16 min, and filled basket 1/2 way (which was 1/2 bag frozen fries) took out, put back for 4 more min at 400°, little more crispy but not done. Put back 1 more time for 5 min at 400° and still mushie in the middle. We didn't eat the fries as this was my trial run to get a feel for how it cooks, and to get rid of the chemical smell. I cooked bacon ? the airfry setting and de-lish! 390° 8 min flip and 8 more min. Times will very with doneness and thickness of bacon. I keep my bacon grease and it was easy to collect from drip tray. Reheated a grilled pork chop ?from the other day. Perfect! Tasted as if I just had cooked it for the first time! Rehaet setting 4 min and flip, 4 more min done. I reheated a steak ? using the broil function. I didn't want to over cook it as I like them med-rare. 400° top rack 3min, flip 3 min more and done. Still very pink in the middle. ? Can't wait to roast a whole bord in there next!?

Way easier to use than a conventional oven. So far rectangular pizzas on air fry mode come out way better than expected, toasty, just better than right. Chicken tenders, chicken breasts, all done on a timer. Never really liked using a conventional oven, this one is the closest to a microwave but makes the food taste better. The light failed and customer support took care of it, it took some time, hence the four starts. So I use this for toast, pizza, and chicken. Bought a third party cylinder/drum to try to do fries with the roticery function. Have yet to try vegetables and other foods. Sweet potato fries are next.

Tried cooking several things, but it didn't keep a consistent temperature. After the pre-heat was finished, the temperature did not reach the program temperature before switching over to the cook mode. Therefore, it was very hard to bake items and set a timer, as you would have to watch it constantly. I believe the air crisp coil never came on at all, therefore I am returning this item and will either re-order another one or try a different product. The oven was easy to operate and I really like the light inside for checking my food. I wish, you could turn off the pre-heat option. I ran a test with a thermometer, set the temperature to 400 degrees for 20 minutes. At the end of the pre-heat function, the temperature was only 350 degrees, 10 minutes into the cooking mode, it finally reached 390 degrees. I called the customer service at Instant Appliances and it took two calls on hold for 15 minutes before speaking to a representative. He did confirmed, what I feared, as the product was defective. I own a Instant pot and I am very happy with it. I really liked the looks of the Omni Plus oven, it fixed very well in my kitchen. Very sad, it didn't work properly.

I have to look things up on the internet when i want recipes on how to use it. Clean, like most stoves is not an easy task, i think men who never had to clean an appliance design them.

This product definitely did not go through an honest focus group before releasing it. The rotisserie chicken function drives me nuts. In other models, people are able to place a tray underneath for vegetables to roast and catch drippings. This one is not tall enough to fit a 4 lb chicken with a tray underneath. I have to put some foil underneath to pick up some oil but then I have to clean the two lamps and the tray underneath (poor design. For toast, flipping is a must to get both sides even no matter which tray you use. For air frying it cooks super fast so just keep it in mind when making food. Haven’t tried the slow cooker yet but it is difficult to find a pot small enough to fit inside (around 12 deep by 6 high)

I was loving this machine! Like others mentioned this does have a strong plastic smell the first handful of times it's used. It worked so well and was so convenient that I overlooked that. All was going well until 6 weeks in while I cooking burgers in it. The machine completely lost power mid cook. No, it didn't lower the temp like some have mentioned, the machine lost all power and would not turn back on. I tried plugging it into different sources thinking maybe something happened to that specific plug. Nope, nothing. As it was past the available time to return via Amazon I had to reach out to Instant Brands. The process due to covid was delayed. I created a ticket on their site but after no response I called (be prepared to wait on hold at least 30 min). The following day I received an email to submit photos of my device. A few days after that they sent a response that they would be sending me a new replacement. A week after I received my "new" machine. I could tell there was something off as soon as I opened it. The box it came in seemed like it had been opened previously, then taking out the unit there was finger prints all over it, dents, scratches and stains. Did they really send me a refurbished unit!?!?! I'm furious! What kind of customer service is that? I reached out via the email correspondence chain which I had been communicating with them. I looked at their warranty and unfortunately their only 2 options if you have a problem with your unit is 1. they will repair it or 2. they will send you another unit. I highly doubt I"ll be able to get my money back. I'll update my review once I hear back and see what they have to say about this latest issue. Update: They denied sending me a refurbished unit and have shipped me out another one. I received it yesterday and after inspection today this one looks ok. Fingers crossed that all goes well.

I do really like this unit! Very easy to clean and heats evenly. It is easy to use after you have more info than given. I found a lady on youtube who was a world of help on using this. The included instructions as well as the online manual need to be more inclusive. People would enjoy using this much more if provided with more detailed instructions. No recipes either, really? I know there are a lot out there but it might be helpful for someone trying to use this unit to follow one.

Bought it to bake smaller things without the heating the kitchen up. Used it one time so far. Heats faster than big oven, so gotta watch temperatures.

I am in love with this oven! I haven’t used my other oven in the 3 months I’ve owned this one. The convection feature is so much more efficient, all if my baked goods cook evenly in almost half the time. I use the air fryer feature for veggies sometimes, but mostly I just bake goodies and roast my meats and veggies in this. I’ve used it to proof bread dough, too. The only negative is it’s not the easiest to clean, but I can make that sacrifice for how great it cooks. Looking forward to testing out the features I haven’t tried yet, too. I’m so glad I decided to go with this air fryer oven over the others I researched. I thought it would be big but it actually fits perfectly on my counter. This is one purchase I’ve been telling all my friends about. Get it!

Wouldn’t know if was good or not as it arrived damaged. I’m trying to gift it to my dad in Colombia but Instant design doesn’t allow for the heating element to be replaced. Getting this oven to work should have been easier.

This seemed promising when it arrived, however the outside of the oven gets really, really hot - so hot I am worried for the countertop and general safety. It measured 144 degrees on the outside surfaces! Normally, it's just me here, so I'm sure I'd remember not to touch it, but there is always the possibility of the occasional visitor for dinner. Taking someone to the ER for burns can't be fun! Plus, I would also be concerned for damage to the kitchen countertop due to the excess heat. I suppose if I put the oven on a large sheet pan that was sitting on some pot holders it would be OK, but I'm not going to do that... In addition, I noticed that the power cord seems to get quite warm - I know how electricity works and a warm / hot cord is never a good sign on any appliance. Seems like it is trying to pull too much power through too small of a wire. In addition, I got the impression that the oven was made out of a very thin metal - it seemed like the outside walls were almost like an extremely thin type of tin, this may explain the added heat on the outside of the unit. While the concept is good and it did cook my steak, I don't feel comfortable nor safe to continue using this oven. I'll be returning it. Cleanup from cooking the steak was not terrible, I could see how others would think that there are corners and crevices that are hard to get to. The oven required a couple of hours to cool down sufficiently for me to be able to clean it as well. While the steak was cooking, I download the app that is available from Instant Pot, it seems nice, but this particular air fryer isn't specifically listed - there was just one choice of a different model. I'm guessing the directions would be similar, but it would be nice to have precise directions on setting things for this model oven.

I have an Instapot and use it frequently. Bought an accessory for it to use air fryer. Worked great, but then I saw this appliance. Decided to give the accessory to my sister. Have used the Omni Plus several times already in one week. Love the versatility of it. Have used the bake and air fryer. Both worked great. Just returned from the grocery with chicken breasts, pork chops and ground bison. Will try them this weekend. My experience with the air fryer has been good. Meat stays moist inside. Used to have shoe-leather pork chops and very discouraged as I'd like to do better, but pan frying has been a disappointment. Not so with the air fryer. Outside was crisp/finished. Inside was like a slow-cooked pork roast. Juicy and moist. YAY !!!

I got this to use when it is too hot to use the big oven. Now I use it all the time, as it is faster than my big oven. Great for air frying things like Brussels Sprouts. Love it. Worth the price. Only 'con': does take up a lot of counter space, but well worth it for me.

I have NO IDEA how this got such high reviews. It beeps constantly. With every touch of a button or knob it makes a noise. And all the presets are hard to adjust from. I’m so dissatisfied with this. It reminds you to turn the food with every single thing you put in, whether you want to or not..... MORE BEEPING. The convection vibration makes the bottom crumb drawer come out. Waste of money. As if 2020 couldn’t get any worse. Oh and it reads a giant “OFF” on the screen when it’s.... you guessed it, off.

This is my first time leaving a review about a product on Amazon that I can remember. I am very pleased with this purchase! I was hesitant at first to purchase the InstaPot air fryer because of the negative reviews about the smell. It probably sat in my cart for a couple weeks as I deliberated if it was worth the risk. I ended up purchasing it anyway and my family and I are in love! It just arrived today and I followed the directions for pre-cleaning and initial set up. The smell was horrible at first, but after the recommended 20 min. the smell went away and I was able to cook the chicken wings to perfection. I have no regrets. Obviously, it is my first use, but I don't want anyone to be deterred from the negative reviews left on this forum about the smell BECAUSE if you follow the directions, THE SMELL WILL GO AWAY and THE FOOD TASTES GREAT!

The Vortex is a great value for everything it can do. We compared to similar higher end toaster models and other air fryers and all the different features made it very worth the money. It toasts just fine, although we found that we sometimes need to hit it with both L3 and L1 especially on homemade breads. The unit operates very consistently - every time we use the same settings for the same type of food, it comes out very predictably. We needed something that not only toasted but could hold a low temperature (90-200 range), and the Vortex was great for that.

Although not quite as large as the Brevelle smart oven air, the instant version is a very good value for the money. The only disappointment in this system is that the air fryer basket is way too small. A better choice would be to make the basket the way Brevelle does so that it fits in the space the full width and depth of the oven, so that you can air fry more foods at a time. The small basket wastes space and doesn't allow you to easily air fry large quantities. This should really be redesigned.

Update: August 5: The replacement oven arrived and I immediately knew something was wrong when I heard metal rattling around inside. There were several washers, a metal spacer, and retaining nut found in the crumb tray rattling inside the oven. The metal circulating fan was no longer attached and found sitting on top of the upper heating coil. Now I have TWO of these poor quality controlled ovens to haul out to a UPS store! Original post: I was excited to try this oven after a horrible experience with a brand new NuWave Bravo XL. The Omni Plus was easy to set up, clean the accessories, and run it through two heating cycles for five minutes each at 350° to get rid of that new oven smell. After the oven cooled off and has been sitting for half an hour it suddenly displayed an E6 error code and will not permit any use. I was sort of okay with the slight rattle of the circulating fan, but not now. This thing needs to go back as it won’t do anything even when unplugged then plugged back in.

We've been through two Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven combos like this in the past three years. I had always believed that Cuisinart was a quality brand, but I guess they've gone downhill. The first one was dead within a week and replaced by the manufacturer. The replacement mostly served its purpose for a few years, but the interior light burned out within a couple of weeks, and is not user-serviceable. About a week ago, it just stopped getting hot. I started looking for a replacement, and this was "Amazon's Choice." I'm familiar with the brand, but never owned an InstantPot, but people generally seem to go crazy for them, and I figured at the price it was worth a shot. It's a little smaller than the Cuisinart it replaced, but doesn't seem to have less room inside. The digital controls are miles better, and the smart cooking features are easy to use and seem to work pretty well without fiddling too much with the time and temperature settings. They seem to have dialed the pre-programmed food items like toast and bagels in pretty well. Earlier in the week, we baked a salmon filet that came out perfectly using the programmed settings. We used the air fryer tonight to cook some frozen breaded shrimp, and they came out perfect using the regular oven settings in the instructions on the shrimp box. When we tried to cook stuff like this in the air fryer, it always got way too hot and burned the crap out of everything. Biggest complaint I have is that the control panel gets uncomfortably warm to the touch when it runs for more than a few minutes. I've only had it for a week or so, but the first impression has been great. If it holds up and lasts a few years, I will consider it a great purchase. I bought the 4-year Asurion warranty extension, and even so it was still considerably cheaper than what I paid for the Cuisinart, so I feel pretty comfortable that I will get fair value, especially given how good the things we've made in it so far have turned out.

I bought the Instant Omni Plus for myself on my last birthday. I haven't touched the stove since. I have dehydrated, broiled, baked, toasted, roasted, reheated and done a lot of air frying. The only features that I have not used yet is the proof and slow cooking options. I'm sure that I will use both of those next fall/winter. The Omni is easy to use with a little help from the internet for recipes and general startup information. Cleaning is reasonably easy as long as you clean it after each use. I do warn you that the size of the Omni is considerable so make sure that you have adequate counter space and can provide enough ventilation to avoid any heat damage to the machine or our cupboards. I haven't been this happy with a product in a long time.

I had very mixed feelings at first. Most of the stuff I tried in it came out a bit cardboardy or not crisp at all but after some trial and error and google I figured it out for the most part. I suggest buying one of those oil sprayers. You put some olive oil in and handpump air into it so you can spray oil on food, it's an air fryer but you do need a light spray of oil on most foods to get them crispy. DO NOT USE PAM TYPE SPRAYS, those will ruin the finish of your trays. Also...some frozen foods you buy in store just don't work well in the air fryer. I have tried Safeway brand fries and no matter what I do I can't get them to cook right. But the ore ida fries, which have air fryer instructions on them, cooked perfectly. So now I actually am very pleased with my fryer. We make taquitos and spring rolls and fries and onion rings. Bake potatoes. Even fry tofu cubes. Etc. My main gripe with this device is the closure for the rotating basket. It comes open way too easily. It hasn't caused any problems but it can be annoying. Oh and btw this rotating basket is awesome to make fries or tater tots. The door can come off for easy cleaning (open and lift gently) although I have splatter on it that doesn't come off with any amount of scrubbing. I assume I will have to use some anti grease spray to clean it. Haven't tried yet. So as I said the basket is awesome but it also has TWO trays to cook stuff. It fits a decent amount of stuff which can't be said about some other fryers. It gives you a beep to tell you when to rotate the trays. I usually do that at the halfway point and ignore their beep. One last negative point: it is loud. Old model Microwave loud. But for me that wasn't a problem. So yes I love my air fryer. Just accept that there is a little learning curve. And enjoy!

I did a lot of research before buying this air fryer - watched videos and read reviews of many different brands. First issue, I read a lot of reviews about a strong plastic smell. However, I didn't find that to be true for me. If you follow the instructions and wash everything down - just use a little soap and damp cloth: trays, basket, and inside (maybe that's what people forget or are smelling the burning cleaning agents they used????), then run the full 20 minute start up this shouldn't be an issue. Yes, there was a smell on this initial run but nothing super strong. Personally, I think you get this smell from most new plastic appliances. Granted, I've only used it 3 times since, but no smell other than the initial run. Second issue I saw people had was the loud noise. I mean, yeah it's not whisper quiet... but this small little appliance is churning out tons of super hot air to cook your food, it's not a quiet convention oven, it uses blowing air to heat. I don't find it too loud at all, but I also wasn't expecting it to be silent. Thirdly, yes it's not huge. That was a draw in for me. I'm the only person in my household, so I didn't need anything that would hold a 12" pizza or a 12 pound chicken (also side note this is only meant to hold a 4 pound chicken for rotisserie, don't exceed that). I needed something small enough to leave on my counter and to have multiple functions so I can justify leaving it out and not putting it away each time. If you're wanting it to cook for a family, or bake a pizza this isn't for you. It's only approximately 14"x 14" x 14" (door opening and space inside is obviously smaller). Last main issue people had was the door doesn't "catch". You need to gently set it down when you open it. I imagine this is largely due to the fact the door comes off for easy cleaning. Just set it down when you open it... that's it. Nothing crazy about this. Maybe people expected it to stop before it hits the counter? Its not really an issue if you are aware this is how it is set up. I don't mid it at all. It rests on the handle when you open it, so nothing hot is touching your counter. It's also nice it opens all the way down so bottom shelves are easily used. Things I like: +Button noises can be turned completely off (except errors I think) but they aren't much louder than a microwave to me +Small to fit on counter under cabinets + light weight to easily pull out to give more heat clearance from under cabinets +does not run super hot on outside of appliance like I heard another brand does +preheat faster than an oven +multiple features that are easy to access +light inside the appliance to see how your food is looking as it cooks +display is very easy to use and navigate. I feel like anyone can use it and see all options at once without scrolling a long menu +sleek looking +easy to clean (dont use anything abrasive or scratchy also DON'T DISHWASH THE DOOR OR SUBMERGE) I love this thing and if you have one or two people in your home, this is for you. It may not replace your oven for a pizza or large batches of cookies, but it's a really great product. I do wish there was paper recipes included, but also maybe it's a good thing to save on paper. They have a website and QR (If i remember correctly) to a link of their recipes, so they do exist... just not in the box. Overall, I really have enjoyed this so far and have been scouring the internet for new recipes to try. I bought it to replace a godawful air fryer. I'm so glad I did because this does even more than air fry. I have very little storage and counter space so multiple functions are a giant bonus to justify owning it.

I had a replacement sent out because the one I got rattled when you started cooking with it. You could put your hand on the back of the top panel, and pull up on the back panel with the tips of your fingers, and it would stop. But that's annoying, ish. So I got some excellent help from an Amazon rep and got a replacement sent out. I swapped out the cooking unit and kept my slightly used other parts because I don't want one just to have a new one, I simply need the rattle gone. I packed the old one that rattles 'till you manipulate the panels back into the new box with all the new stuff, taped it up, and got it ready to go. Then I fired up my fancy new fryer to make some chicken sandwiches. Unfortunately, the one rattles worse, and it doesn't stop rattling when you do the little trick that worked fine on the old one. Now I have to decide if I want to re-open the whole package and get the old one back out or keep the noisier new one. I think my give-a-damn is busted and I'll just keep this one. One thing you have to accept if you're going to have an awesome little machine that can cook anything is, apparently, a stupid and loud rattle. Still glad I have it, I guess. But seems like a dumb problem to cause a small amount of tension every time I use it.

Best purchase ever. Immediately set it up and started using it. My existing toaster oven stopped working so I searched for a more versatile form of cooking and this thing does it all. AND kudos to the Amazon Prime delivery person. I was unable to be home when it was delivered and the driver went out of his/her way to put it a very discrete place out of street view!!

Out of the box it looks great. It is all steele and is put together ok. I did make decent toast and I do like that I can adjust the toast settings. I have never used an air fryer before and I was not sure of how to set it up to cook. I tried to cook pork chops and it did seem to take a little longer than what the directions said. But I think it was due to the fact that I did not have it set up properly. So it does take some practice to get good meals out of it.

I read some negative reviews about the toxic chemical smell that wouldn't go away. That almost kept me from buying this. I am so glad I didn't let some peoples bad experience hinder me from enjoying this. YES, the smell is intense for the first use but Follow the test run instructions which is super easy and it will burn itself off and go away. That's the purpose of the test run. It took me prob 2 times of using it to not notice it anymore so that is not an issue. Some reviews complained about the wiggly door which caused me concern when reading b4 i bought this. Well, it's designed to be that way!! The door is removable for washing. This does not at all affect the functionality of the closing mechanism what so ever. It closes properly and securely. I toasted bread and it is true that the top side will be toasted but the bottom not so much unless u flip it. I didn't mind the bottom not being exactly like the top, I'll deal with it bc im not about to be flipping my bread and it does the job for me...i also read reviews about the rotisserie skewers being difficult to put in. I did not have that experience. It was super easy at least for the vortex pro. It slid right in and latched on when the red tab was pressed, no issue at ALL..i have also read about the shattered glass door... I cant possibly see how this can happen unless the person who was handling was careless in handling it by letting it slam down??? My goodness, and to think i almost didn't buy this. I have made amazing shish kababs, beef jerky, baked cookies, salmon, potato chips.. all in the same day as a miniscule test of what this machine is capable of.. the possibilities are endless and i cant wait to keep going. The negative reviews were debunked in one day...

I did a lot of research before deciding which type of air fryer oven I wanted to purchase. I couldn't be happier with deciding on the Instant Pot Omni Plus. It is super easy to use and because of it's size, I rarely heat up my large oven anymore. I can cook quite a bit of food in it. I use it several times a week, and it's great for cooking healthy food. It is pretty large, but it took the place of my smaller bucket type air fryer and a toaster oven on my counter, so for me, it was perfect.

I do not think I have ever disliked an item so fast in my history of purchases. While it is a handsome looking cooker I honestly think there are multiple design flaws I find unacceptable. 1. The hinged door is flimsy and feels fragile. 2. Because of the way the door open to the bottom, the hinge is a perfect catch for drippings from anything you may remove. After air frying a single batch of wings (the first thing I cooked), I removed the trays and the crack where the hings is located was full of drippings. This is the thing that bothers me the most as it is nearly impossible to clean. 3. The glass door makes a perfect catch for drippings. This cooker looks good out of the box but it seems like it would require a full clean after each use to keep it that way. 4. The catch for the door is too strong. It requires one hand to hold the cooker on the counter and another to pull the door open. This is especially inconvenient when you are trying to open it and insert the food trays. If you do it one handed it wants to pull the thing off the counter. 5. Probably not common but I had to pull power and reset it twice as the unit stopped responding to commands. 6. Small. You could rotisserie some quail but you are not putting a chicken in this thing. 7. No matter how low I placed the top tray or if I rotated and flipped, the stuff on the top tray came out dry. Ultimately, it did not compare to the food quality our regular basket air fryer produces. We bough this thinking it would work as well as our existing air fryer with added capabilities but not so much and definitely not at the expense of food that didn't come out as well. The Instant Vortex is in a box and on its way back. I absolutely hated it and was super disappointed. Maybe it works OK for other features but as an air fryer it doesn't make the cut.

I bought this back air fryer in May and was SO excited to use it. I followed all the manual guide lines before using it to cook food. I ran pre-run with no food, washed the tray and bin out with warm soapy water and ran a few extra cycles without food in to make SURE I didn't have any plastic smells. The smell throughout my home was horrific. I thought this was normal given first use. I then mad my first batch of cauliflower and it had a very chemical/plastic like taste which I thought was simply because it was the first food I was cooking in it. Not the case. I read online how to get rid of the smell and that this was normal for the first couple of uses of a new air fryer. However, EVERY SINGLE THING I have cooked in the air fryer has tasted like these chemicals and makes the food virtually inedible trying to suffer through the plastic taste. I have tried the distilled vinegar and lemon cycles, the run through for 40 minutes with no food cycle etc. and NOTHING has worked. I have used this about 30 times (trials to see if the food taste/smell would improve) and finally have had it. DO NOT buy this make/model because reading these reviews, I am realizing I am not the only one with this problem.

There is a really strong petroleum smell when we use the air fryer. The first time we used it, the smell gave me a headache and made me nauseous. We've tried the suggested items such as lemon juice and vinegar, baking soda and water and also just heating it at at it's highest setting for 10 minutes (did this twice) then eventually we ran it for an hour at it's highest temperature. Due to the noxious smell, this had to be done outside. NOTHING WORKS! The smell isn't as strong but it's there. We've tried cooking in it now 4 times and have to throw the food out each time. Unfortunately we threw the box out so it's not returnable. It's a total waste of $120.

I had high hopes for instant Vortex pro air fryer. The down fall of this unit is the chemical smell. After following directions which states you have to run it once before use. I clean the machine very well before cooking. I started to cook then the smell of chemicals filled my house. I was so afraid to feed the food to my family so I threw it away. Next day I decided to use it again thinking the smell will be gone. Boy was I wrong it’s still had this chemical smell coming out of it. For this reason I had to return.

and save yourself some time. So first let me say that it gets 2 starts instead of 1 because before the fire it was an amazing appliance. French fries, chicken strips, reheating leftover fried chicken, etc. were all super tasty. Roasted vegetables were never this easy! We loved it. Unfortunately, that all ended with the Quesadilla Incident. This model of air fryer pulls air up through the top of the cooking compartment. The top of the compartment is also where the fully exposed heating element is placed. The fryer sucked the tortilla up into the bare element, lit the tortilla on fire, and proceeded to exhaust the smoke into the kitchen. Not good. I hope the manufacturer becomes available to provide support and or discuss the Quesadilla Incident, so this review can be updated. The phone support hours of operation listed by Amazon are incorrect, but updated on their website. After 20 minutes on hold, my wife filed an online claim (no claim ticket provided) - over a week and no response. I've been on hold for just over an hour now and will try again tomorrow. Very disappointing.

I previously had rated this horribly, as it was making a lot of noise, however, when I went to actually use it, and not just test it, I realized the noise it was making was due to the extra pieces sitting on top of it, once those were removed it's not much nosier than my microwave. I tested it out, and it seems to work wonderfully thus far.

I have had mine about a month now. I absolutely LOVE that it is easy to clean. The trays and door all wipe down very easily. I have used everything except the spit option on it. The basket is easy to use and cleans easily too, however, be sure to read the directions and helpful tips of using food in it. The only thing is I wish that it was easier to handle when coming out (hot) because it does take some manual manipulation so you will need some heat resistant gloves or something to be able to handle easily. Last night I made two turkey tenderloins and a large amount of vegetables and all in under 1 hour from start to finish, including prep of veggies. The first thing I made was bacon and it was crispy and flavorful in 7 minutes with no babysitting! Normally, if I do in the oven, it takes forever to heat up the oven and then over 25 minutes to cook it. I have baked banana nut muffins (just use the stand alone muffin cups on top of the tray) and they came out great too! (I moved them to the air fryer because my stupid oven didn't heat up to temp.) I am going to try and use the spit on it at some point but just haven't had a piece of meat large enough to do it with. Love it!!

Works great. Off light stays on forever. That seems to wast energy. I wish there were recipes for this product. Nothing on line for this product and nothing came with the oven. Very sturdy. Also would have liked 2 slotted shelves as shown in many infomercials no idea how to get a second shelf Still oven is very well built and works great. Tip when using air fry cut recommended times And temperatures down

The convection fan cannot be turned off so everything cooks too fast and often burns. Mine is a good convection oven but as far as a multi-use oven goes I am disappointed. The list price was almost $400 but it does not provide an option to bake without convection which I am very disappointed about. The preset functions like on an instant pot are not useful. If they would make a way to turn off convection this would be about as good as products that cost half as much.

Received it 2 days ago. First opened it had strong smell, few hours later went away. Made air fry chicken thighs, very juicy, delicious. The only one thing so far I don’t like is, it’s noisy, I thought it’s just air fry, but oven too.

I’ve had the 9-in-1 for 4 days now, and I love it! I was starting to dislike my round 6qt air fryer because 1. It was also my pressure cooker so it was a headache having both air fried items and pressure cooked items in the same meal and 2. I needed to be able to make more at a time. Maybe I should’ve gotten an 8qt but reason number 1 would’ve still been an issue. Loves: It preheats for you, and tells you when to “add food” and “turn food”, and automatically stops/starts when you open/close the door. It doesn’t take up much space, and is really easy to clean! Minor issues: I had read the reviews talking about that top row, and it’s true. Everything I put up there gets dark quick. Glad to say nothing was burned and still tasted juicy, my breading was too dark. I’ve started using the lower two rows, decreasing the amount of spray oil, lowering the temps and raising the time, and switching the racks when I flip the food. Those things are helping me find what works best for me, so I’m attributing this issue to operator error. Overall, I love it and I can use my pressure cooker at the same time! Hope this helps

We love this toaster/air fryer. We had multiple small appliances to various cooking. We have since taken most of the small appliances out of the kitchen and replaced them with this toaster oven. We’ve cooked multiple things and have had great success thus far. We live in Missouri where in the summer months it can get very hot and humid and using the toaster oven vs our conversational oven had helped us keep a lot of the heat down. It’s on the higher side as far as price is concerned but well worth the money.

Love it. I’m not a professional cook whatsoever and this air fryer makes me feel like a chef lol easy to use and clean. It does have a plastic burning smell at first but after my fourth time using it you can barely smell it. Great for singles or small families. Cuts the cook time in half. It’s also convenient because I live in a basement with no stove. I’ve only made sweet potato fries, turkey burgers and grilled chicken but looking forward to trying out everything. I bought some accessories off amazon to make chicken Skewers and cake etc

we purchased this product because of the size. however you can only use one baking rack and or 1 basket at a time. the company does not offer extra baskets or baking racks for you to purchase. you can only cook one thing at a time. it just is not good for a family. cooking for 2 is about it. i like the results just need something that can accommodate 2 pizza's and or 2 baskets at a time.

I was so excited to get this! I took it out of the box and read the instructions. It says run an initial cycle without food first. Makes sense. I did that, then proceeded to cook dinner in it. Everything smelled and tasted like plastic so i ran it again with no food in it...6 more times! I made chicken breast in it and guess what? Tastes like plastic. Is this ever going to go away?? It is easy to clean and use, but all my food tastes like crap. Makes me want to return it.

So far I love this machine. In the short time that I've had it, I've made rotisserie chicken, garlic toast, and chicken appetizer balls. Everything cooks very quickly in this compact unit which saves this busy mom time. The rotisserie chicken was unfortunately still frozen but it was done in 45 minutes. The BBQ chicken appetizer balls were also frozen and they were done in 12 minutes (crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside). It doesn't heat up the whole kitchen like the traditional oven does. I've ordered a recipe book as I plan on making many more items. It's compact and fits easily on my counter. Since it has so many cooking options, I was able to get rid of my sliced toaster and rotisserie machine from the kitchen counter saving me space.

Missing crumb tray on arrival and makes a hellacious beeping when plugged in and "off". They're sending me an entirely new oven for the missing crumb tray. If the 2nd oven makes that annoying beeping sound when "off" I'm sending it back. So far it's junk. The instructions are also pretty crappy and non-informative.

I bought this as a splurge. It is much smaller then it looks. You absolutely can no fit a pizza in it. We also received a defective one. It is SO loud and gets SO hot after each use. The door is pretty janky and completely unattached on one side. This is obviously no fault to the seller but the manufacturer. After maybe using it 15 times, I got an error that red "E2". The booklet that comes with it has this error listed and says to call customer support. When I called the manufacturer, the representative that I spoke with immediately told me it was defective and asked for some pictures and sent me a new one. But I will be returning it anyway. Cuisinart has one for $10 more that is large enough to fit an entire pizza in it which is what we wanted it for anyway.

First I got the instant pot pressure cooker add on. I fell in love and it was too small for the entire family. So I got this one. When I saw the rotating cage I knew I wouldn't consider others without it. The add-on was actually faster to pre-heat than this fryer. The plug for the add-on has a barrier to prevent using both sockets of a typical electric outlet at the same time. It is probably because the pressure cooker is a lot tougher. The add on is not only smaller, also if you have to look at the status of the food you have to open it and stare deep into the bottom of the fryer. This fryer has a glass window that is a lot easier. And it's a lot easier to turn the food because you just slide out a tray. Honestly, this is a plastic box with a stainless steel skin. Most budget appliances are like that. If you want more metal you need to pay more for that. The steel skin is decent when some other appliances are a bit flimsy. The inside is all metal too with a tough glass door. I did saw a tiny jet stream leaking out near the front gaps (not the door) when I first use it. But I didn't see that again. The coupling to the rotating cage is tough plastic. It would be a lot more expensive to make with a metal part. But it is unthinkable to melt those pieces of plastic with only 400F. The guy who managed to melt it must be doing something unthinkable, or, of course, there's some sort of malfunction when the temperature is out of control. There is some plastic smell when you first use it. But it will go away very soon, like after 10 minutes of frying. And it's not bad unless you use a much higher temperature than 400F, which I don't think it's possible. The cage is stainless steel which has quality. There are two frying trays and a drip tray all have a quality non-stick surface. Since there's no direct heat on any of these, cleaning should be easier than a pan or wok. Disher washer using white powder pods should get them cleaned. If not, my go-to is to submerge everything in boiling water and add washing soda (or baking soda). Everything comes off easily or food stains don't accumulate; you can do a more thorough cleaning when you have the time. I have a range hood like two jet engines but I can only hear strong winds hitting on the grease filters. The noise of this fryer is overwhelmed by my range hood but the pitch of the fryer is higher so I can still hear it. When the fryer is hot, the label on the glass door can be peeled off effortlessly. I know some models carry the warning label about BPA and lead. I looked into it and it's either nutjobs, corporate sabotagers, or conspiracy theorists. My model doesn't come with a warning so Instant Vortex may have dealt with it. First, it's too late to worry about non-stick when an associated chemical can be detected in most of the population. Nowadays, non-stick materials don't use bird-killing chemicals and won't have that in the non-stick to leak out. The non-stick itself material is rather inert. Without direct heat as in woks and pans, any health risk will be one dimension less. BPA is associated with soft plastic. The plastic coupler in the fryer is as hard as it can get. I don't know why there is an issue when there's no food contact with the plastic. Any BPA has to leak out as gas to make any possible contact with food. But you how strong the air circulation is inside the fryer. A blogger has the equipment to test for lead! Where she discovered lead, there is no food contact. I remember she discovered traces of lead in the cord/plug, and something like the inside of a rice cooker. Isn't that nuts? The inside of the rice cooker isn't in touch with anything other than the bowl. The lead have to leak out to the bowl but any traces would have been largely eliminated when you rinse/wash it. In comparison, everything wood and metal in hardware stores are cancerous per CA P65. And is the cord inside the conducting metal or on the outside plastic? I will be surprised if you find lead in plastic. But why test only this fryer? I bet you can discover lead in every appliance where there is no contact with nothing. Anyway, it's not a major issue. The suppliers just happen to give you something with lead or BPA in it when it's not expected. Hard plastic doesn't usually contain BPA and BPA free plastic isn't a big deal. Similarly, you can swap suppliers for a lead-free component in some obscure places inside.

Updated Review: Must use product after replacement. The first one was not usable. After getting a different unit the smell went away after 1-2 cycles. I now use this all the time and it is a permanent resident on my counter even with limited space. Only 4 stars because the first one missed and caused a lot of extra effort on my part. Have seen this often enough that they have serious quality assistance issues. Otherwise a great product. Previous review: The entire house smelled like burnt plastic after running it the first time like it suggested. The smell never went away even after running it 6 times. Barely tried to make food. Going to try a replacement because I really want to like this product.

Just got it and right out the box I could smell it. Cleaned it up and did the first air fry run and it just blew that horrific smell all over my house. Trying to air everything out right and the smell unbearable. Attached a picture of my Dyson airfilter showing how bad the air got when first turned on. Returning immediately and getting a refund. Dont buy one.

SUPER CRAZY HOT TO THE TOUCH! NOT SAFE FOR THE COUNTERTOP AND DEFINITELY IF CHILDREN ARE IN THE KITCHEN! I took it out of the box and turned it on to clean before using for dinner - I immediately shut it off because I burned my finger touching the back of the unit! Started the return process and won’t buy this brand again! I won’t have any place to put this on the counter - they’d burn!

I had such high hopes for this air fryer and expected a lot more from this brand/company but I’m extremely disappointed in my purchase. First off the air fryer itself is very sleek and looks nice, it is easy to use but there are major design flaws. The basket/rack at the bottom is not secure and makes taking out food more difficult than it has to be as you cannot simply turn the basket over to get your food out on a plate because if you do that everything (food, bottom basket, grease) comes spilling out and crashing to the floor. The most frustrating thing however and the major deal breaker for me is not only the horrible plastic smell this air fryer emits but the toxic plastic taste it imparts on the food! Everything cooked in it is inedible because of this. I thought it may go away after a couple of uses but it has not. I cleaned all parts thoroughly several times, ran it empty several times, ran it with a ramekin full of water and lemon juice then water and vinegar and cooked several rounds of Food that tasted like a chemical/plastic and had to be thrown out. Very disappointed as this in my opinion is unusable due to terrible taste and likely toxic effect on my family’s health. Do not buy! The plastic smell and PLASTIC TASTE never went away.

I’ve only had this for a few days but I’m really impressed already. The unit itself is a very expensive and the quality of it is in line with that. But overall I’m quite impressed with the way that it’s cooking french fries, boiling cheese on top of nachos, and I look forward to you using it a lot more. The door feels a little bit flimsy which is the only criticism I really have of it. But it’s not like a $500 unit so to expect it to be super sturdy is unrealistic. I’ve seen reviews to talk about it being really loud, But that isn’t my experience. Also some people talk about a chemical smell while it’s cooking, and I did smell that the first time I used it, but I did run the initial test of the unit as instructed by the manufacturer which involves running the oven without any food inside,And after that I haven’t smelt the smell again.

I LOVE this oven. I live in an RV and my gas stove needs fixing, I bought this because electric is easier for me than gas. I am in love with it. I have rotisseried a pork loin and a chicken. Most flavorful meet I've made in my life! And not at all dry. I only have two complaints so far. 1: the forks for the rotisserie, the edges around the hole you slide on the bar are extremely sharp. I slice my thumb open trying to get it on. 2: the metal guards around the bottom heating elements are as sharp as a razor. I was cleaning the oven and as I ran the rag down one side, I cut my finger open so badly I thought I was going to need stitches! Be extremely careful cleaning the thing!!! I have baked, air fried, rotisseried, and am proofing bread right now. It doesn't get very hot around it so the people that say it does, I think you have a problem with yours! And really quiet. I am so happy with my purchase, I have had it for a month now and have had no problems so hopefully it stays that way lol! I've even made eggs in it, this thing is amazing. The one thing I can ask, please make more recipes for it! I copied the qr code and downloaded the recipe app but there aren't any for this oven??!! I've had it for a little while now, I still think it's absolutely amazing! It does get a little loud when air frying but it's not bad! I love the reheat feature, it doesn't dry the food out at all! I love that I can save things like french fries when I get fast food and it crisps them right back up! I do wish it was easier to clean the inside like a feature to self clean would be great! I am still extremely happy I bought this! One downfall is I can't fit my small roaster pan in there with the lid on but tinfoil always works as a lid! Also I wish it came with more than one rack. But overall I give it 10 stars it's helped me a lot!!

Worth every penny!!! I had the basket air fryer and wanted an upgrade. Soo happy that I went with this one. It is large in size so make sure you have the counter space. Yes you can be nit picky. However let’s be real a lot of these complaints on this product is user error or they are just one of “those” people. It arrived quickly and no damage to the package. It was secure inside the box. And I now will be not only getting an Insta Pot I will be telling all my friends to get one.

If it weren’t for an overpowering smell of burnt plastic this would be great. I have to admit I wish I’d read more reviews about this, I would have seen that many people had this complaint. I thought at first when I turned it on I must have forgotten some plastic packaging and that’s why it smelled so bad. That wasn’t it. I thought it might catch fire, that’s how strong the smell was. I went ahead and prepared my salmon asparagus and acorn squash. The food was crispy and moist so I liked the preparation. If the smell of plastic doesn’t bother you you might be okay with this. I am returning this as it’s the next day and my apartment reals of plastic, I’ve cleaned, washed floors, diffused essential oils and still I can smell it. Very strong burnt chemical smell. I can’t imagine eating food from this is good for me. I ordered the Cuisinart air fryer that isn’t plastic.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is an awesome purchase!! My video shows a 4 lb pork butt roast fully cooked in under an hour. It had a crispy but juicy crusted outside & looked just like a juicy prime rib on the inside (tender too). My kids are also able to use it w/ no fear of stove fires etc. I was worried I wouldn't find an air fryer to be able to cook for a family of 5. However, for size context, it comfortably held 6 leg quarters last night (3 per rack) & only took about 35 min to cook. You'll need to rotate racks halfway through, as it cooks more on the upper rack. No worries, though! It has an automatic beep function to remind you when to rotate. The door also comes off for easier cleaning & it all wipes down pretty quickly. I've got a ton of things I want to try cooking in here!!

I have mixed emotions about this air fryer. I love the way it cooks, and everything tastes great. I also love that I can use this as a toaster oven. So, that eliminates another appliance off of my counter. But, I am not a fan of a few things. 1. The door floats off the hinges very easily and gets stuck when you open and close it. After I noticed mine doing this, I went to Walmart and tested the one they have on display and it was the same. 2. The keypad for the timer is also difficult to use. The buttons either skip time super fast or you have to push them several times before it responds. (Couldn't test this at Walmart because they are not plugged in) 3. I don't like that (or understand why) it has to "pre-heat" before using the air fryer function. I have friends who have other brands of air fryers and theirs do not have to do this. It does not take long but, still annoying.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I have ordered 2 of the instant Omni plus ovens and had to ship back both for the same problem. Both my units were very loud and the fan is vibrating loudly after preheat is complete. They should look into their quality control issues. One was a fluke , the second shows me there is a issue

How can I possibly cook anything in this? I turned it on (as the instructions say to do before using) and let it bake/roast for 20 minutes and the acrid smell has not left my house for three days. Then I thought, maybe something needs to burn off and then it’ll be okay. I’ll on my 5th try now—-it’s still stinks up my house with a toxic chemical smell! What the heck?!? Plus it’s SUPER loud.

I got this today in the mail and love it. All I have made is french fries but it's really easy to use and they came out perfect. I read about people saying the door was loose, mine is fine and I am not sure what everyone means. I put my trays and french fry bin in the dishwasher and they came out great, another plus that I don't have to wash them.

Lowered from 3 to 2 stars....have been using this for months. The fan is still very loud, and it still smells of burning plastic when cooking. Previously wrote: Third night...trying my baked falafels. My 1 usual cookie sheet made 2 layers in the air fryer. Had to do only 1 at a time per previous post, so no benefit to the 1/2 cooking time. Put the first load on the top layer. Outside was burnt and inside was raw. Put second in the lower shelf...waiting... Looking like a return. Following up my initial review, below, smell remained the second time, and lessened the third. Tried to put in 2 levels of potato slices with olive oil and dry spices. While the top layer burnt, the second layer baked...one layer burnt and one dried out. Here is my previous review: LOL,total disaster first night.... took this out of the box, put it next to the stove and started on the calibrating instructions. While it was heating up, getting ready for a first cook, a) it was very loud and b) there was a terrible melting-plastic smell. I therefore decided to read the rest of the manual...reading that manual, I saw 'EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO PUT NEAR AN OVEN'...it can melt the gas line...Scary! This should have been on a yellow sticker. Second, the instructions do not correspond with the device reactions. Third, the manual doesn't really seem to have correct cooking times. To be fair, my George Foreman Grill isn't perfect on that score either. I used it once, so Im not returning it right away, and will write more, if, as and when my thoughts change, including if I decide to return it...stay tuned.

We use this just about daily as a toaster but when I first bought it, I was really excited for a rotisserie chicken. Hard to find at 4lbs or under. I brined it and it came out amazing! I also bought skewers here on Amazon and we put sausages on them. So good! I find this easy to use and clean.

I love the design.. the ease of use.. the electronics.. BUT at temp above 335 deg F.. it gives over powerful toxic fumes. The company is great.. Instant Pot.. I have the pressure cookers.. two .. and have bought two more for gifts.. wonderful.. use mine everyday.. But the Vortex .. is a great disappointment.. NOT Instant Pot's fault.. it is the fault of the people who manufactured it .. they used really BAD Plastic.. I can only hope the Replacement is better..

This is the first time that I’ve given a bad review of something I’ve purchased through amazon. I purchased this item and wish I would have read more of the reviews. When I opened the item box I expected to have some new smell to it but what permeated was a plastic smell. I did the test run as was indicated on the instructions and the entire house smelled of strong plastic toxic smell. My house smelled like this for an entire day. I ran again with a few fresh potatoes and it still permeated the house with plastic smell. The potatoes cooked fine but they had this terrible metallic taste and I had to compost them. I tried again and still smelled of plastic. I emailed the company and did not get return email. Unfortunately, I had to send this item back, which I hated to do, but I don’t think the plastic smell was going to change even with further attempts.

After several uses my air fryer still emits such a strong odor of hot plastic I put it in the garage when using it. My husband says the food tastes like burnt plastic. I haven't had any issues and of right now. I have had it for a week or so and have use it multiple times. My only thing is that the door and its handle seems way to cheap and if not treated more than carefully it will break. For the price, it should be a way more steady of a product.

I’m really disappointed. We’ve used this multiple times and it still smells like chemicals and the food tastes like chemicals/plastic. We had to move it to our patio to use it because it made the house smell so bad. The house didn’t smell, but the food still tasted horrible. I’m not sure if this is true for all air fryers or just this one. It was a waste of money and we will likely give it away.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This air fryer provides the functionalities as advertised. I have been using this air fryer daily to make my nutritious restaurant style food for the past 6 months especially when no area restaurants were open. Since the air fryer has good size for volume of food, it occupies a bit more counter space than I first expected. I found there are two very minor problems (I solved BOTH) after I had used for a few days. First, the heat from the fryer in the back caused the wall / backsplash to feel hot if you don't have good ventilation. I have to move the air fryer away from the wall so that hot air can vent more easily without heating up the wall a bit too much. Second, the front glass door is a bit heavier than I expected, and I was concerned the glass door weight could cause the door hinge to break if you don't have the support of the countertop. But if I pull the air fryer away from the wall so that the hot air can escape, there is just not as much counter space to support the heavier glass door. I solved both problems by turning the Instant Pot Air Fryer 45 degrees. Now my 25" (inches) deep countertop space becomes 32" (diagonally), and I found the needed space to lay down the oven door without breaking the door hinge while also the hot air can vent easily while not heating the wall / backsplash. See picture. Think of these things before you buy, such as where you want to set up this air fryer so that you have space for venting the hot air while also have counter space for supporting the front glass door. BTW, my daughter, who recently went back to college but had limited access to school cafeteria / meal plans, also bought this Instant Pot Instant Vortex Pro 9-in-1 Air Fryer for her apartment. Now she and her roommate are using it to make their nutritious meals beyond microwaveable pizza and Macaroni and cheese. I would say this is good for college students who have no experience in kitchen.

This is my second air fryer. I bought this one after my first ones (Yedi) cheap plastic piece by the handle failed causing the outer basket to fall to the floor multiple times. I sought out a better built basket fryer and decided on this one. I’m incredibly happy with it. Instant vortex feels and looks much higher quality and was only slightly more expensive than the Yedi. (Came across it on sale!!). It’s easy to use and has nice features such as the reminder to shake or turn over your food if distracted while cooking. I was going to upgrade to the larger air fryers with 4 mini baskets and glass front, but read that they are a pain to clean. Since I use the air fryer as a compliment to my meals, I decided to stick to a high quality basket style. I’m glad I did. I use mine for the basics.... French fries, wings, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, frozen fish fry. Fried food crisp without the fatty added oil. The instant Vortex is the way to go! Don’t let The lack of recipes deter you. The basics are listed in the included book. Anything more advanced can easily be searched on YouTube or google.

Upset I chose this air fryer. I wish I got the attachment for the instant pot. This is ridiculously hard to clean (actually impossible, ruined a sponge and a brush) rendering the basket part of it useless. The trays have holes in them which creates a large mess upon removing food. Used it twice and wish I could trade it in for the instant pot air fryer lid.

I freaking love this thing! I hesitated buying it because it takes up prime real estate on my counter but after trying out some stuff cooked in one my friend had I just had to buy it. It's fantastic for cooking chicken wings and for baking things like those frozen garlic bread sticks my kid loves that require you to heat up the oven to 4,000 degrees just to cook them for 4 whole minutes. That's no fun in south Florida heat! But where it really shines is in reheating leftovers like pizza and fried foods. I even reheated fish and chips using the air fryer mode and they tasted just like fresh from the restaurant. I've used this thing at least once a day since I bought it, sometimes more. We toast scones for breakfast, make tuna melts for lunches, and cook wings and fries for dinner. It's fantastic.

Function keys do not work when pressed. Very frustrating to get the machine air fryer started but when it does finally work it cooks very well I would definitely not recommend it. I'm afraid that the display function buttons will completely stop working altogether. Also the basket for the fries is not very well thought out because when I put fries in it and turn on the rotisserie function with fries keep sliding to the bottom and do not Tumble so they are not mixing in tumbling for even cooking as the basket rotates they just keep sliding down on the bottom which causes them to clump together and stick.

The airfryer dries out the food without much browning. It takes a longer than my old air fryer to brown foods, even at the highest temperature, and by the time the foods are brown on the outside, the inside gets too dry.

Positives: So versatile. From jerky, to chicken wings, to cinnamon rolls. I've had this for about 2 weeks now, and have used it at least once a day. I've made steaks, toast of assorted types, and chips as well as those others listed above. The presets are fantastic. The fact it remembers your settings from last time has helped with times I forgot to write down. I do slide a bit of foil on the bottom to make clean-up a bit faster. The first couple times you need to watch what your cooking, because things can cook fast, and start before the time begins. I dislike cleaning the bottom lights. They get dirty fast and easily. And there are sharp edges. Otherwise, I haven't found many negatives. All in all, it is handy to just pop something in and not have to always wait for my oven to warm up.

There needs to be instructions on how to turn it back to F from C degrees. For some reason, one night during the middle of cooking the temp reverted to degrees C. I could find no instructions anywhere how to switch back. I finally figured it out. You have to hold the temp up and down buttons down at the same time.

Had a thermal protection fault “E2,” after only a few uses. Amazon would not honor a refund or return. However Instapot did honor a refund. They responded within a couple days of me reaching out and sent a brand new replacement rather quickly. They informed me to keep the trays and rotisserie from the original unit and then dispose of the base properly. They informed me to keep a minimum of 5” around the fryer and never store things on top so as to free up airflow when the unit’s fan kicks on to cool it down. The thermal switch is set to fault out if the unit ever reaches 450° for safety. As long as this doesn’t break again I would recommend buying it. They have decent customer service so I am not upset my unit went down. And the product, as far as performance seems really nice to me. I’ve never tried any other brands or models, for comparison but this one definitely seems to have more options and capacity then most others and the price is decent ??. For reference i was without an air fryer for just over a week total.

Replaced a smaller air fryer with this and could not be happier. It has so much versatility! When others come over they always comment how quickly things come out of it. My only complaint is the giant off on the display when it’s off. I wish the screen would fully dim after a time.

Not too bulky so I can keep it on my counter, which is perfect because we have used it a lot. Nice being able to eat some of my fried favorites w/o a huge mess and wasteful oil. Experimenting with a lot of different foods and I'm not disappointed at all! Extremely happy with this purchase! What will "Instant" put out next???

The main issue I have with it is that the rack inside is hard to get clean with deep grooves. It’s also hard to get your hot food out of the basket. You can’t simply dump the basket because the entire rack falls out. Then we used a non scratch pad on the rack and after three cleanings the Teflon coating was coming off. If I was to buy an air fryer again I’d consider the Cuisinart fryer toaster oven combo, which a friend of mine owns, instead.

This is a must have multifunctional kitchen appliance! It is seriously the BEST! Absolutely LOVE all the functions on this machine. We are a vegan household so a few of the pieces we won't be using like the rotisserie prong. But we do buy plant based "meat" and use the meat functions to cook them. Overall this and the Insta-pot blender and the original instant-pot are the top 3 appliances I use on a daily basis. *** One thing that would be really nice is if there was a way to remove the 2 prong hook things from the left side, it makes it a little difficult to slide the cooking tray. That’s something I would love to see changed. That is only one minor but huge bonus if that was an option.

The rotisserie is very difficult to use, this has a very poor design. You're taking a raw chicken and wrestling it onto a stick that you have to line up forks on that don't fit into the holes properly. Then taking two tiny screws and tightening them into the holes. Did I mention this is all with a raw chicken? Once you accomplish all this, you take the entire mess and have to line it up into more holes in the machine. The resulting chicken is pretty good, but yikes. After one use, we lost the tiny screws and are trying to find replacements. The air fryer part is great. I like the machine, but chose it for the rotisserie. It is such a bad design and we're struggling to find new screws. Be careful with them!

I started with the Ninja that flips up, and that was a great feature, but the space inside was awful, far too small! This is the most user friendly, awesome appliance I have ever owned. Everything cooks perfectly, and in half the time as the oven! I cannot say enough good things about this. Yes, the size is pretty big, but it's really light and easy to move around if needed. Stop searching and buy this one!

I love this toaster oven! I've used it for toast, of course, and many more things, including air frying French fries, steak, and pork chops, baking make-ahead mashed potatoes, and roasting a rotisserie chicken. All the meat turned out tender and juicy. I'm still working on perfectly timing steak and French fries, but they've turned out well - just not "perfect" - every time. Sometimes I still have difficulty changing settings on the oven, but I tend to be slow learning technology. I did have trouble inserting the rotisserie rod, but my husband taught me the trick of it, and now I'm confident I will have no trouble in the future. (The rod tip is pointed, but you have to have its square edges further up lined up with the square hole before it can be fully inserted.) I use this toaster oven almost every day. It definitely heats faster than my conventional oven, it doesn't heat the whole kitchen when it's on, and it cools itself off quickly. It's easy to clean, too!

After listening to dozens of clients and friends talk about their air fryers, I decided it was time to bite the bullet so to speak. Consumer Reports rave reviews led me to the Instant Vortex Plus. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️ IT! Everything seems to taste better cooked in an air fryer. Even salmon is more moist and flavorful. Plus food cook more quickly than traditional oven or fryer methods. The Vortex is large capacity so it’s easy to cook 2 or more types of food at the same time. Do it... you won’t regret it! Salmon and fries for 2 all cooked together.

Perfect addition to our 5th wheel camper. I needed something to replace the propane oven so I wasn't burning through it so quickly. We are currently traveling full time in our camper and this thing has been amazing. Going on 3 months of using it now and it's so easy to keep clean. I have baked pies in this thing. I have fried junk food in it. I have baked a pizza and a cake. I have made a lasagna. I have dehydrated jerky.. there is seriously nothing you cannot do in it. I thought it might be too big but it is not. ...and I'm in a camper! Good choice.

I had a smaller Cosori air fryer and wanted to go to the 5.8Qt size. I got this instead. Both are 1700W but this one has a removable grate bottom. Unfortunately that makes it much harder to clean. The grate also has 4 silicone pads that can fall out and get lost. For example, when i want to dump out excess water from cooking frozen wings, there is no easy way to do it without the wings and bottom tray wanting to fall out into the sink. On the Cosori, The inner basket is removable and you just dump out the outer basin. Results though are excellent. The higher wattage and large cooking surface make the larger 5.8Qt air fryers much better than any of the small ones. Bottom line: This air fryer gets you great results, but I would get a Cosori XL if I could do it again.

Am very pleased with the Instant Omni. First of all, Instant is a top-shelf brand! The oven is nicely sized for many uses, looks nice on the counter. Little bit of a learning curve going from a conventional oven. You really do need to reduce the time. We have had some VERY crispy onion rings and pizza! ? Believe that the default times are correct and then just watch the food for a bit. Then it’s so perfect!

We moved into our camper full time almost 2 years ago and have never had the use of our oven. So for Christmas this year we got this, and it has been a total game changer! We absolutely love it. We cook everything in this from heating up pizza, to cooking brownies, or deliciously moist pork loins. The only thing I might add is that when baking I tend to turn the temperature down a bit since the time to temperature ratio is a little off there. Otherwise, it's fantastic, takes up very little space, and cooks anything you want in no time!

Wow. Had already been convinced by Instant Pots (8 and 3qt) that this brand made great products. This air fryer and subsequent service made me an overwhelming believer in Instant Pot brand. First off the Omni is stellar. Chicken on rotisserie. Skin crispy, flavorful and meat incredibly moist. Bought a small roast. Trimmed and marinated some to try Jerky. Wonderful. Put rest on rotisserie and seasoned. Incredible. 20 mins and had glorious roast. Been dehydrating and was able to dry orange rind, apple slices and peel for snacks and powders. Can’t wait to try more. And to top it off there was a small defect in the one I got where the screw grooves were not in one of the v shaped rotisserie PCs. Contacted them. They promptly sent a replacement. This company’s products and their service is unbelievable and incredible to find these days. Instant Pot has a customer for life

Love the entire thing, can cook just about anything in it. Pair it with an insta pot and it’s almost all you’ll need. Only down side is that whole rotisserie’s don’t fit in it. You can probably do game hens, but it said rotisserie chicken and was really wanting to cook a whole bird. Other than that it is great. If you only want it for a rotisserie look else where, if you want a great air fryer, this is the one for you.

I tried to put this toaster oven through its paces, using its various settings to see how it performed. This has numerous presets such as bake, proof, reheat, toast, air fry etc. The appliance comes with a standard toasting rack, A tray, a wire basket, and a rotisserie set. As I am vegetarian, I have not used the rotisserie. But I have used the bread proofing feature as well as the air fry. First of all, this is a fairly large unit for a toaster oven. So make certain you have enough counter space for this. You can see from the photo how it just It’s under my cabinets next to the refrigerator. I found the instructions to be rather mediocre. The booklet merely showed what parts were included in the very basic features for operation. I had to modeled my way throgh as there were no suggestions or “recipes”. For example, the air freight feature gave no explanation on how to go about using it. I discovered that placing the item to be fried in the wire basket, sitting on the foil lined sheet with a layer of oil drizzled on top, actually produced fairly decent results. The photo of fries came from a bag of frozen french fries, not freshly cut. It is not as good as fleet deep fried potatoes from the restaurant, but it is respectable. After some trial and error, I discovered that for any baking activity Such as bread or casserole, you must turn the temperature down by about 20% And keep a close eye on your food as it will be done faster. I was pleased with the proving feature, and once I figured out the temperature in big time, my dinner rolls turned out quite nicely. What is a little peculiar, is that each feature seems to have its own pre sets. For example, if you push the button for bake you have a selection of things like potato, bread, pizza, chicken, and so forth. Within each of these presets is a set range of cook time and temperature. You have the ability to move within that range a bit, But it is not the full range of total possible temperature for an oven. I found this operation is a little clumsy As you have to tinker around a bit if you need to customize cook time and temperature. I did use the dehydrate feature as well. Drying fresh parsley took only about an hour, while carrot chunks took about nine hours. So far, both have retained their color. However, this is another example where some suggestions and recommendations for various Foods would have been useful. I do like that it is easy to see your food while it is cooking. And I find myself using this frequently as I don’t always need a full-size oven. Overall, I am glad that I have this unit, and it is a good piece to have for one or two person households. We Will even be able to plug it into our generator to make dinner if we have a prolonged power outage. That is not easily done with a standard oven.

Bought this for my wife. The whole family uses this. You cannot go wrong with this Air Fryer. I researched a little before and this one is ranked in the top 5. It works so well that we threw away our deep fryer. The whole family feels better since we have been using it. I cook eggs sunny side up, hot dogs, hamburgers, bacon, pork chops, fish, grilled chicken, etc. I will say it does come with a rack which helps. We also only use olive oil. Clean up is a breeze with just wiping out with paper towels.

Bought this as a convenient way to make frozen french fries. It's reasonably easy to use. It's a bit faster than the oven . The results are about the same. Clean-up is reasonably easy. No, food doesn't come out tasting like it was fried. It was cooked in hot air, and that's what it tastes like. Fries from your oven taste pretty much the same. One annoying quirk: The basket has a plate in the bottom that keeps the foot raised slightly. If it were attached in some way, getting the food out would be simple matter of dumping it into a bowl or plate. You can't do that. Clean-up is reasonably easy: a squirt of liquid soap (after cooling), fill with hot water and rinse well. Not harder or easier than a baking sheet. The only real advantage here is time savings. Preheating verses an oven is a couple of minutes vs. maybe 10 with the oven. Cook time (in the case of frozen fries) is cut from 18 minutes to 10. Disadvantages? It's not particularly loud, but hogs a good bit of counter space. It's hard to justify the expense and countertop space for such limited utility and meh results.

This stainless steel toaster oven looks really nice. I have not started using it; I am just trying to get myself familiar with it. Here are what I’ve found annoying by playing around with it and from going over the instructions that came with it: 1. I am unable to place it exactly where I wanted. The power cord is really really short and the instruction is “never use with an extension cord”. 2. Whenever it is plugged in the cooking status displays "OFF". The “OFF” actually means "Standby". 3. Whenever it is done cooking the cooking status reverts back to display “OFF”. One would think the “OFF” will eventually timed out and be gone. No, the “OFF” is on display indefinitely until unplugged. 4. The instruction stated “Unplug the appliance when not in use”. I’ve found it amazing that it came with an array of beautiful buttons, but there is no button to turn the cooking status display panel on/off or to switch the power on/off.

Excellent product! Easy to clean and works very fast. Makes cooking super easy! Two Items to note: 1. The rubber tabs on the pan insert come off easily when washing, so keep track of them. 2. This AF cooks hot and often I find myself reducing the recommended cooking times on recipes and instructions.

We are returning it. It is very loud. Louder than my microwave. The touch screen doesn't work that well. I have to hold the buttons down for a few seconds. It has an awful burning smell like rubber and left an after taste. The smell circlated throughout our house. I tried to burn off the smell 4 times, and it was still there. The machine also makes my kitchen fairly hot. Hotter than using my oven. Didn't get much help at all from customer service. Very disappointed.

I had been wanting an air fryer/dehydrater/small over for awhile but didn’t pull the trigger until recently. I almost got a Breville, but it’s soooo big. This thing showed up on a Target ad for $80...I HAD to get it at that price. I found it on Amazon for the same price at the time (although it’s gone up). So far I’ve only used the air fryer function and it’s FANTASTIC and sooo easy to clean. All interior accessories are dishwasher safe and the door pops off for an easy wipe down. It heats up quickly and it’s barely louder than a microwave. The chicken thighs I did were BETTER than using the sous vide. The only problems I have with it are the lack of instruction and care in the user manual (but the instant pot website compensates for it) and I wish it had just 1 more interior rack. Also, the requirement to turn food during the cook process can get tricky and messy until you figure out a method. The interior racks are perforated and aren’t physically supported once they’re about half way removed, so you’ll have to remove them completely, or at least past the drip pan to turn your food. The simple remedy that I’ve used is to put a small foil lined baking sheet on the open door when removing the racks. Oh yeah, it has a rotisserie too! That is next on to do list! I absolutely recommend it, but Instant Pot has never steered me wrong.

I have tried the Bake and Airfry features so far and I LOVE IT! The air fryer heats up very quickly! So there's no need to "reheat" when you're going to use it because it normally heats up in less than 5 minutes. The noise is about the same as any other air fryer. I also enjoy the "add food" and "turn food over" prompts that the fryer does, alongside the beeps! The knob to manage the time and temperature, allow for flexibility and you can change the time and temperature whenever you need to. The weight aspect is something that I like as well, it is not on the heavy side (when I use it I'm basically lifting it up about 4 feet.

If there is something I can say that has changed my life in terms of cooking at home for me and my family, it's to have three things... a huge toaster/convection oven, a dehydrator and an air fryer. The Instant Omni Plus Toaster Oven gives you all that in one! In my home, I have three big kitchen appliances to do those separately and here we are at the end of 2019 and a device that does it all! How awesome is that? In fact, it's actually an 11-in-1 multicooker large capacity 26L Convection oven. First, taking out of the box, I was surprised how big and tall this is. It comes with a Oven rack, cooking pan, air fry basket, rotisseries spits and forks and rotisserie lift. The plug is hardwired and there is a 12 month warranty. The Instant Omni Plus Toaster Oven is digital and so you can cook things up to 450 degrees. First, let me talk about the oven, while it's a little less in width to my current convection oven, it still offers a good amount of space to cook things. First big test, I wanted to cook my wagyu burgers. Put it on Air Fry, Meat setting (by a turn of a dial, to set it in place) and used the pre-setting and it worked perfectly! The meat was tender and delicious, with some crisp on the top. It really worked well and I was pleased. I then tried french fries and popcorn chicken and once again, perfect! The next test was trying the oven to bake a lemon sour cream/Philadelphia cake and it worked perfectly! I also baked a pizza with it. I wanted to test my egg frittata but I didn't have the necessary ingredients, but I can fit my dutch oven in there, so I'm confident it would have worked perfectly. The oven offers so many things to do that it's actually amazing! Now, everything I have to say about this device is positive, but there are a few things I want to mention. A. It's height is quite tall at 14.39 inches in height. For my home, I have my appliances under cabinets, as there are enough inches for heat to dissipate. For this device, because of it's height, it's very close to my cabinets and it is recommended to have several inches of space from the top and all around. For those curious, the dimensions are: 17.68L x 16.34W x 14.39H B. Heat - I do know that cooking my burgers, similar to an actual oven which allows heat and steam to dissipate, the same will happen with this oven. My other convection oven or air fryer doesn't do that (until you open it) but this one does. The Instant Omni Plus allows for heat dissipation through the sides, so it's very good, but you need to make sure you have the actual space for this appliance and also nothing is too close above and to the sides of it. Overall, this is an amazing appliance from Instant. I believe a convection/toaster oven, air fryer and dehydrator are wonderful to have and I use them quite often. But they do take up space in my kitchen and now to have an appliance that does it all plus other duties (up to 11) is amazing! I highly recommend the Instant Omni Plus Toaster Oven. It's fantastic, it does the job amazingly well, but I do recommend making sure that you have the space for it and nothing too close to the sides when cooking. Recommended!

Unfortunately, this unit is too big for my countertops and I didn't want it sitting under my cabinets and so close to the stove, so I sent it home with my daughter. She is excited because she can make a meal for the entire family with the rotisserie and the bottom cooking pan. This comes with the air fryer basket, cooking pan, oven rack, rotisserie lift and rotisseries spits and forks. You can toast the top and bottom of bread easily. There are 11 preset programs. Besides toasting bread, this is also a convection oven, an air fryer, a dehydrator and a rotisserie. You can do just about anything with this baby. This one is great for a family of four. And your kitchen won't heat up. The outside of the oven does get warm, so be careful. As a kitchen appliance, it is great. If it weren't so big, it would be sitting in this house cooking chicken tenders and tater tots. The size is 16.34 inches in width, 17.68 inches in length and 14.39 inches in height. It also weighs a little over 24 pounds. If you have the counter space for a convection oven or toaster oven, this can replace both of them easily and still give you more functions. The chicken in the picture was injected and they had to wait for it to go down to fit in the oven. They said the chicken was delicious and moist. One thing to note: no recipe book included, so they had to go online and find information for size, temperature and time.

First off, my apologies for being late in posting this review. I received this fryer about a week or so ago but didn't know what to make with it because . . . I had NEVER used an air fryer before. Also, this particular model DOES NOT COME WITH RECIPES! Nothing, zilch, nada! You pretty much have to look for your recipes online because the Instant Vortex will not provide you with any. They will give you a very broad time and heat guide but that's it.

In fact, my main complaint with this air fryer is mainly on the bare-bones instructions. For that reason, a lot of what you do with this air fryer is going to have to be through trial and error. There are more instructions to prevent you from lighting your house on fire than there are in the operation of the machine.

So, as someone who has never used an air fryer before, especially an Instant Vortex Plus 6 Quart 6-in-1 thingamajig, what did I think of it?

AWESOME! But before we get to why it's awesome, I need to tell you what you're going to get when you purchase this device. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE PURCHASING: 1.) Most timers (at least in the US) when they are 00:00 it means 00 mins : 00 seconds. Not so with this air fryer. With the Instant Vortex the first two digits are hours and the last two digits are minutes. This was not clear in the instruction manual. Remember, I've never used an air fryer before, so this was new to me. 2.) When using air fryer mode, at around 3 quarters time, the fryer will ask you to turn over your food. This was also not very clear in the instructions. 3.) The basket is SMALL and not ideal for party size servings. Six quarts is good for a couple, but anyone with a big family is going to find themselves running multiple batches to get enough food cooked. If you're planning a big super bowl wing fest, you might want to get something bigger. BONUS: The air fryer DOES NOT get dangerously hot like an oven. You can accidentally touch the top of the fryer and not burn your hand off. The vent in the back is also warm but not blazing hot. As long as the safety instructions are followed, this machine feels very safe to use. Somehow we didn't blow a fuse when using the microwave and the air fryer at the same time, so that was also impressive, but your results may vary. All right, so let's get into exactly how I used my air fryer as someone who has never, ever used one before. - We added pepper and salt to the raw wings. Then we greased the tray and basket with Pam cooking oil. EDIT: (Don't grease the tray with PAM. You can spray your food not your tray. Or use a substitute instead of PAM.) - We found an online recipe that was for 24 minutes. At the twelve minute mark we flip over the wings and cook the other side. - After putting the food into the tray and setting the fryer for 12 minutes, we quickly discovered that the fryer must PREHEAT first. After it ran through its preheat cycle, then it said "ADD FOOD." Whoops. The wings stayed in there anyway. - At around 5 minutes, the fryer then said "TURN FOOD OVER." We didn't know it was going to give us this prompt. So we took out the basket to check on the wings, they were cooking but not yet finished, so we flipped them over. - Once the timer was finished, we removed the basket and saw that the wings were halfway cooked, awesome! We popped them back in for another 12 minutes but made note that in the future, we just put them in for 24 and wait for the fryer to tell us when to flip. Also, not once did I feel a blast of hot air like I do when taking things out of the oven. The fryer and the basket felt safe to handle AT ALL TIMES. - After another twelve minutes it was time to taste test. Did the wings cook thoroughly or were we about to get a case of salmonella? - The answer was YES! The wings cooked thoroughly. The exterior skin was nice and crunchy while the inside was juicy and flavorful. All of the excess oil dripped off of the wings and settled at the bottom of the basket. Awesome! - Clean up required dumping out the remaining oil into a bag, then cleaning the basket and grill with paper towels and water. THEN WE TRIED COOKING SALMON USING THE BAKE SETTING. - Grease the grill with pam. EDIT: DO NOT GREASE THE GRILL WITH PAM. You can put PAM on your food but not the grill tray. Supposedly this starts to erode some of the coating on the tray. Whoops! Found this out recently. - Pop 1.6lbs of Salmon into the basket. (This time we waited for the preheat) - Cooked for 7 minutes at 389 I believe. Don't remember. - Took the salmon out and found that the interior was still raw. Whoops. Again, no recipes means we don't know what the heck we're doing with this thing. Pop it back in for another 7 minutes. - Salmon bakes and is now thoroughly cooked. Still good, still flavorful, but we underestimated cooking time. WHAT ABOUT THE BROIL, ROAST, REHEAT & DEHYDRATE FEATURE? I, unfortunately, do not know. We haven't really roasted, broiled, or dehydrated food in my house. However, if the chicken wings and salmon are the standard it sets, then I'm sure those features will work perfectly. In fact, I have to say that I am supremely impressed with the Instant Vortex 6-in-1 multi use fryer. It's extremely safe t use, It cooks the food thoroughly, and it's super easy to clean. If you're looking for an air fryer with the versatility of an oven but without the hassle or increase to your gas bill, than this air fryer is definitely going to be a perfect fit for you! Very, very happy with this device and I can't wait to fry more food with it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Review of Instant Vortex 6-Quart 4-in-1 Air Fryer with Roast, Broil, Bake, and Reheat functions. This device does not represent the same degree of hazard as encountered with an Instant Pot but the unreasonably short electric cord length (31 inches or 78.7 cm of useful length) forces users to either place the device in an unsafe location or to use extension cords. These devices do get very hot and a user will often be forced to move the hot device (plus Instant Pot is under pressure) which will include twisting and turning the body, place on a stove top if that is the area with open space high enough above the device (due to cabinets), etc. A far more reasonable and safe length would be closer to 4 feet (48 inches or 121.9 cm). Devices producing this much heat (and pressure) should be in wider open areas not forced by cord length to be under cabinets where the heat and moisture will not be dissipated as well as if in a more open area. Performed recommended test operation (400F for 20 minutes) with no food present noting that the pre-heat cycle took about 2 minutes and 20 seconds from room temperature. The Turn Food beeps occurred after 14 minutes but the unit will continue operating unless a user removes the basket so it appears that the Turn Food is set for approximately 75% of set cook time and the same approximate ratio repeated with other cooking durations (i.e., hearing the beeps to turn food after 75% of set cook time has elapsed). I immediately did the mandatory test cooking of fries following the test operation. Despite the unit already being pre-heated the pre-heat period went for another 2 minutes and 20 seconds so it appears that pre-heat is not a determination that the unit has sufficiently warmed but that a pre-determined duration has elapsed which should result in being brought to the desired temperature. The timing may vary with the set cooking temperature but I have yet to test that. The lowest temperature setting available on the Vortex is 180F with a maximum of 400F. This is the 4 in 1 and not the Vortex Plus which is the 6 in 1 version. Reviews are co-mingled between the different models. Using the Vortex as a dehydrator will not work due to not being able to set the temperature low enough. The basket is not as deep as expected but is therefore reasonably wide and long which allows for better separation of items being cooked and made an extreme difference in cooking fries for the first time. Overall dimensions are listed by InstantAppliances as being ”in: 12.36L x 14.92W x 12.83H |  cm: 31.4L x 37.9W x 32.6H.” Something equally important is the dimensions of the cooking basket. I measured this to be approximately 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) deep without the cooking tray and the interior length and width came in about 9.5 and 9.6 inches (24.1 x 24.4 cm). There is a right and wrong way for the cooking tray to be inserted and there are arrows to show proper alignment. Although there is some friction the cooking tray will not stay inside the basket if attempting to pour out the contents. Very slight burn on a hand proved that. Use tongs to remove cooked items. Something that I greatly appreciate is that my previous air fryer had an inner basket which although handy also has narrow vanes for air flow. Although not sharp to touch these vanes very rapidly destroyed sponges and are very difficult to clean. The Instant Vortex does not have such an inner basket and while the cooking tray will also be harder on cleaning items it will not be as bad as those vanes. There are some recipes on the InstantAppliances website but recipes for Instant Pot, their blender and the various Vortex products are scrambled together. The emphasis to push or sell the Vortex Plus as opposed to both models is shown as a searching recipes for "vortex" returns only those starting with the words "Vortex Plus" and there are not very many of those. All photos of the recipes which include the air fryer show only the Vortex Pro. Overall this is a great air fryer except that the electric cord is too short and rating suffers slightly for that.

My first air fryer was a small Gourmia. It was fine, but it didn't have much capacity. Worse yet, the pan had vents in it that kept it from holding soapy water during cleaning. So I bought a second Gourmia that had more capacity and a pan that would hold soapy water for cleaning. I've been using my air fryers for scallops, lobster tail, sausage links, hamburger patties and anything previously barbecued. It's quick, easy to clean, and if it isn't quite as good a the barbecue, that's more than offset by the convenience. It's also great for re-heating a slice of pizza -- much better than a microwave or a toaster oven. I came across the Instant Vortex Air Fryer at Best Buy while waiting for a new car radio to be installed. I wasn't dissatisfied with the Gourmia, but because I use an air fryer so often, I thought it would be worth buying even if it was only slightly better. Simply put, I love this thing. As another review pointed out, it has two cooking trays that can be used on three levels, and it cooks a lot hotter/faster on the top level than on the bottom. The other reviewer was apparently disappointed, but I view this as a feature. Today I cooked sausage patties on the top level, and they came out very dark and well done but without being burned. They'd have cooked fine on the bottom level, but they wouldn't have been as dark and might have been dryer. I've always air-fried scallops on a tray, and they've always come out brown on the top and bottom just as you'd get from a barbecue. But just for curiosity I air-fried a batch in the rotating basket (lightly sprayed with canola oi), and they came out golden brown all over as if they'd been deep fried. They didn't taste better, but they looked more elegant. In summary, I like this Instant Vortex air fryer and see it as an improvement over the two Gourmia models. It's very easy to use and easy to clean, with features enough better to justify the higher price .

We love this machine! Food tastes amazing. Easy clean up. I lined the bottom tray in foil- like manual suggested. Just remember to secure it because of the fan. Also manual states you should rotate the trays from top to bottom. We flip our food, flip the tray around and rotate the tray from top to bottom. Cooks perfect and even.

I bought this item with great expectations, given what a life changer the instapot has been. First day I had great experience cooking frozen food and experimenting with the results. The rotisserie was my favorite feature... second day, I noticed it was not turning the right way. Turns out, the rotisserie is made of some sort of plastic/rubber that melted (see it photo).

This is my fourth air fryer, and so far despite a few hiccups, it's my favorite. First is the size. Even though it's just my wife and I, I find 6 qt. to be the perfect size for large portions that still get enough room for the hot air inside to do its thing. Second, it evenly heats better and faster than anything else I've used. Having overdone tips on my fries was just something I thought I had to live with in order to get them to crunch. Not so with this fryer; perfectly crisp and brown through and through. Third is convenience. Unlike the analogue dials of past models, this hast a digital interface that lets you set exact time and temp, something that I find critical in not overcooking. Also, it beeps and gives you a 10 second window to put the food in when it gets to temp and also when it's time to flip the food; a great feature for beginners. As for things I don't like: Having a Vortex and and Vortex Plus is a silly idea. The two models are not different enough to warrant the extra confusion. More and more companies are doing this and I think it's a giant mistake. Finding ways to sell practically the same item at higher price points has got to go. Second, the manual is terrible. The only thing that is useful is a single table with, but even then the cook time are off. Do yourself a favor and knock off 20% of what's listed. Also, nowhere does it describe what the different buttons do! Finally, I'm not confident in the electronics holding up. I've already had a few issues getting the touch buttons to register, and have even seen the countdown clock spaz out and go from 3 min to 1 min. So far nothing that's ruined my food, but not convinced these things are going to magically get better and worse overtime.

I tested it out the first night using frozen fish sticks and frozen steak fries. Both turned out much better than oven baking. I feel the fish sticks even turned out better than pan frying. I did not use any oil when I cooked either of them. The bottom tray does not cook as well as the top, I ended up moving all the fish up to the top tray and after it was done, took the french fries and moved them to the top tray. Otherwise, if you do not move the food up the bottom seems soggy and not crisp. It is important to flip the food to make sure all sides are crisp. The unfortunate part is I will most likely just use the top rack for now. The second experiment I made, was carne asada. It is raining and i didn't want to go outside and grill and carne asada needs some char on it to taste good. It worked perfectly using the top tray. I used the bottom tray to cook onions to go along with the meal (since they do not need to be crispy). The drippings from the top rack also helped saute the onions below. My third and final food item was toasting a croissant sliced in half with cheese on each side. I normally have this for a snack but have to turn on the oven and wait for the broiler to heat up. In this case using the air fryer worked great, super fast, and more uniform broiling of the bread and cheese. Clean up was simple, and I look forward to trying new things. It would be nice to be able to order additional pans so that when you need to make many servings you can just take them out and add the new pan instead of emptying and refilling a really hot piece of metal. I am also looking forward to using the rotating basket the next time, I think that will be easier once I figure out how to install it.

There is a lot to like about this vortex 6 in 1 air fryer. A roomy interior cooking of space of 9 1/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches. The broil and bake functions that allow it to be used as more of an oven, roast function, and dehydrate. You will need to get some sort of trivet to really use the dehydrate function. I roasted peanuts, AF bacon, Baked cookies, broiled Parmesan mounds to make crisps and it all worked great. I even dehydrated some watermelon. I love that it beeps and says to add food when it gets to temperature. No more standing around looking for a green light or a light to go out, this is great for the functions like bake and broil. This is probably the easiest AF I've used that has multi functions. Plug in and use, temperature, time, picking a function, all very very easy. And with the knob you can change the temp and time while it's cooking rather than having to turn it off and reset. There is a manual, but it tells you to go online (gives you a link) for recipes and tips. So this is all fabulous and you're probably nodding along and wondering why, if this is fabulous, with it's ease of use, successful settings, ease of cleaning, is it a 4? well, it's more of a 4 1/2 but here's the deal. You know how most basket fryers have the detachable basket from the base? this doesn't work that way. at first I thought this is great! I don't want to think how many times I brain lapsed and unclicked the basket causing the bottom to drop ... happily usually on a counter or over the sink. Still.. Having the handle be part of the bottom unit seemed spiffy, until... Okay, so the bottom basket is one unit. Then there is a flat insert that has a divet in the middle and a thin metal handle that folds down. the insert has the usual drains that the basket insert in any other AF would have. So this is great, no more having to push the button and release the basket. Until I actually used it. On a regular AF I release the basket, the fat or drippings or whatever are on the bottom and I have a basket I can easily dump onto a plate or into a bowl. Now I have to put on oven mitts (thank goodness I have some that are glove like) and fish around for this little metal handle and pull the flat shelf insert up while trying not to spill the food into the bottom of the basket where there are drippings and burned bits and then try to balance it while sliding the food off onto a plate or bowl. Or fish around with tongs to a spoon to get the food out. Not an issue with a roast but a pain with fries or peanuts. Is this annoying enough to deduct a star? I've had this a few days and have come to the conclusion it really is. At least half a star. Is it enough not to recommend this AF, no. There are too many pros to this one con. But it's something to be aware of. You will probably want to buy a basket insert with a handle on top that you can pull things out easily.

I have the vortex but love this even more as I can cook bigger quantities and don't have to rotate racks. Don't miss the rotating basket since it has a wire one that works great for fries etc. The only thing I don't care for is that it gets really hot to the touch and the vortex only got warm. Very happy with my purchase.

Instant pot just recently came out with their Vortex and Vortex Plus air fryers. Now they have released a larger toaster oven version, the Instant Omni 9 in 1 (also known as Instant Pot Omni) and the Instant Omni Plus.  The ovens have the following functions:  Air Fry, Toast, Bake, Broil, Roast, Slow Cook (a Plus only feature), Reheat, Proof (for raising dough, a Plus only feature), and Dehydrate. I finally got my hands on an Omni, so here is my Instant Pot Omni review all updated based on my model.

Seems like a hot deal to me. The next one down is nearly $250.00. And MSRP is quite a bit higher. Not many this big for this price from my research. Great reviews and tons of functions.
