KitchenAid Pro Line Series 7-Qt Bowl Lift Stand Mixer with 1.3 HP Motor1. Motor horsepower for our mixer motors was measured using a dynamometer, a machine laboratories routinely use to measure the mechanical power of motors. Our 1.3 horsepower (HP) motor reference reflects the horsepower rating of the motor itself and not the mixer's horsepower output to the mixer bowl. This robust motor, the backbone of our new mixer, delivers .44 HP to the bowl enabling your mixer to deliver consistent power to small and large loads with less heat build-up; resulting in years of dependable mixing. When combined with and guided by our new advanced motor control board, this is our longest lasting and most efficient motor yet. Simply put, our new, highly efficient, special purpose motor delivers the power you need when you need it.

What can I say? This mixer costs a premium ? but it’s super nice, quiet ? (imo) and can mix all the ? cookies, pizza ?, or bread ? that you want. Its sturdy, ours is beautiful candy apple red and has a great stainless steel bowl that snaps into place very easily. No complains yet and we’ve owned ours for approx 3 months.

This was a gift for my mom and she loves it. I know a lot of people complain about the “tick tick” sound that the machine made but we didn’t have that issue, It was as quiet as a mouse. The package came in perfect condition and also earlier than expected.

So far so good with this mixer. I got this for my wife this past Christmas. So far she absolutely loves it. Had read some reviews that said theirs made a horrible grinding noise while in operation and I was a bit apprehensive, but to date we have had no issues. Machine had no problem with making several large batches of chocolate chip cookies for the holidays. We don’t make anything like bread, so haven’t truly tested it’s capabilities. But we’ve been happy with the unit thus far.

Mixer works great, I bake alot of bread and make dumplings alot and it works effortlessly. Big step up from the 5qt mixer I used to have. Would recommend to anyone who has a serious use for it. High speed also works great for beating egg whites and making fresh whipped cream.

Rock solid piece of equipment that can be a workhorse and last for years. Well build and no vibrations. If you're going to use it a lot then go for this larger model. Larger bowl and upgraded components make it worth the extra cost.

I got this blender almost a year ago, have used it like crazy. So far it's taking the abuse of constant use. Still working like new. Great for blending dough for bread, and pastries. It is very heavy so its not something that you want to be moving around all the time. I've had at least 6 other blenders before this brand, and I can say that even though this was expensive. It was worth every penny. Recommend this brand over all the other lower priced brands out there.

This mixer was, as promised, brand new in original box with all paperwork etc. I LOVE that it has a FIVE YEAR GUARANTEE from Kitchenaid! BUT, it is just too big for my taste. I don’t intend to make humongous batches of anything, and my old five quart was the perfect size for what I do. The bowl alone is just a huge thing. To pick it up, lock it in place, carry it when full, pour out whatever is in it, wash it up in the sink, etc, etc. It’s just huge, and cumbersome. If Kitchenaid were smart, they would put this motor, and guarantee, on a five quart mixer. I would HAPPILY pay a hundred more for that combination!

As I've mentioned in some other reviews, I'm an amateur when it comes to cooking, but I've been taking various classes and trying to practice those skills. Some of the classes I've taken involved using this mixer, although of a different color. I used to have the Artisan model of KitchenAid mixer and it did alright for what I used to ask of it. However, I ran into some challenges with stiffer dough or larger quantities, which is why I decided to upgrade. It's early days yet, but I haven't been disappointed so far. I've made a few different kinds of cookies and a variety of biscuit and pastry doughs and they've all come out as I expected. The mixer has a bit more horsepower and torque than the Artisan and it shows. It's been able to knead dough effortlessly and much more quietly than the Artisan. I like some of the simple features such as the gradual ramp-up in the speed when you turn it on, which helps avoid flinging flour all over the kitchen. My occasional bouts of idiocy can overcome any technology, but this feature helps a bit with that particular bit of carelessness. I've found the plastic guard to be basically alright although I wished it attached in a more secure way -- I'm forever bumping into it an knocking it out of position. Cleanup has been straightforward. I don't put the attachments in the dishwasher so I can't speak to how well they hold up in that environment. However, cleaning everything really doesn't take much time and doesn't require special cleaners so it isn't that much of burden to me. A few things of interest. I recall seeing a review where the process of getting the bowl seated seemed to be a challenge. I can't speak to anything that might have simply been defective on that particular unit, but I have found the process to be simple. The bowl will tell you when it's seated properly. If you're struggling with it you might be overthinking it -- I saw that happen a time or two in my cooking classes by folks who weren't familiar with the process. Follow the instructions and you should be fine. The unit is heavy, so you likely won't want to constantly be moving it to and from the counter. It also has non-skid feet to keep it from "walking" all over the place. That helps with some of the heavier doughs I've made, but it can be a bit of a pain if the only place you can store it is under the overhang of a cabinet. In my case, I need to pull the unit out from under the overhanging cabinet to get easy access to everything. Those non-skid feet make that interesting since they grip very well. Be prepared to find some way to move it around if you're in a similar situation. I've taken to using some heavy duty shelf liner beneath mine to make it a bit easier to relocate without compromising its grip. Something else I needed to get used to was the changing out of the attachments such as the whisk, beaters, and dough hook. On the Artisan you could tilt the head up and swap out the attachment. With this unit you need to detach one tool, remove it and the bowl, add the new attachment to the bowl, move the bowl and attachment into position, and then attach the new tool to the mixer. It isn't hard, but it feels clunky. It's just a side-effect of the lift-bowl system as they've designed it. Another comment that I've seen a time or two is that there isn't a spring to exert pressure to keep the attachments in place on the mixer. This is something the Artisan had and I can understand the logic behind it. However, with this mixer, I haven't noticed the attachments bouncing around at all while the unit is in use, so I've stopped worrying about it. The way the tools attach to the mixer makes it fairly unlikely that they'll pop off -- the weight of the tool and the orbital rotation of the mixer are enough to keep everything in place. So, in summary, I've found this to be a solid upgrade from my Artisan. It works well and it works more quietly. There's a small learning curve in terms of finding your preferred way of dealing with the bowl and the attachments when you want to switch them out, but it isn't all that complicated. The unit is heavy, so I'd suggest finding a good place for it on your counter and just leaving it there. That will also keep you more inclined to use it if the mood strikes you.

This is my 3rd Kitchenaid mixer. My first belonged to my mother and I inherited that one. It was too small for my needs so I purchased the 5 qt. I was amazed with its style and color but as I gained more baking skills I needed another one that was bigger and bolder. I looked at several to include the 8 qt commercial grade. Found the 8 qt too large for my needs so I chose this one. Best choice ever made. It’s quieter than past ones and still have extra room to make more batches at once.

I bake all of our bread, and this is my 4th KitchenAid mixer (first one in 1976). So far, this one works beautifully. I have made several batches of bread since buying it, and it kneaded the dough well. Very powerful, which was the reason I bought it. I like the redesign of the dough hook and the coating on the dough hook and the paddle. I also made a cake where I needed to beat 3 egg whites. Even though that is a small number of egg whites, the redesigned beater did a great job. As someone else noted, the bowl and beaters from the 6 quart model will work, which came in handy when I needed 2 bowls. I am very pleased with my new bright red mixer and plan on using it for many years and many loaves of bread.

I've had them all, repaired them all including the 6 qt that came with the ceramic/bakelite gear cover that had a tendancy to crack. The 6 qt. is a good machinge...just too much noise. So when I had the opportunity over Christmas to use my daughter-in-laws new 7 qt to see how quiet it was I was hooked. Hard to say what KA changed, but this machine is decibles less noise than the 6 qt. Even the new 6 qt. is noisy by comparrison. So a bright, candy apple red was ordered the next day and shipped back to Ecuador with us in a suitcase. Baking bread and cinnamon buns frequently and mixing yeast dough with the 6 qt. was breeze. Used my DIL's for cinnamon buns before leaving. Love it! Sold the 6 qt. and now I have a quiet kitchen.

... the price is not competitive to other brands which probably are even easier to use. However, people like me love the retro look of a KitchenAid. I would buy this over any other brand any time just because of that alone. That said, this particular model is kinda cumbersome to use. The bowl needs to be snapped into place with quite some force. That should be a lot easier (without sacrificing the look).

We bought this on sale and so the price was too good to pass up. We thought it might be too big for what we needed, but it has turned out to be a blessing. We can easily mix ingredients for 24 HUGE cinnamon rolls (starts with 10 cups of flour) without breaking a sweat. Looks great in Candy Apple Red. Yes, ours does have the clicking noise when under heavy load, but we recorded a video of the mixer working and called KitchenAid Customer Support. While we were on the phone, the representative watched the video on YouTube and told us the sound was normal for a heavy load. She said hers does the same thing. And she was so friendly! She even commented on the way we have our assorted hooks/beaters hanging on the wall behind the mixer. Even with the clicking, the mixer is very quiet compared to older models without the DC motor. Someone stated that this mixer is made in the USA. It is not. There are strict rules that allow for a company to say their products are "Made in USA," and this mixer is "assembled in USA" from internationally-sourced parts. In other words, the parts are made all over the world and shipped to America where they are assembled by American workers. It's a start, I guess.

I have a 5 quart Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer. We I would make my bread dough, there just wasn't enough room in the bowl and I would get dough over the flat top of the dough hook. My wife and I decided that we needed a slightly larger mixer. The seven quart pro line looked to be just what we wanted. The seven quart capacity, more power, and the capability of purchasing a five quart bowl and stainless steel dough hook made the mixer perfect. My only concern was the reviews complaining about the noise and the "clicking" sound. Based on the number of positive reviews I decided to purchase the mixer. When it arrived I carefully unpacked it (just in case I needed to return it). Thankfully when I turned it on there wasn't any "clicking" sounds and as side by side noise comparison confirmed that it was actually quieter than the 5 quart Artisan. I have made several batches of rye bread dough and couldn't be more satisfied. I understand the frustration that people have when they get a clicking or loud appliance, I guess so far I am one of the lucky ones.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I bought a bigger and stronger mixer while using 9 years old 4.5Qt mixer. Through many reviews and videos, I choose Proline 7Qt. KSM7586P and decided to buy it. This mixer, powered by a DC motor, was attractive for its power and quietness. As soon as I received this beautiful mixer, I unpacked it, turned it on, and tested it. OMG... Noise was repeated while rotating. As the speed increased, it sounded like a Steam locomotive sound. Another defect was found. the paint was peeled off. When I finished the test, I asked for a return. And Amazon handled the return quickly.

We bought this mixer to help with the home made dog treats my husband created. The dough was very heavy and took a lot of effort on his part. He didn't think any mixer would be able to handle it. Not only did it handle the dough, but we were able to make three batches in the time it took for him to make one. AND he came away with energy to spare. And it has done anything I have attempted to date. I LOVE it!

I have always used a hand mixer. After lumpy potatoes and cake mixes, I decided to buy a stand mixer. I have a very large family so I opted for the large 7qt. model. A larger investment to begin with but I don't regret it a bit. It has been able to handle anything I throw at it so far. From a triple batch of brownies to dough for my tamales. Go ahead and bite the bullet, you'll love it.

I have used a 4.5 qt Kitchenaid for years and it was time to upgrade. I bake bread at least twice weekly, bake cookies and make Royal icing frequently as well as use the grater attachment for hard cheeses. This work horse doesn’t even break a sweat. Included with this model is the pigtail shaped dough hook. It is much more efficient than the C shaped hook on smaller models. Some people have mentioned a clicking when doing heavy dough. Yes, it does. It isn’t loud but it us there. I spoke to Kitchenaid about it and they said it is completely normal. The motor is so powerful, the gears make noise but there is ample grease to protect them. Under normal use, whipping egg whites for example, it is very quiet. The candy apple red color demands a prominent place in the kitchen. The only drawback is if you do a small batch of anything, it looks lost, but it will do it. Also, Kitchenaid does not make a cover for this mixer and to date, I have not found one that fits properly. They are way too big or too small. Off to the fabric store! If you do a lot of bakin*, especially in quantity, this is the mixer for you.

Bought this after America’s Test Kitchen review YouTube. I had issues with my 4qt bumping up and down with double batches. Clearance was right, just a cheap build. Finished my first double bread recipe, and this was a dream. I could see the flour incorporating the liquids smoothly, no bumping, and I didn’t have dough climbing into uncleanable parts. Ground whole wheat with the attachment I had for the 4qt, no issues with compatibility. Very happy.

Probably damaged in shipping, Amazon should not have repacked something that heavy to ship on it’s side. It defeats the carefully engineered styrofoam interior. KitchenAid Is sending out a new replacement. The beater to bowl clearance was off, and the adjustment screw wouldn’t turn far enough to compensate. That said, it is the quietest KitchenAid we’ve owned. Love the bowl size and handle. Purchased the beater with the silicon scraper blade, and so far think the third party blade from Metro works better. (But they don’t make a blade for this model yet.) Looking forward to being able to mix larger qualities, and heavier dough.

After years of making bread weekly with my Professional 600, it got tired and started having problems with the gears. I was able to repair it, but not for long. The requirement for a replacement was it needed to be stronger and sturdier. Now that I've had this for several weeks and bread baking, I'm sorry my old mixer lasted so long. First is that the unit kneads through 3 loafs of bread like soft butter. The old mixer worked harder and as a result would walk across the counter - once landing on the floor. Second, it's sooo much quieter that the 600. I've had friends comment about the noise of the 600 but never gave it much thought. Since the new unit is so much quieter, it's temping to think the speed needs to be increased. As an added bonus, my old bowls (6qt) fit the new mixer, which means the extra lids work - yea. Part of my research was to read the review done by cooks illustrated. As usual their recommendation was spot on. I believe that I will have this unit for many years longer than the 9 years of the last unit. A quick word on the attachments - the elliptical beaters work better - but are harder to clean. The coating on the doe hook and mixer are easier to clean.

Wife destroyed her 2007 Artisan. She wanted a mixer that would handle large cookie dough loads. Was torn between getting another Kitchenaid and a commercial one form a local restraunt supply house. Was happy to report this thing handles as much cookie dough as she can throw at it. Saved money over the commercial one and this one matches our pro line kitchenaid appliances.

I purchased this mixer because my old KitchenAid Pro 6 couldn't handle the load of kneading high gluten dough for 5 minutes. I live in Kansas and we have access to the best wheat in the world. I love to bake bread and the old KitchenAid Pro 6 simply did not have the horsepower. It was loud, got hot and could not be run for more than 5 minutes without burning smells. It is great for making cookies, but a good winter wheat loaf is too much. Finally, the old mixer stopped, smoke came out and I confirmed the motor was done at a local repair shop. I did not want to repair the old mixer and just get back into the same problem as before, so I bought this one. Let me say first that the power difference between the Pro 6 and this mixer is night and day. I can use the dough hook for as long as I must. The unit does not groan, get hot or smell like wires melting.. This thing just does its work. Secondly, it is QUIET! Compared to the old Pro 6 this thing whispers. The bowl is slightly bigger but bowl size was never a thing for me. It was the need for the machine to work and not just sit and look pretty. It still fits on my counter under my cabinets with no issue. If you want a machine to mix up cookie dough and just look pretty.. get a Pro 6 or smaller. If you actually want some power and a quality machine, get this one!

Wow what a machine. It did worry me when I tried bagels, dont think I'll try that again. Dough too heavy even for this monster. So far double batch cookies, bread, butter with no problem. If you do a lot of baking this is the right choice. The price difference between this one and the lesser model is a not an issue for what you get. SAve up and go for the 7 quart you will be glad you did.

After copious research, I bit the bullet and spent the extra bucks for the 7qt. Pro Line because of all the issues I read about regarding the Professional 600 Series. Since I was looking to make a lot of bread, I didn't skimp on the mixer. I read the complaints about the clicking sound and, I'm afraid, they downplayed the issue. This thing sounds like a blender full of marbles when using the dough hook with anything other than water. Some claimed KitchenAid called this "normal". I assure you, this is not normal. These clickety clackety bang bang dinkety bam tickticktick noises are quite loud and annoying and you can feel the clanging on the motor housing. Since it's within 30 days, I'm returning it to Amazon for replacement. This review will be updated pending replacement. On the upside-It's quite easy on the eye. It's seems like it would be nice and quiet if not for the aforementioned noises. However for the money spent, the little men inside grinding diamonds and hammering tin is a bit much to bear. Until next time... UPDATE: OK, so... I returned the problematic mixer to Amazon who, promptly, sent out a replacement unit (quicker than I'd have thought, thanks). Needing more bread, I unpacked and got to it. I put ingredients for a single loaf of whole wheat bread into the mixer and powered up. Zowie!!! Once the ingredients were mixed and actual kneading began the noise was stunning! A family member ran from the other end of the house in fear that I'd been hurt or had finally lost it and took a hammer to the mixer. This was much louder than the last one and "crunchier". I really wanted bread so I let it carry on like that for several minutes while screaming over the cacophony that I was fine. Unwilling to relinquish it immediately (I needed more bread), I washed it up and tried again. This time I made 2 large loaves of Italian bread. Guess what... it was as quiet as a kitten. Just a very slight, rhythmic tick under a heavy load. Since then, I've made lots of bread, buns, etc. and haven't gotten any more than the faint rhythmic tick. I'm upping my review by 1 tentative star, though I'm not entirely sure why just yet. Since there's a 5 year warranty, I'm just going to keep this one... for now. It's behaved quite well barring the initial house-rattling performance. Perhaps it'll earn it's stars. Time will tell. I will update this review again if any more drama unfolds.

We own an older 4.5 quart Hobart made Kitchenaid tilt head mixer. It's still running strong after 30 years! I wanted a more powerful stand mixer to knead double batches of bread. WOW!!! Made the right choice here. This mixer is very quiet and has plenty of power. I considered buying the commercial version but after talking to Kitchenaid customer support, they informed me that this unit has the same motor and drive system as the 8 qt commercial model. The difference in the two is mainly the wiring and stainless dough hook and paddle to meet NSF requirements. I confirmed the information by looking up the part number for the drive system including the motor for both mixers and they are indeed the same. The warranty on the commercial version is two years but this model has a five year warranty. So even though I found the Commercial version for the same price, I chose the Pro-Line model. Its 7 qt capacity is more than enough for my needs. The Pro-Line 7 qt model also included the splash shield in the box. I wasn't expecting that! No splash shield available for the 8 qt model. (Not that you need it) Now the test! I have made both large and small batches of bread using this mixer. Plenty of power, and the spiral dough hook really works well. Although the motor stays cool, heat is generated at the mixers planetary head. During a 25 minute knead of 3 pounds of sour dough, I would occasionally place my hand on top of the mixer to check for heat build up. While the motor area stayed cool, the mixing head got very warm. The heat transfers down the spiral hook and actually began to warm my dough. Not a problem for my bread. Now the cake mix test... Mixed one box of cake mix using the paddle attachment. I noticed right away that the clearance between the paddle and the inside of the bowl was more than our tilt head version, but it wasn't a problem. The mixer performed as good as the other with only the one usual scrape down. Very happy with our purchase

Every Kitchen needs this! My wife and I love it. This is the largest size they make, it fits under our top cabinets on the countertop but I would recommend measuring before you buy! This thing is a monster!!!

So far I love it. I love how quiet it is compared to my 600 which may have been a lemon. Handles large batches of cookies really well.

Works great, is mostly quiet (has a little click when mixing, but I guess it's okay). It's very pretty, I got the Candy-Red. I would like to keep it out on the counter because it's so pretty, but don't have the room, so it has to go into my mixer garage! I do hope that they"ll come out with a scraper w/rubber beater for this machine. I had one for my 5qt and loved it, it worked really great. Since the bowl is so large I find it hard when I use smaller amounts. The beater doesn't get to the bottom & sides of the bowl and this would work so much better for either large or small amounts. I'm so glad I can also use all my attachments, like the grinder, etc, as they work with this machine. I'd purchased a lot of them with my 5 qt mixer. But had to give away my scraper beater and ice cream bowl because they were to small. My 5 Qt. quit, I guess because they used plastic gears. I was very disappointed. I like also I can make a lot more bread at one time then I could with the smaller mixer. But do as they say about keeping the speed at 2, it's plenty fast anyway.

these mixers are great I wore out two of them in 12 years and can easily get replacement parts from manufacturer even on discontinued colors.

Well, as you can see from my other posts about the KitchenAid Pro Line Toaster and Electric Kettle, they are candy apple red. Her other mixer was a duller red and had to be replaced to match the new ones. Ha ha ha. Actually, we have a big family and usually feed 12-20 adults on holidays. This makes it easier to make LOTS of mashed potatoes. Also ordered the 8 qt bowl. That took a while to get here, but is a nice option as she now has two mixers and three bowls ...

This mixer is wonderful. I got it just in time for Christmas cookies and there is one kind that is really hard to mix. This mixer did the job like there was nothing to it. I was amazed. So far nothing has been beyond the ability of this mixer. I just love it and highly recommend it.

TOBY BOUGHT THIS UNIT WITH A 1-1/3 HORSEPOWER A DC MOTOR FOR A MULTIPURPOSE TASK MIXER, GRINDER, ETC. ORIGINALLY, TOBY BOUGHT A UNIT AT COSTCO MUCH CHEAPER WITH A 1 HORSEPOWER DC MOTOR WITH A SMALLER MIXING BOWL. Have never owned a mixer with this much power. It handles three large loafs of of dough without heating the motor. Quiet, strong. I use speed one for kneading dough, takes a little longer but seems to do a better job than speed two. I recommend it to anyone who believes you pay for what you get. Is well worth the cost.

Impressive quality! My Pro 600 is a good mixer, but the difference is like driving a '63 Rambler and switching to a '14 Lexus. "Fit & Feel" are amazing to the eyes, the touch, and production. Quiet? My 600 was hard to talk over, the Proline 7 is hard to hear. Happy with this one!

We have had several different mixers over the last 48 years, but never one that does the job as well as this one. I bought the larger one with the thought that it is possible to have one that is too small requiring mixing several batches. This size makes that unnecessary for anything that we mix. Oh, yes, it is made in America also.

Aside from not having the tilt feature (unit is too tall/heavy) I cannot find anything wrong with this mixer. I primarily use it for cakes, breads etc. and have not used any accessory attachments yet. When I first opened the unit I looked over the cherry finish to make sure they weren't any nicks or peeling. Along the base where the mixing attachment is placed there was peeling on the finish as well as shavings that I was able to remove by hand before using the unit. Performance Is consistent and I confidently use this unit with light and dense mixtures. Ive been able to make large bread/cookie recipes back to back with no mess. Though its dishwasher safe I clean by hand and keep mixing. I've used a scraper during some mixtures; depending on the recipe you may need too. If price isn't a factor go for this unit as it can accommodate any recipe you need effortlessly compared to the other KitchenAid offerings. I purchased this during the KitchenAid promotion where they gave you a free ice cream mixing bowl with every 7qt. mixer purchase. I submitted the paperwork as well as the Amazon receipt but never received the ice cream mixing bowl.

My wife likes to bake breads but was having severe pain from kneading the dough by hand. We had an older kitchen aid that was inherited but broke, and decided to get a new one. There are a few Kitchen Aid mixers available, and after reading tons of reviews, the most commonly purchased Kitchenaid mixer, the KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, seemed to have about a 3% failure rate. and part of the problem seemed due to the tilt mechanism that this mixer is so well known for, and part of it seems to be some change in the build quality from the decade or so older version vs. the current version being sold. Going up the ladder, to the KP26M1PSL Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer, the reviews were mostly good, but a few bad reviews seemed to have consistent issues. Going up one more rung on the product ladder was this unit, the KSM7586P, a 7 quart unit. Apart from one bad review that mentioned the lack of tilt, all the reviews I could find showed no issues with build quality or lemons. The lack of tilting is what I think contributes to the decrease in failures as I think that mechanism allows for more weak points. and that lack of tilt has one other small advantage: You can stick it on a counter underneath cupboards and never need to need move it to tilt it. The large metal bowl goes in a u-shaped cradle that moves up and down for easier removal of the bowl. The actual mixer attachments (kneader, egg whisk, etc.) needs to be attached or removed prior to removing the bowl or beginning mixing. This is a touch awkward, but a small inconvenience. And the cradle itself has two very sturdy conical placeholders and a pressure spring on the back that is solidly built. This prevents movement once the bowl is firmly attached in place. It is large, but should fit on most kitchen counters under the cupboards without an issue. The 7 quart bowl is huge for home use, probably a requirement for professional use. While this device is more than a home user would really ever need, the durability, longevity, and just overall commercial build quality tells me that this, like our old 20+ year old ktichenaid, is built to last. If baking bread is your thing, get one of these, you won't regret it.
