Here is my take on this cheap coffee grinder made by KRUPS. Model F203 Here are my PROS: 1.)CHEAP! One of the cheapest you will find on the market. 2.)Very easy to use. 3.)Nice safety feature CONS: 1.) You have to measure prior to putting the beans in or on the way out. 2.) Getting under the blade is not easy. This can make cleaning and scooping a tad difficult Directly from KRUPS: CONVENIENT GRINDING: Transforms whole coffee beans into freshly ground coffee in less than 10 seconds; perfectly grinds nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices PROMOTES FULL FLAVOR: Grind beans right before brewing for enticingly rich aroma and full bodied flavor — a great alternative to pre ground coffee LARGE CAPACITY: Grinds up to 3 oz. / 85g of coffee beans at a time, which can yield up to 12 cups of coffee SHARP BLADES: Powerful stainless steel blades uniformly grind to release pure flavors SAFE OPERATION: Lid activated safety switch for ease of use and safe operation — blades do not spin unless the lid is securely in place KRUPS F203 Electric Spice and Coffee Grinder with Stainless Steel Blades, 3 oz / 85 g’, Black

A brief video review of the Krups F203 coffee grinder. This is a great entry level cheap coffee grinder from Krups and it’s perfect for everyday use. Obviously being a blade grinder it’s not going to give a universal grind on par with a Burr type of coffee grinder which tend to demand a higher price, but that being said its not bad! You can find this grinder at Amazon here http://amzn.to/1Xqxk2w (affiliate link) Krups F203 coffee grinder is a popular choice with many coffee drinkers around the globe and it’s one of Amazon best-seller in the coffee grinder category. There is nothing like a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Every professional barista will tell you that preparing a cup of coffee or espresso is a real art and a precise science. It can take years to perfect every step of the process. And this process begins with freshly ground beans. In fact, coffee beans loses 40% of their aroma in the minutes following the grinding process. In other words, the best cup of coffee or espresso anyone can get comes from freshly ground beans. Because KRUPS mission is to provide the perfect in-cup result, we have developed the KRUPS 203 grinder to enable each and every coffee lover to get the same professional results from a coffee shop. .. at home.

Just got the grinder today and registered it with the manufacturer. As a first test, I ground some toasted sticky rice or glutenous rice (khao niew). After disinfecting the inside of the grinder, I put 2 ounces of the toasted sticky rice in the grinder and put the lid on. In under 15 seconds of pulsing the grinder, I had a very good medium fine grind of the now khao khua. Rice is pretty hard anyway and when it is toasted much of the water content evaporates leaving a very hard kernel. Traditionally, a pestle and mortar are used. With a little care and patience, the Krups grinder will not over heat the spices you grind if you take your time between pulses to keep the temperature down. I'll grind other whole spices as I need them and they will be much fresher than the pre-ground spices we buy. I was able to clean up the bladed part of the grinder using a dry paper towel and tapping the powder out, while rinsing the lid. All in all it worked fine.

KRUPS F203 Electric Spice and Coffee Grinder with Stainless Steel Blades, 3-Ounce is NOT a burr type grinder!! I did not seek a burr grinder so this model fits my needs.

(1) It's rated at "3 ounce" which is not explained anywhere. Some mention should be made: to weigh 3 ounces of unground beans means having a suitable kitchen scale.

(2) The manufacturer tries to imbue this grinder with the mystique of accuracy and finesse. That's on them: this product is not "accurate" in the sense suggested by the manufacturer. IT JUST GRINDS AND DOES IT IN A FEW SECONDS. (how many seconds? they leave it to you to experiment!) And: the amount of ground coffee to water ratio is ridiculously small for the average coffee drinker. "7 grams of ground coffee per 5 oz. cup" is only 5/8 of AN ACTUAL 8-ounce cup.(and who in the United States bothers to use grams when our entire history is based on English Measures?)

(3) The one accurate thing in the packaged instructions: DISCONNECT the machine when not actually grinding! (it's easy to depress the activation button while handling the machine).

(4) Not "easy to clean." I use a brush about the size of a tooth brush then wipe clean with a damp sponge.

Anyone wanting more or better will have to pay more to get the coffee/spice grinder which meets their needs.

It's probably best to have one for coffee and one for Spices. B/c you don't want your coffee to taste like your spices. It's a little cumbersome to clean thoroughly. Even if you do, it still smells a bit like stale coffee (or spices). But for the price, it does the job extremely well. I've found that for coffee you can get coarse-ground with a 5-second solid push of the on button. Medium ground (my preference) for a 12 second press. And very find powder for a 20 second press. Pro-tip: Gently/slowly Shake the grinder while it's grinding to help make a more consistent grind, otherwise you end up with a mix of fine and coarsely ground particles.

An absolute must for anyone that enjoys freshly ground "whole-bean" coffee made in a French Press! (compare to any chain coffee shop, you will never go back!)

I like this coffee grinder above other styles I've used.

The grinder works very well and has consistently for a few years now.

This is my second one of this exact same style. I have a Jura Super Automatic coffee machine that grinds my beans internally so I gave my other one to a friend and just bought this exact same thing for replacement when I started back with my French Press for variety.

I like that it holds a proper amount of beans for my French Press or my Stovetop Espresso Maker.. on the Espresso pot I can grind beans 1 time and get 3 pots out of it.

I also like that the top is large and after grinding you can flip it upside down and the ground coffee is now in the top as a 'cup' which is easier to pour into the coffee pot without making a mess.

It grinds well at various levels of coarseness, it is easily cleanable, the price is GREAT on here, and it has worked reliably for years.

I suppose the 'burr style' grinder is better for coffee flavor but I have never been able to tell any difference between the two.

A perfect fit for me! Just the right size to fit into my coffee station area, I love the short cord which is very easy to hide behind the product itself. The grinding process is quiet, quick, under 10 seconds for my preference. Very easy on and off top, which is a nice snug fit for no grounds leaking out. The price was also a perfect fit, very reasonable for this quality grinder

We use induction cooker often. We put it outsite at the lanai so the cooking smell doesn't stay inside house. My previous unit went out of work due to bad cooling fan. So I need a new cooker. The product arrived ealier than it was scheduled. It helps a lot since we needed the new unit urgently. The unit gives E7 error a few times. It probablly is operator's error. My wife put a stainless steel plat ontop of the cooker so that we can use non-ferro pot to cook. Right after finished cooking, she took away the pot and left the plat on top of the cooker. The remaining heat on the plat transfers to the cooker. I believe its the reason caused the E7 error. My conclusion is that this unit has a sensitive overheat protection which I believe it protects the cooker from overheating better. This product doesn't have preset timer on Soup and Milk as instruction says. It doesn't bother us. The other four power preset has timer. It's OK with us. We don't need timer on Soup and Milk. The pot comes with a stainless steel pot. The pot is usefull. It's thinkness is sufficient. I have no problem to boil soup with this pot. I believe this cooker will last longer than my previous one since it has a good overhea protection.

He works so hard for such a little guy. I use my Krups grinder for grinding spices and coffee (I go through with a chopstick to loosen up the stragglers hanging on to the edge of the walls and also grind a piece of bread that cleans up the smells and excess grindings handing about.)

That being said I find it great for people like me who just do single cups of coffee in a Kurig. It does blend a bit on the fine side, so sometimes you need to like the custom cups with a little paper to prevent sludge from happening.

It's a great blender for the price and it's size, definitely!
