I have always preferred the Mr. Coffee product. I have had the same coffee machine for many many years. They keep on ticking! Bought this one for my camper.

Easy to stow in a kitchen cabinet, freeing up counter space. Makes hot coffee in the recommended time frame. Add good strong coffee and you are in business.

My two other Mr. Coffee 4-cup brewers will actually make 5 cups. Not this one. 4 cups is the max. I always make 5 cups. Can't do that on this one. Had to adjust the amount of coffee I was using. I can't believe I threw a 5-cupper away just because it was getting hard to clean.

Smaller than expected, does not make a lot of coffee. The measurement says up to 4 cups, but 3 cups is more like one cup of coffee. I make two batches of "3 cups" to be able to have two cups of coffee in the morning.

This model has more moving parts and therefore more to possibly go wrong than my previous Mr. Coffee maker from 10 years ago. That old model was very simple, and still worked, but the hard water here had clogged the metal tubing inside that heats up. Frankly, I don't know why companies abandon a simple reliable design for one that is more complicated and likely to fail. Well, I guess I do.

This little coffee maker serves my needs perfectly! When I visit my children, everyone wants regular coffee and I only want decaf. So now I bring my little Mr. Coffee along and it brews 2 large mugs of decaf just for me. And did I mention how cute the little carafe is? The only thing that would improve this is to have an auto-off feature. I don't need a clock or programming, but the auto-off feature would be great for safety and convenience.

But it's cheap enough to keep buying. Except you really can't recycle them. I finally just glued some paperclips along the top of the unit so I could keep using it. Seems like all of the 1-4 /5 cup coffee makers have the same issue, a few months in & the top of the machine starts to crack. It doesn't matter how often or little that you use it. I usually make about "4-6" cups each day. I'll make two cups first thing, turn it off, come back later, make another. Same thing happens about 3-4 months into it. The top lids cracks. I only have a small spot to use the coffee maker, next to the tea maker, & don't want a huge one just to make a couple cups. Too bad too, used to be a great name.
