I'll test this by crushing ice and comparing it to a standard Oster blender. I'll also blend chunks of vegetables and make a smoothie in the single serve. First, let me give you the basics about the Ninja. It has 1100 watts of power and weighs about 10 pounds. It's about17 inches tall. Now the height might be an issue for some kitchens with lower cabinets, this might not fit under the cabinets for storage. The pitcher holds 72 ounces and is made of polycarbonate plastic, so it's not heavy. The single serve is also plastic and bpa free. You can make a smoothie and drink it out of the same container. It has three speeds and six stacked blades on the spindle. Just look at the blades, they look seriously sharp. The parts are dishwasher safe. The blades are really sharp so be careful when turning the pitcher over because it slides out easily. Suction cups on the bottom so it doesn't move around. The Ninja won't blend until the lid is locked in position. I don't think it's fair to compare the Ninja to an expensive Vitamix or Blendtec. The Ninja is about $140 and is a good value.
I really like the to-go 16 oz. cups that come with this model, but I don’t like how hard this big blender is to move once it gets stuck to the counter. This blender would be great for blending baby foods and smoothies for your little ones!

This blender really can make anything you want. It crushes, blends, purees, and does so in a controlled way. Many people use it to turn fruits and vegetables into thick juices that contain all of the nutrients. You can make cocktails, dips, sauces, smoothies, soups, juices and even homemade facemasks.

I purchased this without my husband knowing because I know he'd be absolutely livid with the price. But it was a bit difficult to hide on the kitchen counter top, so I went with the next best alternative - I made him a smoothie and didn't tell him the price.
He was in love. (With the Vitamix blender of course!) Soon after, I was making hot soups (yum!) and eating healthier. My kids sometimes want an 'unhealthy' smoothie which is mostly fruits - still better for you than a package of Oreos! I didn't know it was possible, but my husband now uses the blender more than me. The quality is superier: the container is a thick plastic and won't break, and it blends frozen fruit chunks with ease. The consistency is perfect, as there are no tiny chunks of foods such as spinach or seeds. And... I don't know what I would do without the cleaning cycle.
I eventually told him the price. He wasn't phased since he was already in love (with the Vitamix blender of course!).
It's well worth the investment. Would I buy it again? YES! In fact, I did buy it again to give as a gift.

Ninja Professional 660 is an excellent choice for those who are not looking for a durable gadget and consider it is a temporary option. It gives you the opportunity to try it and to decide if you really need a powerful blender on kitchen countertop. It is a good machine with a nice a concept of two blenders in one, and it also gives you a chance to test a trendy personal gadget. But if you are looking for a blender that lasts for years, then you will have to consider other alternatives.

We replaced an expensive blender ($400) that died after 5 or 6 years (old blender died with metal shot flying out everywhere) with this blender. We researched many more expensive ones and then decided to try this one verses buying another $400 or $500 blender. It is very powerful and straight forward to use. It is powerful and easy to clean too. We really like the cups that come with it for a quick personal smoothie! The design for pouring is very nice also! We have had no issues chopping up ice, ice cream, sherbet, yogurt and fruit (apples that were sliced, bananas, avocados, pears that were sliced, strawberries, raspberries, blue berries, celery, peanut butter, peanuts and a lot more. It has been two months using it and we really are glad we purchased this blender as it does everything we need - smoothies, shakes, deserts, puddings and energy drinks!
