A popcorn maker and bowl in one great unit! Simply add your oil and kernels to the cooking plate, then watch the popcorn quickly fill the 6 quart bowl. For extra-buttery popcorn, place butter in the butter melter on top of the bowl. The motorized stirring rod evenly distributes the kernels and reverses for better popping performance, while the quick-heat halogen technology requires no preheating and allows popcorn to pop in just 3 short minutes. When done popping, flip over the non-stick cooking plate and bowl for easy serving.

Just started using it. Works well if you follow directions. Important to not leave on once the kernels have all popped or they will start to char a bit. Taste and results are great and only takes 5 minutes for 3 cups.

We have had Stir-Crazy poppers before and this one is much better. It's 750 watts while the others are 900-1000 watts so it takes a small bit longer for the corn to start popping, but not a problem at all. The big plus is the ease of cleaning since the cooking bowl separates from the heating unit. On the others, the outer rim of the cooking bowl is not sealed, so any excess oil runs down into the heating element area which is impossible to clean. Great design!

Love it! The instructions say to add oil but I added butter and popcorn cooked just find. It’s easy to clean to and I love the fact I can use the dome as a bowl to eat my popcorn.

This is a well designed product. It works very well, pops every kernel, and is relatively easy to clean. The cooking surface has little residue from cooking oil, and the bowl wipes out easily. Tipping the unit upside down with the handles to fill the bowl works very well, and the additional lid makes adding salt or seasoning very easy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This seems like a dangerous product and not safe for use with small children. The lid does not lock to the heating plate and the directions require you to flip both heating base and lid once popping is done with oven mitts on. I will be returning item

The Nostalgia SP660SS 6-Quart Stainless Steel Stir popcorn maker is the best one I have ever had. I have used air poppers in the past but it's hard to get the oil or butter distributed and you end up with a lot of unpopped corn kernels. Microwave poppers aren't any better. This stir-type popper slowly mixes the popped corn and distributes the oil (I use coconut oil). The result is very few unpopped kernels. Once the popping slows down you put the black lid on, flip the popper over, add salt, put cover on, and shake up the whole unit to mix everything up. The bowl can be used for serving. Also, the directions say you can make three 2-oz. cups of corn at once but three will not fit in the bowl. I found that using Orville Redenbacher's Original Popping Corn the maximum is two. You will want to experiment with this.

I use this to pop popcorn and your review is so quick that I really don't have a realistic review to give you. The first and only batch seemed to work as described.
