Review of the Nutri Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ

I've tested several juicers over the years, most of them were huge and hard to cleanup afterwards - the result: they ended up stored and soon forgotten. That's not the case with the Nutri Ninja Blender. Why? Because it's relatively small (about the size of a regular blender), is very easy to use -- and everything rinses off for an easy cleanup (also dishwasher safe). I especially love the included the dishwasher-safe plastic cups (small, medium and large) that use a small blade that fits onto the blender. This is ideal for individual portions and it does a fantastic job of turning any kind of fruit into a great-tasting smoothy (just add a bit of ice). The digital timer will do all the work. Once it's complete you can drink right from the cup or enjoy it later by using one of the three included sip-n-seal lids.

Have had this blender for a few years, still running strong. Daily shakes, sometimes with seeds sometimes just ice- but always smooth and well blended. Whether I'm pureeing for guac, pulsing for breadcrumbs, whipping up a salad dressing, or drinks with the girls-always gets the job done. The dough blade makes bread making a breeze. Simply love the versatility and durability of this blender. The shake cups are a little dull and showing knicks and marring, but after a few years of almost daily use- I'd say they've held up extremely well.

They have strong sharp blades and a powerful motor to completely break down the vegetables, fruits and even seeds for maximum nutrient value, There are a number of options in this range, some of which have a one-touch feature known as "Auto-IQ" that lets you make quick smoothies with very little effort.

Nutri Ninja has made a splash in the blender industry ever since it came out a few years ago. Its blenders have features that rival those found in top-end models, yet their prices are comparatively cheap.

Like most Nutri Ninja machines, this model includes auto-IQ technology, offering a one-touch, automated system. This system works according to the container you have chosen to use. The program also ensures continuous blending by activating pulses in a specific pattern, pausing when necessary to offer the best results.

I have been in the market for a blender for quite some time since my original Ninja broke. I had that one for about 10 years before I blew out the motor making almond butter. It owed me nothing after 10 years. One would think that it was a no-brainer to purchase another Ninja since the last one served me so well. That was not the case. In fact, I didn’t even want a Ninja, I had decided that I would invest in a Vitamix or Blendtec instead, however, fate stepped in and denied my request.

On Christmas Eve, I borrowed a friend’s Ninja to help with some of my holiday cooking. I accidentally dropped the pitcher and the rim cracked. I ended up buying the entire system instead of replacing the pitcher because I wasn’t sure about the different models. It turned out that this pitcher was exactly like the damaged one so I replaced her pitcher with the new one and kept the cracked pitcher and everything else in the box. This is how I ended up with another Ninja.

As for performance, I had no doubt that the Ninja Professional would perform well and it does everything I need it to do other than mill fine flour, which is why I wanted a Vitamix or Blendtec. Now, I do want to say that the Ninja can mill flour if you don’t mind having a coarse flour.

This Ninja has way more features than my previous model and since we make our own baby food, I really like that I can press one button to purée and know that the texture will be perfect. Although we also own a baby bullet, we have started using the Ninja instead because it is faster. I haven’t made smoothies with this machine yet but I’m confident that there will be no problems. Overall, I definitely cannot complain about the performance and it is a great machine for the price

So far so good. A friend of mine introduced me to the Ninja blender. I was impressed at the perfectly, finely crushed ice it made in SECONDS. So cool! I wanted one too. However, there are so many models of Ninja blenders on the market; it's hard to find exactly what you think you want and think you need. I thought I bought one exactly like my friend's, but discovered the blender containers were too small. Mine came with two 16 oz containers, which was really difficult to use for making finely crushed ice. I used it twice, but decided to return it, and I bought this blender from Amazon. I loved, loved, loved it. Love at first blend. It came with two blender containers: 24 oz and 32 oz blender, just like my friend's. I now make fruit smoothies anytime of the day or night. On a hot day, it's so refreshing to have a delicious cold smoothie. At night, when I want something light before going to bed, I make a small fruit smoothie for a healthy nightcap. It just hits the spot. Zzzzzz!

I have been loving this! I have used it almost daily since getting it, works great for my almost daily smoothie and everything else I've used it for so far. The noise complaint of other reviewers, I don't get. It's barely louder if at all louder than every other blender I've ever used. The blades are sharp and can be scary to clean, yes. If you let the stuff sit on there and dry on there. Just rinse right after you use and you won't have this issue. Better to have sharp blades that work than dull blades that are "easy to clean" and don't do the job. I love this blender and the capability of large batches of things or single batches. I definitely use the single serve the most and it is great! Love just taking it off the blender base and sticking the lid on and drinking straight out of it. So much nicer and cleaner than transferring to another drinking container. Some functions won't work with the single serve containers, like the "smoothie" button, which is a little misleading considering the most typical use for the small containers are probably "smoothies", but I'm not knocking a star off because it doesn't affect how well it actually works. I just use the medium button and it blends my smoothie very smoothly. I use a combo of frozen fruit and fresh fruit for my smoothies, no ice. So if you're wanting a smoothie with ice, I would bet the large container will work better for that that gives you the "smoothie" option. But really, this blender is great and I would recommend it to anyone!

Bought this blender Black Friday and didn't open it until after Christmas. Been using it twice daily for smoothies since end of February, it worked extremely well, high power motor quick and efficient. Base started smoking and oil leaking from base. Using only 4 ice cubes w/ water and whey should not have caused this but called company directly and they'll be shipping out a replacement promptly at no cost! Very happy with company support, I'll have to see how long it lasts for.

However, I was so unhappy with the suction cup feet on my granite countertop. I called the manufacturer & they said there were no options. I found it odd since I know other models of this brand do not have these suction cup feet. I was able to pull the suction cups out (and still have them to be put back in If ever needed), but it left 4 unappealing holes on the bottom and perhaps the blender would move on the counter without feet. I then purchased black 1.25 inch diameter round non-slip pads that are something like rubber and they work perfect! So I solved my own issue.

I would like to see lids for the Shake cup blenders. They could solve this easily to let us buy them separately.

This is an addendum. There were supposed to be 3 lids for the cups & they were not in my box! I am contacting the manufacturer to see if they will send them to me. Amazon wants to send me an entire replacement.

An addendum: Manufacturer is sending me the 3 lids free of charge.

Wow. We've had our ninja for about a month now, and I can definitely say I'm impressed. The only parts we've not used are the little cups and the dough blade.

The only reason I can't give it 5 full stars is bc I know now that it's not the best out there. After buying this one, I found the newer one with the smart functions for smoothies and all. That's my only regret.

This machine itself though, for what it is, and what it's supposed to do, it excellent. The thing has more wattage than my professional Italian hairdryer (that's a lot). It Juuust fits underneath my cabinet so the size is perfect. I love all the little clever bits, like the bottom handles that release the suction cups, and the lock that holds open the pour spout lid. Attention to details like these are what make for excellent products.

I use it so often that I nearly always just hand wash it right away. I've found a water bottle brush to be perfect for getting down walls quickly and maneuvering safely around cleaning the blade. The only thing I've encountered any difficulty cleaning so far is after I made nut butter, getting inside the blade.

Speaking of, the food processor portion has proven invaluable. It is the perfect size for the majority of those types of jobs I need done and unlike my large dedicated food processor, there's no hole in the middle! Hallelujah!

So recommendation? If you absolutely cannot get the newer one, or you loathe smoothies... then yes, absolutely. In and of itself it's great.

Would I buy this one again? No- knowing what I know now, I'd spend the $50 more for the new one (at least that was the price difference when I was shopping). I make too many smoothies not have as many advantages working in my favor as possible.

I'd like to say something in regards to the melted/fire/etc. reviews & pics. This is a reflection of my own experience and not meant to demean or diminish anyone else's situation in any way.

1) the Ninja is Covered in neon safety warnings as you unbox it detailing exactly how to use it. 2) it has built in emergency shut off procedures and when that happens there are things you're supposed to do as well. 3) never walk away from a kitchen appliance while it's running (or the stove top) no matter how secure you may think it is. 4) be mindful of the environment you're working in- there's a reason we've been putting stone in kitchens for centuries.

This being said: I have not had any issues remotely resembling overheating at all. I operate my machine in a well ventilated area on my granite countertop. While the machine runs, I do a fair amount of pulsing, I don't just put it on high & leave it going for 10 min, while it runs I'm touching the machine (as I would my stand mixer). I feel where the motor is in the base, and monitor the heat output. I'm turning it off frequently to scrape down anyway, but I'm aware of how hot it is and maintain control of the situation.

That's just what I do. If it's beneficial for anyone else, then great.

Love this machine and love making healthy organic smoothies and my own humus, etc. in it. I like the BPA free plastic. Only thing is cleaning the screw lines in the tops. But otherwise it cleans up nicely. Be sure your upside down cups are very scurely closed and not overloaded, or you'll make a hard to clean up mess in the turning mechanism. But, it a great machine. I love it.

I like this machine very much. I do not like the service department, I tried different ways to try to find out how to purchase the food processor attachment for the machine. I know it's sold on the site. but it says you need the processor kit to go with the food processor attachment Very confusing. They hung up on me after being on hold forever. Never responded to emails I sent. Better to buy the food processor and blender together.. So machine great, rest not so much. Pat

This blender is awesome. I've been really picky in finding a good blender for smoothies and this one has been everything I've needed and more. Only negative thing I could say about it is it's extremely loud, but I don't mind because it works really well!

I absolutely love my new blender. I use it everyday as an effort to eat more veggies. It blends everything to a nice and smooth consistency. It's super easy to use and clean, and there is not any wasted produce like there would be when using a juicer ( I would know, because I gave my juicer away because of the waste and the mess it made). Best blender I ever purchased!

I bought this to do a 10 day detox diet and I LOVE it! I have been using a Magic Bullet for years and liked it just fine, but needed something more powerful for smoothies, dips, etc. I especially like that I can use one of the cups to make a single smoothie and I have a regular blender too. And this blender is so powerful, it can handle everything I've thrown at it. I'd been eyeing a Vitamix but was put off by the price. This blender is wonderful and at a better price point for me.

No more do I need to worry and wonder if my green goodness smoothie has left traces of spinach between my teeth, no more do I worry that a stealthy clump of slimy chia seed is waiting to gag me up, no more do I have to blend seemingly forever to get that perfectly smooth smoothie- all thanks to my incredible new blender. It is worth every cent. I don't even mind the (admittedly) loud noise, my daughter (1yrs old) and I do a dance and sing "wooohooo" when the blender is on- yet another way it adds health and joy to my day. :-)

My family wanted a Vitamix instead of this unit but settled on this for the price. I have to say, I am glad I didn't have the money for the Vitamix because this system works flawlessly. The multi-blade for the mixer is amazing (you do not have to use a pusher ever) and it is very powerful. Our main use of this blender is for smoothies and we can make Smoothie store quality drinks every time. I was also impressed with the bullets that come with the unit. They are great for a fast mixed drink or Smoothie single serve. I have not used the drinking caps so I cannot give feedback on how well they work.
