Taking it back don't waste your money its like a hair dryer at a motel with beaters. That being said it cannot produce enough heat to melt the butter.

I have always loved Oster hand mixers and depend on them for their quality and durability. This one is great as well however its lowest speed is way too fast, so fast that I haven't even had to go past the second level, or the Turbo setting. I'm sure I will love the power when it comes time to mix a really thick mixture. I think it's very loud as well, can't imagine how loud it will be when I go to the highest setting. I did try the heated setting and it worked great for mixing chilled butter.

The best mixer I've had so far. Love the heating feature and how it has a flat bottom so I can easily rest it between mixes.

I bought the $9.88 mixer thinking my granddaughter didn't need anything special for her cake mixes but it quit the first time she used it. She said the motor smelled and the mixer quit. So I chose Oster. Seemed a good choice. I haven't used it myself but she says she likes it. Since it has only been used a couple times I hesitate to over rate it.

I am so impressed with the Oster 5 speed hand mixer with HEATSOFT. I've never used a mixer like this before and I love it. I went ahead and tried a cookie recipe with it and I purposely added bold stick butter. I pressed the heat button and less than a minute the butter was softened while I was mixing it. It wasn't clumpy or soupy. my cookies finally came out perfect. now I use it for everything! I love that the heat plate comes off and it washable. It snaps right back on magnetically. It's also easier for my to handle and hold while mixing because I have arthritis. The design is perfect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This Oster beater is amazing! It makes baking easier and actually faster because of the awesome heat soft technology. I get 5 different speed settings and easy to remove beaters... just push the button! You're able to remove the heat soft technology also. The cord has this nifty tie thing so it's also easy to store the cord. Everything about this product is easy. Not to mention it looks super sleek in my hands [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love baking various yummy treats with my two daughters and my grandchildren! The Oster Hand Mixer with HEATSOFT Technology is now my new favorite mixer! I was so intrigued by the HEATSOFT technology feature as I am ALWAYS forgetting to take the butter and cream cheese out of the refrigerator to allow them to get to room temperature. Let me tell you, the HEATSOFT feature is absolutely AMAZING! With the push of button, it blows out heat and within minutes my butter and cream cheese were soft and we were ready to start baking! I was also impressed by the power and speed of this mixer! With my old mixer, it seemed that no matter what level I put the speed at, there didn't seem to be much of a difference power wise. When I put this mixer to the test, the difference was unbelievable! My daughters are now wanting one of these mixers for their own homes, so Christmas shopping has started early. I love my new Oster mixer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've had this hand-mixer for a little over a week and I've been on a baking frenzy. I homeschool and my kids love cookies, cakes, brownies, you name it but I always seem to forget to take my refrigerated ingredients (butter, cream cheese) out of the fridge. I tried the heatsoft option and was really surprised at how easily my butter and cream cheese fluffed up. I made coconut oil chocolate frosting and zapped the coconut oil with a little heatsoft action since it was hard and it really worked well. All the speed setting are nice and the top speed is powerful, there is even a turbo button for added power which I used when my batters and frosting clumped up in me. The fact that I can set the hand mixer right side up on the counter top is pretty nice, cleanup was easy, the hand mixer itself is not heavy, it has a nice weight to it but not too heavy to where if you're mixing for a while it would tire you out. The design is nice and simple and had a nice elegant look to it. If you love baking but forget to leave your butter out a lot like I do, you'll love this one! Amazingly simple yet fully 100 % functional for all my needs. All without breaking my back by trying to retrieve what feels like a 20lb machine. Don't get me wrong, I love my kitchen aid GIANT mixer but it is just that — giant ... a very very heavy one. One that takes too much room in a kitchen and has found its permanent home on a shelf in the garage. So when I have smaller projects that I'd love to use a mixer for, I don't even bother. I just skipped it altogether because of the inconvenience of using the kitchen aid. This mixer I really thought would be very flimsy and not at all capable to mixing like the kitchen aid does. But I am ecstatic to report that I was totally wrong in my impression! The unit is nice and compact with detachable metal whisks. They are incredibly easy to attach and with a press of the release button, very easy to remove to be cleaned and stored. The unit is perfectly ergonomic enough to be used with arthritic hands without causing more pain or aches. It's very light but also very powerful. While I have not used it on dough, nor do I recommend doing so, it's powerful enough to soften hard butter in just over 10 seconds. The mixer is very simplistic with only a few simple buttons. The on/off is extremely convenient to be pressed. The cord is long enough to be used quite a long distance from the power outlet. I plugged mine in on the side of island and used it on a perpendicular section and there was no pull. I am Horrible with measurements but it would be at least 2 feet. They also have adjustable speeds which are amazing for customizing your mixing experience. The button that had me super excited though was the fan! Yes! It has a fan and can be used to blow warmish air on the food you're trying to mix. It's small and compact enough to be stored anywhere really. I wish it did have a drawstring bag to be stored in but with all the amazing qualities I'm happy to find a storage bag myself. Now I no longer try to put off any recipes which involve mixed anything really. PS: your mixing bowl can be metal, glass or plastic and you will be just fine. I really love my new kitchen tool and even if you have a kitchen aid, I would strongly advise getting this for the sake of convenience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

It was time for an upgrade when my old beaters were begging to rust. Everything seemed right with the Oster so here we are. It is a great hand mixer. Anything special? Yes, it does take an extra step away. I used to boil water in a pot. Pour the boiling water into a glass measuring cup. Dump the water into the sink and turn the measuring cup upside down on the stick of butter. I no longer have to do that. The HEATSOFT technology is pretty cool. It can really handle butter right out of the refrigerator like its been sitting out for a while. The turbo is cool but only needed I feel because it only has 5 speeds. The turbo puts it on the same playing field as a mixer with a more speeds. The beaters seem solid. They go in easy and pop out easy enough with the eject button. Overall I am very happy and plan to be for many years with this little device. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
