I love making smoothies for me and the kids in the morning. I really like the smoothie setting on this blender; I just add my fruits (fresh and frozen) along with my protein powder and some coconut milk and hit the smoothie button. It has super powerful motor; it self pauses, changes speeds and gets the perfect consistency each time. When it seems to get bogged down, just add more water or juice. I like that it's really easy to add liquid without having to stop the blender or take the lid off. The pour spout is really great! I've had blenders in the past that end up dumping more down the side than into your glass, so a nice clean pour is important to me. I really LOVE that this is a two for one appliance! The food processor is so great! I love it for shredding cheese, making pesto, hummus or salsa! Con: 1) I wish the blender blade was easier to remove and clean without having to unscrew the bottom. 2) There's only one slicer blade as opposed to two (one one either side), so it gets lopsided and cuts unevenly. 3) It's very loud. This is not your typical blender. It feels very high end and does a great job on everything from smoothies to margaritas. This is a nice blender that I can leave on my countertop without taking away from my decor! I make green drinks daily and this gets the job done! It's powerful, sharp and it seems that the blade reverses direction when it needs to break harder ice pieces. The shortcut buttons for “smoothie, milkshake and foodchop” are amazing and save time trying to find the right setting. You can also choose the thickness of what you are grinding up as well! I use the food processor a lot especially to chop up onions and spices for my tomato sauce!! This is a kitchen staple and everyone should own an Oster! The Oster Texture Select is by far the best I've ever used. It comes with a 5 cup food processor, and 9 preprogrammed settings. Simply amazed me when I used it for the first time, I've never had a blender that crushes ice like this one does. It has a food mode , smoothie, milkshake, and chop which is awesome. The texture mode features a thin , med, and thick texture mode. I will definitely be entertaining alot more , it's very simple to use and is overall the fastest way to making anything you want. First of all this blender looks so professional like the ones that they have a food establishments. The blender is an average size in comparison to other blenders. It looks high end like the very pricy blenders one sees at the stores. I have used this blender mostly for making smoothies. I make them at least once a day, sometimes twice. The food processor makes it easier and a quicker process to chop up large vegetables to mix into my fruit smoothies. I am not fond of vegetables and neither are my kids. This is the only way we can get our dose of vegetables each day. I've made my smoothies with full cubes from my ice tray and mixed in fruit and vegetables and the smoothies always come out smooth. There are never any chunks of ice or fruit/vegetables in my drink. However sometimes I purposely only blend for a minimal amount of seconds to have some ice pieces. That's jus a preference when I'm feeling like having some ice to chew on as I drink my smoothies. I've also made some excellent Mexican spicy green sauce with tomatillos and peppers. The Oster Texture Select Pro Blender far exceeded my expectations. I love that it is a blender plus the option for the addition of a food processor. I tested out the blender first by making a slushy. The ice chopped nice and the texture is smooth as a slushy is supposed to be. The food processor is what I love about this blender set. I tested out the slicer with a block of cheese and I will never go back to cutting cheese - or anything like that again! It was quick and easy. This blender is going to get its use in our household. Been a while since I used a blender and I remember my old one being a bit hard to clean and use. But not this one! I love the settings on it. Instead of having to stand there and hold a button and watch to see if it's getting to thin, you just choose a setting and walk away. At first I thought it wasn't working because it would go fast and stop but it was just working through its cycle. It perfectly blended my frozen fruit smoothie by the smoothie setting. I also used the food processor to shred up potatoes for potato soup and it was so quick and easy. My old blender was a pain to clean but this one came out clean just a go in the dishwasher. The blades do come off though if they needed extra cleaning, but I feel that would only be the case if let something dry onto them. I have a feeling I will be using this plenty over the next few months with the weather changing. Made peanut butter milkshake in it. I love that you can choose the thickness of it. Its is so nice and fancy but it is still easy to use. Just twist the knob to the settings you want and press play button. I love that its interchangeable and a food processor attachment goes on it. I did chicken in it for chicken salad.
