I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase. I bought it on Prime Day so felt like I got a great deal. I was a little leery at first since I had never used an air fryer. I?ve cooked bacon, pork chops, fried chicken twice, Italian sausages and fresh French fries. Everything has been great. You do need to watch the food and turn it over once in a while and shake the French fries two or three times. Clean up is easy since it all goes in the dishwasher - although it does take up a lot of room.

We really liked how the air fryer cooked, but the analog timer dial was a problem. It was difficult to set it at the proper time, and you couldn?t pause it. Then it started stopping a few minutes before the end time, with just a clicking noise. We couldn?t count on it and returned it.

The only thing I did not like is the timer. To hard to back track on the time. Doesn?t turn on till about 6 minutes. Overall awesome cooker

This Philips XXL with analog controls is our first air fryer. Strong points are: 1) it only has two controls.. temperature and analog timer. Even I could figure out how to use it. 2) Parts remove easily and can be put in dishwasher for easy clean up 3) fine mesh screen and size of cooking chamber allow for placement of about 10-12 chicken wings without touching. Since they do not touch there is NO need to move or rearrange the pieces during cooking as is recommended in so many recipes. Just set the temp and time and come back when they are done. Easy peasy. I would never recommend a fryer smaller than this XXL. I wish we could fit more wings (yes we love wings) in per batch. However a larger unit might create problems with amperage required and parts fitting into dishwasher.

I?ve been using Philips AirFryers since the original 3qt model, purchased about 10 yrs ago. We upgraded to the larger 3.5qt model after giving our original to a friend. In between we tried two other larger models from other manufacturers that were terrible. We recently purchased the newest Philips 4qt unit with the tristar tech. It has been the perfect AirFryer. I?ve easily made 4lb batches or wings and had perfect results. There is simply no other substitute for the Philips brand. I think the starfish bottom is the main reason for this, along with a very strong heating element and blower. The others in comparison are cheap knockoffs.

I wished I would have bought the XXL Airfryer first instead of the countless others I've bought. The drawer feature that opens it is phenomenal. I haven't done major cooking in it, but English muffins come out toasted with the butter permeated throughout the muffin.
