Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Review!+ Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer [+1] [Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Review] You don't need a 6-gallon oil vat to enjoy deep-fried foods at home--this petite deep fryer makes four big servings with just 4 cups of oil. A compact 7 inches in diameter, the fryer features easy controls for precision frying: it automatically maintains the proper frying temperature, letting you focus on cooking instead of fussing with the controls. The fryer features a snap-on lid, so you can store oil right in the fryer for reuse. All surfaces are nonstick for tidy cleanup (the fryer is not dishwasher-safe and should never be completely immersed in water). A hand scoop is included with the fryer for easy stirring, lifting, and draining, and the 120-volt AC cord unplugs from the outlet, while the attached handle makes the fryer easy to move around the kitchen. The fryer has a two-year limited warranty. Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Review!+ Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer [+1] [Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Review] TOP CUSTOMERS REVIEW : I probably shouldn't give 5 Stars when I haven't even used this one yet. But this is my fourth one. I would be lost without one. Concerning headline above I just fine it easier when unit is just slightly warm to clean after every use. It has never damaged finish an it looks New all the time. I was reading reviews just to see if any changes have been made. The magnetic cord is New to me since my Frydaddy's last so many years. Mine came with metal they call now a scoop, it never scratched the interior and I really liked it so hoping this plastic one is not slippery because not real deep and that it can handle the heat. It does look like it would do well. I read some not happy without being able to have a temp. control setting. I opted out of getting Presto's Kettle it is immersible and can control temp. But I am so pleased and used to the Frydaddy. I also have never burnt anything or had a problem. It heats up quickly doesn't go any higher than needed. It fries nice an quick so unit isn't on that long. I agree a optional glass lid would be nice but I don't have a problem with the plastic lid just have to let unit cool first. Another review read that it needs a splatter guard. I personally don't use one and just keep it a few inches from other appliance. Yes if full of ice crystals then it will fry differently. A guard is about 3.00. I don't want to ruin my oil so I don't fry with crystals. Last review I read, I keep my oil in my Frydaddy just personal preference. I like it handy and ready to go.

This little fryer is the best thing going. It does not use a lot of oil, heats quickly, reheats quickly once adding food stuffs, and is a snap to clean up. Also comes with a lid if you like to reuse your oil. I have worn out the last version and this one is the new updated version but works like all the originals have.

Heats up quickly and it’s small size is perfect for a single, a couple or even a small family. I have only used it to make sweet potato fries but I am sure I will find plenty of other uses for it. It does a great job! Love the lid so you can store the cooking oil in the FryDaddy and the spoon for removing the fries from the hot oil.

Great to have a little deep fat fryer that is not cumbersome. Heats up quickly. Of course, the oild gets really hot wihich it should when deep fat frying. The bottom of the fryer gets really hot, so we put it on our range, NOT THE COUNTERTOP. Clean up is a little challenge, but when dealing with hot oil and the residue left after using it, you need to expect that. Need to let sit for a while in order for the oil to cool down and pour into another container in order to use the oil again. After draining the oil, just wipe out the inside of the fryer with paper towels, then put a couple drops of dish detergent inside it, a little hot water, wash with sponge, dry and done. No big deal for us.

Fellow reviewers, my sincere thanks for all of your help in answering my question re: Presto FryDaddy, "Can you deep fry bacon with this?"

Surprisingly, the responses did not indicate that anyone had actually tried. Well bacon lovers, I am here to tell you that it cooks the most amazing, crispy bacon - ever!

They should call it the Presto BaconDaddy! How about The Baconator? All I'm trying to convey is, how could you NOT use this for baconating???

I strongly recommend a splatter guard as soon as you've placed the slices into the oil. I used Canola oil and other than that, found the max number of thick sliced pieces should be limited to 3 at a time, 4 MAY lead to the oil overflowing. Yup, experience. However the experimenting was more than useful, and delicious!

Note: being a small fryer without a rack, the bacon comes out like its previous owner's curly-cue tail, but make no mistake, unless you are a food stylist, it'll be the best bacon ever!

So, my bacon mates, here is your holy grail of swine strips!

And to all of the answers as to whether or not the Presto FryDaddy can be used to cook bacon, the simple answer is, how can you own this and not have tried??

I have an old FryDaddy which I have been using for more than a decade and I needed to replace it with a new one which I couldn't find anymore in the store. There are some accumulated oil drippings on the outside and some scrapings on the inside wall, however, it still does work and serviceable--just needed to retire it. The new one I just bought is exactly the same as the old one I had. I do like FryDaddy because it is lightweight, uses only about 2-3 cups oil and cooks the food fast. Then you can reuse the oil for future frying. Just remember, however to pull the plug off as soon as you finished frying as it doesn't have an on-off feature. Also, as soon as the unit has cooled off a bit, clean the outside part with warm paper towel and put the lid on before putting away.
