Absolutely love this blender, the vintage style is what something different and unique , blends everything perfectly. The weight of it is not too light but not too heavy too. The rubber suctions on the bottom are amazing that avoids any slipping damage to the machine. The only thing that bothers me is that its noisy a little bit. The Retro Style 6-Cup Blender | Black is one awesome blender and I absolutely love this! It's very stylish and works great! You can blend anything in this! I was very impressed by this blender! It’s very heavy duty and durable. The glass is so thick. The cover suctions on well and has no leaks. It’s very powerful. Not only does it blend very well; it chops ice and thicker ingredients with ease. It’s fairly easy to clean. I also love the retro design. It makes it a great addition to my kitchen! I received the Russell Hobbs Retro Style 6-Cup Blender in Red from Spectrum Brands First Look Community for trying it out and to provide my honest reviews in return. I loved the stylish retro design of this Blender with its premium stainless steel accents with 3 speeds plus pulse setting with variable speed control. The important part is BPA free food-touching parts with non slip feet for stability. The 1.5 liter (6 cup) capacity glass jug with dishwasher safe parts makes usage and cleaning a breeze. The RPM gauge helps me a lot too. I cannot just describe in words how much helpful this blender is in my household everyday. Ever since the minute I got it I have been using it at least 2-3 times a day, since I cook all the meals for my family and rarely eat out. I have been using this blender the way blenders should be used which has made my life so easier. With practice I have found out the best way to use a blender which helps me a lot with my daily blending. I sure would love to share the tips with all: (1) Solid foods should be cut into small pieces. (2) Make sure the lid is securely on before operating. (3) Begin processing on the lowest speed setting, then ramp up as needed. (4) Don’t leave the blender unattended – the lid can fly off. (5) Have a towel handy to cover the lid when gradually adding in liquids like oil to a hot puree, as steam and splattering may occur. (6) Leave room for expansion – the top third of the jar should be free of any liquid or solids. (7) If the mixture stops circulating, remove the lip plug and use the tamper to stir or push down the ingredients. (8) If there is an air bubble, stop and use a spatula to stir the ingredients then process again. (9) Add liquid gradually if needed to loosen a thick mixture and create a smooth product. (10) Take breaks if cup becomes very warm when touched. Turn off the blender, allow to cool if needed, or unplug! (11) Don’t ever immerse the base in water to avoid the risk of electrical shock. Wipe it down with a damp cloth or smooth sponge instead. (12) The ingredients needs to be loaded and layered correctly - With large containers like this one we should add the ingredients in the following order - add liquids, dry goods, leafy greens, fruits and vegetables, ice and frozen ingredients last. I have used this blender for almost all possible ways a blender could be used which include the following. Still I have a lot of experiments to do using this Blender. (a) Sauces, Dip and Dressings: Pesto, mayonnaise, hummus, spreads, salsas, vinaigrettes. (b) Frozen Desserts: Ice cream bases and fruit-based treats. (c) Vegetable Rice: Low carb sides like broccoli rice, cauliflower rice (d) Beverages: Smoothies, frozen drinks, blended alcohol drinks. (e) Nuts: Homemade nut butter like almond or peanut. (f) Purees: Baby food and hot or cold soups. (g) Grinding meat: Only for less fibrous proteins like shrimp or fish. (h) Grains and Cereals: Breadcrumbs, cookie crumbs, oat flour, almond flour. (i) Sugar: Powder sugar made in seconds. (j) Batter: Pancakes and muffin. After using this amazing retro-style blender I have found out that my Russell Hobbs Retro Style 6-Cup Blender is the best blender I have ever used. It is stylish, versatile, sturdy and has never failed in any of my blending activities so far. I love this Red Blender so much that I have already recommended this Blender to several of my friends and family who does a lot of cooking like me. Many of them are planning to buy this blender soon. Also, I know that although this Blender has a warranty of 2 years, but sure it will last a lot more years, but if needed I will buy this Blender again, as I cannot think of using any other Blender in life.
