This is a great unit! We bought a more industrial unit and used it 2 seasons about 9 hours total use and the shaft broke in a place that can't be fixed, not even welded. This was a smaller unit and ordered in a emergency because it would be delivered within days... so happy we went this unit, so much easier to clean (I mean really easy) grinds very well with multiple speeds. I could go on and on... oh and we lent it out to other family members and I know for sure my sister in law bought one not sure if from same person on Amazon but exact same unit. We love it great unit and not as heavy as the industrial model ( I lift 50 lbs bags of dog food without trouble) so I carry it and handle it on my own. I haven't used the sausage stuffing part yet so I won't comment on that but I can attest to the grinder and it's awsome!

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son. He used it to make sausage yesterday. He said it works really well and he was able to grind over 9 lbs. of pork in about 20 minutes. He wanted it so that he could process his own deer meat. So far it's been a great purchase!

Got this after getting a crazy price for processing a deer my husband had killed.. it was a great investment since he ended up killing 2 more after. We didn’t try the sausage making yet but we ground up deer and pork and it was awesome. Super fast, efficient and not even as noisy as some of the reviews mention. It was cool to process it all yourself and I don’t think we will ever pay to have a deer processed again. Definitely get this machine you will not regret it!

We have put this grinder to the test the past few weeks and it has passed the test. Meat needs to be semi frozen as it should be for processing. Cutting meat in to long strips seems to work the best with less need for the stuffing/pushing tool. Cleaning is not bad just wish all parts were dishwasher safe. As they are polished aluminum they "MUST Be Hand Washed" and dried. I spray a light coating of "Food Grade Silicone" to protect the finish and to prevent the grinding plates from rusting. As far as a sausage stuffer its ok, again meat needs to be semi frozen for best results. The stuffing/pusher tool is not that great as it forms a suction when using it. By following the cleaning instructions we have not lost any of the shine or had any rust issues. I keep the auger, plates and blades in a zip top bag after coating with "food grade silicone"

This thing is wonderful. I used it for at least 5 hours after Thanksgiving grinding up venison and pork. I also stuffed sausages with it. The instructions were clear and easy to understand as well. A few things that stood out to me at first: When I started my first batch, there were some black residue left on the meat as it left the grinder. I tossed about 1/2 a pound of those meat away. I believe it was from the blade and grinding plate working against one another. Also, when stuffing, after two casings, it is best to clean and reattached. Depending on your meat, some got stuck on the sausage stuffer grinding plate making it hard to slow for the meat to push through into the casing. Once it is cleaned though, the meat comes out smoothly and fast again. Overall, I like this product, plan to use it for a long time and it is a great investment for home processing of meats.

I bought this specifically to make summer sausage. It was very easy to set up and get working. I had no issues with speed or power. The grind was perfect and having multiple plates helped to go from a larger grind to fine. The connection for the sausages worked as expected. Only complaint is that there seemed to be a good amount of meat still in the grinder when I started cleaning up. Cleanup was easy enough. I look forward to more uses.

The tray that goes on top doesn't actually lock on, it just sits there and wobbles. The grinding plates are really discolored (see pics) it looks like some sort of oxidation. Grinds really well though!

I've used this to grind several kinds of meat including wild boar and it's worked wonderfully. It's fast and I've never had a clog. I also made LOTS of sausage this year and even though it was the first time I've stuffed it into casing it worked like a breeze. I'm very satisfied with it and look forward to using it for years to come. It's a great value for the price too. It's very easy to assemble but it is important to read the instructions first. It's fairly easy to clean and once again I did read and follow the instruction manual. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this grinder.

I love this machine. I got tried of tossing my left over seer meat. I debone my deer completely now. What doesn't go into steaks and roast gets grounded. My 2nd year using it. If you freeze your meats a little. It grinds quite well. You get much better grnd meat, Than you purchase in stores. Love the machine, Would buy it again.

We used it as described and it worked very well. We cut the venison into about 1" x 1" strips and partially froze them, probably to about 75%. At first, I was overdoing it by grinding right to the smallest size. The machine worked ok that way, but I felt like it was overworking a little bit too much. I'm sure if I bought the machine that cost 5 times as much it would have been fine, but I didn't want to spend a fortune, and I want it to last. So I decided to first grind it to the largest size, then to the smallest size, and then I re-fed the meat into the machine and filled the hamburger bags using the largest tube. That method was very quick and efficient. Considering the price and the functionality, I'm definitely happy with my purchase. I read other bad reviews. Some people might have had legit problems, but many of the problems could have been avoided by following the instructions.

Not great for low-grade steak. Chokes on even moderate gristle. Does a decent job of easy grinding tasks. Don't expect pro-grade results, but if you want to turn some steaks into hamburger meat and have patience not to crowd the machine, it's a solid choice.

This review is based on processing 150+ lbs of elk meat. First, the instructions on assembly suck in the package. Watch the youtube tutorial. What I will say is you get what you pay for. This piece does not have solid steel parts. When operating, it gives off a smell. The motor and back end of the grinder. I was afraid it would taint the meat. So, I made tacos with the fresh meat. All good. It handles the intital cuts well. I cut pieces large enough to fit down the tray's tube. Like 2"x2". Some partially frozen, some not. It didn't matter. This handled it all. And fast! Second cut thru the burger plate, was slower. You need the little plastic stuffer attachment. Probably the norm. But I got 150 lbs and more done with it. Never used reverse. Never stopped or burned up. Over the course of a week. I did add pig back fat to half of this. On the first cut. Did really well. On the second cut, you wont get it all out. So bigger batches are best if possible.

OK - first you have to put this together which is tough because the directions don't tell you the blade has to go a specific way but it fits both ways. Next once you use this contraption which does work well to grind your meat you have to clean it. Good luck with that. I cleaned and cleaned and gave up and put in dishwasher. BAD idea as it tarnished black and was ruined!

It works. Having said that, it is surprisingly flimsy for the price point. It looks, and feels like it was made from the most inexpensive materials they could possibly source to put it together. Having put it together and felt it’s construction now, it should be priced at half of what it is. Given how it looks and feels, I’m guessing the machinery inside is likely sourced and assembled in the same manner. Unfortunately, I don’t anticipate for it to last too long. It’s a shame, the pictures made it look really nice.

I initially bought a grinder from a different brand, and one of the buttons immediately broke when my girlfriend tried to turn it on. That may have been a fluke, but it was clearly low quality. I decided to spend the extra money on this guy. When we first received our STX grinder, the main tube had some significant discoloration, but everything else looked pretty solid. I wrote the seller, and they immediately shipped us a new part, so it ended up not being an issue. It's a bit loud but not unbearable. I would say it's not quite as loud as a vacuum, but it's close. Cleaning is a bit of a task since you can't just throw it in the dishwasher, but it goes by quickly if you have some help. We made sausages for the first time a few nights ago, and, aside from a slight learning curve, it was surprisingly easy. My girlfriend also made cauliflower rice, which was incredibly easy. Unless I'm making sausage, this thing tends to grind faster than I can feed it, so it's definitely powerful. For the price and customer service, this is a great buy.

We love to make 3 things (Sausage, Kubbeh, and Falafel). So, we used to use Kitchen-Aid to grind, and it used to take us for ever to do the work. Our kitchen aid stopped working, and we were between 2 solutions, fix Kitchen-aid and buy new attachments/tools to make work easier, or go with this machine for now and fix kitchen-aid whenever time allows. My wife had an Amazon Gift Card, so she went ahead and ordered the Powerful STX Turboforce Classic 3000 Series Electric Meat Grinder & Sausage Stuffer. Waaw. This is truly powerful and such a great machine to use and work with. If I would recommend the manufacturer with something, I would say please add a small plastic or rubber tool to help clean up the 3 - Sizes of Grinding Plates. These plates when they are filled with grinded food, they're tough to clean. I hope this gets some attention. Otherwise the machine is excellent and works really nice and we where able to use it so far for making Sausage & Kubbeh and tomorrow we are expected to use it for making the falafel mix. The sausage and Kubbeh were amazing and easy to make. Thank you STX INTERNATIONAL for such a great machine and thank you Amazon for picking it as Amazon's Choice.

I was really happy with my purchase. The price is great! The product is great! I’ve used it a couple of times already (just got it about a week ago) and it does an awesome job of grinding. I did some burger and some razor clams for chowder and it handled both with ease. I really like how light it is. I have an old grinder that weighs about forty pounds and is really difficult to move around. This one is heavy enough to get the job done but light enough to move easily. I would totally recommend this meat grinder to anyone looking for a home grinder. A big plus is the company I bought it from, they thanked me for being a customer and gave me all the information I need to get hold of them if I ever have a problem. Great customer service!

Grinds chicken necks and bones for making Raw diet for dogs. The disclaimer says not to grind bones however it gets the job done. Use the grinding plate with the three holes and machine won’t jam. Cut each chicken neck into 4 small chunks then toss in.

So far we have ground about 100 pounds of pork. We have had no issues. We previously used the grinder attachment for a KitchenAid mixer and the STX grinder blows it away. We have tried a single grind and a double grind. The double grind is much more consistent for size and texture. It helps to have the meat nearly frozen, for a faster and slightly more consistent grind. But if only chilled, it still does a good job. It's not overly noisy. Maybe wish it was a little taller, but the height isn't a big deal. Overall very pleased.

We are huge on hunting and sustainability here in Hawaii. We went hunting and caught a boar and a deer. We made sausage and ground patties for burgers! It was by far the best sausage and burgers! We have a huge family and were able to help provide food for everyone and also make a side income off of this by selling our sausage!!! Thank YOU!!!

I raise a few hogs. Since the farmers market has been closed because of Covid I decided to start making my own Sausage. No need to go to a USDA butcher if I am not selling the meat. Bought this and a LEM Products 1606 stuffer. This will grind 10 times faster than the Kitchen Aid attachment.

I really wish that my brother and I had this grinder last October! We made do with a unit that's primarily a food processor to grind up the scraps and tougher parts of a big Colorado cow elk. Needless to say, that unit broke down very quickly. I finally had the opportunity to use the STX Turboforce Classic 3000 unit recently to fine grind a packet of elk neck meat and it did a great job. Elk neck is delicious but very tough, so a good grinder is imperative! There's nothing like Sloppy Joe's with Colorado Elk!

I usually don’t write reviews but felt compelled to write about this product. I absolutely enjoy it. The quality is much better than what I thought it would be because of the low price. It very easy to use, I have never used a meat grinder before. It also saves a lot of money because I can buy the whole meats and cut them myself. Not all grocery stores will do that anymore. I will definitely recommend this product and I’m sure it will more than pay for itself quickly. Also the company has a help line and many ways to contact them if needed.

So after I used this grinder several times I decided to write my review. I am very pleased with this good priced high quality grinder. I think some negative reviews are because of the misunderstanding of how to use it. I read the manual carefully and as in the attached pictures. This grinder helped me not only in grinding meat but with making burgers and falafel in it. Here are some bullet points from my experience: 1. Avoid putting hard vegies or fruit in it unless it is cut already in a mixer or so. For example, falafel mix has hard chickpeas, even though they are kinda small it should be cut in the mixer then put it with other ingredients in the grinder and it worked perfectly. 2. It grinds big amounts ( we did 6 lbs ground goat at once). 3. Assemble it carefully so it works well and follow the steps. 4. Clean it and dry it with a cloth RIGHT AWAY. Rusting occurs when you leave it to air dry. 5. Each piece has its own way of washing and cleaning!!!! They are all explained in detail in the manual. It is easy to read though. 6. Since meat can be hard to cleaned out of the machine hot water works just fine. So far I loved this machine in my kitchen ?

I bought a meat grinder from Harbor Freight a couple years ago and it was junk and wouldn't grind anything. I purchased this one (was recommended by my niece and her husband. They use it to grind venison). Oh my goodness....this thing ground 7 pounds of chicken breast in 4 minutes without a hiccup. I ground chicken and made sausage on Saturday and planning on getting beef to grind my own burger. I highly recommend this grinder. It's very easy to clean and use. I wish I had bought this years ago.

I decided it was time to "make" my own ground beef and Italian sausage. I purchased this product to do this. The first time I used it, I ground four pounds of sirloin stake into hamburger and used the hamburger patty maker to make perfect patties. I then ground six pounds of pork butt. I ran the pork through twice: once using a plate with wider holes and the second using skinnier holes. It was effortless. In fact, it took less time to run the meat through the grinder than it did to cut the meat into cubes to put it in the grinder. Even the pork butt -- with its fat -- moved effortlessly through the grinder. What really impressed me is that the machine did not get hot while I was doing this. I realize that what I was grinding was small compared to what other's might do. But, I purchased this to meet my needs and it does so just I expected! I'm really happy with my meat grinder.

overall I ground 40-45 lbs of white tail deer meat, and I used all 3 blades from coarse to fine and triple ground all the meat and did not have one plug up at all on machine. Very pleased of the operation and easy clean up, well worth what I paid for it, if you don't want to spend a lot more money but want a good grinder for the home user doing your own deer meat Id buy this one, I am glad I did. It may not be as fast as an industrial grinder but for what I need this grinder fit the bill.... John

This meat grinder works great. The sausage making function works great as well. The motor is strong enough to do the job. I'm glad we didn't buy a cheaper one with a weaker motor. There is a procedure for grinding meat which every butcher knows. Follow it. The same with the sausage stuffing. Simple procedures to learn if your not familiar. We're enjoying great sausage and the 2 best things is, it's fun and we know what's in it.

If I was in US, I would be purchasing your products on a regular basis when is needed and recommend you to others. Although I could not use the grinding machined because the 2-pin plug is not compatible to that of the UK which is a 3-pin plug. You need to inform customers about the difference to enable them make informed decision. I believe the meat grinder is a good product. I liked it because it has many useful components which I cannot find elsewhere. Order arrived before the due date. You acted professionally and promptly in dealing my concern and apologised. Communication between you and customer is outstanding which makes life easier.

I borrowed a meat grinder to use for my venison last year, and woof it was a terrible grinder and a hassle to boot. So, being a guy who would rather use something that costs a 'little' more at the hope of it working better, I was thoroughly impressed by this grinder. It chewed up a ten pound pork butt and 40 pounds of venison quite easily. No, I didn't throw bone in there (because it says not to), and no it isn't dishwasher safe. However, it is super easy to hand wash and takes hardly any time at all. The only negative aspect in and of itself is that hand washing is required, but it's easy anyways so big whoop. If you want a relatively mid priced grinder that works as well as it ought to, I would hazard a guess that this is your grinder.

As a grinder this worked great. Stable, cleaned easily, no complaints. As a sausage filler not so great (short tubes, very slow) so I bought a dedicated sausage stuffer too. Since it is primarily a grinder I gave it a 5 for it’s main purpose.

I purchased the grinder to process my own venison. I followed the directions to a T and the grinder worked flawlessly. I read all the comments prior to my purchase and took note that many of the negative comments were from people that didn't follow the directions completely. It is sooo important to use partially frozen meat, not rock hard, but semi frozen. Grinder ground the strips of Venison with ease as did pork. It's also quieter than I expected. Can't wait to make my own sausage links!

I had an old cheap grinder that I would have to take apart and clean every 30 seconds while grinding. This one is worth every penny I paid. I was able to grind all my deer meat without having to clean it once. You do have to dry your parts after you wash it otherwise it might rust, but if that is the worst I have to deal with I am more than happy to have this grinder.

Walmart.com has an extensive number of meat grinders to choose from. After a lot of consideration and comparing of products I chose this one. It looked like it has the best features. The size of the unit in the description just did not sink in. The size was somewhat of a surprise when the meat grinder arrived. The first thing was the size of the unit. It is indeed a large unit. Three or four times the size of my old unit. This is indeed a heavy duty unit for home usage not to be confused with a commercial unit found in a butcher shop. When using this unit, cool down the meat to just above freezing as that will grind better. This unit just gobbles up whatever meat it is fed. Want to try something different? Use 75% flap meat and 25% pork. This makes a very nice tasting hamburger or meat loaf. If grinding for a cookout or other gathering where only three or four pounds need grinding, the setup and cleanup will take longer than the actual time spent grinding the meat. I keep the items in plastic bags for storage. The design of the unit permits easy and quick assembly. Cleanup is simple just remove the parts and wash in warm soapy water. DO NOT PUT IN A DISHWASHER. This is a very good choice for anyone that plans on grinding more than a few pounds of meat at one time.

I hunt and process all my own stuff. This is a game changer. I killed my Kitchen Aid on the last one. This machine will cut your time down from hours to minutes, I am not kidding or exaggerating. I ground about 10 pounds of meat in minutes and made meatballs, hamburgers, and packed ground meat into bags and cleaned up in the time it would have taken to just grind the meat with my Kitchen aid. The grind was better as well. I wish I had gotten this years ago. I've worked in professional kitchens and while this is not a commercial grinder, it is close. Very impressed and happy with my purchase.

Processed 15 lbs of pork and beef to make salumi. Works quickly and made stuffing the sausage casing very easy. My only complaint is that the meat pusher is slightly smaller in diameter than the feed tube so ground meat remains in the tube.

Easy assembly, SUPER easy cleanup, and some nice extras. Not super loud, doesn’t walk on the countertop, took anything I could stuff into it. Processed about 60# of venison and pork in a couple hours. This is about 6 steps up from the Kitchenaid attachment and 100x better than the old hand-cranked one that clamps on the counter top.

Did a bunch of research before purchasing this item, and was hoping it would deliver on that next level quality hamburger meat produced from various cuts of steak. It does, and the hype is real. I will absolutely not go back to buying pre-packaged mystery meat sold in your average grocery store.

Perfect meat grinder. For the price point and warranty I highly recommend it. Not too noisy and ground the meat up perfectly. Went through 40 lbs. of deer at about 20 minutes or less. If you want meat a little chunkier you probably will want to get the next larger size plate which I am going to purchase. I tried to bog it down, but couldn't. The meat was at room temperature for the most part when ground.

We used the Kitchen Aid grinder/stuffer attachment a couple of times, which was a good way to find out if we wanted to make sausages on a regular basis. It was so slow and tedious that we stopped using it, though we still wanted to make sausage. We got this machine and couldn't be happier. We ground 12 pounds of meat in about 15 minutes. The machine pulled the meat right in, we hardly used the pusher at all. Cleanup was simple. We didn't use the sausage stuffing tubes since we also purchased a separate stuffer. We're totally happy with the power and quality of the unit and will certainly be using it on a regular basis.

I purchased this meat grinder as I was a little frustrated with my KitchenAid mixer attachment. I like that it comes with three cutting blades, which I paired up with it's own grinding plate and placed them in their own plastic containers with some cooking oil. I will not be using the sausage stuffing attachment as I find trying to stuff sausage mix into a meat grinder tiresome and I have a dedicated 5lb capacity s/s sausage stuffer. The motor is a little smaller than I had hoped and the whole unit feels a little on the light side, which is why it received 4 stars. However, it has so far performed well grinding a whole chuck and a pork shoulder, although it is certainly more noisy than my KitchenAid it's a small price to pay for the proficient mincing of semi-frozen meat. The meat pusher is nice and large and accommodates the sausage stuffing tubes, however I find filling it with water and freezing it along with the grinding head helps keep the meat cold during processing.

So much fun to use on chicken, beef, pork and even seafood (gotta get the shrimp really cold and firm and get the super big ones). We now make our own ground beef (sirloin and chuck purchased direct from a rancher with a little fat added if needed), shrimp and/or lobster roll filling, spicy chicken meatballs, pork sausage (patties, can't bring myself to use the link skins). MUCH easier to clean than I thought it would be. Did I mention it's lots of fun?!

My grinder isn't exactly like the image it's got a white body. Speed 1 is fast and speed 2 is slow, seems odd but it works. Does an awesome job at grinding meat. We ground 15 pounds of pork butt and about 7-8 pounds of bacon ends and pieces to mix with ground elk to make sausage. It did a fine job with 2-3 inch cubes of meat. The only bad things I have to say is that there is no parts list with the paperwork so good luck finding parts if you break or lose something; and the sausage stuffing horn is probably fine if you're stuffing under 10 pounds of sausage. We started stuffing with it and after 2 rings gave up and switched to an actual sausage suffer, it was very labor intensive.

I bought mine in 2013 and it's still going strong. Just today I made 40 lbs of breakfast sausage. I've probably used it 20 time and average 10-20 lbs each time I use it.

I LOVE this meat grinder. I feed my cats a raw diet and this little grinder is great. I grind about 9 lbs of chicken legs a week, bones and all (yeah, i know it says dont do that in the description but trust me, its fine - though occasionally i will cut bigger legs in half with a butcher knife) If youre planning on using this for a raw diet, it's a great little grinder. It is loud, but not so loud that my cats are afraid of it. A year strong with no issues.

I bought this november 20 2016 and used it regularly (about once a month) and it worked fine. As of 2018 I started leaving town a lot for work and used it a lot less. I haven't used it in probably about 6 months and wanted to make some burgers and when I turned it on it started marking a terrible noise and sparking. I quickly unplugged it and haven't been able to use it since. Not really sure what went wrong, it worked great and had no problems up until it just stopped working.

LOVE THIS GRINDER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND I bought this to grind pork loin roast. I use ground pork for many recipes but I like it lean and that has been hard to find since Costco stopped packaging their pork chop trimmings. I bought a pork loin from Costco (since it is pretty lean with enough fat to make good ground meat), cut it in strips per the grinder instructions. Partially freezing the strips is essential as the firmer cold meat really does grind better. I used the larger hole plate for ground meat. I couldn't believe how easy and efficient it went. If the meat starts to get a little warmer and soft it will build up some but easy to prevent by keeping the meat chilled enough until ready to use it. Cleaning is time consuming, but would be the same for any grinder. After I washed the plate I used a hair dryer on it to get additional moisture out of the holes as I will be storing it for months between grindings.

I did not know what I was getting but according to the reviews on this I went ahead and ordered it. I had previously bought two other meat grinder and both of them were total crap. This one ground up a buck deer in less than a half hour and didn't struggle a bit. We followed the instructions and put the meat in the freezer for 1 1/2 hours and it was perfect. The grinder chomped it right up with zero problems. This was a great buy!!!!! Also the directions were second to none. One has no doubts what they are to do to set it up and how to use it. So, please read the directions right after opening it.

This thing is an animal...we were able.to grind 200lbs of moose in just an evening. This thing ate thru frozen bacon, frozen pork fat and mostly frozen meat like it was going out of style. Sure it stalled a couple times but it's a counter top grinder. Run it in the low setting and it will never quit, run it on high and good luck keeping up with it. Wish it had a larger hopper. Got the model with the foot pedal which I imagine will be great when I use it to stuff sausage. A++++ product

We have been grinding meat with our Kitchen Aid for several years. It has become increasingly frustrating because it's so slow, and the meat ends up clogged and clumped. I decided to research an actual meat grinder and found the STX-3000-TF Turbo Force. All I can say is WOW! The reviews encouraged me to save it in my Wish List. When we finally had enough frustration with the Kitchen Aid, I decided to buy the STX-3000. It is SO amazing! It's so fast! We ground up 20 pounds of meat into hamburger in TEN MINUTES!!! SO easy to clean too. And the best part? It also has the sausage attachment! We haven't used the sausage attachment yet, but I can't wait to try it! One suggestion on this machine when you first use it: read the directions. My husband just put together what he thought would work, and it started out grinding like the Kitchen Aid, getting stopped up. He was getting frustrated, so I pulled out the directions, looked at the blade he was using, switched it out, and it went smooth as silk! My only regret is that we didn't purchase this sooner!

Took this item out of the box and tried grinding pork shoulder according to the manufacturer's instructions. The machine seized up within one minute of operation, with the motor making a terrible squealing sound. The auger no longer turns. In summary, I was only able to grind about 3 oz of meat before this machine died completely. I was very disappointed in the build quality. Based on the other reviews here, I can only assume that I got a dud unit. But the timing was unfortunate, because I had set aside the entire afternoon and invited friends over for sausage-making -- and we had to abort the whole project.

Decent price. Bought to grind meat for my dog and cats raw diet. Works pretty fast and thoroughly grinds meat and bones. It comes covered in grease from the manufacturer so it needs washed thoroughly when it arrives but it is pretty easy to clean. It also comes in many pieces but there are instructions and took approximately 20 minutes to put together. It is loud and does liquidy meats pretty easy. I would recommend this grinder for the price. Picture shows 20 chicken thighs and livers grinded up

I spent a lot of time searching for a meat grinder machine finally I bought this one and I do not regret it it is so easy to use, now I can have ground meat whenever I want and I feel so confident that the ground meat I use for cooking is of good quality . When you are grinding the meat, make sure you cut it in long pieces, but no wide pieces and the meat has to be really cold or a lttle frozen, not much. You have to use the coarse plate first an then grind it again on the median one or the fine one and the results are the same as the ground meat at the store, but make sure you put the blades according to the instructions you do not want to mess up the blades. I really reccomend this machine

After using my stand mixer's grinder attachments to grind meat for homemade sausage, I can tell you my Turboforce grinder is light years better than the mixer. What was taking me an hour to grind only takes a few minutes. It is differently worth buying. It just under a couple weeks I have used it 3 times because it makes grinding so much easier. I highly recommend it for any one who wants to make their own sausage or hamburger and control what gets put in their food. Unlike the mixer, all the important parts are metal and well constructed.

I make my cat's food due to them having special health concerns. This grinder has taken a process that used to take me between 6 and 7 hours every two weeks, down to taking between 30 minutes and an hour and most of that time is meat prep work. The grinder is incredibly easy to clean, it's very easy to use, and it gets the job done. I haven't had any problems in the time that I've had it and even if there is a problem it has an amazing warranty of 3 years! I searched for grinders for a few months and I couldn't find any other company that offered a warranty even close to that. It is definitely worth the money. I would recommend this to anybody who needs a meat grinder!

This is the worst grinder ever. I was expecting a metal workable machine. What i received was a cheap plastic casing with a thin plastic plunger. The feeding tray does not fit correctly so any pressure and it wobbles and leaks. The grinder is useless even partially frozen meat caused it to jam and gum up. It feels like the plates do not fit correctly either. There is a large gap from the metal star to the plates. Once i get my money back I will be return to One Stop Jerky Shop for my old faithful

Make certain the meat is very cold, the firmer the better but not frozen, of course. That helps keep everything running smooth and gives the meat a proper texture as its ground. The machine works great. Plenty of power. We primarily use it to ground venison. We process all our own game, so the machine gets quite a workout. So far, we've had no issues. It cleans easy too which a huge plus.

Now this is Grinder is a must for every home in America, especially if you like grinding your own meat. We bought ours to make our own hamburger from our deer hunting, and making homemade potato sausage. It works wonderful, our 9 year old grandson loves helping us when we use the grinder. It comes with alot of attachments also. So for all of my avid hunters or the housewife that loves to grind their own meat this is a must for you, it grinds potatoes, and onions and I promise you you will have it close at hand like I have mine. After doing so much research we were so excited to finally get our meat grinder! It's definitely going to help stretch our food budget with being able to buy meat in bulk and process our own burger. It's very high quality with a strong motor and a variety of attachments to choose from. The attachments vary from fine to coarse blades along with attachments to make your own sausage and all you need to do is purchase the casings! It took no time at all to grind up the meat to make our own breakfast sausage and all we had to do is add the seasonings to our taste. The grinder is super easy to assemble and take apart. And cleaning was an absolute breeze! Cant wait to see what we will make next!

I've been trying to eat healthier and bring my family on board. It can be expensive, so in an effort to save money while still eating healthy food, we started looking for a meat grinder so we could start to stock our freezer with sales meats that normally cost more if bought already prepped. I did my research for a stainless steel grinder with stainless steel parts. I was investing my hard earned money and didn't want to have to buy all kinds of extra attachments and parts, we also wanted to try making our own sausage so having the attachments to make them included with the grinder was also important. I set out to the store and bought sirloin and boneless ribs to grind up for hamburger and meatballs. I grabbed chicken for stir-fry, tacos, and turkey for burgers. I also grabbed salmon to grind up for burgers and other recipes I had on deck. Then I started grinding.  What I love is that the grinder is super simple to put together, it comes with cutting blades, grinding plates, sausage stuffing tubes, a kubbe attachment and it has 3 speeds. I made meatballs with it last night and added in seasonings before bagging and freezing them. There really is a better taste to the meat when you grind it up yourself vs the store. It didn't take long at all for the grinder to work the meat through and we didn't have any issues with using it or cleaning it after. I plan on using this grinder for a long time, money very well spent!

We have been buying a lot of bulk meats to make out budget stretch further. With buying meats in bulk we wanted a really good meat grinder for the beef, pork and chicken we buy to make it last longer, and be able to get different types of meals out of one piece of meat. This grinder caught our eye initially because of price, and secondly because of all the attachements that come with it. When I looked at this closer I could see that this is made with high quality materials and will hold up to a lot of use. This meat grinder has 3 speeds and comes with 3 Cutting Blades, 3 Grinding Plates, a Kubbe Attachment and Sausage Stuffing Tubes. The only thing we have to purchase is the actual sausage casings. This meat grinder comes with really clear instructions that make it very easy to put together and operate. The machine runs with push buttons on the side that are clearly marked. My husband and I are very impressed with the quality of the grinder and it's attachments for the price point this is at. This grinder and it's attachments do need to be hand washed, but the pieces wash up easily and quickly. This is a compact machine so it's easy to store. We are very impressed and very happy with this electric meat grinder!

Works well over-all. In the instruction manual that comes with the machine it states clearly that it can do "soft-bone" grinding, chicken, rabbit, quail, NOT turkey, etc. However, It did not grind the chicken bone well at all. It constantly was jamming at the grind plate, and I was using the largest wagon wheel size. For a basic meat grinder it is okay, for making raw food not so great.

Granted I do not have domain expertise, I am writing this review with limited experience. I purchased a unit of a different brand, which I was unlucky with. Basically the unit arrived defective, so I did not want to try another one. Seeing this with the high reviews, I gave it a shot. The good: It does the job. I use it mostly to grind meat, and for making kibbe, and seems to work, as long as you feed it slowly, and push only gently. The bad: unlike what is claimed, no parts of this is stainless steel. The grinding plates are steel, but not stainless. In fact each time I use it, I let a bit of meat go through it first, which I throw away (there goes 1 star). Other parts are aluminum. As for the power, obviously it is not 3000watts, much less than that. I find it very disappointing why the actual wattage of this is held back like a secret (and here goes another star) At any rate, if you do not have any heavy duty use for this, it may do the job. I hope this helps you sift through the chaff and know what you are buying.

Plain and simple...it doesn't grind meat. It's spins and grinds as long as you don't put anything in it. But if you put in even one small piece of soft pork into it and the clutch pops and everything stops. I am shocked at how pathetic this product is especially given what great reviews it was given.

Grinds very well. Getting to eat burgers again since the local markets have too much water & fat in pre-ground meat. Quiet for a machine. Easy to use. Cleans up easily. Advise hand drying pieces rather than air drying. Put a bit of already ground meat back into hopper to push through the last piece of steak so it doesn't get stuck - push down with pusher.

Once you start grinding your own meat, you'll never go back. I asked one of the butchers at a decent grocery store in town what meat the ground beef comes from. He answered "either round roast or we put the scraps together" - -yeah, that's why the ground beef often doesn't look great... The only con to this appliance is the dearth of instructions -- but if you check You Tube there are several videos that will explain its use. Pretty straightforward too.

Gear teeth in the gear box got broken off after grinding apples for home wine. That was third time we used the grinder. Please see the picture. Update: The replacement grinder that the seller sent does not even turn on, having buttons sticking in the down position even when Stop button is pressed. There is also sound of a free screw inside when I turn the grinder over.

Since it looks like I am the first customer to leave a review for this product, I thought I would take a little more time with my review and tell you my Pros and Cons on this meat grinder and why I purchased it in the first place. I had been shopping for about 3 months for an electric meat grinder that came with everything all in one "Kit" so I didn't have to buy more additional pieces later for a certain type of meat grinding or sausage stuffing activity. I was also looking for a grinder that had a larger diameter of meat stuffing tunnel (the place where you stuff the meat into) and a larger diameter "hole" of where the meat comes out, but most all of them we looked at were (as we found out) what is considered a smaller size #8 kitchen grinder and not the larger size #12 grinder like this STX Turboforce grinder is. When I saw this advertised on Wal-Mart and read that it was a Size #12 Grinder with ALL of the accessories I wanted, I bought it immediately. I have now been using it for only about 2 weeks and am very happy with it. If it keeps working like it is at this time, I will be quite happy for a very long time as it is exactly what I was looking for. OK...Here's my Pros: 1) The price - Can't Be Beat for all you get with this package. 2) This is a very nice looking grinder and the chrome accents make it look very nice on my kitchen counter. I normally keep it on my counter as I grind meat so often. 3) It's a Size #12 Grinder and not a size #8 - this was very important to me. 4) It came with 3 different sizes of Grinding Plates: a 4mm (right at 1/8"), a 7 mm (right at 1/8") and also what they call a wagon wheel plate for those large sausage grinds. I also use the wagon wheel plate as a spacer for stuffing sausage as this makes sausage stuffing a lot faster and easier. 5) I wanted to make sure I got a grinder with "Stainless Steel" Cutting Blades and this one came with 3 of them. 6) The 3 sausage stuffing tubes and kubbe attachment were exactly the additional parts that I was looking for in a grinder. 7) Very Easy to clean. Just read the instructions carefully on this because you do not want to put any parts of it in the dishwasher. 8) As I said in my title, "Smooth, Quiet and Powerful" and you will find this is very true if you purchase one. 9) Instructions - Well written with many photos on how to assemble the parts for different purposes. Also includes hints on grinding correctly, sausage stuffing and how to clean all of the parts. I also want to mention that my husband and I had a "grinding day" last weekend after we had purchased close to 70 lbs. of chuck roasts. After stripping the meat into 4 to 8 inch long strips and chilling them in the freezer for 15 minutes, it took us less than 30 minutes to grinder ALL of this meat into some great tasting hamburger. I might let you in on a little secret we have for much better tasting hamburger: Add 1 slice of bacon to the mix for every pound that you grind and you will not believe the added taste that this gives to the hamburger when you fix it on your outdoor grill. And last of all...Get This - This product comes with a "3 Year - 100% Guarantee". How many companies trust in their product so much as to give it this long of a guarantee so DON'T buy extended warranty on this product if some outside company offers it to you. I read a lot about these STX people and 99% of all that I have read is nothing but excellent on the quality of their products and service!!! My Cons: None as of yet, but after I use it for another couple of months, I will revise my review if I have any problems with the product, but from what I have read about this grinder from other reviews on other sites, I won't be having any problems with this unit in the future.

Be ready for a lot of mess the first time using it. Some parts, e.g. grinding plates, rust very easily even if the manufacturer instructions are followed. Wouldn't recommend it and if I had time would have returned it. ==================================== Update 11/23/2016 : Separate from the rust issue, the grinder performance also is not for regular home use. A lot of waste remains in the grinder, when you stop it. So, would not recommend it for regular home usage. Had to buy a smaller, less expensive Japanese grinder and am happy with the result, no rusting if you follow the instruction and less waste.

Fat seems to clog up the blade. Could be the user, me LOL..... Couple of moving parts and small learning curve. Watch Youtube is excellent tool to use/learn. Does not do bones, which is a non event to me. Meat should be very cold, not semi frozen as many suggest. Have done Turkey, Tri Tip, Chicken, Pork Shoulder into burgers, sausages, etc. WOW!! FANTASTIC!!! Once learning curve is establish, temp, set up properly, cutting meat to size properly, similar. FAST AND EFFICIENT. Biggest complaint on this product I read before buying was using skins/tubes for sausage make. I simply make sausage patties. Noticable flavor, texture difference in meats I grind. Tri Tip was 79c per lb. Made 5lbs of sausage. Jimmy Dean is about $3 per lb and flavor/meat texture is not comparable to my homemade. Ok, I love Jimmy Dean, the flavors are great LOL. But my sausage was beyond clean flavor, as were the turkey burgers, ham burgers and chicken sausage made so far.....!!! Cleans up easy, fast, no problems.

I use this to make South African style farmers sausage (boerewors). It works very well. The motor doesn't get bogged down and the meat is ground easily and uniformly. I also use it for sausage stuffing. In both cases I use the slow speed setting. Without much experience I could probably grind and stuff over 30 lbs of sausage an hour. However, to do a good job of sausage stuffing you really need to buy the accessory "beaner plate" that does not come with this unit - I had to buy one separately. I'm glad I went with this instead of the KitchenAid grinder attachment. It's also easy to clean.

I Just finished my second season using my STX-3000 meat grinder and I’m very satisfied with it. I’ve used it to grind a couple of hundred of pounds of meat or more, mostly venison. It’s done fine and course grinds, and chewed through tough cuts with plenty of sinew. 4.8 stars as I graded it. There are some more pictures up on my blog of the grinder in action ( sheepdogsurvival.me ) Quality: Outstanding, solid machine, thick aesthetically pleasing polished aluminum grinder body. Heavy duty strong electric motor, thick rubber feet, and easy to clean grinder body. Durability: I’ve ground a good amount of meat and as long as the grinder is setup properly I am confident that it will need no maintenance other than cleaning for thousands of pounds of meat. Capability: Great, it grinds both fine or course grinds easily and makes processing game at home or making your own loose sausage or hamburger a breeze. The only reason I gave this category 4 stars instead of 5 is because the auger does not provide as tight of a seal as other grinders I’ve seen. The auger pressure is not a big deal unless you need that positive pressure to fill sausage casings or meat bags from the actual grinder. In my case I use freezer paper or one day I might upgrade to a vacuum sealer to package meat, either way I don’t need the extra positive pressure to stuff things. Also it is worth noting that the best grinding and auger pressure can be achieved back using COLD meat, the warmer the meat the more the flimsy it is which does not grind as well. Value: Excellent, affordable and worth the investment. Usability: Outstanding, so easy that my five year old does the actual grinding. I cut the meat into roughly 1.5×1.5″ strips and throw them on feed tray and my five year old son takes care of the rest. Company: Outstanding, ordered though Amazon, quick and free shipping with prime.

I thought if I bought a really "good" grinder with "good" reviews I would get a "good grinder"... NOT!!!! I have been grinding small chicken bones to make my own raw cat food for 5 years, and have been using an inexpensive Cabelas grinder. It works great but gets a little drag and so I thought I needed a bigger one. This grinder is a "piece of *&#@". It won't grind small bones, it won't even grind hearts and gizzards! The material just compacts in the tube and all of the liquids are extracted. I have kept using it to give it a fair chance and see if I have been doing something wrong.... NOW I AM DONE! (soooo much product wasted). Have to bite the bullet and get another grinder....

This grinder does great! I ground up approximately 25-30lbs of venison this past season and it never missed a beat. I cut the meat up into 1-3" chunks and quickly figured out that it would be best to cut up ALL the meat at once, and then feed it to this beast. If you don't, you'll have trouble keeping up with it! It's a little loud, but who cares...

I make a lot of different kinds of home made sausage and grind a LOT of meat. I have used a small Oster electric grinder for maybe 20 years and it finally just wore out but still works. I replaced it with this grinder and I like it a lot. It is well made, has a good nylon/ steel thrust bearing and aluminum auger and housing. Several cutting blades and different size plates and it grinds great and fast. More than enough H.P. Love it!

I bought this primarily so that I could make Persian kobideh kebab, which require meat (usually lamb) to be ground a couple of times together with other ingredients. I contemplated the meat grinder attachemnt for a stand mixer, but two things put me off: 1. the reviews of the meat grinder attachement consistently mentioned durability problems, 2. I do not own a stand mixer. After exhaustive research, I chose this item, and it works well for my recipes. I hand wash the various items after use and they clean easily enough. There are quite a few pieces and I keep it in its packaging when not in use, because it is a rarely used item.

I have two reasons for only three stars; first it doesn't grind chicken bones well(have to keep taking apart and clearing out) and secondly there are always meat chunks left even when grinding boneless meat. The positives are it is easy to assemble and pretty simple to use. Important information which is not told prior to purchase is that you can not put parts in dishwasher nor soak. You must wash and dry all parts immediately.

Excellent grinder. I've been getting into charcuterie lately and boy am I glad I purchased this grinder. It is very solid, has a strong motor, and does an excellent job grinding. It grinds the meat so easily that the meat stays cold through the entire process, in fact the grinder is cold as well. It's easy to use and I'm amazed at how much better home ground meats are. My wife and I made some meatloaf using ground pork and lamb. Hands down the best meat loaf ever and I might be crazy, but I think it was due to the fresh grind. I just can't say enough about how good this grinder is and how often I find myself using it. I purchased it about 4 months ago and have no issues with it. Because it feels like commercial grade and has a larger motor, I think this grinder is going to handle anything I throw at it for years to come.

* Keep in mind you can ruin the finish by letting it soak so don't soak this if you want to keep it pretty! I bought this grinder specifically to make raw cat food as my 9 year old cat has been raw fed to prevent UTIs which were chronic and life threatening until we discovered raw feeding. I've recently started preparing for my brother's 1.5 year old cat as well since it's convenient and combined funds makes for more variety. My review is based entirely on ability to produce cat food and I can't attest to the other abilities such as sausage making. I just know it grinds very well! The grinder works great! It tore through 15 pounds of chicken quarters (bones included), 4 pounds of pork chops (deboned), 4 pounds of liver, 2 pounds of sweetbreads, a pound of gizzards, a pound of tripe, a pound of fish, and a 2 pound rabbit with all bones included (be careful with rabbit as it tends to gum up if it's not SUPER cold/basically frozen). All without too much effort. I simply cut all the big chunks of meat into strips that could fit in the machine and let it do it's thing. It was able to handle entire chicken leg bones with the meat on them without any problems and flew through all of the organs and boneless meats. Make sure to use the largest plate to help the grinder not gum up if you put bones through it (or any larger pieces of meat - I used it for all of my grinder as it made it easier). It took longer to cut the meat than it took for the grinder to plow through it but it managed to make 30+ pounds of cat food with only a few completely user error based issues of gumming up. Overall a great grinder for making food for cats (or dogs, ferrets, etc). I can't speak for it's other abilities as I bought it specifically for cat food but I'm sure it'll work great for everything else it claims. Just make sure to use the right sized plates, chill your meat, and cut it into reasonably sized pieces and you're good to go. --- Also, the first two grinders had some cosmetic issues or were missing pieces so I had them returned and a replacement sent out. Replacements shipped the same day hassle free at no extra cost and arrived promptly. Great service from the distributor!

Since there is no real regulation of the manufacture of commercial cat food I couldn't any longer in good conscience feed my felines even the high-end -meaning high-priced- cat food, so I started making it using the Turboforce 3000. Having never used any kind of food grinder before I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this machine was to operate and clean. It easily takes chicken bones as well as the semi-frozen chicken meat. The only drawback occurs when I'm making fish-based food and try to grind fish bones. They are of course much more flexible so the bones get caught up in the grinding mechanism and it has to be cleaned more often. This isn't a big problem, but it does slow the process down. I think I have solved it by using only the fish bones that are bigger and more rigid, such as the vertebra. Anyway, I am very glad to have purchased this machine, although I can't say how long the motor will last since I've only used it about 5 times. The changes in my cat's coats and their enthusiasm at meal time has convinced me it was the right choice. As a vegetarian I probably won't ever use the sausage making accessories, so I can't speak to their usability, but over all I'm very pleased with this grinder.

Takes a bit of getting used to . Bought mainly to make raw dog food . Best if meat is partially frozen. Does only OK with chicken necks which was a bit disappointing because those are a pain to cut up. It seems like it labors too much to grind those so we have started cutting them again ourselves. It does grind other chicken pieces well . Its a nice looking machine and serves its purpose. Its way easier to have ground meat at times rather than chopping every day for four dogs!

Update: It’s 6 years later and I am still as thrilled and thankful for this product today as I was when I first used it. We put it through a lot of work every deer season, ourselves and lending it to a couple close friends for their deer. We have ground an entire mature cow with it in just a few hours, which includes preparing the bone on meat for grinding. I love this appliance and hope they never ever ever stop making them in case mine were to some day fail. I would cry. We purchased this to replace another grinder. The problem we were having with our previous machine had to do with gristle accumulating on the grinding plate & clogging it. Since we primarily do venison, overcoming this obstacle was our main concern. The low price of this model was intimidating, but based on the reviews, we purchased it and hoped for the best. We got what we hoped for, not what we paid for, that is for certain. When I removed the product from the package, I could see that it was a much higher grade of equipment than what we had been using. The feed tube and where the meat comes out was larger, about the diameter of a soda can. It was lighter weight than I expected but looked durable and the buttons felt nice & sturdy. The first time we used it was on an older buck, which are generally tougher and have more gristle than younger deer and does. No worries with this machine, it never bogged down or seemed over-cumbered with the strips, we filled quart freezer bags in less than a minute each. My husband stopped worrying about trying to painstakingly remove the gristly fibers that characterize venison, as they passed through the machine so tremendously well that it made doing so completely unnecessary. We are both smitten and 100% satisfied with it. Well, okay, I'm 99% satisfied. My only disappointment is that it's not dishwasher safe, nor should it be bleached due to discoloration & eventual deterioration under continual use of bleach. I am really into kitchen sanitation, so washing an appliance that has been in contact with raw meat with just soap and water is a little disturbing to me, but it did appear to come clean, and quite easily I should add. I'm also not particularly fond of the fact that the tubes & tray are aluminum, but I can handle that too, in light of the surpassing performance and extraordinarily affordable price tag. I confidently recommend this appliance.

So far so good. I purchased this last week and it arrived two days ago; in the time since I have ground up over 100lbs of elk and 60lbs of deer. I have trimmed the meat from earlier this season and had it all frozen in gallon ziplocs; most of the silver skin was off of it but by no means had I gotten rid of all the gristle. All in all this is a good little grinder; it definitely worked hard to get through the load but as others state I was never waiting for it. It pretty much eats whatever you can stuff into it as fast as you can stuff it. I found that it worked best when I'd let the meat thaw a little bit such that it wasn't completely frozen. I'll probably let my buddies use it to grind up their elk while I'm within the 90day initial warranty period. I really do like the 3-year warranty idea as well. I was skeptical about buying a plastic-geared grinder but I prefer the idea of the gears failing first rather than the motor. This grinder stopped three times on me when I'd really loaded it up with some totally frozen gristly meat and I took it apart and checked all the gearing that night to find that there were no stress marks on any of the gearing at all, so I'm glad about that. Packaging was nice and tight and you can tell that this company gets its satisfaction rating for a reason. I'm glad they're there to stand by their product and am impressed with what it's done so far.

With the multiple heads it's perfect for grinding up chicken thighs and drumsticks for pet food. I've not tried it yet on beef but i bet in makes awesome hamburgers or meatloaf. Grinding 10 lbs of chicken with bones...Chop the big drum stick joints off first and maybe give the machine a little head start by chopping up the thighs and it's perfect. Only clogged twice with bone matter blocking the ports going through 10 lbs ...easy to clean out (have a mallet handy to remove the head) and recover for more grinding...never tripped on overload when using the wagon wheel head before grinding down to hamburger consistency. (When chicken bone is in the grind, don't try to go straight to hamburger consistency, it will clog and trip on overload allot). Best part didn't have to spend $700 bucks for similar performance of my friends grinder he uses for making pet food with bones in.

We just got our new STX INTERNATIONAL STX-3000-TF Turboforce 3-Speed Electric Meat Grinder. This was the first time we used it, and it ROCKS! We've been using the Kitchen Aid grinder attachment for nearly 20 years, and needed to upgrade. We relied heavily on the Amazon reviews in making our decision. We wanted something reliable and that would hold up with heavy use. We ground 50 pounds of meat through it today - 20 # of pork butt, and 30# of beef chuck. This grinder comes with three cutting blades and three grinding plates. We did the coarse and the fine (so 100 lbs total). It literally took only one hour total to do it all (and it took me that long to cut it up and prep it first). It only took 15 minutes to run each of the 20 or 30 pounds through each time. With breaks and prep, clean up etc., we spent about 3.45 hours total, but could have done it in less time if needed. This thing is no toy -- it is a serious machine -- loud and powerful, but worth the $159 we paid. Easy clean up (after grinding) and lots of benefits over the other kitchen aid grinder. It's a monster! Features we like: #1: It stays cold while grinding. We chilled our meat after cutting it into strips, and the grinder stayed cold as well. With continuous grinding for long periods of time, the housing was warm to the touch, but not hot. #2: It is powerful. I cut up large strips of nearly frozen meat about 1"x1"x 8". The meat feeder is offset from where the auger is, so when you drop the meat in, it grabs it and pulls it right down. It bogs down a little, but never missed a beat. It just kept on taking the pieces as I dropped them in. #3: Clean up was OK. It took about 10 minutes (after grinding). We followed the instructions as written, as the parts can become discolored if not treated properly. #4: It is easy to use. We are very familiar with grinding meat, and the instructions were written for ease of understanding, with good tips. Anyone that posted that the machine didn't work, didn't do it right (blade in backwards). #5: 3 cutters, 3 die and 3 sausage stuffers, plus a Kubbe attachment, that we'll have to learn about. There was some history in the instructions, but no recipe. #6: Size. It isn't huge. The body is smaller than my kitchen aid, but the parts for grinding are much larger than the kitchen aid, making it able to work much much faster compared to the kitchen aid. #7: The aluminum parts make the meat go through quickly without getting all stuck, as it does with the plastic kitchen aid. Down sides: #1 We also made sausage. We did a 3# Summer sausage and 3# of snack sticks. The summer sausage went through OK, but the snack sticks took a long time and the meat kind of balled up inside the unit, and didn't process through like it should have. We did not have the meat as cold as when we ground it, so that could have been part of the problem. It could have been the stickiness of the meat due to the cure etc. We'll be contacting the company and looking for more clues to improve the process next time. Slow processing was one of the reasons we didn't do more sausage with the kitchen aid. If you are a serious sausage maker and will be doing more than a few pounds, you may want to look at a stand alone stuffer. #2: The instruction manual is not extensive. We understand what to do, because we have experience. If you are new to grinding and stuffing, you might want to put some dedication into learning about processing meat, buy a book, etc. This may be a little intimidating to someone that has no experience at all (but it is simple to use, so don't be turned off. #3: Cleaning the unit after stuffing sausage was pretty tough. I need to find a good bottle brush and some other utensils to get all of the meat and fat out of the unit when done. It was pretty sticky. It would be nice if the manufacturer would send some cleaning utensils with the unit. #4: It is loud, but we knew that when we bought it. It is powerful, and the noise is expected. The price and quality make up for the noise. If you are only going to do a few pounds of meat here and there, this machine is probably more than you need. If you are going to grind a lot of meat or grind frequently, then this machine should be very useful to you. The components feel high quality, there was thought put into the design, and it can put out a lot of ground meat in a very short period of time. Sausage stuffing? We are not done with that angle and need to see if it is us or the machine that caused it to be so labor intensive. Highly recommend this for the price! I will be buying large cuts of meat with this unit in mind.

I never write reviews, but this machine definately deserves one and the 5 stars I gave it have been earned. This is not a "we bought it last month and really like it", review. We purchased the 1800 watt grinder almost 2 years ago, and use it to grind boneless chicken meat for our household of cats. We normally grind 4, forty pound boxes at time and the meat ranges from thawed to a bit frozen in the middle. This machine, with two people working at it, whips through 160 pounds of meat in about 2 hours, including set up and clean up. We separate it into 2 lb packages, one person grinds and the other weighs the bags and seals them. The sausage making tool works great allowing us to grind the meat straight into a ziplock baggie and the meat tray holds almost perfectly 2lbs of unground meat. Grinding all 160 lbs of meat and we have never had to stop and unclog the machine or in any way stop to deal with any machine issues. All together, in the last two years we have ground over 1200 lbs of meat. No problems, no issues, it is just a plain sweet machine and I would and do recommend it to friends and other Cattery owners. The one and only minor issue, and it really is minor, is the noise level, it is very loud but with so much power and working so well I would not frame that one issue as a complaint at all. While we have never tried using it to grind meat with bones in it, and I have noted in some reviews here that people have commented that it did not work if bones were in the meat. I really find that hard to believe, the meat we grind that is still partially frozen runs through this thing with no problem what so ever.

I bought this grinder primarily for making sausage and couldn't be more pleased with its performance, both grinding meat and stuffing sausage casings. The one comment I'd make is that the Turboforce model doesn't come with a sausage stuffing plate (beaner plate). The seller recommends using the large wagon-wheel grinding plate without the cutting blade when stuffing casings. Their Megaforce model comes with the beaner plate and may be worth considering if you plan to stuff sausage. I made my first several batches of sausage using the wagon-wheel plate to stuff them and it worked fine but I decided to order the beaner plate in order to stuff a bit faster with less danger of mushing the meat. It hasn't arrived yet but I'm certain I'll prefer using the beaner plate for stuffing my sausages. If you get into serious sausage making, you may want to consider buying a dedicated sausage stuffer but the sausage tubes and beaner plate (or even the wagon-wheel grinding plate) will work absolutely fine for small batches.

I LOVE this machine. It is powerful, fast, and easy to use. I can set it up and be grinding in less than a minute, and it comes apart for cleaning just as quickly. It is also very simple to clean. I bought it initially because we bought a hog (pre-slaughter) and I wanted to try my hand at making sausage, but it worked some well for that purpose that I began using it regularly to grind beef and lamb, too. I now watch for chuck, rump and round roast on sale at the market, and buy 10-20 pounds of it at a time. The STX-3000-TF turns it into beautiful, fresh, consistent and very lean ground beef in just a few minutes per pound. The quality of the resulting ground beef is MUCH higher than 95% of what is sold as "ground beef" or "hamburger" in the markets, and I can adjust the fat content exactly how I want it, add spices if desired, and choose a fine or coarse grind. I also have a vacuum sealer, and two pounds of fresh ground meat fit perfectly in a standard quart bag, and keep well for up to six months in our chest freezer.

My hunting partner was much luckier than I was, so we used this grinder on the deer HE took, from large to medium sized ones - we put portions of 4 deer through this processor, with never a hitch. The motor WILL slow down under heavy loads, or tough pieces of meat or gristle, including bacon *ends & pieces* we used for added fat to burger and sausage. We cut the meat up first with the "wagon wheel" cutter, then switched to the 3/8" cutter for second grinding. We are VERY VERY Pleased with this machine. We saved more than the price of this machine, by doing our own, vs. having commercial processors do it. In our area, they charge anywhere from $60 to $100, depending on what you have made up. On occasion, we did have buildup on the cutter blade, from either deer tendon/ligament, or from the cheap bacon fat we used. For the most part, we only removed the major, heavy tendon bits, and just sliced the rest of the meat up across the grain, using the size recommended - 1/2" thick strips. Clean up is easy, with all parts easily cleaned of meat scrap. We kept the individual cutter blades and wheels in sets, separated in plastic bags and oiled after each use with food-grade vegetable oil. I would be happy with this machine, for even a higher price, but am most pleased that it cost what it did !!

Did a little research and found this grinder. It had really great reviews (4.5 stars with over 350 reviews!). My last grinder crapped out while I still had 25 lbs of meat to grind! The main drive gear broke. Called the company to see about a replacement gear and they said they could not furnish one due to liability! BS!!! They wanted me to return it, pay $50-70 plus postage!! I told them to shove it and I definitely would not be buying any more of their products (DO NOT BUY OPEN COUNTRY PRODUCTS!!). Put this grinder to the test 30 minutes after it arrived (in less than 2 days!!) I ground through 25 Lbs of venison ground meat, 10 lbs of seasoned venison hamburger and 10 lbs of snack sticks. It handled it all with no problems! It's also quiter than my other machine (DO NOT BUY OPEN COUNTRY PRODUCTS!!) Also, replacement gears are available for this machine!! I would recommend this to anyone!!

I can only use past experiences to explain just how wonderful this Meat Grinder is. I have been using a manual meat grinder for years now and usually just dread using it. Not because it is hard to use, but because it is heavy and is a nightmare to clean (and I mean a nightmare). I would usually lug the manual grinder out of the drawer, put it all together, clamp it down to the counter, practically freeze the meat to try to get a good grind and then spend another 30 minutes or longer cleaning and oiling it when done. NOT ANYMORE!!! The STX 3000 TF is awesome! I used it the first time today to grind 5 lbs of Chuck Roast for Chili. I first cut the roast into about 1" X 2" strips (give or take) and used the "Windmill" blade to chop it once, then I used the fine blade to make hamburger. (Double Grind see my picture above). I did not have to practically freeze the meat (it was at refrigerator temperature) and the end result was hamburger that looked as good (if not better) than the stuff you get at the Butcher Shop. I did this in about 30 minutes or so. Then, it took me about 15 minutes to clean the unit. Because this grinder actually empties pretty much the entire grinding tube there was little left to scrape out and throw away like my hand grinder (I usually could count on wasting about 8 oz of product whenever I used it). The STX 3000 bogged down just a little bit when I got a little bold and put a larger chunk of roast in, but it never once overheated. I am so looking forward to making other things with this grinder! It is well worth the money for home use and I expect it to last for many years. What a great product!

We just butchered our first pig - well 3 pigs and used this to grind up meat for sausage. It works great! We didn't use the sausage stuffer attachment because this was our first time and we were processing so much meat and just did it for patties but it turned out great. We used the medium blade set first but switched to using the coarse and then regrinding it with the fine blades with the next pig and liked the texture better. Just make sure not to let the blades sit in water or they will rust, we stored ours with a little olive oil on it to keep them from rusting. Update!! This grinder is amazing. We have used it for 3 1/2 years and have processed many animals with it: 8 pigs, 4 sheep, an elk and deer and recently a large steer. It runs just as well as the day we bought it! Worth every little penny!

I purchased the STX Turboforce 3000 series grinder to begin my adventures in sausage making. First off, let me say I am very pleased with how quickly the item arrived (6 days before promised date!), and the condition of the item from shipping. The instruction manual that came with the grinder is very clear and concise. It is a MUST read before use, especially if you are new to this stuff like I am. Follow the washing instructions to the letter! Also I think it's important to note that you should wash the grinding plates immediately after use. I left mine out for about an hour prior to washing and oxidation had already started. Silly me to think I could take a break after stuffing prior to cleanup. The grinder works like a charm. It is easy to assemble, and it's very easy to change the grinder plates. I personally liked the pictures that came in the manual to help me put everything in properly. We ground about 12 lb of pork shoulder without any issues. Some sinew was wrapped around the auger at the end, but it did not detract from the performance of the grinder during the operation. The meat came out with a consistent grind and texture. I debated buying a stuffer before this trial run. I thought I would give the grinder a try at it and see how it worked...BIG mistake. While it does stuff sausages, and admittedly it does stuff them well, let me warn you. You will receive quite a workout stuffing the meat through the auger tube. My buddy and I are both in pretty good shape and we got a good tricep workout pushing 10 lb of meat through this. Clean up - other than the previously mentioned mistake I made, cleanup wasn't too terrible on this unit. It comes apart easily. There are several areas that can be difficult to clean. The corner of the "horn" where the auger meets the hole coming in from the top - I spent some time making sure all the meat got out of there. Also, some of the meat made its way into the thread of the tightening piece that holds the grinder plate on it. Next time I might use a toothbrush to help with some of those areas. I like the attachments that come with the unit and am anxious to make some kibbeh - used to eat it a lot in the Dominican Republic when I lived there. Also I appreciate that it comes with three blades. In all this is a great unit. It is somewhat noisy, but not an issue considering it's grinding meat. I don't expect it to be whisper quiet. My only issues would be with the cleanup (would be nice to be able to detach that top tube from the horn) and the effort required to stuff. If you're planning on stuffing more than 3 lb of sausage at a time, get a stuffer.

I had bought a Heavy Duty Grinder #8 which I tried to use with a Patty Maker I have. Well it worked but SLOOOW and motor did get hot. Now this is with pre-ground chilled hamburger and using the sausage stuffer plate. I saw this unit (read the great reviews) and it didn't cost a lot more than the #8 by another company. When I got this one it was a lot quieter, ground meat twice as fast, didn't get hot, and ran the Patty Stuffer flawless. I now believe all those positive reviews. It is well made, and fit and finish is great. Extra grinding blades are a plus too. Just remember to wash the polished Aluminum parts in warm water with soap by hand (but that would be normal with any aluminum polished parts on grinders). Today to me Customer Service is important, since many companies forget who you are once you buy. So often getting parts is a problem. Not here though. I wanted a Beaner Plate for this unit so called James Seko. One of the nicest people I've ever dealt with and that Beaner Plate was sitting in my hand two days later. Would I recommend this unit for home use? YOU BET, and ahead of a lot of grinders costing much more.

Im a dog lover, I feed my English Bulldog raw food, I constantly have to cut up chicken or pork, I got tired of using a butcher knife so i ordered this, at first i worried it would be complicated to put together for the first time, boy was i wrong, everything was already pretty much assembled, just plug & play! It grinds through chicken/chicken bone like no other, at time it will get clogged and ill have to disassemble it and get all the chicken out of the way but its not a huge deal, it works better if your food is at a certain temperature or partially frozen. I highly recommend this meat grinder to anyone looking for a simple/ fair price grinder that works above average :)

Bought it to grind meat for in-home use. Nice piece of equipment. Has all the cutters you need and is VERY powerful. I can't even imagine needing the high speed setting. The entire device appears to be very sturdy. I have used it 6 times. I always update these reviews over time so stay tuned... 12/2012 Just did a marathon sausage making session with my wonderful wife. Three passes with 40 pounds of pork and beef. We ground together, course, then ground fine, then used the sausage casing horn to stuff the sausages. Wife, who was working very hard, wore out. The device did not. For both of us this was 4 hours of intense grinding. We ground at low and high speed. The sausage casings filled nicely into tumescent lengths...just the right size. Wife twisted the sausage as I pinched the length that we both could be satisfied with. Guys and girls, if making sausage together doesn't get your pulse pounding, you need to see your doctor.

For me and for my wife, cooking is a kind of a hobby. Before buying a meat grinder, we analyzed several models. The first conclusion: the most important feature of a meat grinder is the motor power. This STX has a powerful 1,800 watts motor, more than enough to do all of the duties of a home kitchen (and maybe even of a small restaurant). Other meat grinders with smaller motors, such as 500W or 800W, will not fit for heavy duty (10 or more pounds at once), nor will be able to deal with some kinds of meat. After some research, we ordered it from Amazon. The delivery time was as promised. The machine was very well packed in a so protective box. Our first test of the product revealed that we made the right choice. Some points to highlight: 1. Most parts are polished aluminum. So easy for cleaning, very nice appearance; 2. The finishing is careful at every detail. It is clearly a good quality product; 3. It works wonderfully. The powerful motor is far more than enough for regular meat; 4. The ground meat texture results very similar to that from a supermarket grinder. I've seen other home meat grinders that produced a kind of a paste. This one, however, preserves the texture as it should be: perfect for hamburgers, tartar beef and so on; 5. It is so easy to assemble/disassemble and to operate. Impossible to mistake; 6. Despite we didn't use it yet, the sausage kit will be very helpful. In short, this is a 5 stars product, no doubts about that. But we had a problem: the aluminum parts are NOT dishwasher safe. We didn't notice that, and what went to the dishwasher was damaged: the shining was gone and those parts became some rough to touch. So, I contacted the seller (The Mercantile Station) and asked them the price of the replacing parts, since I would buy them. What a pleasant surprise: they promptly sent me an email asking for my address, and they kindly offered to send the parts for free (despite, I must stress, the damage was caused by me). What an elegant attitude! So, would Amazon allow it, the seller would deserve SIX stars. IMPORTANT NOTE: a few months after we bought our STX, the motor was improved to 2,000 watts, i.e, an increase of about 11%. I'd guess that, with this new and more powerful motor, the machine will able to perform an even heavier duty. My one is still working so fine, no complaints at all. AN ADDITIONAL NOTE AFTER ALMOST 2 YEARS OF USE: the machine is still perfect, as when it was new. No problems at all. I am really impressed with the superior quality. A great deal!
