We bot this because it was half the price of an instapot. Well you get what you pay for. After waiting an hour for it to heat up a pot of soup I went out and not the real thing. We than did a side by side comparison. The instapot quickly heated up the soup and cooked it in 20 minutes. The crockpot never got to temp. We even tried just a few cups of water and steam setting. Nothing. We noticed to the power cord is much lighter (lower gage) and wonder it that speaks to the element. Anyway it's going back. Too bad as for the price I would have liked it. Maybe we just got a defective unit.
