I can't believe that such an expensive crack pot would crack. We did not drop it or abuse it and I used it less than 12 times over its life. (which was only 3 or 4 years tops). The black cearamic insert has more than 2 hairline cracks in it. Unbelievable! At first, I thought it was stuck on food, but after rubbing it with my finger during washing, I realized it was a crack and that I could trace it from the bottom of the insert to the top lip. I won't use it anymore for fear of the entire insert cracking. This last time I noticed there were food stains under the insert and wondered how that happened - now I know.

Like others, the insert has cracked making a mess in the kitchen (countertop, drawers, floor). I have had this longer than most but I probably do not use it as much as other so the insert lasted longer. When it works, it works great but I am not going to risk having to go through that clean up again. Very disappointed considering the money spent. After reading that other have this same issue, I will not buy another one or even attempt to replace. There is only one spot for this slow cooker....the trash.

I bought the first one about 12 years ago. We learned after about 8 years that if the stove is too hot, the result is the insert surface bubbled and peeled. We bought a new insert.
Last year on year 12, it stopped holding the temperature I set it for. It would continue heating but at a very low temperature. After fall of if that, we bought a new one and kept the old insert which I am using with the new slow cooker

This is my second All Clad Slow Cooker after Williams Sonoma so kindly replaced the first defective one. But alas, I have the same problems with the replacement, leading me to believe that this product is defectively designed. The digital interface is now not even perceptible, thus rendering the product useless because you cannot confirm the temperature nor the time of the settings. The non-stick lining oddly bubbles up and has odd rough convex dents protruding--very odd and discomforting.

Like pretty much everyone else on here said, I've only used plastic utensils on this but the inside surface of the liner is peeling. If someone actually monitors these reviews, can you please comment on whether an improved version is or will be available?

I don't use the slow cooker all that often, but leave it on top of the refrigerator so I have easy access to it. I used it about three months ago and it worked fine. Pulled it out for St. Patty's Day and it was completely dead. I am surprised at how poorly made this expensive All-Clad slow cooker is. I have a CrockPot that still works that was purchased 25 years ago. This one lasted less than 3. Clearly by the reviews and my own experience, I would NOT suggest purchasing!

I bought this product years ago. After a couple of uses the non-stick coating started to come off. An on-line retailer that I bought it from replaced the whole cooker but the replacement did the same. After years of sitting on the shelf I called All-Clad before throwing it away and they replaced the aluminum insert, free of charge, with a better non-stick coating. I've used it 6 times since then and now it won't heat. In all the years that I've owned this cooker I've used it less than 20 times. Junk!

I'm so sad! This was the best slow cooker ever! Sadly, the ceramic insert cracked yesterday while cooking and raw chicken and uncooked chili went all over my counter, bottom cabinets, between the cabinets/stove, and all on our hardwood floor!! This mess was no joke!! I'm NOT pleased that there is no warranty replacement option for another insert....or at least a nice discount or coupon for another insert (we were a month over the two year “warrantyâ€).

I have had the same issues with the liner bubbling. When it starts to peel, the teflon material (or whatever it is) goes in to the food. This cannot be healthy to ingest. Terrible product.
