I’m a huge fan of hot pot style food and this was perfect for something at home. I didn’t expect it to be big and it’s actually pretty big. Easy to clean and heats up really quick. Just remember the pot in the middle is what heats and boils first to heat the outer layer later but it only takes not even 10 minutes for everything to be hot! Worth the cost for me I’m very pleased with this!

The pot is big enough to serve 6 -8. It heats up quickly, but the middle section heats up more than the outer section. Keep that in mind because the middle ring is smaller and accommodates less food. it will cook much more quickly than the food in the outer ring. Overall, we were very pleased with the purchase and would do it again.

I have another hotpot that is made for an electric stovetop or gas stove that is basically the same idea: there is a central well and an outer ring that allows you to have two different broths at the same time. The other one I have the central well is narrower at the bottom, such that the energy that goes into the central well is less. In this one, the bottom area of the central well is the same diameter as the top rim, meaning that a large fraction of the heating power goes into the central well. As a result, the center well needed to be replenished much more often than the outer ring. We'll have to see if I get used to that. I put the spicy broth in the outer ring and the mild broth in the center. However, it is possible that if I put the spicy broth ( which is much oilier) in the middle, it might reduce evaporation there. The gauge of the metal is pretty thin. The upper part (excluding the lid and the heater base) weights 657 grams, while my other stovetop one of similar size weights just short of 1 kilogram. However, the dining experience did not seem to be adversely affected by the thin gauge. It was not too noisy (as some thin pans are), and except for the center well drying out much faster, I have no complaints.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars. Heats up quickly, very easy to clean. My only complaint is the design could have beena little better. The outer ring dips down near the inner ring and I always lose food which I find after dumping everything.

This hot pot works well for the most part.
It got up to the temperatures necessary to cook the meat and vegetables.
That being said, the noise was just ridiculous.
Whenever the heat was put to max, there was a constant rattling that just wouldn't stop until we put it back down.
To maintain the temperatures to use this for more than two people, it was necessary to leave it at max.
The rattling was able to be drowned out with a speaker blasting music but that is honestly just ridiculous.
If this was fixed, this would be a great hotpot for the family.

It's just extremely NOISY! Turn on the speaker and hear the noise from the video, this is when it's already boiled and keeping warm. It becomes even more noisy when it's boiling, like 3x or 4x than the sound in video. Our family can barely hear each other in the hot-pot dinner or have to turn the TV voice to extremely high to hear clearly. It might be okay for people who don't care, or have lots of people enjoying together but it's a nightmare if you just want to enjoy a hot-pot dinner with your spouse and your kids at home, quietly.

I was really hoping that this would work but unfortunately it was just a big disappointment. The pot was dented and as you can see from the pics the inner pot leaks. This item will be returned and my search for the perfect hotpot continues.

Omg, I love this hot pot! Heats up quickly, adjustable temp gauge, separate sides don't leak and with its own induction mount its all in one. Easy to use and only put lid on after when leftover broth was cooling . Easy to clean.

LOVE IT. Intuitive to use, and started boiling water quickly. For hot pot, we start at high heat, then medium throughout the meal as we dip in raw meat that is cooked within 1-2 minutes. We put spicy broth in the center and plain on the outside. No food scorched at the bottom, and heating plate distributes heat evenly. Super easy to clean if you do it shortly after the meal. We will be getting a lot of use out of this in the cold season.

I would love if the seller could contact me. First time pulling this out of the box and there is a crack in the metal and it leaks. Spilling soup onto the hotplate. Would be awesome to get a replacement for my damaged product, until then 1 star and a sad family.

The inner pot leaks into the outer pot, our handle was installed upside down (don’t know if this is intentional), and the thickness (thinness) of the metal seems to be a little concerning. Also on the limited warranty, it says they will repair or replace at no charge, but you will have to pay $25 S&H which is pretty high considering the whole thing cost $68.92 (6/27/20)

Used it twice. The first time it melted my power adapter and I thought it was because the adapter may be cheap. Replaced that one and the second adapter melted a little bit at the end. So second time, I plugged it directly in my apartment's outlet and after a while the outlet stopped working.

Easy enough to use, and easy enough to adjust the temperature depending on what you’re eating. My one and only complaint, is that ours started to leak. Not sure really how much intermixed but either way, I noticed it right off the bat. Overall though, happy with the item itself and it has helped make some delicious meals. We can’t wait to use it more and more.

My partner and I are really happy with our hot pot. We've already had a few meals with it this week. It's quiet and keeps a good temperature. I think the quality suits the price. The only issue that should be kept in mind is that the product needs a lot of power. We plugged it in at a point in the house that had a lot of other appliances plugged in and blew a fuse. If it is plugged in by itself though, we had no problems.

My wife is from Sichuan and Chinese New Year is a big deal. I’ve had hot pot all over China in restaurants both famous and fancy, and simple and basic. We bought this Aroma unit just for New Year’s. It’s what we’ve always been searching for. No worries about construction quality. The metal is a solid and confident gauge. It boils really fast! Temps are maintained at any temp easily.
The center portion boils first and does stay very slightly hotter than the outer portion. But this is of no practical consequence or worry. A few reviews complain of liquid seeping from the center to the outer ring—NO PROBLEM! All works perfectly.
We also prefer this to the other popular model it competes with because the outer portion holds about twice as much as the center area. Everyone around the table can reach the outer ring area easily. And, it's not a difficult reach for anyone to reach the centers section if that's where you cook your spicy soup, or a particular type of meat.
Now that we have this beautiful pot, and a new meat slicer, hot pot will be happening all the time at our house!

I am so surprised that the cooker top was installed like the picture and I had to manually uninstall it and install it back.

Use it to make Thai sukiyaki. I read other reviews about the lid breaking when first using, so I made sure not to over tighten the handle on the lid so when it heated the glass wouldn't expand and break. Also wiped down the element with a damp cloth to remove any oils or dirt, haven't had any strange odors. When I use it for just myself I use the middle and put water in the outside ring just so that I don't get any warping or discolouration. I would recommend this highly.

Really like this hot pot ! I never did Chinese hot pot before - and wanted to try doing it. I looked at a number of different types, all seemed too small. This one was able to handle 2quarts in the outer bowl and almost a quart in the small inner bowl. I had sliced beef, chicken & shrimp, Gluten Free potstickers & sweet potato glass noodles. Spinach, grape tomatoes , carrots , and think sliced sweet potato. Next time I’ll also have bokChoy and zucchini. I also had many different dipping sauces. I used bone broths & seasoned with garlic and other spices . After the cooking of all the meats & veggies, and after an hour the broth reduced a bit and it turned out to be an incredible rich beef broth ! For all my husband and I ate it was really a low calorie & healthy meal.

First of all we really like the design of the hotpot. Instead of a half and half setup the inner bowl gives people in a round table better way of dipping their favorite meats/ veggies. The stainless steel is thinner than most hotspots then again this is price well enough anyone who wants to have hotpot can get one. Our previous experience with Aroma products is generally positive and this one is no exception. Having separate bowl and heat plate keeps storage and cleaning super easy. Overall we highly recommend this item and only time will tell if this is indeed durable but so far so good!

After a lot of research I bought this item online thinking it was the best option. Turns out I was very wrong. I gave this as a present to my girlfriend and when we plugged it in and turned it on, ALL the power in the apartment suddenly turned off and it had blown ALL the fuses. At first we thought it could have been a faulty power outlet. So we had an electrician come over and take a look. After changing fuses and disassembling the Aroma Hot Pot, he told us to NEVER use it again because it had been made by amateurs and could potentially be conductive due to the faulty design. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM, IT IS NOT SAFE.

My wife is from Chongqing, China where Hot Pot is a delicious and major tradition. We ordered this item to satiate our desires for Hot Pot because it is absolutely not available in restaurants where we live. When we return from a visit to China, Hot Pot is one of the dining experiences we miss the most. We took a chance on ordering this item, and we are both pleased with the results. This Hot Pot is well built, easy to control, and is a joy in our home. Now we have a little bit of Chongqing's amazing food scene right here! The separate cooking chambers worked well and did not leak. They are great for having both super spicy and non spicy broths going at once. The whole unit is well built and has a sturdy feel. I really wanted to like this product because of the price. We had planned for hotpot for the first time at the house yesterday, so i tested it in the morning first because of the bad reviews I read here. After going over the first time instructions then adding water to the pot I set it below medium. Within a minute it started making extremely high noises like the bad review here that has a video.
While the noise could be ignored persay, the biggest issue is that it started SMOKING. We couldn't tell where from. Seemed to be the internal parts underneath the part. Returning the product today. Also, tested multiple times to see if it was like a first time burn or something... nope. Interestingly enough it heated the water, but i'm not risking an explosion/fire while inhaling smoke and chemical fumes.
As for alternatives, I bit the bullet and purchased the Zojirushi EP-RAC50 locally, as it was too late to get it in time from amazon (30 bucks cheaper). That product heated fast, no noise, wider (though not as deep because of shape ) and felt more durable. Learned my lesson.

I got this hotpot in early Feb and only used it for two times before the lid exploded while we heat up the hotpot in median high. It’s very scary and glasses were all broken! We didn’t do anything against instruction or cover the lid hole.

Ordered this hot pot a day ago after some extensive research on Amazon. I know there are cheaper versions but I really wanted a two compartment hot pot that won't bend or leak as well as heat up evenly.
Just received it and it is beautiful! Stainless steel, 12" pot and holds 5 quarts ! It was packaged carefully and received no dents or scratches however the lid for the pot had the handle screwed on the wrong way. It only took two mins to unscrew (by hand) and fix it properly!
I am going to give the pot a good washing before I use it and wipe down the base with a warm cloth. Also for those asking, there is no recipe book.
I will try to remember to update post after using it to give you guys my thoughts!

I order this one for Hot pot or shabu-shabu. It works fine for 5-6 person. But the outer line of middle pot, food got stuck and bunt easily. And it's hard to wash it as well. If I have a chance to buy again, I would buy the pot without middle separate portion.

We love this! No leaks at all. The only downside to this type is that the center seems to get warmer then the outside, but you just adjust for it. We do spicy in the outside and mild on the inside.
The hot pot does have a bit of a heated plastic smell at first but it went away on the second try. Easy to wash and put away in its box.

Well made stainless steel hot pot. I've used this 4-5 times since purchased, and the product seem to be in solid condition. The inner bowl doesn't leak the soup to the outer is a plus if you're having 2 different soup. I dropped one star due the smell when turn on high, and it smell like burning rubber. I've checked everything after used, and nothing melt/burn.

Got it as a Christmas gift last year. It took quite a long time to heat up and a little more for the water start to boil, especially the outside ring, even though we tried to keep the lid closed. But so far it works and I enjoy hotpot time with my friends and family.

Bought for our daughter for Xmas. She is obsessed with hot pot restuarants, and she wanted to recreate the experience at home. Poured water into the center chamber as a test, and it immediately started leaking into the outer chamber. Negates the idea of having two different flavored sauces - one spicy and one not - in one cooker. The cover holder/knob was also installed upside down. Cheap materials and construction. Do not recommend. Problem is most hot pot setups get similar feedback. Think the best way to go is two burners with two separate pots.
