Does NOT toast evenly, on suggested setting 4, burns one side and not the other. Does the same on the other lower settings. Would not recommend.

It works adequately, but does not toast evenly. It also is poorly designed in that the whole thing gets hot so you cannot move it until it cools. When you first try to use it, you will need to take it outside and turn it to medium and let it run through a cycle, then turn it to high and run it through a few cycles until it stops stinking badly. It smells so bad that even though I immediately unplugged the toaster and using hot pads, took it outside, my house smelled bad for the rest of the day.

Not what I expected. Thought this toaster would be stronger(more durable). The lift when toast is ready is weak and slots are not wide enough for bagels. This toaster is for toast only.

I purchased this toaster 6 months ago and it won't lock down.The handle has to be pushed down by hand while the bread is toasting. Not worth it. Strange how we can amazing thing but can't get a toaster to work.

This 2 slice Black and Decker toaster has a sleek modern design. Also, it has wide slots that adjust to the type of bread that you are toasting. It produces toast that has a uniform crunch on the outside and is soft on the inside. I have always trusted Black and Decker to make good quality toasters and this one does not disappoint. I am so excited that I had the opportunity to review this toaster by Black and Decker. Let me first start off by saying, I use my toaster everyday and needed something that I could use daily, but would also with stand the test of time with how much I use it. I will say this toaster is one of the best I have had. I love the stainless color of it, since it matches my other appliances perfectly. Even if you do not have stainless appliances, this I am sure will look amazing in your kitchen. This toaster Browns my bagels perfectly and cooks my kids waffles without burning them. I really love the look and function of my new Black+Decker Toaster. The sleek stainless steel with black accents and curved retro design immediately drew me to this toaster. My kitchen has a 1950's flare as does this beautiful toaster! This toaster features a convenient, large dial with adjustments from one to seven to achieve the perfect level of brown, it has a convenient, easy clean pull out crumb tray, one touch button for frozen items, a one touch button for cancel, and extra-wide self centering slots. I found that the self centering slots would accommodate my bagel half with ease and the self centering feature allowed them to brown evenly. I noticed that my toast and bagels browned evenly without any toasting stripes. This toaster makes a nice even "tan" with no "tan lines" as I like to call them. Please note that this is not a cool touch toaster and it does get rather warm to the touch with use. I don't find this to be problematic, it's just important to be aware of especially if you have children at home because you might want to supervise them. I received this item, and it works very well. I love the settings on the front to have better control on how long the item toasts for and whether it is frozen or not when you put it in.
