We tried three of these before this one, it is by far the best and at the lowest price to boot. Excellent temp control, within 1f across the full range which is excellent for sous vide. The removable pan is also a big plus, especially for cleaning. Heating time is slow, we have to start with filling it with hot water, and it is not a pressure cooker despite the appearance.

Have been using the sous vide and probe functions, works fantastic for that.

Made steaks, barbacoa, carnitas and corned beef for ruebens with it in sous vide. Runs a degree or so high from what i've seen but easy to account for with the digital single degree thermometer setting.

If you love your slow cooker and wanted to try the Sous Vide cooking this is the slow cooker all in one for you. When my old slow cooker died, i figured i would try the black+decker Digital slow cooker with temperature probe and Sous Vide cooking option. As soon as i got it i tried the Sous Vide feature and was shocked at how easy it was, i purchased 2 pieces of a cheaper steak i made a recipe i found Garlic Herb Butter Steak - I did one in the slow cooker with the Sous vide feature and my husband did the other on the grill (he even marinated it over night) - we both agreed the one i cooked in the slow cooker with the Sous vide feature literally melted in our mouth. I wish i would have done a video when we were cutting it. So today i decided to make for Easter a pan of homemade mac

We have used this slow cooker three times this week already and each time was magic! We have four tiny people and are always bouncing from dance, to soccer, to robotics, to MMA, etc so a slow cooker is a necessity! I love how this one slow cooks, but also that it has the meat probe, and sous vide! We roasted a chicken breast with sous vide, holy amazing! Fairly certain that was Top Chef quality. ;) We cooked a brisket and the temperature probe was so helpful, and tonight we are using it for chicken tacos! I bought this because it was pretty, but I am singing its praises because its amazing! Highly recommend!

I have to say that cooking is my hobby and I have always enjoyed cooking. I cook daily at my house and my family absolutely enjoy eating the different dishes I cook daily for them. The Black & Decker Precision Sous Vide + Temperature Probe 7 Quart Digital Slow Cooker has made cooking so much fun. I have been using this amazing Slow Cooker since last month and this is the only cooker I have been using till now. Using the temperature Probe is so easy with this Slow Cooker. I just set the Set to the desired meat temperature and it gives me the tastiest and juiciest meat as ever and it automatically shifts to keep warm when temperature is reached. I can set the cooking time and program it and it automatically shifts to keep warm when time is up. In addition I can select high, low, or keep warm without even setting a time. The Sous Vide gently bring foods to a precise temperature in a warm water bath using the probe. I have hosted several parties and invited my family, friends and neighbors and have also demonstrated this Precision Sous Vide + Temperature Probe 7 Quart Digital Slow Cooker to them and they found it very useful in their lives. They loves how this Slow Cooker can perform so many functions all in one amazing cooker. I have already recommended the Black & Decker Precision Sous Vide + Temperature Probe 7 Quart Digital Slow Cooker to several of my friends, family and co-workers and several of them purchased and used it already and just love to use it daily, just like the way I do. I received this Black and Decker digital slow-cooker with sous vide capability as a gift to review. When I opened the box, the right side of the cooker was dented, but oh well. It is fully functional and I would recommend it for its versatility and ease of use. I am new to sous vide cooking so I wanted to try this function first. The first thing I noted is that it may take 30 minutes or so for the unit to come up to the correct temperature, so start out with hot water out of your faucet in the beginning. Also, my steak was frozen when I started which, of course, immediately dropped the temperature of the water bath again, so be sure and account for that in your timing. Once the water bath came up to 129 degrees it consistently stayed within 1 degree of the target and the temperature display was very easy to monitor. Also, it has an audible beep to alert you when you have reached the correct temperature or the timer is finished. It took about 30-45 minutes to get the water bath prepared, 2-2 ½ hours cooking time and about 4 minutes to grill the steak when it was done. The results were very impressive. The steak was tender and juicy and cooked to the exact medium-rare that we prefer. I was so happy with this success that I tried chicken breasts the next day. They too came out beautifully. After I cooked them sous vide, I quickly browned the breasts and then made cacciatore sauce to serve over the chicken. I very much recommend this feature of the cooker. Included in the box are two plastic bags for the sous vide, the temperature probe and a stand to arrange your food packages in the water bath. You won't believe how perfectly the meat turns out! I haven't use the slower cooker or temperature probe features yet, but I can say that the cooker is very intuitive to use. The key pad has a time and temperature setting along with buttons to choose which type of cooking you wish to use. The removable crock is substantial and easy to clean. The lid locks in place to keep everything neat and clean. Instructions for the sous vide and the temperature probe are included as well as a recipe guide. Sous Vide is a simple cooking process, the food sits in a constant, low, water bath and slowly cooks, leaving it tender and delicious. Meat and fish cooked sous vide is often not the prettiest because there is no browning, so often instructions will suggest searing the meat after it comes out of the bath. Sous Vide machines tend to be costly, but black and decker has entered the market with a Sous Vide machine that is not only more affordable but also functions as a slow cooker. I like the fact that I can prepare and freeze multiple individual servings. I put them in the unit directly from the freezer, although, it may take longer to cook. Im a very happy customer due to it being a nice quality machine, not lightweight at all. I created a number of dishes the first week trying it out and wasn't disappointed in the meals I cooked.
