Unfortunately the plunger does not plunge! It stops almost 2 inches from bottom of carafe. I returned it.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! The screen on the press does not filter the grounds properly so you end up with a cup of coffee full of grounds. And it wasn't just like a few stray grounds....like half of the grounds you put in there end up not getting filtered out...my cup of coffee was undrinkable. I thought Bodum was a good company; i had a mini glass french press from them that i loved and worked great but it broke so i bought this travel mug press to replace it and i was highly disapointed. It is absolutely useless, do not waste your money!

For this brand I expected so much more. The first one I ordered arrived with the plunder chipped, sent it back. The replacement one didn't have the steel edge at the bottom evenly crimped. I gave up and kept it. (Again for this brand they shouldn't have been defective.) Finally, when I got to use it I was frustrated because somehow coarse coffee grounds do float out from behind the filter. I have tried to trouble shoot this but it keeps happening. Coffee is correctly ground for a french press; water level is correct; I don't move the plunger once it's down; I make sure grounds don't stick to the rim when scooping it in--but still I drink grounds. :( On the flip side, the coffee stays very hot. Oh and you have to add cream and sugar when you add the hot water, weird, but it works. I would order one from another seller, this company may just have a bad batch.

This leaks and does not hold grinds back

The press doesn't work properly. It doesn't keep the loose tea leaves from entering the liquid above the press. When I purchased this online, it appeared that the container was metal, but it was hard plastic. It did not specify. I bought this for someone as a Christmas gift and I also bought one for myself. I was very disappointed in the product quality, particularly since it comes from a well known brand name like Bodum. I am very disappointed and will be returning the two that I bought.
