Bonavita BV1900TS New 8-cup Coffee Brewer with Stainless Steel Lined Thermal Carafe Reviews

The brewer makes great coffee with stable temperature control for brewing. However, I STRONGLY recommend potential buyers to shop elsewhere, for a different product. Within a couple of years, the water reservoir developed 1 to 2-inch cracks on the carafe side of the tank. This is obviously a manufacture defect/design flaw. The manufacturer would not replace the brewer, as it was a few days past warranty. I offered to install the replacement part myself, if they would ship to me; it was very obvious that this was not a user damaged product. They indicated there are no user serviceable parts. They offered to replace the brewer portion at "wholesale" cost, which coincidentally was just a few dollars less than the entire brewer on this site ($82.50), with carafe. I declined, and requested they replace the brewer at no cost, if they are unable to provide parts, but they refused. If you have money to burn, and are willing to buy a $150 disposable coffee pot every year or two, this is a great brewer. If you're looking for a product you can depend on, look elsewhere. I've gone from a fan-boy to an active proponent of avoiding this product in a few days, based upon their customer support. I encourage anyone considering the Bonavita products to be aware of their lack of customer support, and the short-term durability of the brewers. They are not worth the money they cost, if you have to replace them frequently. You could buy five brewers that would last 10 times longer for the same price. Think hard before purchasing this one. I have a hard-time believing the awards, based on the durability - the reviewers must have had a "new" unit.

Infusion feature does not work, light just continues to blink. Carafe does not keep coffee hot. Big disappointment for the price. Walmart won't return.

Very basic coffee pot for the money. You need to screw the top on the carafe to pour water in the unit. If top isn't screwed in, water goes all over the place. I wish the coffe was hotter.

Love it! Only 2 issues preventing me from giving 5 stars: 1. hinge in water tank cover was broken off when I got it 2. lip on inside of carafe retains a tiny amount of water when attempting to empty out (not a biggie, but annoying considering how much thought went into its design).

Unit is not fancy. Like the brew after first few. Like the prebrew functio . Do not like removing brew basket to place svrew on cover. Some complain re. Carafe heat retentio . No problem noted. Highly recommend at present regardless of pric .
