For small gatherings or parties, the Crock-Pot Little Dipper Warmer gently heats dips and sauces to warm temperatures. Whether making your own or serving pre-made foods, it makes prep easy and convenient. Ideal for melting chocolate and caramel, too.

CAN THIS BE USED TO CREATIVELY MELTE WAX?

Although I'm not sure I would, it probably could. To avoid burning or smoking, it would need to be continuously watched because wax melts at a rather high temperature. My main concern then would be cleaning; after that, you could freeze it and peel the wax off. Since I live alone in a 31-foot fifth-wheel travel trailer with a tiny kitchen and limited refrigerator space, I got mine to use for cooking. I really enjoy the outcomes when I cook with it. I have cooked a tiny "pot roast" with veggies, a small amount of vegetable soup, etc. in it numerous times. Things like breakfast casseroles with eggs, sausage, and cheese work great in it.

IS THERE A SWITCH FOR OFF AND ON?

There is no switch to turn it on or off. It is a warner.

ARE YOU ABLE TO MANAGE THE TEMPERATURE?

Does it have a "Low" or "High" control, if that makes sense. Not at all, no. It maintains a constant temperature that falls in between low and high. Food is not burned by it. I frequently use it for cheese dip, and it always maintains the ideal temperature.

WHAT IS THE CROCKPOT'S AMPERAGE?

Although the amperage is not stated on the item itself, it can be determined using Ohm's law, which states that voltage equals current times resistance. I won't go too scientific, but the amperage works out to be.292 amps, or roughly 1/3 amps, based on the measurements on the bottom of the crock pot. The pot's bottom has measurements of 120V and 35 Watts. I'm not sure what you're using it for, but it works fantastically for me as a pickle pot for my jewelry making and would be wonderful for a fondue or dipping pot to keep cheese or chocolate drizzling.

IS THIS CAPABLE OF MAINTAINING POTPOURI WARM AND SMELLING GOOD?

My house now smells AMAZING thanks to the mulling spices and plenty of water! Simply keep an eye on the water level and make sure it's always filled because if the water runs out, the mulling spices will burn.

My Little Dipper came with my Crock Pot. I've had it for years and just decided to use it. Kept my dip warm at Super Bowl party. Started to bubble up at some point. I just unplugged it and dip stayed warm. It came with the plastic lid. Worked great to keep dip covered.

This is great for the first 1/2 hour or so, but then the contents get too hot because there's not an option for a low/warm/off setting. Would be very helpful since the volume begins to diminish but the heat stays the same, making it seem even hotter than it was when still full of dip or whatever. Eager to see an updated version at some point!

This item is exactly as expected from Crock-Pot. Have bought several products of theirs over the years. Never been disappointed. However I am not happy about the misleading advertising about the Little Dipper. I hope it is not an indication of a decline in product quality. Described as having a Glass Lid. Plastic is not glass. Miss leading description, close to Deceptive Advertising. Either include a Glass Lid or remove it from the product description.

I bought 3 for Christmas presents and only gave two of them. Kept one for myself since mine didn't work as well as these.

This little dipper is perfect for prepared single servings. As a widow, I cook large meals. I divide the meals into 8 oz Pyrex custard cups and freeze. When ready to eat, these custard cups are placed upside down on top of crock pot. In approximately three hours, a hot meal is ready to eat.

I am very disappointed in this product. Thought this would be great to serve dips etc. There is no on/off feature and no adjustable temp. You must constantly stir or dip burns on the bottom, which I found out after it burned. Electric cord is so short it would not even reach from buffet to wall outlet right at buffet.. Wasted money.
