In this video I review the Cuisinart WMR-CA waffle maker. It has traditional plates with the smaller squares that make thinner, crispy waffles.

So this is my 4th or 5th try on a waffle iron!
I had to return the last 3-4 because although they stated that they were non stick they didn't pass the test after a few uses.
This waffle iron came today. The stainless steel is nice. The hinge (as others have mentioned) is pretty wobbly but for 20ish dollars I'm not deducting for that as long as it keeps working well!
I made a batch of about 5 waffles today and they ALL came out great.
The iron performed as expected and as stated.
Warm up: QUICK
Cook time: QUICK
Light functionality + doneness: ACCURATE
Finding a proper amount of batter to go in to not make a mess will require a little learning so I can't deduct anything there.
Overall if this waffle iron keeps producing waffles that come out cleanly I'm a HAPPY camper!
For the price I think it works well. Granted this is day one but I believe it's got a 2 yr warranty so should be aok if I have any issues.
If necessary I will come back to amend this.
For now
TWO THUMBS UP!
thanks if u have read this far.

We replaced an larger, old and broken waffle iron and we couldn't be happier. This product is very well made, solidly constructed and exceeds our expectations for speed of heating, even surface temperature and ease of cleaning. Each waffle comes right off the griddle and each one is consistenly cooked from one waffle to the next. Even with 'add ins' such as berries, nuts or other fruits such as a bananas, the waffles cook quickly and evenly and pop right off the griddle. We find it helpful to give a quick spray of canola oil after the griddle is heated. We really like the small size and as noted above, the easy cleanup. This product is a keeper!

I love making waffles, they are my favorite breakfast item. My old waffle iron (an Oster) recently broke, so had to get a new one. There are multiple features of this one that are excellent. The electronics are all on the base, so the top doesn't have to have any cords going through the hinge. The lights are helpful and settings cover a good range of lightly/little browning to dark/lots of browning. The cord wrap and lock is a nice feature as well, since it takes up less space when stored upright.
Only drawback I would say is probably of my own making, so not gonna knock Cuisinart for it, and that is that the waffle grid is smaller than I would like. Prefer the deep and large pockets in the waffles (belgian style?) - but this wasn't advertised as a belgian waffle maker, so again, probably my error. If you are looking for that deep and large pockets, this is not your waffle iron.

I wanted a classic (non Belgian) waffle machine. This one fit the bill. I have used it twice and so far have not had any of the sticking described in other reviews. Some reviewers have said the upper lid is loose or wobbly. It does have some give. I just discarded a 50 year old waffle maker that had the same characteristic but it was never a problem and never fell apart.
This machine has one sliding dial to select doneness. There is also a red light indicating heating and green light when it is ready. It seemed accurate. I like crispy on the outside so I set it between 4 and 5. Waffles turned out perfectly cooked on top and bottom. This machine heats and cooks rapidly. I have not experienced any sticking of the waffle to the iron.
The weakest part of the machine is the slide bar. It works well but seems very loose and flimsy.

That sound you hear is the Angel choir when I finally sat down to golden crisp waffles. I had been craving them for months - not the thick Belgium ones, but the old-fashioned, round, thin crispy ones.
Easy to use, makes delicious waffles. I used a setting between 3-4, and they came out perfect. Later, I made corn waffles with a box of Jiffy mix. I will never make cornbread any other way again. The corn muffin waffles were crisp on the outside and perfectly moist (the only time you can use that word) on the inside. I did use non-stick spray, and resprayed after about 3 uses. I am so looking forward to many more waffle-shaped goodies.

Made great waffles quickly. I had been worried because of other reviews which showed ripped waffles sticking to the plates. I think I know why: the indicator light (which is supposed to turn green when your waffle is ready) is in accurate. Your waffle will stick if the surface is not cooked enough and the indicator light consistently says your waffle is ready too early. The trick is to very gently try to open the waffle iron for a few seconds. If you meet resistance, your waffle is not ready and will rip if you force it open. If the waffle iron opens with a second or two of gentle force, you're good to go.

This is such an awesome waffle iron. It was given to me as a wedding gift and we have loved it. It heats up quickly (in the time it takes me to whip up a batch of homemade waffle batter), cooks evenly and fast. Go easy the first few times till you figure out how much batter it takes. Cleaning out the crevices is a little bit of a pain, but not too bad. Mostly I just hate cleaning up volcanic eruptions. The size is perfect for a couple of people but now my family is bigger I like my larger belgian waffle maker. It seemed I spent all my time at the counter pulling out waffles while my family ate. Anyway, its been almost 8 years and its still going strong!

I've been using this waffle maker for two years and love it! WAY better than my previous waffle maker. I totally agree with previous review - heats fast, cooks fast!

I have been using this waffle maker for 6 years without a hiccup. Quick heating, quick cooking, and easy to use and clean. Cannot be beat. I have tried other Belgian and regular waffle makers and this one is tops and economical! Besides this is the one my kids pick the most!
