I really like the sleek design of the grill. It's expensive looking and has a slim footprint. I'm able to keep it on the counter without it taking up too much room but it's compact enough I can tuck into a cabinet if needed. The grill itself heats up very quickly which is so ideal when I'm making sandwiches for my kiddos. The downside is it gets very hot. It puts off a lot of heat and you have to be extra careful opening and closing the top. The two main downsides are there isn't a lot of flexibility with temperature settings which becomes an issue when trying to grill meat. Also, it doesn't have a good incline so fat and grease just kind of sticks around. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love this Panini press/grill! My husband loves Paninis but we don't want to spend the extra money to have it made from a restaurant. This makes amazing sandwiches among other things! I received this about a week ago and have used it three times already!It's so nice.It has a larg surface area to cook so I was able to make several items at the same time.I made grilled ham and cheese,chicken breasts and even frozen hamburger patties on it.It's so versatile-I love it! As a college student the De'Longhi CGH800 Retro Contact Grill & Panini Maker is a lifesaver when you're on a budget and have limited cooking resources. This is my first Contact grill & Panini maker but so far it turned out to be exactly what I've been looking for. This grill heats fast and cooks food evenly with a adjustable thermostat. Also has a hinge that accommodates food of any size. It's the perfect size for cooking a few things and storing. I do wish the grease tray was a little bigger and connected under the bottom. Have loved using my new panini maker and grill! It cooks food evenly and in a very timely fashion. The cooking surface is large enough to fit multiple pieces of meat or sandwiches and the draining feature for the grease made clean up very easy and straight forward. I love this grill. Its perfect size when not in use I flip it up so it doesn't take up much room. All of my food comes off without the grease drippings but very flavorful. I've made everything from steak and chicken to grilled hot ham and cheese melts on it. It's a breeze to clean and I love that I dont have to go outside to grill something now.
