Somehow when I bought this crockpot I thought it was going to be 10 quarts. I read over things pretty well, and I missed that I was buying a 6 quart crockpot. It is too small and I have had to transfer to other pots which sucks. Even when I type it in the search bar for a 10 quart crockpot, this is one that comes up first. I have used this crockpot. It works great for cleaning it and to cook with it on the stove first. I really do love that feature. I don't like how the handles get so hot when it is on the stove. I also don't care for the shape. Because when I was frying up veggies in it first before making the soup, I did not have a burner that fit this pot very well. It is more rectangle and not a square. Most stove tops the burners are circle. So overall. This crockpot is ok. It was pretty spending for the size for me. I am still really disappointed that it isn't bigger. It also says that it has time settings. So I thought I was going to be able to set it to start cooking 8 hours from now. It does not have that option. It just has how long it will cook for.

There's so much to like about this slow cooker! The cooker itself is a real looker beautifully made with great eye appeal. So easy to use, if you need to sauté onions, celery, mushrooms, or whatever the inner pan can serve as a place to sauté or partially cook your vegetables' or brown meats etc. right in the cooker inner pan and put back into the slow cooker never losing any flavors due to transfer. This is a true slow cooker and foods are never burned or overcooked. The low and hi settings do what they should and the timer and keep warm function works great. I love this slow cooker and use it when ever I find an excuse!

This is an excellent, quality slow cooker. The controls are clearly labeled and pretty much self-explanatory, although it includes a well-thought-out manual with clear instructions. Generous 6-quart pot capacity in a rectangular shape with rounded corners (instead of oval) which gives nice flexibility. Non-stick, cleans up in a snap. Thankfully, there is no lid gasket and the lid fits well. The steam hole in the lid absolutely did not interfere with the operation and serves its purpose well. I have a cooker with a gasket and it absorbs the odors of everything you cook and so far nothing will remove them so I wanted to avoid that. It's not a multi-cooker and that's fine with me...the more loaded with features the more to malfunction. This is a solid, well-built cooker, nothing cheap about it. I made a lasagna the first time I used it and it turned out better than in an oven. I especially like that it includes a Medium setting, not just Low, High, and Keep Warm. The timer has plenty of range and will revert to Keep Warm when time's up unless you choose to easily edit the settings. After having to return three slow-cookers of other brands that all had either display or lid defects, this one was a nice surprise all the way around. Actually, when I saw Amazon's price compared to all other sites ($40 less), I was concerned it was a "second". But no, it's not. First rate all the way. And the manufacturer double-boxes it for excellent protection! That, inside Amazon packaging, should pretty much assure delivery in fine shape.

Tried it twice once with chili for 12 hours on medium, and beans were still crunchy. Had to do an extra 5 hours on high. Second time beef stew for 15 hours on medium and meat was still chewy and vegetables especially carrots were crunchy. Did extra 4 hours on high and still not 100%. Had a cheap Hamilton Beach for 10 years and was perfect. Returning this one. Cover is loose, and no rubber seal, maybe that contributes.

This slow cooker is the way to go. I like that you can separate the insert and brown a roast on the stove, then drop the pan it right into the slow cooker frame. I will NEVER buy a ceramic crock with that "crocky" taste it leaves on your food. I bought the larger size and it easily holds a large roaster chicken. It might be a bit large for two people, but it really doesn't matter. This product is AMAZING.

I have used it 4 times since I purchased in January 2020 but I finally figured out you can only cook on High because otherwise the meat will never get done. I have 3 slow cookers and have never had one that is so disappointing. I wrongly assumed it must be high quality because of the name and price. The removable insert is flimsy. Don't waste your money.

I've owned various slow cookers for the past 42 years. This is by far the best. I will never go back. Well worth the money. You can brown foods on the stove top with the insert. The dials/buttons are clear and easy to use and understand. Clean up is a dream with the non-stick interior. Praises to this company!

My previous cooker was heavy and not really up to the task. This Cooker is light weight and with an aluminum insert, it can be used on the cooktop and then inserted directly into the Cooker with no extra pots or pans. Good looking with easy to read and use digital readouts. Very good handle accessibility to remove. Insert is good enough to put on a table if you have room for it.

Product returned. Does not slow cook with enough heat. Kept a pot roast on low for 9.5 hours and the potatoes and beef were still not done.

I love all the different cooking functions that this multi cooker has. You can use it as a normal slow cooker, but this also has a brown & sauté mode. It also steams, bakes & cooks rice. I made rice in it several times and it turns out amazing & cooked perfect. I love how it looks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This slow cooker works like a charm! The stove top safe pot is very convenient as you can have everything done in the same pot. You can brown your meat and then continue cooking in the slow cooker. It has three heat levels (low, med & high) and a keep warm button. Also, it looks very elegant and it's the perfect size. I love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I must say I love cooking with this. Super easy to set up and use. You can cook a wide range of foods. You can even bake with this and it has 7 options to choose from. To change the time or temp you just turn the right knob left or right. Me and my girlfriend cooked two different types of food. It heats up really fast. And best thing about it is it's easy to clean. I love this and recommend it to anyone who needs a 5 in one cooker. I received this as a promotion [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I absolutely love this appliance. Instructions are incredibly easy to follow. Clean up is a snap with the non stick coating. Love how it's a 5 in 1 and can't wait till I am able to do more meals done. Living in a small apartment you're limited on space so this is a great addition to my kitchen. I have so many new ideas on meals to try with my family. I did rice first as I figured it would be easiest. My boyfriend is picky about how his rice is cooked. We had a rice cooker which we ended up giving away the next day because it didn't compare to this. He loved it and said it was cooked perfect. Now this coming from a chef should say a lot. I highly recommend this cooker, it truly is amazing and a game changer in the kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love this multi cooker so much! The pork steaks I just cooked in it came out delicious. It is so easy to use and has so many cooking settings, it blew my mind! I want to cook everything in it! I also love the sleek look of it; it's a beauty. I love the way it preheats, so helpful. I'm just so excited about this product! It is wonderful! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very well put together and seems very durable. I like how easy and simple it is to program the time and temperature. It is so easy to just put the switch on low, medium, or high. It has a wide varity of timers as well. The size is big enough for a whole chicken even but not too big that it would crowd your kitchen. I love the sleek, shiny exterior and its long design making it easy to store on the counter or away in the cupboard. I love the heavy, glass lid and the small whole it has to vent away extra vapor. My food cooked very well and truly impressed me by its quick and even cooking. I cooked beef ribs on medium and they were extremely tender. I will be using this often! De'Longhi Livenza Programmable Slow cooker with Stovetop-Safe Pots is a product that seriously exceeds my expectations, is a pot super easy to use, very practical, I love that I do not have to worry about the cooking time because I only program it and ready it alone does the work, the programming is very simple and also you can add or remove minutes to the cooking, I love that you can also use the inside of the pot on the stove independently, the food is cooked very well and the meat is juicy, I am already planning a great meal with family and friends thanks to De'Longhi Livenza programmable slow cooker [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So many appliances in the kitchen nowadays, but as long as they are multi-function, I'm happy. So I tossed out my old Crockpot and there's a well-loved Instant Pot in its spot. So where would this beauty fit in? Well, the stovetop feature is my favorite part!! S0 now I can brown meat beautifully and then slow cook all day, and dinner is waiting when the workday is done. Instant Pots need a little more babysitting than they let on. Don't get me wrong, I love that, too, but this pot is amazing and it's sitting in a place of honor right next to the IP! I think another great feature is that the inner pot also goes into the dishwasher. It's super easy to clean up. It looks beautiful, works perfectly, and most importantly, makes my life easier.

This is a beautiful appliance with many functions. It looks very impressive and seems well made. We did the Beef Burguigon from the recipe book and it was delicious. Nice to brown and cook in the same pot. Very easy cleanup. Great for baking a roast using the included rack. Love that the temperature readings are easy to see and gives much more info then high, medium and low. We will use the baking feature for holiday meals when there isn't enough space in our oven. The only improvement would be having more recipes in the included booklet and in the official app. We would love more recipes to show off what we can do with it. I was given this product to sample and I am so thrilled with it. It steams veggies, it makes rice, a slow cooker, browning/saute, baking. I have made rice, I have steamed veggies. Both came out great. Cannot wait to use the other three functions. Love this machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I use the slow cooker all the time in the kitchen, and I have multiple appliances. My favorite is the All-Clad slow cooker, so I was curious to see how this would compare. It's incredibly light weight because it doesn't have a ceramic insert -- something that makes a slow cooker feel high quality, but also cracks (I've been through three in 10 years with my All-Clad). Not only does this insert seem more durable (it's aluminum), but you can even put it on the stovetop for prep -- that means it's truly a one-pot cooker. It cooks food nicely at the different temperature settings, and the non-stick surface is really easy to clean. I can't speak to how long it will last, but the controls seem pretty simple, so I'm hoping it will be at least 10 years. Overall, this is a great choice if you want to avoid a heavy ceramic slow cooker.

I had really high hopes for this slow cooker. I have used it once and made cube steak. I started them on medium as it was the first time to use it and after 5 hours it was nowhere near done. Moved it up to high and it took 10 hours. Cube steaks are not thick, so I can't imagine it cooking a roast in under 2 days. Guess I will be going back to Crock Pot.

Umm this croc pot is amazing!! Sleek styling, super easy to use, quick programming (you do not need to be “Sheldon-esque” to program it. It’s deep and holds a large ham or prime rib!! Also does baked beans like a dream too!! My one negative observation is that while it’s fantastic you can use it on the stove top for browning (seriously genius), you can’t use it as a regular roaster for the over because the kid handle would melt. I mean, it’s a croc pot so it shouldn’t need to go in the oven BUT I’m just throwing that out there... you could put the crock in without the lid to finish. I have to say, this appliance is A-1!!

This was the replacement from an old-model slow cooker I received as a wedding present that finally had given up the ghost. Alas, how was I to move onto anything so fancy as this, what with its buttons and crazy cooking suggestions? I fortunately discovered this was a very good slow cooker that functions as well as my old one, but with the perk of programming. I love the trio of potential cooking times, and everything heated well to expected temperature. I love the programming as a working mother. It's attractive, easy to clean, and surprisingly light.

This slow cooker from De'Longhi is so much more versatile than what I've previously used. It's a great size to feed my big family. I can fit a lot in there, even a big roast. I think my favorite feature is the ability to use the pot on the stove so I don't have to use another ]pan to brown meats. It really does make meals a one pot ordeal. There are different heat settings and a timer, which I use frequently. I don't have to be home to turn it off at a certain time and my family can eat when the timer is done, even If I'm not there. The pot has a non stick surface and is easy to clean. It takes up quite a bit of storage space in my cupboard, but I use it often enough to make it worth having.

From my wife Sarah: We're very happy with this slow cooker. Here's why: - This sits on my counter when not in use, and it's very cool looking. This may be the least important thing about it, but it's very sleek and modern in appearance, and since we don't have a lot of cabinet space, the fact that it looks so good is pleasing. - The inside post is aluminum and removable so you can cook with it on the stove top for braising or searing, and then put it back into the slow cooker, which means you only need one pan/pot, and the juices stay in through the entire process adding to the flavor. I've never had a slow cooker that allows this, and it makes this a much better slow cooker than the lower cost ones. - The controls do take reading the directions, but that said, they allow some great control as well. - The pot is non-stick so it's super easy to clean, and cleans well so far. - It's lightweight to lift, which is great since I have a lot of pain and can't lift heavy things. - Once you've reached the end of the high setting you programmed in, you automatically goes to the warm setting, which is very convenient. So I'd definitely recommend this slow cooker. It's more expensive but it's a good product with good quality and more options than the average unit.

TL;DR - expensive but does a fantastic job. Finally a slow cooker that legitimately takes all day (and does it well)! Long Version The three, really critical aspects of this slow cooker are temp control, duration, and that oh-so-great stovetop-safe pot. From a prep perspective, you're supposed to brown your beef but -- let's be honest -- that's another pot to prep and dirty. The ability to do it right in the pot not only makes this about 10x easier but keeps all the brown-bit goodness right where you want it to be. This was worth it on its own and far better than I was expecting. From there, I have tried this on all of its temps. You see, I used to always overcook everything which seemed counter-intuitive. This pot taught me that it's been largely the pot and not me. On low, it takes a good ten hours and could probably go longer if you really wanted it to. It's definitely a low temp and fluid loss (steam) is nominal. I checked on it throughout the day and never noticed a spike, even when I'd remove the top to stir. My Ninja did that...and now that Ninja is on the Marketplace. Medium is what I'd consider other brands' low and high is high (which I don't ever use). In all, this is a fantastic slow cooker that you can trust won't overcook your food if you turn it on when you leave for work. If you end up stuck, it'll turn itself down as its own fail-safe. Cleanup is easy as its nonstick and it's nice to look at. No complaints! I'd definitely recommend this and it's worth the little extra.

The De'Longhi CKS1660D Livenza precision slow cooker, made in China, includes a 6-quart stovetop safe non-stick cookpot. One can sear, braise, or sauté on an electric or gas stovetop, then return the cookpot to the slow cooker. The control panel is easy and intuitive to use, with a dial for low, medium, and high settings, keep warm button, time buttons, start / stop button, and a digital display. I first tried this slow cooker out by making a pot of chili. I started by sautéing onions and then browned ground meat in the cookpot on the electric cooktop. Then I added the remaining ingredients and let the chili simmer. The slow cooker did a good job of keeping moisture in, which is not entirely what I wanted. Good chili needs some evaporation to thicken up. After cooking in the slow cooker, I returned the cookpot to the stove top to thicken the chili. Perhaps this wasn’t the best recipe for testing, but the chili came out good and I was able to see how the slow cooker worked. My older slow cooker has clamps to lock the lid down and seal in the heat. I wonder if this slow cooker would benefit from the same feature. However, this cooker sealed in the heat and kept moisture from quickly evaporating. The De'Longhi CKS1660D Livenza precision slow cooker works well, is easy to use, and is worthy of your consideration. PROS: Versatile functionality 6-quart capacity Automatic keep warm Exclusive recipe app 24-hour programmable timer Simple to use 1-year limited warranty CONS: Cannot use cookpot on induction burners

My first slow cooker had 2 settings: high and low. You put the food in, adjust the setting, and watch your clock. When the setting switch stopped working, I got rid of it. There could be a 4 hour time difference in cooking time between low and high, and I don't have time for that. My 2nd one was super exciting because it was oblong instead of round. It had a large ceramic insert that you could take out to clean, a huge upgrade. It was fairly large but I loved being able to throw everything into it in the morning and have dinner after work. Enter the DeLonghi Livenza programmable slow cooker. So fancy! Sleek looking in brushed stainless steel, I'm loving the upgrades this time around. The cockpot is lightweight and nonstick. It can be used on the stove, so you can brown your meat or caramelize your onions in the pot that will eventually hold all the food. Nice to have a single use pot. I use a slow cooker because I'm busy, so not having to clean up a lot of other pots and pans is a big deal. The shape is rectangular (vs my previous football shape) which seems to conserve space. The cockpot slides easily into the cooker, and the lid fits nicely. Caution, the handles get hot. It is a nicer shape for storage, which is important because of limited space. The control panel is intuitive, beeps when it should, and automatically sets your foot to "keep warm" at the conclusion of cooking. So far I've cooked chili, pork stew, and brisket with excellent results. Tomorrow we 'll be trying cauliflower in cheese sauce. This slow cooker is light years ahead of my first one, and has significant advantages over my second. I'm back to using the slow cooker at least weekly, much to the delight of my starving family. Highly recommended.

This appliance represented quite the leap forward in slow cooker technology. By ditching the heavy ceramic crock and the ambiguous timer mechanism, De'Longhi has brought slow cookers into the twenty-first century. Having limited use of my hands due to arthritis, I truly appreciated the light weight of the cooker, along with the nonstick surfaces that made cleaning up very easy and quick. I also liked that I could use the inner metal vessel on the stove-top; no more dirtying up a pan to sear the pot roast before putting it in the slow cooker! My mother's famous country style steak in gravy always adhered to the inside of the crock-pot, but not in this De'Longhi cooker: even after hours of slow simmering, the dried-on portions of the gravy wiped away easily. The digital timer gave me a feeling of precise control that the old analog controls of a crock-pot did not. The only downside I found was the De'Longhi company, like most small appliance manufacturers, now utilizes Chinese factories to produce its goods. (My last De'Longhi product, a moderately-priced countertop oven purchased in the mid-2000s, was made in Italy.) Oh well, what can you do? I highly recommend this product!

The Good ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 1. Programmable, easy to use & fully functional 1. Add your ingredients, set for 6-8 hours, after work, school dinners ready. 2. Sleek & Intuitively Designed 3. No issues while using 4. No hot spots during heating, very evenly cooked The Bad ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 1. No wifi for remote control, shut off. 1. Very large machine, takes up a lot of space on the counter. Much to heavy to bring out each time. The Bottom Line ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Great machine, if it suits your needs you'll love it!

There are a lot of slow cookers out there for a lot of different prices and features. What sets this one apart is the aluminum rather than ceramic cooking vessel. I'm surprised that there are more of these since it's brilliant. You can sear your food on the stove top easily, it's solid and less brittle yet lighter than traditional ceramic, and cleanup is a breeze. Plus with searing in the same pan you don't lose any of the fond. The rest of the machine looks good and operates well. I'm not sure if I like having the time set be required though and I'm tempted to dock a star for it, but it does keep you from overcooking food on high, but on low I don't mind if the food gets an extra hour until we're ready for it (then again I could just add extra time to begin with). Overall, if you like slow cooking but are annoyed by heavy awkward ceramics and the lack of golden seared food, this is a perfect option. The beef brisket I cooked came out flavorful and with a nice finish thanks to the searing process.

The ability to use the 'pot' on the cooktop to sear meat makes this cooker one of my favorite things to use in the kitchen. It works well, is easy to program / use and easy to clean. After one use we gave our old crockpot/cooker to family members as this was was so much better.

I’m very torn about this slow cooker. On the one hand, it’s good looking, sleek, light and has a good range of options. On the other hand, it doesn’t heat up as well as our older slow cooker. I think the problem lies in the size of the vent hole and the size of the lid. The vent hole is too big so you lose a lot of heat and steam. The lid is slightly small and the pot rim is slightly large so the lid can end up not fully sealing the slow cooker pot. (See picture) I have made the same meals in this slow cooker that I used to make in our old slow cooker and the only way to get them cooked properly and in the same amount of time is to cover the vent hole with tinfoil. If you do that then the slow cooker works perfectly and things stay juicy. With that in mind, the rest of the features are great. The pot can be removed from the slow cooker base and used on the stove (we have an electric stove top and it seared the meat evenly). It can also be placed in the oven. The pot is super light (much lighter than our older slow cooker which is so nice for cleaning and for lifting to serve on the table.) Only warning I have for that is that the handles get just has hot as the rest of the pot so you need to handle with care when taking it out to place it somewhere. Our older slow cooker had a set timer for low, medium or high heat. If you wanted more time than the set timer it was a hassle. This one has a suggested length when the heat setting is selected but then you can use the dial to change the length. All in all I think I’m happy enough to keep this slow cooker. I just have to note which recipes need me to cover the vent hole (like for making pulled pork) and which recipes don’t need a lot of heat and steam (like curries).

So cool that we can take this from the stove top to the slow cooker, for braising meat or browning onions, etc. I hate having to wash multiple dishes when I cook and this is really cool to use. It also looks very attractive on the counter top and is extremely easy to use. I appreciate that it does not have too many complicated controls, just the ones I actually need. Made a roast in this and it was AWESOME.

We've made a couple pot roasts and a stew in this and really like it. The "pot" portion can be removed and placed directly on the stove so you may sear your meat on the outside first, then you put the pot back in the cooker to let it slow cook. We've had really good results with this - our roasts turned out much better than they did with our old slow cooker. We also really like that you can set the cook time and once its finished, it automatically goes to the "keep warm" setting. That's a great feature if you're busy with other things and don't get around to eating until later than you thought you would. Another favorite feature is the non-stick surface. Our old slow cooker hat the traditional ceramic pot and it was always a bear to clean. This is as easy as can be - the ring around the top of whatever you were cooking just washes right off with no scrubbing or scouring pads needed. Overall it's an attractive appliance and will be seeing a lot of use in our kitchen.

I am loving all of my new, small Delonghi appliances! The Livenza Programmable Slow Cooker with Stovetop-Safe Pot is an excellent and useful addition to our kitchen, and one that we keep finding new uses for every couple of days. Some of my favorite features of this slow cooker include: - the size is perfect, not too big and not too small. For example, it fits beef roasts easily, as well as larger chickens (5-6 pounds), and a big enough batch of chili that we can have leftovers. - it is very easy to program, and features “intuitive” controls. It also has low, medium, and high heat settings - this is great because my old model did not have a medium heat setting. In addition, it automatically switches from “cook” to “keep warm”, so your meal is warm and ready when you are. - the cooking pot is very easy to clean, is lighter-weight than other models, and is able to be used on the stovetop if necessary for certain recipes. One downside is that the handles, while making it easy to lift, make it awkward to fit in the sink for washing. - there are many other features and uses for this slow cooker, but these are the ones I have discovered (and loved!) so far. Overall I am very pleased with the Delonghi Livenza Programmable Slow Cooker. The design is simple and easy to use, but can still do exactly what you need. If you are looking for a new slow cooker, or a wonderful gift for a wedding shower, etc., this is definitely a great model to invest in.

I used this twice and I had an unusual problem that I've never had in any other slow cooker before. It cooks my meat perfectly but not the potatoes or vegetables surrounding or with the meat. That being said, going forward, this is a meat cooker for me and my old slow cooker will be for mixtures/stews/etc. I love that it's programmable and has automatic shut off. It's also easy to use. I love how very lightweigh it is!! I also like how easy to clean. There is no burned on food. Everything just slides right off. While I did not use the "stovetop" feature, I like that it does that. I'm not in the habit of browning anything before I slow cook, but some do. I do wish it had a way of programming it to start at a certain time, rather than merely stopping after a certain time.

This is a great slow cooker with a lot of functions. The control panel is clear and intuitive so easy for users to operate. The inner pot is oven safe and stovetop safe, which is a huge plus. You don’t need to transfer your food between different pots. Everything is done in one pot. It does keep food warm without over cooking it as it claims. Additionally, the cleanup is easy and you only have one pot to wash. The price is a bit steep but the quality speaks for itself.

This slow cooker by De’Longhi has been really helpful in getting me through the holidays this year. With family around all the time, I haven’t had the time to make the quality meals I’m accustomed to - this slow cooker has been an awesome solution. Pros: I love how versatile it is, with the crockpot being stovetop-safe. I’m able to start sweating my onions and garlic on the stove, and move it over to the slow cooker when I add the other ingredients. The controls on the front are fairly customizable, and allow you to specify exactly how you want your meal cooked. The removable pot is also ridiculously easy to clean (an important thing to note, since it’s not dishwasher safe). Cons: It’s not the most spacious crock-pot I’ve used, and is actually pretty small. While this works just fine when I cook for my partner and myself, it becomes a bit of a problem when I have a bunch of people I’m preparing a meal for. It also seems perhaps a little low on power as far as slow-cookers go. I find that things I cook in here take longer than I remember them taking in other slow cookers - maybe the heat source isn’t the most powerful? In any case, patience is implied in the name (*slow*cooker), so this really hasn’t been a huge obstacle. All in all I’d definitely recommend it, especially for the low(ish) price.

I love the hard anodized interior pan, it is easy to handle and easy to clean. It has actual handles, so using it and moving it is much easier than the heavy crockery you are used to in a slow cooker. The chrome temperature dial is modern and sleek looking. Three settings; high, low, and keep warm. I also prefer the rounded rectangle shape to the traditional oval. It has a nice timer, shut off option as well with digital readout.

I absolutely love this slow cooker. The versatility of being able to use it on the stove is a plus. The non stick coating is great. Everything slides right off. Cleaning it is soooo easy. No soaking required as with ceramic types. The pan is heavy duty and wonderful at searing and cooking in general. The timer and controls are super easy to set and use and the auto off feature is really nice to have, just in case. The large size is perfect for my large family. My favorite to make in it to save time and prep for me is chicken alfredo. It turns out so good. Everything has turned out so good, to be honest. I gave my old slow cooker away and this one replaced it. I love it.

I had high hopes for this slow cooker. I love that the pot is stovetop safe and nonstick. First time cooking, I made potato soup. I loved that I was able to precook the onions and garlic right there in the pan without having to dirty another dish, then just transfer it to the slow cooker. However, I cooked my potato soup for five hours on low and the potatoes were STILL not tender. They were still hard. I was so upset! Luckily plans were not dashed... I was able to transfer the pan right to the stovetop and boil my soup for 10 minutes and then they were done... that convenience was nice, but it was still very frustrating to think I was coming home to a cooked dinner and have it not be cooked at dinnertime. I still had high hopes... thought maybe the first time was a fluke. Second time, I had a delicious 2 lb pork roast. Started it earlier, around 9 am for a 5 pm finish time (8 hours of cooking time) on low. 4:30 pm came around, checked for doneness... it was still only at 150 degrees in the middle and not at all tender or easy to pull like my other slow cooker produces. And again, it's dinnertime and I have no dinner ready for the family. We had to eat hot dogs instead. I'm not sure if I got a defective unit or if the LOW setting doesn't work well or what, but after two unreliable, incomplete cook times, I'm not sure I can trust this cooker. I'll be going back to my tried and true Crock Pot.

Working mom with a family of 5, crockpot is my bestie! This is a great size! I easily fit a 12lb turkey with plenty of room for veggies The inside is a slightly textured non stick coating, easy to clean (I really prefer it to the ceramic of traditional crocks) Interior liner lifts out and the sturdy easy carry handles make lifting easy Cook temps are accurate There are many options with cook time and temp, great that it will automatically go to “warm” once high/low cook time is complete I’m not new in the kitchen but this wasn’t intuitive for me. I needed to read the manual - my first roast took an extra 4 hours because I set it to medium but didn’t set the time and it defaulted to “keep warm” and didn’t cook, not the fault of the cooker, just what happens when I “assume”:) don’t worry they have a quick guide! The exterior body does get hot just like other cookers

Generously sized crockpot is everything you look for in an upgrade: an easy to read and programmable digital screen, a modern stainless steel exterior and a liner that can also be used on a stove top. This is also big enough to cook a pile of meat! The lower profile and oval shape also makes it easier to store.

For $129 I was expecting greatness. I am pretty disappointed. First off, it's smaller than both my crockpots. I thought it'd be the same size but the outside is bubbled out in appearance. Second, I put potatoes for soup in it on Med and 3 hours later, they were still hard, I set it on high and another hour later, they were still hard. Great, I get to sear my meats in here before cooking but my stove isn't shaped like this and so my burner is too small. If I want to sear something, I'll use my pan, apparently, if I want it to cook like my other crockpots, I'll have to use them as well.

I already had a slow cooker but mine is a bit heavy to lift and operate. I saw this and had to get it to replace it. Out of the box: just need to remove the protective packing materials and wash the removable pot. I like that the removable pot is light enough with nice handles. You can put this pot on the stove to brown your food if you want to. The settings are straightforward: low, medium, high, and warm. Everything is digital. As the food cooks, there is a countdown clock that you can refer to in order to keep an eye on if you want. I used the low setting. It worked fine. My old one had the low setting too high, so food got cooked too fast. Not with this De'Longhi slow cooker. Food came out great and if I needed to keep it warm, I didn't need to worry as it automatically switches to "warm" setting when the time is up. Overall, I am pleased with this slow cooker. Cleaning up was a breeze.

This works very well - seems to cook evenly. We made a stew & it turned out great. I like that it is programmable & very easy to use – nothing complicated about getting this cooking. The insert can go on a stovetop so you can brown your food before slow cooking. The pan is NOT induction capable since it is a coated aluminum. The insert is very easy to clean & lightweight – unlike my old slow cooker that had a very heavy ceramic insert.

i started cooking when i was 5, took culinary arts and did it professionally for almost a decade. everyone i know has been raving about slow cookers for the past few years, but i never used one before. i dont really have use for cooking things while im out of the house, and anything this can cook i can do in a large pot or pan. this is a sharp looking machine on the counter, or wherever you put it. its has nice shiny surfaces and is easy to clean for the most part, with the exception being the knob. the aluminum insert has a non-stick coating which works really well, a solid bottom to evenly distribute heat and a heavy solid feel. the machine itself is quite light compared to the insert. the insert is what sets this apart in my opinion. before braising meat you want to sear the outside first to keep the flavours in and improve taste, and with other slow cookers you would have to do that in a separate pan, which was one of the reasons they never interested me. the controls are pretty basic, almost too basic. i wanted to cook some rice, so i sautéed it on the stove to caramelize the rice grains. the insert can work using 2 burners, but overall i found it was better just to use the large burner. so i added the water brought it to boil, then dropped in in the slow cooker, put it on low but the timer doesnt go below 30min but the rice only needed 20 minutes. the times youre allowed to use are based on the temperature you use, lower temps have longer times, higher temps allow shorter times. i get that they're doing that because you cant cook much on low in 30 minute, and if its on high too long, youre probably burning something, but im the human, i decide how hot and how long something should cook. i just needed to simmer rice for 20 minutes. i thought slow cookers would be good for rice, i was a bit surprised there wasn't a button for it or mention of it in the instructions. it had suggested settings for wild rice casserole. while the settings gave me issues, i guess most other cookers just have a high and low setting, so its probably more customizable than that. i feel i should warn the insert has handles, and they can get really hot if you have it on the stovetop. i feel it should have silicone handles, it can get confusing, as most pots and pans have handles you can grab without getting too hot so i kept finding myself going to grab this with no mitts while it was on the stovetop, but that would have been a mistake or a surprise opportunity to trim my aloe plant. i also dont like that it doesnt give you temperatures for the settings. i know how to cook and how hot and long it should be, but i want to know how that converts to "Hi" and "Low". this machine was really close to losing a star for all the annoying things, but once you get the hang of it im sure its less of a hassle but the big thing that keeps it at top stars is the insert that goes from stovetop to slow cooker saving you from doing extra dishes, or even worse, eating braised meat that wasn't seared first. i wouldn't consider a slow cooker without one. as great of a slow cooker as this is, its not good enough to make me abandon my pot and pan method though, mostly because i dont like redundancy and try to limit my kitchen equipment. i do like how i dont need to use this on my kitchen counter, or in the kitchen at all i can use it on the table and keep my counter space free to cook other things, or if i had roommates i hate i could just make chili in my room or something.

Very light, which I like. I grabbed it with one hand without a problem. It's smaller than it looks, but plenty of room. The timer is convenient and now I don't have to worry about keeping up with time. The timer goes as high as 24hrs and as low at 30min. cooking time. I love this slow cooker, but its main feature is that it has a timer, and if you care about that sort of thing, it's very lightweight.

De'Longhi makes good stuff. Add this one to the list. It is a high end slow cooker, with digital programming, and a stovetop safe feature. This allows you to start your meal on the stovetop (sear, braise sauté, or whatever) and then finish with the convenience of a programmable slow cooker. A great innovation.

I used this slow cooker last yearto make our post-Thanksgiving turkey soup on a cold and snowy day. I used the pot first on top of the stove to lightly sauté the mirepoix (diced carrot, onion and celery) with seasonings before adding the leftover turkey and stock and setting the timer for 5 hours at Medium temperature . After three hours had passed, I upped the temperature to High and reset the timer to two hours. I added ho,emadenoodles with an hour to go, and the soup was perfect. The good thing is that it never actually boiled but cooked, so the stock was not compromised. I must admit that I was concerned when the box arrived. With its well padded package, a secondary box, and a shipping box, the package that arrived was huge. Once I opened all the layers, I found that the cooker itself was a normal size, and I love the removable aluminum pot that can start out on the stove and then be put back into the cooker for a long simmer. This is a wonderful perfect feature to brown and sauté items for soup, pot roast, chili, stew and homemade marinara sauce. The automatic cut off to the Keep Warm status is a great feature for those days you are stuck in traffic on the way home from work and don’t want your dinner to overcook! It really does not Replace my tried and true Crock Pot for all recipes. My chili did well started off on the stove and then on the slow cook function for hours, but even on High temperature, it did not do my bean soup well at all. That recipe does not require a saute of ingredients, and never, even on high, cooked hot enough for the ingredients to merge as they should. After overnight on medium, I reverted to my old Crock Pot and finished the soup. I am new to the De’Longhi brand, but the product registration was simple, and the app for your phone provides recipes to try in this slow cooker. But not all recipes are completely compatible with its somewhat lower temperatures.

I have another slow cooker that manages to have a bake feature (where just the sides are on) and a sear feature (where just the bottom is on). It looks a lot like this - and I eventually upped my review to five stars because I realized just how great it is only after some many uses). This DeLonghi, in contrast, does not have the bake or sear feature, but has the stovetop feature which works better, but requires another component. It's sort of a big tradeoff. I'm not sure which I like better. The other one allows you to cook completely on the spot if you so need to (like if you're taking it to a pot-luck, but picking your meat up on the way or something), but this DeLonghi allows you to - for the most part - cook completely as if you would using a separate pan on your stovetop, saving a dish and letting you use all of the juices without wasting anything. The DeLonghi looks sleeker, is just a tad smaller volume-wise, and costs more. Frankly, I love them both, and it's good to have more than one slow-cooker anyway, so I'm set. Would definitely recommend this, but it's worth knowing what's out there.

This Slow Cooker definitely serves our family needs! First off, I can now braise meat IN the slow cooker pot ON TOP OF the stove element! Once the meat is ready for the full crock pot experience, it's easily transferred into the crock pot base where I can set the start and end time without an archaic separate plug and timer. The handles are quality plastic, so it's easy to move the pot from stove to holder or from holder to table (which also makes it great for pot luck lunches at work!). I like that the pot changes from cook to keep warm mode so our easy meals don't get overcooked. There are 3 settings - low, medium, and high, and the dial appears quality, not flimsy. The timer and start/stop buttons also seem like they will last awhile. I also like the more rectangle shape of the pot, giving the meal a more evenly distributed cooking surface. Overall, it's made dinner time SO much easier and less stressful than normal cooking, or even using our old 1970's crock pot!

Slow Cookers are 'supposed" to be one pot cooking but most are not. In the past, with my other slow cooker, I've had to first get out a frying pan and sear the meat and brown the vegies. Altho my other slow cooker says you can sear meat right in it...the fact is that it doesn't really get hot enough to properly sear. As for browning of veggies like onions, garlic, green peppers etc, you can brown right in it but it takes forever. This Delonghi Slow Cooker allows me to remove the Stovetop-Safe Pot right onto my stove and sear meat properly and brown vegies quickly without adding a frying pan to wash. Time savers are big in this family. In my opinion, this feature is a significant improvement. We tend to eat at different times and it is wonderful to make a good meal and leave it on 'keep warm' for family members to enjoy when they want to. For the holidays, it is awesome in many ways as well. After you have seared your meat and browned your veggies quickly on your stove top, you choose between Low, Medium, High and Keep Warm depending on your recipe. Can be programmed for 24 hours. Although there are 1000s of slow cooker recipes on the internet, this Delonghi model comes with an app with free recipes. Love, too, that I can buy cheaper cuts of meat and end up with scrumptious meals. Great gift idea.

First off Delonghi is an excellent brand name and they make quality coffee makers and other high quality products so I was very excited to try this slow cooker. I am blown away. I have bought cheaper slow cookers in the $50 range but this one is top notch. It is absolutely worth the money. Not only can I start a chili recipe by searing the ground beef in the slow cooker pot on the stove and carmelizing the onions.... But I can finish the recipe in the slow cooker, all in one pot! I used to have so much cleanup but this eliminates that and allows me to focus on other things while my meal finishes up. Fantastic idea for this product. Anything that reduces cleanup and makes a product more versatile for me is worth every penny. Absolutely recommend this item for any person or family for delicious home cooked meals.
