The Model 607 is the perfect solution for home use and it's also ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who want to slice their own game, make homemade beef jerky or slice a wide variety of foods including vegetables, breads and cheese. Its rugged construction features a tilted food carriage for fast and efficient slicing. The food carriage is large and fully retracts to permit slicing of extra-large roasts, hams and other foods. The Model 607 comes equipped with a seven-inch stainless steel blade ideal for slicing a wide variety of foods. Constructed with key components made of cast aluminum and stainless steel, the unit houses a powerful, cool running, high torque motor and features reliable, smooth, gear drive operation. The precision thickness control slices from deli-thin to approximately one-inch thick. It also features an intermittent and continuous on/off switch and special safety button that secures food carriage in a lock position to limit access to blade when unit is not in use. The Model 607 boasts an easy-to-clean design with a removable blade, food carriage, food pusher and food deflector for easy cleaning. Tilted food carriage for fast and efficient slicing.

How simple is cleaning?

It was quite simple for me to clean. Remove the following components: the thickness guide, the food deflector, the food pusher, and the blade (rarely remove this). I put it back together and store it in the box until the next time after it has dried. Maybe 5 - 10 min total.

Amount of amps?

The slicer-related literature I have is silent on amps. However, a grounded 120V 3 prong outlet would be useful. A Slow Blow type fuse is included in the slicer to prevent overheating of the motor. We have used it frequently without seeing any overheating issues.

the backplate is not strong enough so it flexes while cutting so consistent thickness is impossible. Chipping cannot be done.

Sliced ham and turkey breast in minutes to various thicknesses. It was a snap to change the setting. Easy to clean the blade that is removable but the unit itself is a little cumbersome to clean. The suction cups on the bottom held the machine in place firmly while we shaved the ham.

We used this to cut lunch meat, about 30lbs. Some of it was frozen and this slicer cut it, just slowed down our cutting speed. This is a very good slicer for the money, buy it!

Easy to use, easy to clean, good safty features. Does a great job slicing turkey breast and eye round roast for sandwishes so far. I look forward to this being a main tool in my kitchen. I bought it because I'm on a low sodium diet and I needed fresh roasts to avoid the salt and wanted it for lunch meat. Saves money also to slice your own lunch meat.

When I purchase it the question and answer section stated it was alum and stainless. Not true, the base is plastic and is total flimsy, the only thing Stainless steel is the blade. I still gave it a try, and when I try to slice sweet potatoes, the first 4 slice went fine then it blow the fuse. That was enough could not slice one potatoe, clean it up and returning it with the additional blade and two year service contract. Don't need this hassle.

This rating is being given on one use of the product. I cut an onion and lemon to deciide the settings for the thickness I wanted. It cut them from paper thin to about 3/4 in. I didn't go any thicker than that. (could have) I cut a 4 lb block of chedder cheese into 1/2 in strips and then into 1/2 inch blocks. Sliced like butter.
