Great Northern Popcorn (6000) 8-Ounce Antique Style Popcorn Popper Machine with Cart Reviews

If you're anything like me you read reviews. I can't downplay anybody's experience but overall this is a great product. Easy assembly. Direction not so much help, but could figure it out. Popping time is fast. Clean up us very convenient.

Let's begin, the packaging was TERRIBLE!! Wheels were slightly dented so if I roll it it's all over the place. I'm just happy I don't have to roll it to pop popcorn. But more GOOD than Bad because the Machine itself is awesome. Product is GREAT!! It does everything like it's supposed to. Very convenient. I'm glad I didnt buy the 2oz, 4oz, or 6oz . The 8oz was perfect and we bought the Great Northern all in 1 popcorn packs and each pack will produce about 9 to 11 (1 oz bags) of popcorn. Instead of popping bag after bag. Made it easy for my block party and event(s).

This popcorn maker makes great popcorn. Don't follow the directions on the machine. To make theater style popcorn follow these directions. Pour 1/3 cup of the Great Northern butter flavor popcorn oil in a measuring cup. (I use the butter flavored popcorn topping oil.) Add popcorn until it reaches 1 cup. Add 1 teaspoon of Flavacol on top. Heat kettle for 5 minutes with warmer light on. After kettle is heated pour the popcorn mixture into your kettle and turn on the stirrer. Pop your corn. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the machine looks great. It looks great in my theater/ pool room/recreation room basement. The only negative I must mention is that the machine came with poor directions which made it harder to assemble. We had to figure things out

It arrived in great condition, with no dings. If I had one con, it would be the at the nuts that attach to the axle are very shallow. (we received two different sized axles as well, so I think this may be a manufacturing issue that they are trying to resolve. Since they are so shallow, the head on one of them poped off which left the axle end exposed. Not a huge deal though as its the side against the wall. ;) We made our first couple batches of popcorn without any issues and it was delicious! Super easy to clean up as well. We love it!!

The Good: This thing make good popcorn fast and overall looks great. The Bad: We bought the Great northern prepackaged popcorn and it turns out a bit tough, I'm not sure if it is the machine or the corn, next time I will try another brand of popcorn. Also be careful when moving it around, it is very top heavy, if the cart was of decent quality this would be as much of an issue. Lastly the decals of the machine and cart are hard to see, the stock pictures must be manipulated because the unit I have the gold tone decals are so light and lacking detail it makes them difficult to read. So now for the Ugly side of the review: I bought the Roosevelt because it stated it has 40% thicker metal, if this is true the other must be aluminum foil. The metal on the cart is very thin, and the brass finished tin shelf and handle are left pretty sharp due to the stamping process. The cart is very light and overall it may look nice but it is so cheaply made it brings the whole unit down. I filed the edges and painted the imitation chrome pieces with a rubberized paint. Worked well and doesn't look too bad I plan on getting a steel plate and bolting it to the bottom of the cart where the wheels are and make like a shelf but also to increase the weight.

This machine is great and we love it in the media room. The only negative is that there was no instructions included on how to put it all together. So you are on your own with that. It took about an hour. But sure was a pretty site to behold when finished!! Would definitely suggest you get this one!!!!

I picked this machine over a similar model sold by Sams club and Walmart. I paid an additional 88 dollars to get the extra capacity. This is a different brand than they sell. I have experience with that brand in a smaller model. The way they look is where the comparison ends. This machine is taller. Has Glass walls which is very important when it is time to clean. The popper is larger, gets hotter and has the storage shelf on the right end. The wheels are larger and the lower storage space is more than adequate. It is well worth the extra cost to me. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability or maintanence. The old maid catcher is a bonus

This popcorn popper exceeded my expectations. Shipment was quicker than expected, it was very easy to put together, and the machine is very aesthetically pleasing and makes cinema-tasting popcorn every time. In addition, clean-up is quick and easy with the kettle easily removable. Definitely worth every penny.

i love my popcorn machine! it only took me and my husband 30-60 minutes to put together!! it is sooo cool looking, i highly recommend this is the way to go! it got here 5 days before estimated, so it took about 6 days rather than 2 weeks!

The Roosevelt Popper arrived by the estimated delivery date. The shipping box was badly dented and torn. There was no major damage to the popper except for the storage door being bent. When we started assembling the popper we noticed the grove for the power cord was at the bottom of the storage compartment instead of at the top which the product's picture clearly shows. Fortunately my husband was able to fix those two problems. When we tried to contact the customer service department we got an answering system and have yet to be contacted. Those problems aside the popper works great! We use coconut oil, butter flavoring and popcorn salt to make movie theater style popcorn. The 8 oz. kettle will realistically pop about 1 and 1/2 gallons of popcorn for each cup of kernels which is what the directions state to use. It is easy to clean and the heat lamp keeps the popcorn toasty long after it's been popped.
