How good is the Hamilton Beach 33478 Slow Cooker?

Making a meal in the Hamilton Beach 33478 slow cooker at home eliminates the temptation to order take-out, which is frequently less nutritious and more expensive. Slow cookers typically allow for one-step cooking. Placing all of the ingredients in the slow cooker saves time and reduces cleanup. Slow cookers are useful all year long. The aroma of hot soup welcomes you in after a cold winter day. Slow cookers are also great for summer use because they don't heat up the kitchen like an oven does. Slow cookers help tenderize less expensive cuts of meat due to the long, low-temperature cooking.

I have only used it once but the one time I did it worked very well. I have seen other reviews. Some complain that the outside gets hot. I have never had one that doesnt get hot on the outside. Sometimes u get a bad product it happens I havent had any problems with mine. The o ly thing I am not crazy about is there is no medium

I really like the capacity, the locking lid, and the beautiful color. The mini pot is smaller than I'd thought, but I found that it is just right. The metal "frame" feels rather thin compared to my old one. The inside crock is the same as the old ones... heavy ceramic. Yay!

I've used this about 10 times so far. There are a couple of things that bother me about this product. The biggest thing is the lid handle. It's like they glued a cheap, chintzy Easter egg on top of the lid. The handle is round, oval, and has a horizontal seam. Every time I lift up the lid, it feels like it's going to fall apart. The lid handle is not sturdy and it wiggles around. My former Hamilton Beach slow cooker lasted over ten years. I don't see this lid lasting even a fraction as long. Second is the locking mechanism. This feature is a main reason why I decided to purchase this. But it locks in so tight that when I go to release it, it snaps back with such a force that it hurts my fingers when it hits them. My former Hamilton Beach also had a locking mechanism, but it never did this. Third, the cord is super short. I guess this won't be a problem if you sit up right up against the wall. But I set my slow cooker on my center island, and there really isn't enough slack. There's not much room to work with, but using an extension cord is a bit too awkward. That being said, it does work as intended to heat up the food properly. But this product does not deserve five stars for the reasons listed above.

Love everything about this crock pot except base seems a little extra chintzy and came with a small dent. But works fine and looks nice. Love the color

I really love my new slow cooker. I would've given it 5 stars, but the unit seems lighter, less sturdy than my previous crockpots, and the Hamilton beach logo on the front is upside down! But it cooks wonderfully, heats well, and everything comes out deliciou?! It is a nice, large capacity so you end up with lots of yummy leftovers! I would highly recommend it. I only wish the cord was a bit longer!

Pretty nice crockpot....not as well made as some we have had before but it works well..we like the seal on the lid and the mechanism to lock the lid on for travel. The timer is also a nice feature....set it and walk away and it won't over cook the food...

I purchased this specific Hamilton beach crockpot because I cook for my team at work quiet often. I needed a crockpot that could be securely locked while traveling to work. I don't want a mess all over my car. I have used Hamilton Beach crockpots for years. I now own another. The fact that it included the cut little dipping pot was a plus. This crockpot had an unbeatable price. I recently had a huge gathering I made an Italian pot roast for and the snap sides offered safety when transporting to the event. I didn't lose a drop of liquid. My car and my crockpot outside stayed sparkling clean. I love the metallic red coloring of the pot. I just redecorated my kitchen and it matches perfectly.
