Had the 2 slice toaster for many years and decided to get this one because my family has grown. I love the 4 slice openings, the different toast settings, and the removable crumb tray. However, it's hard to clean the chrome and doesn't toast all the way around, even when put on the highest setting. I've noticed when toasting Eggo waffles that one side is not toasted all the way and is a little soggy. I've had to push it back down to toast a little more.

It's a very nice looking toaster which is one of the reasons we purchased it. Unfortunately I have returned it to Walmart due to our dissatisfaction on toasting an english muffin or small bagel. It
doesn't pop up high enough and you have to use a knife or burn your fingers trying to remove the muffin or bagel. We just purchased a four slice toaster, Farberware for a few dollars more and am
satisfied. It lets you push up the handles so one can remove the item without burning your fingers.

Love this product. Had my first one since 2004 and just purchased my second one 2020. The only reason I had to purchase a second one was because someone broke the first one by not using it correctly. Very well made product will last for ever if using correctly.

very disappointed....the left side doesn't work unless you hold it down....then this morning the right edge where the sides come together split open and separated about a 1/4 inch from back to front. I have only had this toaster a week!!!! I threw the box away but I'm still going to complain to Hamilton Beach and get a replacement or a refund!!!!

I love everything about this toaster but the short cord and it being on the right of the toaster and not the back. It toasts really well and even. Bagel are perfect as it toasts one side and just warms the other. Easy to clean trays. The pictures show how it toasts and how it crabs the different sizes of toast.
It doesn't pop up as high as I would like but its okay.

Love the old style design. Overall, I am very pleased with my new toaster. The bagel feature is amazing. Toasts them perfectly every time. Crunchy on one side and chewy on the other. FYI, If you are doing toast and bagels on the same side of the toaster, do the toast first. If you don't, one side of the toast will come out much lighter than the other, due to the fact that only one side of the toasting element heats, when you do bagels, and the element remains hot for awhile. My only complaint is it doesn't seem to heat very hot. Everything needs to be toasted twice, and you need to watch it the second time. I haven't figured out the timing on that one. I am hoping if I adjust the darkness dials right, it will time out right, and not have to be watched so closely, the second time around. Very easy to clean. Sides do get hot, so watch out for little fingers and flammable things on the counter. It does cool down quickly, so that is a plus. I would buy this toaster again.

I ordered this toaster on the internet just recently, and I was extremely happy with the quick delivery of the toaster to my local Walmart store for pick-up. I make a lot of different kinds of breads at home, and I have been looking for a toaster that could handle the larger than average sized slices, and also a toaster that would be efficient and deliver the exact toasting results that I was looking to get. This new Hamilton Beach (4) slice chromed toaster fir the bill exactly. I have been totally satisfied with the looks, the operation, and the finished product coming from this toaster! I sort of wanted a Cuisinart, but it cost much more, and I do not think the Cuisinart could deliver toast that was any better in quality. It will do a variety of toasts, including bagels. I really like this toaster!

I really like the looks of this and I purchased it at a great price, but had to return it because it didn't toast items evenly. When I checked inside during a cycle, I could see that some of the elements were not glowing. I did not reorder since the online price had gone up. My old (8-yr old) Classic still works on the left side, so maybe I'll wait until it's completely konked out!

This is the worst toaster I've ever used. Using normal white bread, set on medium, one side of the toast was burnt while the other side was just warmed. The burnt side wasn't even burnt evenly. It blackend the toast in vertical stripes. This was the case on both sides of the unit and it was worse when attempting to toast a bagel. I promptly returned this toaster and bought another more expensive brand, which does the job.

We looked at quite a few 4 slice toasters and were a bit hesitant to spend the extra $$'s on this model. My advice...spend a few extra bucks and buy THIS model. It has lots of features, is built very solid and should last for years. I especially liked the feature where, once your toast is done, you can lift the handle up to raise the toast some more and remove. No more burnt fingers or trying to "fish" it out with a fork ( VERY DANGEROUS)....
