Mainstays 4 Slice Black Toaster Reviews

The catch that holds the carrier down broke within the first two weeks. I fixed it myself. I won't be buying any other Mainstay appliances.

I read a ton of reviews before buying. Regardless of brand, about 10% are negative but for things like a plastic smell on first use or a cord that is too short. The plastic smell is aleviated by 2 test toastings. The cord IS too short but I can make do. My old toaster was a cheap model from about 12 years ago. This one seems to toast better than that one. I started on 2.5 but then went for another 20 seconds so Id say 2.75-3 might be the right setting for me. This has the feature where you can pull the handle up to get any short toast or whatever but it was not needed for my regular size bread. I am unsure if its wide enough for a hambuger bun or not. I prefer my burgers on bread anyway. I don't eat bagels. I think I got the last one they had in stock nationally although I think there is a similar or same model at a store about 20 minutes away. I had mine shipped with other stuff. For me, sales tax is 4% less on shipped orders so I try to save the 4%. The cord is about 18 inches so it pretty much has to sit right in front of an outlet. The primary reason I bought from walmart is their 90 day return policy. Others are 15-30. While I don't expect an issue, I like being able to take it to a store for a return if needed. This has a 1 year warranty. I think I saw one name brand that had a 2 year warranty but I expect if I have an issue it will be within the first 90 days. Or years later.

It's a toaster. It functions perfectly fine. It has 4 bread slots. People will complain about literally anything. Pathetic.

You get what you pay for! The 2 bread slots are not working. I will return this and never buying this brand again.

purchased at the store. one knob is a little askew, cosmetic only. toasts a little unevenly. however, for the price I can deal with it. as with almost all toasters, it would be nice if they put a contrasting color on the selection knows so you can look and see where it's set instead of having to feel. I'll be marking this with a metallic sharpie as soon as I locate where I put it.

I really like it haven't had toast for years but its no surprise i like walmart and walmart.com also the grocery store THANKS!!

I bought this toaster to replace my other 4 slicer that stopped working after 5 years. I’ve had this toaster for 35 days. This morning, the left side stopped working. The lever won’t stay down. I took it apart

I wish I could give this 0 Stars. I bought this in store to replace a two slice toaster that I've had for 10 years. the second day of using it the second slot broke and I thought okay no big deal I'll just see the other side not even a week later the third slot broke. This toaster is so cheap I realize the price obviously is cheap but spend the extra ten bucks and get a different brand. I of course did not keep my receipt(my fault) so I cannot return this item so I'm just out $17 and no toaster.
