I like this French press as it is versatile, you can make Coffee, Tea and Hot Cocoa .I first started with making hot cocoa and took the recipe suggested in the manual. This recipe calls for mini chocolate chips, powdered sugar, milk, half-and-half and vanilla essence. The full recipe is on page 6 of the manual. The cocoa was delicious, the cocoa attachment mixes frothy hot or cold chocolate drinks, and I added a dollop of cream to finish off the drink. There are best tasting coffee tips in the manual. I followed the directions to make coffee .There is a strainer to prevent the coarsely ground coffee which is suggested as the coffee to use .The brew came out rich and with a delicious aroma. When making tea there are two options to use loose tea or tea bags. This press is great value making three different drinks with a single product. There is no complicated programming or electricity needed. All parts are dishwasher safe. There are many recipes on the Hamilton beach website. I already have an electric percolator and thought that it made really good coffee, but I had heard that French press was the way to go. The coffee was much smoother and tasted even better. I have the Hamilton Beach electric kettle so boiling the water is a breeze. I highly recommend this if you are looking for coffee house flavor at home. I was excited to brew fresh ground coffee with the Hamilton Beach French Press. Although the coffee was good (based on the quality of the ground coffee beans) I was not impressed with the appliance. It was very difficult switching the cocoa blade with the coffee filter. After letting the coffee steep per the instructions, the hot water cooled and the coffee was only lukewarm. Coffee does not remain hot in the unit and therefore is not practical. I expect the same comments with tea and hot cocoa. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This French Press is a game changer. Its large enough for my husband and I to have a couple cups each, without having to make a second pot as I did with the smaller, traditional size french presses. I tried the hot cocoa feature, but instead of cocoa, I used it to froth milk for a cappuccino style coffee. It was a lot less work, and tasted great! This is a great coffee maker. It's my first French Press so I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy it. Well, I've been using it non-stop. It's become my go-to for coffee every day. It is well made and so simple to use. I made coffee with coarse grounds, as recommended, and haven't had any problems with grounds seeping through. The coffee tastes wonderful, strong and robust, just as I like it. Making tea was simple and gave me a delicious cup of tea. I used loose leaves and it was easy and efficient. The cocoa frother is a fun touch, and I like how simple that was to make as well. It's a versatile product that does triple duty for hot drinks, and it comes in a great size so you can make a little or a lot. I've used this press for coffee, loose tea, and I've made cocoa in it using the attachment. It works great every time. The filter manages to catch pretty much all the loose particles in the coffee or tea and the cocoa attachment mixes all the ingredients together nicely. I like that it's also a generous size so that I can make enough brew or cocoa for the whole family if we want. It's also easy to clean, which is always a bonus in my book.

I love it...nice and I have the matching electric tea keatle and am having so much fun making my teas and coffee ☺

While I have not used the cocoa making function yet, I look forward to doing so this winter. I tried it first to make a pot of cold brew for iced coffee and it worked beautifully. Also made a wonderful latte in no time at all. It says it will also work with tea bags or loose tea and I believe it will do a great job on that as well, enough that I will probably ditch my standard electric coffee pot and the iced tea pot.
