I have used counter top ovens before, but replaced my old one with this one. It is a very nice size and bakes well. I love to bake in the summer, but hate to heat up the house by using my oven. This has solved my problem. I can still perfectly bake a loaf of bread, or a half a dozen cookies in this oven. My previous counter top ovens were impossible to use for baking because the interior was so small that the heating elements were too close to the food. The only minor issue I found was with convection mode. Typically when you cook with convection, the temperature should be 25 degrees F lower than if you were using a regular oven. I have found this is not the case and I cook my food at the same temperature. However, I typically only use convection when I am trying to get something crispy. The automatic shut off is a great feature for those of us who tend to forget we are cooking something. I haven't tried to use the temperature prob yet, but I can't imagine having any issue with this because all other features have been wonderful! This is very easy to use and easy to clean. I have not used my regular oven since I got the Professional Digital Countertop Oven and am enjoying the results. I cooked a Cornish game hen with the probe on the convection setting and it cooked perfectly. (I have one of the Hamilton Beach slow cookers with a probe so I was excited to see this on an oven.) I have roasted vegetables and cooked frozen prepared foods with excellent results. Bagels and toast turn out great as well. It doesn't seem to heat the kitchen up as much as the regular oven, which is a nice bonus. The only thing I that I would change is that the timer counts down while preheating, so you have to adjust it when you put the food in. This oven is wonderful and it will be put to good use. First look, it is a gorgeous appliance. It was a lot bigger than I expected especially for my little apartment but I am making it work because I know I will be using it a lot. I am pleased with the construction, it is solid. It has a large interior space, big enough to contain casserole dishes as well as pizzas. The included pans and trays are of solid build and not flimsy. The exterior is all stainless steel so it's easily cleaned. The outside surfaces tend to get very hot. Surprisingly the door handle stays nice and cool. Preheated very quickly and beeps to let you know it is at the desired temperature Fits a 9x13 baking pan without handles…so roomy It will be perfect for cooking in the summer when you don't want to heat up the regular oven. This toaster oven REALLY fits 6 large slices of bread. The digital display is easy to use. It is definitely large enough to fit a whole chicken or pizza, while still fitting easily on my kitchen counter. The Hamilton Beach Professional Digital Countertop Oven has 7 settings with a easy to read digital LCD screen. The 7 settings are Preheat, Keep Warm, Broil, Bake, Convection, Toast & Bagel. The oven comes equipped with a oven rack, broil rack, baking pan, slide-out/drip tray, temperature probe & a storage tray for the probe. The temperature/shade button is used to adjust temperature or shade for toast or bagel. The time/slice button is used to adjust cook time or number of slices. The digital read out screen display will toggle between the oven's actual temperature, the temperature it's set on & will chime when the desired temperature is reached. The probe is a plus with this digital countertop oven. You are able to see when the food is cooked to the desired internal temperature & it has the auto shutoff feature. The countertop oven has 3 slots you are able to choose which position to cook on. I baked a 6-lb whole chicken in my new Hamilton Beach Professional Digital Countertop Oven but I made sure it wasn't touching the sides of the oven & I selected the Convection mode & decreased the cooking temperature 25 degrees following the directions of using this feature. My chicken cooked all the way through & browned beautifully. I did use the broil mode to toast 2 slices of bread but it took a little too long for the bread to brown this way so I would suggest using the toast mode. I also like that you have the option to use the timer with auto shutoff or the stay on function that allows the oven to stay on up to 4 hrs & automatically shuts off, you must press the minus button just past 1 for this. Since receiving the Hamilton Beach Professional Digital Countertop Oven I have used it to cook many different items such as frozen chicken strips, mozzarella bites, cresent rolls, brownies, homemade biscuits & the whole chicken, everything cooked just as it should & I didn't have to heat up my kitchen by turning on my kitchen stove's oven. I will tell you this be careful the countertop oven gets very hot on the outside. Make sure it has plenty of air flow around it too. I am very happy & satisfied with the Hamilton Beach Professional Digital Countertop Oven the only thing that I can think of that would be a great addition is a light on the inside as to check the food cooking without having to open the oven door but other than that I would highly recommend this Hamilton Beach product to anyone wanting the perfect Countertop Oven. This professional oven does everything! My favorite feature is the temperature probe. You can rest assured a chicken will be cooked to perfection! Nonstick interior makes it so easy to clean! 7 settings on dial allows you to get great results everytime. Cakes come out moist, top of bread bakes crisp with moist inside texture. Left over pizza was reheated and was as good as the day before. Bagels and toast settings give you the results you want. Steaks were done on broiler with excellent results! The Hamilton Beach professional toaster oven model 31240 heats up fast and cooks food evenly. The overall look of the oven is beautiful. All stainless steel, is gorgeous. Size is nice as sits on the counter and doesn't take up much space. Button are large and easy to read. The pan comes with it so I just add my parchment paper and easy clean up. The built in probe is a great feature, the probe has as digital read out on the outside so you can see the internal temperature of your meat as it as cooking so never overdone or under cooked. Easy to use and it's nice that it has a storage compartment so I am not searching for it in my gadget drawer. This will be perfect in the summer so I don't have to heat up my whole house with my regular oven for a few chicken nuggets for my son. I don't like that there is not a specific on/off button. The Hamilton Beach Professional Digital Countertop Oven will save energy versus using the "big oven" for just the two of us. We love the versatility this oven has to offer. My husband loves his bagels each morning. This oven toasts the top only with warming the underside of the bagel perfectly. Life-changing! Easy to operate. This is not just a toaster but a multi use appliance for baking, seering, broiling and warming to crisp perfection unlike a microwave. The convection feature is a huge time-saving bonus as well. I love my new oven. It does as much or more than my large stove, and it does not heat up my kitchen. I am a window so I am always cooking small amounts of things in the BIG oven, this is a GEM for me. I cooked a pie in it which came out perfect, I did my toast and bacon in it this morning. I will be cooking many, many, more things in it in the future. I have not tried out roasting a chicken yet, waiting to have company. (only buy whole chicken when company is coming). This is a wonderful product. Simply dial to how you want to cook, adjust temp and time by pushing plus or minus, and press start (see photo). Easy, convenient, simple, and quick. First day of use, we baked (see photo), bageled, toasted, and reheated. Loved that the reheated pieces of pizza were as if they came out of the oven originally! My 19 yo daughter said to get rid of the microwave and toaster because this oven will be all she ever uses! You won't be disappointed!
