Had this for a few years, but have to relearn this issue every time. While most people know you have to twist the bowl onto the base, you also have to have the top on correctly to fully defeat the safety mechanism. To most it doesn’t make sense because it is just a plastic top, but there is a catch. A tab on the top must slide into the handle to full extend the tab on the bottom into the safety mechanism. It would be a much better design if they offset the top catches so you couldn’t put it on backwards, or put a tab on both sides.

This was a gift and the best! It is easy to assemble, although you do have to ensure that you have all the pieces clicked in tight or you might think it isn't working. I was able to easily assemble ingredients to make bread. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Really missed having a food processor making pie dough for thanksgiving. Now I can make dough and so much more. I really like having the dual bowl. Haven't tried the dough blade yet; whole grain bread dough can be hard on a machine. Clean up is easy - the parts fit into the dishwasher easily. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have had a kitchen food processor for thirty years and loved it, however the blade for the large container wore out. So went shopping for a new model. I looked at other models and said no thanks I will stay with what I know is reliable. And purchased the same model kitchen aid and I am a very happy person in my kitchen. I have had my Food Processor for two years and love it for my canning and for chopping many foods. I have recently noticed that the cover has food caught within the cover chamber. I am careful when cleaning and washing this but notice that water collects in this chamber also. This appears very unsanitary and I am concerned about the use of the processor now when preparing food. There appears to be no way to remove the part to clean. Help! How can I get this out of the cover? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love all of my Kitchen Aid products with the exception of my food processor. I have had this for about a year and hand wash with meticulous care of of watching that food particles do not enter the chamber where the top insert with metal that activates the lock because it can get into and not able to get out easily. I had a family member the other day do dishes and didn't rely the info onto her. I pulled my processor out this morning and found several large food particles had got into that chamber/gap and unable to get it out. It is very frustrating that the design of this machine is such that it allows food to get into but not have a way to remove. This is very unsanitary in my eyes and it worries me that this will cause bacteria to grow and no way of rectifying the problem. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Gift from my kids for my birthday. I have LaMachine which I got 20 years ago. It worked great but it didn't have enough room in the receptacle. So if I was making guacamole, I needed to do it in stages. This unit is a spectacular step up. Don't get me wrong, La Machinecwas good to me for many years, but now that my kids updated me, I'm so happy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Received the processor as a Mother's Day gift. Have used it for about a month to process vegetables, fruit, and making pie crust. The processor has power and is also easy to clean and assemble. My favorite feature is the small bowl and blade option for smaller processing jobs. Love the versitility and KitchenAid quality! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
