I absolutely LOVE my new Kitchenaide toaster. I just bought a new mixer and saw the matching toaster. The features are fantastic! It senses bread and lowers it automatically and if you don’t take it out, the toaster will automatically lower it on a keep warm function. I thought the price was high for a toaster, but it is worth it!!!! This is a lifetime appliance with a metal shell instead of plastic like all the other cheap models on the market. A first class toaster with amazing features. Love that you just have to press the button a little longer, cause not all breads toast the same. Love the lighted front when the toaster is working. The cool touch exterior is great. The quality of the finishing is excellent. The beep sound when the toasts are done is pleasant to hear and not too loud. This toaster lowers the bread automatically and when done if you don't grab it right away, it keeps the toast warm. The quality of a commercial grade toaster in an elegant shape. I purchased the toaster about a month ago. I love the quality of the unit. It is very well constructed. The controls are very easy to use. Came across this toaster set up as a display when shopping for new appliances for our new house. I was amazed at the weight and solidness of the toaster. Loved the colour! When I got home I researched the toaster and was rather taken aback by the price - I got it as a house warming gift and love the unique features of bread automatically going down and the warm feature if the toast is not taken out after so many seconds. I initially felt something was wrong with my unit as the bread would not toast dark, even with the setting at the highest. I only eat whole grain bread that has a dark "complexion" already. I bought white bread to test it, and sure enough, it toasted black. So, if you only use whole grain breads, and you like dark toast, you might not like this unit. It takes longer to toast, and it doesn't toast dark & crisp. I could return it, but really like everything else about it. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

This toaster is so cool. I look forward to the mornings just so I can use it. Just put a slice of bread into the slot and the toaster senses it and lowers it into the unit. When it is done raises it slowly back up. If had some bones to pick , I wish that the end of cycle chime was louder or if it played a melody and that on the first piece of toast there are some sight unevenness to the browning from a cool start, but on the second go around it is fine. First off....the paint job on this baby is awesome....looks lbetter than a new car. First toaster that can be a conversation point/decoration for your kitchen. For its primary task, it toasts like no other. From the auto decent of your bread into the magical toasting area to the soothing chime letting you know that your average slide of bread has been turned into the finest toasted delicacy your mouth has experienced, you will enjoy this unit. I love the features of this toaster and it looks great sitting on my counter top. My only complaint is that I have to set it at the highest level (dark) to get a medium toast and I often have to use the "a little longer" button to finish the toast. I don't know if this is typical for this toaster or if mine has a defect. If it were not for this problem, I would have rated it 5 stars.

Frankly we bought this as kitchen jewelry. It goes perfect with out other red kitchenaid items and is nice enough to leave out. We were tired of getting out old ugly toaster and putting it away every day. The toaster has some neat features but frankly doesn't toast especially better than the much less expensive model it replaced. I do like the feature that keeps the toast warm if you don't get to it in a timely manner. Makes timing the eggs a little easier. LOL (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
