I bought my 16 cup food processor for my home, I am a professional chef and wanted something versatile and strong enough to handle some heavier and creative dishes at home. This appliance hit a home run! I would recommend this appliance for any seasoned chef to the beginner looking for power, versatility and speed! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My husband bought the wrong food processor for Christmas. It was a complete nightmare to send it back and receive credit. It took over 2 and half months to get my credit. All I can say is, GOOD LUCK if you have to return an item. KITCHENAID NEEDS TO STEP UP ON THEIR GAME ON RETURNING ITEMS. When I called customer service I Had to call 4 times before a shipping label had been created the C.R.R. wasn't very helpful, very nasty. So my advice make sure you by the right item to avoid this mess!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a great attempt at making a wonderful machine, but it falls short due to the over complicated safeties, most likely designed by an engineer who has no idea about the actual use of a food processor, or cleaning of it. I had the metal rod break off the lid insert, rendering the machine useless due to the safety not being able to be engaged. The metal rod is a fairly delicate item, and is easily broken off in the routine task of cleaning the lid. It is an overly complicated safety switch that has no reason to be that complicated of delicate. The worst part is that a replacement item in unavailable to be purchased, rendering the entire machine garbage. plus this model is currently on closeout, which tells me that I have no hopes of getting my food processor working ever again. So there's $600 in the trash can. If I would have known how delicate the metal rod is, I would have never bought this model, and looked elsewhere. I do believe in having safety features incorporated into an item like this, but come on, they do not need to be overcomplicated and prone to issues and breakage. Engineers should not be left in charge of the total design of an item like this, as this one is a clear failure.

I puree'd over 100 cups of steamed pumpkin in less time as the bowl holds 16 cups versus my other machine that only held 8. It's quieter than my last model too! Thank you Kitchen aid! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought one a year ago and use it quiet every day, what a beast. It slice perfectly, blend perfectly, even the kneading tool work as intended. The only tool that is almost unusable is the dicing kit, jam too easily, don't cut that clean, not a good idea, don't expect too much from this part. Tried several time, read and re-read the manual, looked at videos no good.

I bought mine in April of this year and I'm so glad. I have been a Kitchenaid afficianato since the early 70's and the last one I had was a KFP-690 Professional. This is the ONLY machine I considered replacing it with. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I am SO unhappy with this product. Do NOT buy it. I'm the sort of person who keeps her gadgets in the original packaging; my kitchen equipment is very well cared for. This food processor was hand washed and has never seen the inside of a dishwasher. So, imagine my surprise when it started falling apart. The blade snapped while making fresh breadcrumbs. On inspection you can see that the metal completely snapped - fresh bread did this! Of course when the blade flew off it destroyed the bowl - thankfully the plastic didn't fail and it kept the blade from causing injury to anyone. As well the lid has fallen apart. It's full of mould because you can't clean under the black housing, but water gets in when you wash it and can't dry properly. And, the piece that holds the safety tab somehow snapped off (possibly due to poor manufacturing in the first place) and the entire housing just fell apart. I begrudingly started researching replacement parts even though the issues lie 100% with manufacturing and definitely not by user error (there's absolutely no reason I should be paying for replacement parts) and became even more irate given the price of the replacements. As I'm doing all of this the water pump failed on our 3 year old KitchenAid refrigerator and we are now having to get replacement parts for that. I am completely disgusted by KitchenAid. I'm so mad that I gave up my ancient +20 year old Cuisinart food processor for this piece of junk.

I am very disappointed in the performance of this food processor. Maybe it's effective for slicing since I haven't tried that, but the basic operation and effectiveness of the regular blade is poor. I thought having two sizes of bowls would be great, but you have to use the smaller bowl inside the larger one, so you end up dirtying both. It's also very big and bulky and thus doesn't fit on my counter (and I have a relatively large kitchen). Having to change all the parts depending on the function being used is annoying also. This purchase is one of the best I have ever made. This processor is "user friendly" with great features. A really big help in preparing great foods for dinner parties and get-togethers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
