Brief unboxing of our new KitchenAid! The empire red does look slightly darker inside and we really do like the color.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  You have to turn the unit off and on a few times before it starts from cold start. Horrible grinding noise on speeds 2,3,4. Clicking noises when mixing any dough or tough mix.

The old one is easier to use. The new design can be stronger; however, at the moment of add ingredients its a hassle because you can’t tilt the motor, instead you have to remove it using two hands and spend more time to do it.... for some reason the old classic model has been around for more than 100 years... I tested both and my pick was the classic old design.

When out into high it seems like it still stays at one speed for 1-2 min then it may increase.... seems that it goes fast and slow in the highest speed.... that is a lot of money spent for not working as should

We got ours and I'm pretty sure it was a refurbushed one, but it works like a gem! Possibly my favorite kitchen gadget. It honestly was a brand new gift, or it seemed so. I couldn't believe it wasn't brand new!! I love these kitchenaids! Also, my husband, every time we make bread, says "This thing has a lot of torque!" There's a lot of power in it. Love my kitchenaid!!

I originally bought this for a wedding gift, but things got cancelled and I immediately requested to return. I was shocked and disappointed that I had to pay for the shipping which was $40. As for the product I am not sure how the product worked but I was already disappointed by the return.

When you are making bread dough make sure that after you have the water, shortening, egg, powdered milk, salt and a cup or two of flour in ,stir for a while and add yeast mixture --- CHANGE TO DOUGH HOOK! Then add remaining ingredients.

Love this blender/mixer. Easy to use. You may have to adjust bowl height but it’s easy to do. The blue colour is awesome.

The last two of these I bought, the switch didn't turn on the first time. This one would turn on about every 4th try. the previous one, that I am still using, the switch would usually work for about a year, then it started to work about half the time. The it stopped working at all, I opened it up and moved something back where it went and it started working again. Then the handle broke off, and at some point it stopped turning off occassionally, and sometimes sticks about halfway when turning it off. So it's important not to have to quickly turn the thing off. The new one started off with the same problem so I sent it back hoping for a different one the same color, but I got a refund instead. Se la vie. there are three kitchenaides in my garage, two this size with gear issues, one smaller one that i don't remember why it's been there 10 years. Someone come clean out my garage. There are also 4 chainsaws. Three weed-wackers...

This company “Always Quality” is a scam. I now see where many other customers have the same issue as I do where the mixer gives off an incredible loud motor noise almost like it is grinding on something. Also the beater (as others have indicated) when you clean it …. All the “silver” comes off and this black stuff comes off in your food. HORRIBLE! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. AND YOU GIVE ME NO ALTERNATIVE TO RETURN. I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE HARD EARNED MONEY THAT I GAVE YOU! Amazon should drop this supplier. This review is from a very high volume customer with a solid background! BEWARE ... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS RESELLER

So far, I like it very well. I have heard for years that Kitchen Aid is the best and I can believe it. I've only used it twice but both times have been very good. It is the best for every mixing job but really takes the pain out of kneading bread dough. Just one very minor issue, it's a little more heavy than what I'm accustomed to because it's larger and I have to store it in a cabinet as it won't fit on my counter under the top cabinets. I'll take it any day!

I've been waiting to drop money on a larger ticket item like this, but the amount I baked with it in the first weekend I had it made it worth it! It arrived on time, is beautiful, and I'm so glad I invested the money in this. A professional grade stand mixer can go for twice as much as this (I'm a chef, trust me these things can be expensive!) so this is a steal. Very happy with my purchase, and this would be a lovely gift. The color is exactly as advertised, and is one of my favorite colors! If you're pondering buying this, just take the leap.

I had a tilt head Kitchenaid mixer for years. Decided to upgrade. I knew I was buying a renewed mixer. After 2 months I wish I still had the tilt head. I went with the larger mixer because of making bread I needed more wattage. This is a wonderful mixer for making pizza dough and such. To make egg whites nice and fluffy you must whip several because just two it seems to take forever and doesn't do a real good job. The bowl is bigger but because of my muscle weakness it's a little more difficult to lock the bowl in.

I've only used it once, so far (got it yesterday!) but unless it suddenly stops working the day after the warranty ends, it's well worth the price!! I've wanted one of these my entire adult life, but just couldn't justify the price. I'm cheap, I admit it, and until I used it to make bread yesterday (as soon as I had washed the parts after it arrived), I no longer felt guilty about spending the money on myself. I have carpal tunnel and am developing arthritis in my hands, so hand kneading is no longer an option. This thing!!!! It takes so much of the work out of cooking and baking! The only issue I had was...when you put the paddle in, if it touches the bowl, you're supposed to turn the screw on the machine, behind the bowl to raise or lower the beater post. That's all it says. It doesn't say that the screw barely moves and is made out of very soft aluminum. It takes a flathead screwdriver, so make sure you have one with a wide enough blade to fill the slot, use slow, steady, firm pressure. You likely won't feel it move, but when you look, it will have turned slightly. Be careful that the blade doesn't slip because it's easy to chew up the screw because it's so soft.

I upgraded to this professional mixer and I’m in love. It holds so much cake batter. It’s beautiful and powerful. Kitchenaid knows how to make a near perfect mixer. Even better I got it way cheap by buying refurbished, and it looks and works like new.

She keeps it in her house. I used it for the first time last week. I was immediately disappointed. I was to separate the egg yolks and whites then whip the yolks till light and pale yellow. THE BEATERS DONT EVEN TOUCH THE EGGS in the bottom. I HAD TO GET OUT MY HAND MIXERS (TWO SEPERATE ONES) TO FINISH MY BAKING JOB. THIS IS NOT THE IDEA OF BUYING SUCH A NICE ELECTRIC MIXER. WHF? Seriously disappointed. My Mom's old 1950's stand mixer worked way better, I wish I had NEVER purchased this machine. sadly I have wanted one for decades, what a disappointment.

Love this mixer! Wish that I had gotten one years ago. This one is a refurbished model but it looks and works like it is brand new. And I was amazed at how well it kneaded dough. I make DIY skin care products so one of the main reasons that I got this 6 qt pro model was for whipping body butters, which takes alot more whipping than I can do by hand with my very arthritic hands. Well this machine whips the body butter like a champ! Only issue that I had was one of the attachments was missing. But that was quickly resolved and the seller shipped it right out to me. I would highly recommend this seller and buying a refurbished KitchenAid. Looking forward to many years of use from this mixer.

I haven't used this too much because I don't bake much. But I will say this, it's a great blender. This thing is built like a tank, yes like a professional/industrial tool and it runs like a Cadillac. It runs so smoothly. So if you bake, this is defiantly the blender to get. We got a refurbished unit, but aside from the box, you would have thought it was brand new. I have heard good things about KitchenAid blenders and have to say I can see why and recommend them to others.

Trying to purchase a stand mixer during the pandemic was challenging. I, like many others, took up baking during quarantine. My husband asked if I wanted a mixer for Mother’s Day since I was doing it all by hand. After 3 failed attempts of getting it elsewhere, we did some homework and decided this was the best route since we wanted a 6qt with the lift vs the tilt. It arrived about a week after we ordered it. Some tears in the box during shipping but no damage at all. It’s beautiful and works like a dream! I have been able to do so much more since it wasn’t all by hand. Great product for the price.

Bought this heavy duty mixer and used it at home. I bought it on Feb 8 so let say it got here on the 15th of February and it completely stopped working and over heated on June 7th. 3 months for $200. Just missed the return period. So I'm not happy with Amizon or the seller. Rip Off. The same model as the one it replaced which lasted 25 years.

I did a lot of research on refurbished KitchenAid mixers and thought it was worth a try to save $200. I bought mine from Always Quality (listed as "always quality"). First of all, unimpressed with the seller and shipping. I placed my order on May 14 and received message that my package had shipped. "Great," I thought. It ended up not being received by FedEx until May 18, four days later. On May 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25th I received messages that my package was "Out for Delivery." I finally received it on May 25th, and, oddly enough, the tracking number still shows that it's out for delivery. I tried to contact the seller twice to see where my package might be and got crickets. Nothing. Anyway, it arrived and it is flawless looking. Really beautiful. I read that the whisk attachment was turning peoples' food gray so I made a paste of baking soda and water and rubbed the whisk wires by hand and that removed the debris that was on the surface. The other two attachments seem to be fine. The black knobs are on the speed lever, the lever near the front (where attachments go) but not on the lever used to raise the bowl. It's not a big deal to me and not obvious. I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies today and it worked well. The motor is loud, sometimes not so loud, sometimes quite loud, and behaves that way at every speed. For this reason, I would not order one of these as a gift. I know it's loud, but I saved $200 so I can live with that. It mixed the dough well. I have yet to try bread dough because, thanks to COVID-19, grocery stores have been sold out for weeks. I'm cautiously optimistic that the mixer will be able to handle it. It short, I paid $279 for a KitchenAid Pro 600 that looks flawless but is loud. I will feel better about it when I "put it through the ringer," which will need to be soon to stay within warranty. I saved the box for a possible return. I saved over $200 so overall, I feel I have reason to be cautiously optimistic and pleased with the savings. The more I use it, the more confident I'll be. Looks great on my counter. Would not buy as a gift.

Awesome stand mixer. Kitchenaid has been apart of our family for many years. My Grandmother was a baker and she used this machine religiously over 20yrs as a baker she need that reliability and truly it is reliable. My Aunt has a Kitchehaid as well as my Sister. I am so glad to join the club. Love this mixer.

In five months we haven't yet tortured this thing; use it almost every day. What we have mixed thus far which smoked other smaller mixers: Two cake mixes, double batch of butter cream frosting, four pounds of hamburger and sausage, 2 loafs of bread The one we purchased was refurbished. Looks like new. Mothers Day 2020. A batch of cupcakes and some icecream. We dont have the ice cream maker from kitchenaid but wipped the ingredients with the whisk and transferred to another brand frozen bowl for churning. Awesome soft serve.

I was so excited to get this mixer that I opened it and started using it immediately. I have been baking 26 loaves of sourdough bread and 20 pizza crusts a week to donate during Covid 19. At this rate, my tilt head Kitchen Aid mixer just wasn’t going to keep up with the volume. And the tilt head mixer isn’t ideal for bread dough. It’s fine to use here and there, but the locking mechanism in on the bowl in the smaller mixer will not hold up over time. My new lifting bowl mixer arrived in its original box and packaging and came with all the attachments, warranty info, and owners manual. The only way you can tell it’s refurbished is by the KitchenAid serial number on the bottom which indicates it’s a factory referb. I didn't have any trouble registering my item on the website. It works wonderfully and is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time!

Everything I have come to expect from KitchenAid, so far. I have used KitchenAid stand mixers since the early 70's, I also have worked a job as a maintenance technician for a commercial kitchen in a state prison. Therefore I have a good bit of experience with kitchen equipment using and maintaining. Provided one has reasonable expectations and uses the mixer within it's capability you should do well with this. If you have trouble I would encourage you to get in touch with KitchenAid and take their advise. Get a KitchenAid cook book, adapt your technique to using the mixer and you should be quite content with it's performance.

This is a first-rate piece of machinery. I use it when making cookies, meatloaf and meatballs, and whipped cream... and that's just scratching the surface of its abilities. It can even knead dough to make fresh bread or pizza dough. If you love to cook, and especially if you love to bake, this is a must-have. If you do purchase a stand mixer, get a cover. It keeps the bowl and mixer dust-free; you'll never regret the extra expense.

If you’re shopping for a KitchenAid, you know what you’re looking at. The 6qt was an upgrade for me — I had a 1958-ish k5-a that I love, but it started developing electrical issues. Accessories all work, the bowl is larger but consistent with the attachments... More importantly, the refurb. I don’t think this thing was ever operated. It came silver instead of white, but who cares? It’s in perfect condition. I absolutely would go that route again. I mean I got the 6qt for less than the tilt-head would have cost me at target.

This mixer is like super serum. It instantly turned me into Superman for my gal who had always wanted one but never wanted to spend the money. I got this great refurbished deal on Amazon after Black Friday and pulled the trigger without hesitation. I knew that the return process would be easy in the event that something didn't work right but it worked wonderfully and was about half the original price. It is quiet, smooth, and beautiful. Thank you Amazon for making me number one in my special gal's eyes.

There are many things to like about KitchenAid period. It’s a household staple for amateurs & professionals alike! But, Stop being so trust worthy. Do your research first. This is a refurbished item and is not backed by KitchenAid. It’s a European model I believe. You get what you pay for. I have purchased two of them; the first one was perfect! I could not believe I’d gotten such a good deal on a quality brand! Then, I wanted another one and this one was like many of the stories I have reviewed. It wasn’t really much but I knew from how it sound... the speed was off, and the motor was not going to last so I returned it. My suggestion Is to go ahead and test any item first to make certain you are 100% before it’s too late to be refunded. Especially refurbished items.

The color was slightly different than the image but I still love it. The dough attachment was dirty when it arrived (I ordered refurbished). But I’ve always loved the bar lift vs. twist in. Easy to work with the product in between mixing, if needed. Kitchen Aid is by far the best mixer and worth the money spent.

This is a seriously 5 star product. I got a refurb and it is going strong after three months of heavy use. I make bread at least twice a week and it just keeps grinding away at it. I have made ice cream a couple of times, too. So no, not just whipping egg whites here. This thing is a hoss. I don't have any extras for it except the ice cream freezer bowl and dasher. I think my dough hook came with it. Might get the meat grinder attachment some day. If you get one of these, get an extra bowl. They are all over fleabay and amazon. I like the bowl lifter type better than the pivoting head type, but only because the motor is stronger. The tilting head is convenient for casual mixing but for bread, you need the muscle of the bigger motor if you want it to last. Finally, it just looks great on the counter. It is right beside where the meat slicer goes. When I get one. Anybody who visits your kitchen and sees this brute of a mixer knows you mean business.

The Kitchenaid Professional 600 Stand Mixer 6 quart, Empire Red (Renewed) arrived when promised and undamaged - it's packaged well. Product looked like new with the exception of two very small dings inside the bowl. Mine did come with a pretty substantial knob on the lift handle. Instructions are clear and concise. Product registration is easy- go to KitchenAid's website and "Service and Support" (the model and serial numbers are on the mail-in form) ... took about 3 minutes. There's also a lot of useful tips and tricks there and well worth a read, especially if you're like me and have never owned a KitchenAid stand mixer before. Pleased so far, it's a time saver and has made cooking fun again. Makes short work of mashed potatoes (no lumps!) and it's easy to clean afterwards. I chose this model because it fit under the upper cabinets and can be used there unlike the tilt head models, power (575 watts), and the refurbished price savings though you do lose six months of warranty. I left one star off as it's way too soon to tell about longevity but it seems quite substantial and well made.

I love it. The other reviews about noise and not reaching the bottom of the bowl made me hesitate but that has not been an issue for me at all. Yes its a little louder than the usual stand mixer but given that my last one went down the stairs with me its quieter than that. I have made multiple batches of bread and a pound cake, had no issue with dough hook or beater paddle skimming bottom of the bowl, actually does better than my old kitchen aid. My biggest issue was adjusting from tilt head to bowl lift so nothing unexpected. Came with the S hook for the dough, where has this been all my baking bread life WAY better than the C hook I was used to. If you don't have one and do bread, worth buying, the dough does not crawl up the hook at all in comparison.

I love this mixer. I had an older one a little smaller and fell in love with it but it eventually stopped working. I like this new mixer but it is a bit louder and doesn't seem to get the dough off the sides as well as my older one but I would still recommend the mixer.

At first when I saw the offer to purchase this as a refurbished item I had reservations . However, after reading the reviews as I'm sure most of you will. I decided to take the plunge due to the considerable savings. The item arrived on time and to my surprise it even had a knob on the handle, which I didn't expect because i was under the impression that the refurbished models didn't come with the knobs. This is per the description that Amazon gave for this model. When it arrived I unpacked it and set it up. The mixer looked new without any blemishes. The setup was pretty straightforward but putting the bowl on and off takes a little practice. I ran the appliance for five minutes on each setting to make sure it operated properly. (NOTE) the settings are numbered 0 - 10 but the switch operates by two's. So I ran it for 25 minutes. I even conducted the dime test to make sure the attachments were operating correctly. After all of that I turned it over to the wife. She then began to go on a mixing marathon preparing bread, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, butter and whipped cream. Using the three attachments that were provided with the mixer without any problems. Not a bad deal and I am satisfied thus far. My advise is to do your homework and good luck

The mixer I bought refurbished from "Always Quality" started smoking and stopping ten weeks after I got it. Always Quality said it wasn't their problem, go talk to Kitchenaid. KitchenAid said "it's supposed to do that - it's not meant to work for more than two minutes at a time"! I quote them. I make stiff doughs - pizza and bagels - and my favorite recipes come from Peter Reinhart who, for pizza dough says "If you are using an electric mixer, switch to the dough hook and mix on medium speed for 5-7 minutes." I always mixed at the lowest setting - 2. KitchenAid looked up the serial number and said it was seven years old. I could have cared less how old the chassis was as long as the motor was new but you might want to know that. Kitchenaid finally said I'd get a replacement in three days but never shipped it. Couldn't be more disappointed with the seller or manufacturer. Everyone I know who owns a KitchenAid mixer, which is most people I know who bake, were deeply appalled that Kitchenaid says their mixers aren't meant to work for more than two to three minutes (they said this to me multiple times) and that their customer support was so abysmal. I thought they were the best, it's why after years of making doughs by hand I finally ponied up for a mixer.

I received my mixer Saturday and it is in like new condition. The box was missing the knob to the bowl lifter arm. I called and discovered today, talking with KitchenAid, that the company does NOT put a knob on the bowl lifter arm on all the refurbished mixers, like on brand new models. Only one of the colors pictured on Amazon, black, actually shows the knob as missing. The other colors have a different side view so I couldn't tell when ordering. It is not a big deal as the mixer bowel lifter arm is still functional and doesn't appear to be missing any piece. The lifter arm is still smooth with rounded ends so completely safe to use without a knob. The mixer does NOT come with a bowl shield but that was as I thought, per the description text on Amazon order page. Please note that the mixer is very heavy, so you will want to keep out on your counter. Now I know why my daughter-in-law does! I plan to use my new mixer today!

I got this for my wife originally as a mothers day present. She absolutely loved it. She has gotten into baking and decorating cookies and this makes the whole process a million times easier than using a hand mixer. She loves the versatility of it. It looks so professional and I am hoping it inspires her to do more baking because who doesn't love cookies.

I received this mixer as my birthday gift from my hubby Bill. I LOVE IT! Used it for the first time today and made Lemon Blueberry Cupcakes. It was so much easier to use this stand mixer to mix the batter and frosting instead of my hand mixer. For example, the mixer kept mixing as I added eggs for the batter. The mixer kept mixing as I added powdered sugar for the frosting. It made making Lemon Blueberry cupcakes so much more fun.

I bought this in October, and when I got it definitely had a slight grinding noise. However, it didn't bother me because it worked well otherwise. Then it quit working after 5 months of light usage (once a week, tops), and the seller won't take it back because it's past their 90-day warranty, but told me KitchenAid would (because it's within 6 months), but they've been ignoring me for three weeks and I don't know what to do with it other than toss it. I live in a rural area and buy a lot of things online, and I trusted Kitchenaid brand, but they are totally blowing it here.

We needed a large enough mixer to be able to make several batches of cookies with the grandchildren. Making the dough has been very easy with this mixer. It is very strong and able to quickly mix large, heavy batches at one time. It also makes great mashed potatoes! The spring that holds the bowl in place is a bit tight, but once we figured that out we do not have a problem putting the bowl in place.

USED IT FOR ABOUT A MONTH WITH ALL THE CARE THAT THE MANUAL SAID, IT STILL WAS TOO LOUD, AND IT BECAME HEATING REALLY FAST AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF USE, WITH A STRONG BURNED ODOR FROM THE ENGINE. I STOPPED IT, IT STILL WORKS BUT LOUDER AND WITH THE SAME HEATING ISSUE. TRIED CALLING THE WARRANTY SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ANSWER, I QUIT ABOUT AN HOUR ON HOLD EACH TIME FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THIS WAS A REFURBISHED PRODUCT, MAYBE THAT WAS THE ISSUE OR THE SELLER IS SIMPLY IRRESPONSIBLE.

Looks great, works great! It’s a little bit of a trick to get the bowl on and off at first, but easy enough. We did need to adjust the set of the rotor as it wasn’t hitting the bowl evenly, but it’s already a workhorse in our kitchen, and was a great birthday gift for my baker partner!

Just received this mixer, had one similar before. The Artisan model. My new one is the Professional 600. This one makes considerably more noise. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Other than the noise the Professional 600 is awesome. Much more powerful, a dough kneading beast! Would give it 5 stars if not for the noise and uncertainty of how much noise it should make. I will update later.

Was looking for a kitchen aid for my wife for Christmas and came across this refurbished one. I read some reviews and saw a couple bad ones but mostly good. I am not normally a guy who buys anything second hand but thought we would give this a shot because of the heavy discount opposed to a new one. We unwrapped it on Christmas it look like new there was one minor scratch but that could be expected. We decided to make a batch of cookies we had 2 sticks of room temperature butter that we threw in the bowl and turned on the mixer, and nothing just the weight of the warm butter was enough to stop this thing in its tracks. So I feeling sorry about a botched Christmas present cleaned out the butter repacked it up and sent it back. We are now looking into purchasing a new Kitchenaid Pro 6000. In conclusion if you are just looking for a nice appliance to sit on the counter and look at buy this. But if you plan on actually mixing something I would recommend going a different route.

I used this mixer for a few months trying out different recipes, breads, cookies and using the attachments (yay spiralizer!). I just kept getting frustrated with having to scrape down the bowl so often that I began to wonder if this was actually abnormal. After much reading, I found that these mixers should be able to pass what's called the "dime test." Basically when you put a dime in the bottom of the metal bowl and use the paddle mixer, you should see the dime moving around the bowl slowly. Not being stuck to the paddle (too close), but being moved basically a small amount with each revolution of the paddle in a stop-and-go fashion. There's a little dial you can access behind the bowl with a screwdriver that adjusts the bowl height in relation to the head and paddle attachments themselves. I was so excited! I was sure I'd found the issue. My screw was all the way to the right, so I adjusted it smideon by smidgeon with the dime in the bowl. With no movement of the dime. At all. I thought maybe it wasn't all the way to the right and I was mistaken? Tried all the way with a good firm twist past where I thought it had stopped before--nope, wouldn't move any further. Ok, tried the dime again. Still no movement. Basically my bowl physically can't get close enough to the paddles to work adequately. Annnnd of course it took me too long to figure out that this was a problem and not just me picking the wrong recipes as a beginner baker. So the return period passed. And my mixer is far less used than I had hoped for my baking. :( Hoping the seller contacts me about a solution!

The mixer itself works great. The only issue I have is that my beater attachment is old. It doesn't have a smooth finish and has a grey residue that gets all over everything including what you are mixing. I'm having to buy a new attachment because I am unable to use it. I'm not too upset about it because I know it's used and I'm satisfied with the mixer itself.

My 5 qt. Kitchenaid stand mixer wore out last year after almost 30 years of hard working service. I bake and cook a lot. I wanted a 6 qt. because making bread and doubling recipes during the holidays was a pain with the 5 quart. Making bread made the 5 qt. jump around. So the price was right and I am a scratch and dent kinda girl so refurbished didn't scare me away. Husband finally bought this for me a month ago and I have used it at least once a week since. Bread making is a breeze and large recipes are no problem. Ingredients dtsy in tge deep bowl so much better whereas my 5 qt it came out tge top a lot. Very happy with this!

Sorta wished I'd have purchased the model that rotates up and back so I can put ingredients in during the mixing process, and also want a glass bowl option. Other than that this machine is amazing. Incredibly sturdy, strong, we'll built, intuitive, and easy to use and clean.

It's a great mixer. It's super sturdy and really powerful. BUT... It's a pain in the rear to set up, it's big and heavy. That's the merit of a "heavy - duty" mixer. You could probably drop this out the window and not damage it. I bought it not because I needed that sturdy a mixer, but because the price was so great compared to the 'regular-duty' models. If you don't need a really stout mixer, you may regret buying this. It would be more convenient if I could leave it out all the time - getting it up and down from the cabinet is a chore.

Great buy! I was very sceptical of buying "refurbished" items; however my Kitchenaide was deemed unrepairable and after A LOT of research, I decided to take the risk. I've used the "new" one for 3 months and produced 6 full sized loaves of bread per recipe, as pictured, 8 different times. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE! It is, of course, heavier than my old mixer, so that is something to consider; and I wish I could get a pouring shield like with my old mixer.

We had to return it. Love kitchenaid and was super disappointed that this one was a dud. It made a crazy clunking noise anytime wed use it and something a grinding noise along with the clunking. Wish it hadnt been a dud, it was a great deal!

Refurbished piece of junk. I finally had the opportunity to use it and it is absolute garbage. Half the time it doesn't turn on and when it does, it makes an awful noise. The pieces don't fit so they move when they are supposed to be locked in place. I am extremely disappointed.

My wife got this for me to expand my culinary skills. I chose a refurbished model because they are waaaaay cheaper and I'm convinced that people bought them and didn't realize they needed to push the mixing bowl down to click in place (I remembered from getting my mother one). I've used it for whipping cream, macarons, Milano cookies, less fancy cookies, swiss cake rolls, pizza crusts... and chicken! This shreds chicken like a boss. In 45 seconds, it will shred beef bbq, pork butt, chicken breast. I've read of other things it does, but this is my experience over thame last couple of months. One thing to watch is that certain doughs may need you to monitor the motor heat.

Just received this yesterday. Tested it out and works great. Came with whisk, beater and dough hook. Also bought the 4 year square trade warranty just in case. For now this was a great price. Needed it to make bigger batches of pizza dough. My 25 year old KitchenAid mixer is still going strong but a little small.

This was a mother's day present from my son to my wife. She absolutely loves this mixer. She had a smaller (4.5 quart) Kitchenaid for at least 10 years and it was still working with no problems (it was also a refurbished model). She has been baking in large quantities for our church and this bigger mixer has helped with that. She can mix up a batch of that will make 12 dozen cookies at a time now. We ordered a scraper blade (the ones that have a rubber edge to scrape the bowl while it mixes). Be careful buying those third party. We called Kitchenaid about the noise it was making and found out there are resellers here on Amazon selling discontinued models of that blade. Kitchenaid told us to not use it any more and gave us the right part number to buy. The previous mixer had a tilt head. The lift head is nice because you can keep it pushed back on the counter under the upper cabinets when you use it. You can't do that with the tilt head. I work for Whirlpool who makes Kitchenaid appliances. The refurbishing process is extensive and I trust a refurbished just as much as I do a new one - maybe more because the testing process they go through it more rigorous than the new ones.

I am taking cooking classes and I wanted to buy the same equipment than the school. I was really disappointed for the noise level that this refurbished mixer was doing since the beginning. Metal to metal annoying sound every time that is working. My mistake was to wait more than 30 days to report it. Vendor is not taking responsibility for their defective product. My wife used to work in a auto parts refurbish company and they used to give at least 2 year if warranty in their product as it was also sell as “certified refurbished”. Amazon partial refunded me as an exemption. I really appreciate that as I will need to pay for the repair of this one. Vendors that are not aligned with the customer focus culture of Amazon should not be allowed in this website.

This is my first stand mixer, and so far seems to be working well. Since it is refurbished I was a little nervous, especially when I pulled it out of the box & the bowl wasn't sitting flat/level. Good thing I took a moment to review the instructions...the bowl has to be snapped into place prior to mixing. What I don't like is that the bowl is stationary, and it is difficult to scrape the sides, even when dropped from the mixing position when the flat beater is attached. But it really is such a minor inconvenience as it is a lot quicker mixing up a batch of cookies. And the other "disappointment" has more to do with personal taste and pictures on the web not quite "true color". I was hoping that the empire red would be a darker red than it turned out to be.

Am so excited to have my new Pro600 mixer - was worried about the refurbished model, but looks brand new - no signs of wear at all AND Amazon offered a 3-year extended warranty for a small price - now worries about issues are gone, as the manufacturer warranty is only 6 months. Came with three attachments: beater, dough hook, and whip - the burnished metal one has not discolored at all (as others have reported) - I have hand washed and dried immediately after use and have NOT put it in the dishwasher. Instructions in the small book were clear and easy - especially regarding bowl height adjustments and speed for different tasks. I make all of our bread and pasta and burned out the motor on my Kitchen Aid Artisan - this is the perfect upgrade - nearly 2 times the motor wattage!

I received my mixer a few weeks ago and it is a beautiful piece of kitchen help! I simply love it and have used all of the attachments to make fresh whipping cream with the whisk, to cheesecake batter and a meatloaf with the paddle, to pizza dough using the dough hook. I do most of the cooking in our house and I have wanted one of these forever. I bought the refurbished model with an extended 4-year warranty which is a no-brainer for the minimal cost. The only thing I don't like about the purchase is that it didn't come with a splash shield and rubber sided paddle, but I knew that going in, it just would've been nice to have those at the outset but for the price I can't complain. I recently got the paddle I wanted to keep the side scraping down and I'm looking forward to using this thing all the time!

I've only just received this product..... But, getting the refurbished for the same price as the next down model seemed a pretty good deal. I wanted a mixer that held the bowl for me.... Had to buy a whole new cupboard to hold the kitchen appliances: Mixer, waffle iron, bread maker, slow cooker. already went to pick up the pasta maker & sausage maker addons though I already have a manual pasta maker..... not having to crank while feeding the machine seems like an advantage.

I received my unit and attempted to turn it on but nothing happened. I pushed the dial back to off then retried, this time it worked. I repeated this over and over. Unfortunately, it only turns on intermittently. I contacted KitchenAid and was told that I’m very lucky that this unit fell under the KitchenAid refurbished warranty because she can send me a true KitchenAid refurbished stand mixer. There are many times when this is not the case. She warned me to make sure to always purchase from a KitchenAid certified reseller. I gave this one star because I would like to prevent others from making a costly mistake.

The refurbished mixer arrived, and looked great. Turning it on, however, the noise was terrible. It sounded like the motor was struggling. Still, for the first three times I used it, it worked. My last time using it (making chocolate chip cookies, and not over loading the ingredients), however, became frightening as the mixer started to smoke and smell like it was burning. The machine has been returned, and I'm awaiting my refund.

Great machine I was sent the wrong color so I was not happy about that I thought it was going to look more like a pearl light but this looks like a very light light gray gray metallic but I'm stuck with it so otherwise it works fine I've always loved KitchenAid

I make a lot of bread. Had a Kitchen Aid lift mixer that I really liked but it started making a little noise when needing dough. I gave the lift top to my sister before I burned it up and got this one. LOVE IT. It handles the heavy dough with no problem and hardly heats up at all. Runs quietly and at the price one cannot beat it. Am very pleased.

Stay away. Mixer failed after 5 mins of use. These worthless people then have the gall to charge a 30 dollar fee to return a defective mixer. My guess is one of you poor saps is going to end up with my piece of junk return. Good luck with that. Our old 600 Pro was bought new in 2008 never failed to perform once in all those years of service until it had an issue in 2017. Take my advice do not buy from these people and do not buy a 600 period spend the extra money and purchase the Kitchen-Aid 6500 with a dc motor. Kitchen Aid changed the 600 pro quality a few years ago and it does not perform like the 600 series made in 2008. Trust me, go spend that extra get the 6500 you will be thanking me later, especially if you bake with heavy dough. Otherwise, you will be ending up with a 200 dollar red paperweight.

OMG! I love my new mixer! I have never had a "real" mixer before and knew when I did eventually purchase one, I wanted a good one. I am seriously impressed! In the first week I used all three attachments. I made everything I could, just to use the machine - and it worked like a dream. I do wish the attachments were dishwasher-safe but that is not a deal breaker in the least. I love this mixer and will gladly hand wash the attachments in order to keep it forever. As a warning though: The first batch of bread dough I made turned a blackish color though. I had to google why that would happen and apparently Kitchenaid uses something on their mixing bowl in the polishing process that you sometimes cannot wash off with regular dishsoap and a cloth. We had to follow the Kitchaid instructions and make a baking soda paste to neutralize the bowl before using it. They said we could eat the bread made with the blackish dough, but I didn't really want to take the chances so we just tossed it out. After we neutralized it and rewashed it (and all the attachments), we have never had that problem again.

This is great! I was a little scared about it being refurbished - but it works great and I have had no issues so far. I have had it for almost a month and used it frequently with no issues! Other than it coming in a plain box it appears to be just like a brand new machine. I am very happy with this and the cost savings for the refurbished compared to a new one was an added bonus!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The mixer it’s self is gorgeous. The red is beautiful shiny not a scratch on it. The stainless steel bowl I love. What I’m having trouble with is adjusting the bowl and the beater. The beater keeps hitting the bottom of the bowl, I now have scratches on it. I cannot seem to figure out how to adjust it if I turn the screw too much to the right it’s wrong if I turn it too much to the left it’s wrong I tried doing the Dime test that I found online that the dime should move sometimes it moves sometimes it doesn’t I’m at a loss on what to do. I have sent an email off to KitchenAid and I will send a video of it if they cannot help me I will be returning this ** update I never heard back from Kitchenaid on my dime test. I did buy another beater that has rubber on the edges, so that takes care of that. I now have the pasta maker that gets attached and spiral with peel core and slice that I haven’t used yet. Pasta maker I love but I’m going to search for a better pasta recipe as the one they give you is quite bland. Searching now for an ice cream maker a little confused on what size to buy. I bought a hard covered book here on Amazon on recipes for using your KitchenAid mixer. That will come on Sunday I am looking forward to it I love this mixer!

Bought this item thinking it was a great deal, and why the price may be great for the product the picture for the Empire Red is not the same color you will receive. I wanted the darker red like the one seen in the advertised picture but got more of a cherry red. Very disappointed with this purchase! Don’t trust the pictures posted by the seller!!! Oh, and this item was viewed on multiple computers and phones and none of them show the same image as the actual color ‘Empire Red’.

After much research, visiting several vendors and calling Amazon, I took the plunge and bought this 6 QT Pro mixer in Sugar Pearl. I opted to go with refurbished due to the deep discount and guarantee from Amazon they would stand behind the product should it be defective. It was an Amazon Fufilled Product. Upon arrival and inspection, the mixer appears brand new and never been used. Cosmetically it is mint. I have since used the mixer to do molasses cookies and couldn't be happier with this decision. In addition I did purchase the 3QT bowl and whip attachment for smaller jobs. People have complained this mixer needs excess scraping of the bowl while mixing, I didn't find this to be the case. In the past, I have burned up two Heritgage Sunbeam stand mixers as I cook a lot, not sure why I waited so long to dive in! Thanks Amazon...

I was mixing white icing when the icing began to perculuarly turn gray. I threw out the batch and hand washed everything. Once dried, I noticed the mixing attachment that I used was painted with something that is *CLEARLY* not good-safe considering it came off in my family’s food! I have it a second hand wash and a wash through the dishwasher just to be safe...STILL gray paint coming off! Photo was taken after 3rd wash. I’d rather not poison my family.

I've wanted one of these mixers for many years now and I am enjoying this device immensely! I have put 8 cups of flour in this device and the dough was kneaded and smooth in about 5 minutes, I shall be making many products with this mixer! Additionally, for a 'refurbished' item, it does not appear to have been in any way used, no marks, scratches, dings, etc. I have yet to find any deficiencies.

Loved this mixer when I got it in November. After using it about 6 times, in the middle of making a cake, the beater quit turning. It was not in a bind or over-heated, it just quit. The motor is still running, so I am assuming that it's the beater mechanism. I guess that's the problem with buying a refurbished appliance. I bought the Amazon warranty, so I am in the process of returning it and have now ordered a new, never-before-used one. Of course, it had to happen at Christmas, which is a real bummer for doing my holiday baking. Luckily, I also have the smaller Artisan model, so I'll just have to make smaller batches of everything, which will take twice as long! Oh well!

The item I bought is refurbished. It is not mint, but is very good. It looks new. The lever for going between speeds is a bit wonky/tough/off kilter, but nothing that prohibits it from doing its' job in the kitchen. This is my first KitchenAid stand mixer and I am very happy with the product and the price I paid for this refurbished item.

I'm a professional baker and have been using Kitchenaid mixers for at least the last 12 years. I bought this mixer because after owning my previous mixer for well over 10 years (still worked perfectly btw) I needed to upgrade to a bigger one. It was my first time buying refurbished, I received the mixer on time, everything looked good and none of the parts were missing. My mistake was not testing it out as soon as I got it. I bought this mixer in September but didn't have the need to use it until closer to the holidays. When I actually turned it on, I noticed that this mixer made a lot of noise. It was extremely loud and kind of sounded like metal scrapping against metal (even when turning it on without the bowl or any attachments on it, while in the slowest setting). My previous home Kitchenaid or the KitchenAids I use at work don’t ever make that much noise. This was a DEFECTIVE ITEM. I returned it but only received a partial refund. Now I'm out $80+ that they still owe me as they called it a "restocking fee" even thought their refund policy says that they don't charge the fee on items that are defective. UPDATE: After contacting Amazon a few times, the seller (always quality) still refused to give a full refund and were extremely rude in their emails. Avoid them as much as you can. In the end, Amazon ended refunding me what I was owed.

I'm in love with this machine. The color is a bit darker than I expected. I thought I was getting the "pearl" finish and it would look, well, more like a pearl. But it's definitely more of a stainless steel look, which I don't mind. It is virtually flawless. The only thing that I noticed is that the metal band that wraps around the top (that has the mixing speeds stamped into it) doesn't sit flush anymore (there is a tiny gap). I suppose it could be fixed with some super glue if I can muster the patience to stand there holding it down with my finger while the glue dries! :-) First thing I did was set it up, plug it in and turn it on. It rotates smoothly and without too much noise. It's definitely got an upgraded engine as compared to my first Artisan KitchenAid stand mixer. I have used it a couple times now for pies and meringues and it's just a beauty. So glad I upgraded and I'm so pleased with this refurbished product. Hands down, great buy!

My cooking career as a know-nothing male began within the last twelve months. And I was presumptions enough to begin with some succulent recipes by Julia Child. I ruined enough good dishes by pouring hot liquid into an egg yolk mixture too fast or not mixing the ingredients with the bowl submerged in ice water, or boiling water, I determided that I needed a stand up mixer to augment my lousy whisking technique. My researh led me to a Kitchenaid and Amazon led me to the Professional 600 which, at that time, was selling for a major discount, without my state's 10% sales tax and free shipping. Being unable to resist the intrigue of new toys, I bought one. I now make creamed soups, roux, and have the patience to dribble in a cup of hot liquid a few drops at a time without getting so antsy that I pour in the whole thing too fast. I no longer hate whipping egg whites for French sponge cakes. I also bought a water jacket that really comes in handy. Face it - the French were making good food without electric mixers for over 600 years and one is not a necessity, particularly if it's only used occasionally. However, as a serious amateur, I use it a lot and the machine performs enough basic chores for me that I don't get so exhaused and/or disappointed to give up. And, as I calculate it given my age, I'll only have to buy one for the rest of my life.

We bought this mixer to replace an old Kitchenaid that finally died after 17 years. We both love this mixer. The larger bowl volume and wider width of the bowl make it much easier to add ingredients while mixing. The slow start up also is a great feature that helps keeps ingredients in the bowl and not all over the kitchen. The power is great when using the attachments. Cons. The only real con is that it doesn't handle smaller batches as well because of the bigger bowl. We have purchased an "aftermarket" beater that has spatula edge to see if this helps. I would recomend this to any serious cooks or bakers. If you are an occasional home cook I would suggest a smaler model.

After reading all of the glowing reviews, and then the few negative reviews, I had some doubts about ordering the king of all mixers. But the price (it ended up to be $219, no tax, no shipping) convinced me and I ordered it. For starters, I ordered it Monday and it was on my front porch on Tuesday. I didn't have time to change my mind! I'm still in shock. It's a few days old, and I've used it constantly. There are some big differences between this mixer and my little baby Artisan. The noise is doubled, for sure. I also hadn't thought about measuring the height of this baby - it doesn't fit under my counter! And the first bread recipe I tried wouldn't knead - my guess is the recipe was TOO SMALL for the mixer! That said, it works phenomenally. The noise seems necessary to support the power. I whipped up butter for a cake, and the cake recipe, in no time at all. I made some another yeast recipe (doubled!) and found it worked perfectly. This machine is not necessary for your average baker/cook. But I sure love it!

UPDATE:12/10/08 - Have used this a lot since it arrived! Have made bread, cookies, cakes, frosting - wow! Makes every recipe easy-breezy! I have even begun to like cooking again. LOVE IT! Am now ordering another for a Christmas gift! Amazon has the best price too! I ordered this on 11/18 and received it on 11/20! I lucked out and got it for $269, free shipping! Wow! I just made a loaf of bread and a bunch of cloverleaf rolls - couldn't have been easier! This is the model to buy! It can handle breadmaking with ease. I am now looking forward to making tons of Christmas cookies and sweet breads - we are all going to get fat this season! I especially like the large dough hook. The attachments are easy to put on and the bowl lift is easy to use as well. I was afraid this would be too much machine for me, but it is surprisingly easy to use. I find the construction to be very solid. Overall, a 5 star purchase! Thanks Amazon for great pricing and super, super fast shipping!

I own a small to medium size bakery and this mixer is the greatest. We own two of these, one we purchased for a much higher price at Macy's before I realized they were on sale at Amazon. Both mixers do the job perfectly. We use them every day baking up all sorts of organic cakes, pies, puddings ect. We purchased a separate set of bread makers to make our homemade bread due to reading the reviews about the motor burning out if you make large batches of bread and we do. We are able to turn out 25-50 cakes and pies daily with these wonderful mixers. One problem is the beater doesn't go down far enough to the bottom of the bowl to mix all of the ingredients. So you will have to take your spatula and scrape/mix the bottom into the rest of the batter. This occurs on both mixers. They are also very pretty. I purchased the pearl white and the pewter one from Amazon.
