FYI, top fridge stopped cooling. I took the unit apart and the top fan ceased . Now if you youtube it, you can rebuild the fan. But it is a common computer case fan 12v .1a. should be easy to swap out if you know how to solder a little. Works fine now after the rebuild which just means cleaning motor housing and lubing shaft.

I unwrapped this as a xmas present and was excited. It didnt take long for that to turn into anger and disappointment. After plugging the cooler in the reading jumped to 40 in 6 minutes and continued to stay at 40 for 3 hours. When we open the door it feels like a sauna. We have hit the buttons to bring it down all the way but nothing seems to be working. The instructions say to plug it in and go. Seriously?! No troubleshooting ? This is the worst present ! I can't wait to get the store to replace it with a good brand !

I was promised delivery on Sept 5, but didn't get it until the 11th. 3 days after the date I needed it by for my sister & brother-in-law's 40th anniversary. I was very dissapointed. Don't give delivery dates that aren't going to happen. Bad mistake!!

Very pleased with my new wine cooler. I placed it where my garbage compactor once existed and it fits perfectly leaving about 3" space around it which is what this product requires. The wine is cooled just right and I love the soft blue inside lights that can be turned on and off via an inside switch. Just purchased so I can't comment on whether it's energy efficient. Thank you Hayneedle!!!!

I would not have purchased this item had I known the following information: Koolatron's web site information on this unit states the following: "...the 6 Bottle Wine Cellar allows you to easily select any temperature between 44F and 64F...". It was this information that sold me on the unit. However, it does not work as stated. The cooling temperatures are fixed, 57 degF for the Red Wine setting and a colder one for the white wine setting (I don't know the actual temperature for the white wine setting because I only drink reds). There is no way to adjust the temperature differently. I find 57 degF way too cold for the heavier red wines I drink. Thus, I have to let the bottle sit at room temperature for a while before I can drink the wine. Very inconvenient. This is a good unit if you like the pre-set fixed temperature settings, 57 degF for the red wine setting (I don't know what it is for the white wine setting because I don't drink white wine). Otherwise, if you really want to be able to adjust the temperatures, purchase another unit that truly provides adjustable temperatures.

I purchased the unit to install it in the cabinets during a remodel ( made sure I had the 5 inches clearance in the rear). When installing in an enclosed cabinet you need to make sure that you have good ventalation. The cabinet was fully enclosed (certianly not air tight) so I needed to install a vent opening because the unit would only cool to 60 degress and the cabinet was getting pretty warm. Once the vent was installed the unit functions perfectly, very quiet and looks great

This was a gift for my girlfirend and she absolutely loves it. The design is perfect and compact to leave on the kitchen counter. She is a huge wine person and just couldn't believe I surprised her with it. It fits perfect in our kitchen, just the right dimensions. Love the handle design and the light although wish it wasn't yellow, maybe purple or something cool.

I found two significant problems with the product. First, the dimensions of the cooler are not as advertised. This was a problem for me because, as I waited for delivery, I built a cabinet and wanted a certain combined height for cabinet and cooler. Second, the cooler did not sit solidly on a level surface. The right rear leg was not assembled properly and I had to accommodate this. Once these issues were resolved, the unit seems to perform as advertised. I have a larger unit downstairs and use this to stage bottles we'll be drinking in the near term.
