The classic functionality of Mr. Coffee's 12 Cup Coffee Maker helps you make rich tasting, brewed coffee expertly. This coffee maker has a built-up auto pause mechanic that stops brewing when you remove the carafe and resumes brewing again the moment you put it back. It also features a removable basket filter that lifts out for quick and easy filling and cleaning. Whether you want a single cup or 12, this no fuss automatic coffee maker will deliver the goods, time after time.

The coffee maker does not use the previously mentioned traditional method of routing the water over a heating coil under the warming plate invented by Marotta, Abel, and Schulze. Instead, a small flash boiling chamber flash heats the water to deliver the water to the beans within a temperature range of 195–200 °F. Heating the water this way allows 10 cups to be brewed in generally less than eight minutes, depending on the barometric pressure. Once brewed the coffee stays warm in a thermal carafe without requiring a heating plate which could potentially burn the coffee. This coffee maker, engineered and designed by TEAMS Design USA and the Jarden team, won a Red Star Award in 2010 and an Appliance Magazine EID Award in 2011.  More recently, Mr. Coffee has licensed the Keurig K-cup technology to introduce a line of single serve hot beverage machines. Also recently introduced, the Mr. Coffee Cafe Latte brews coffee as well as whips in steamed milk in one step.

Auto-Pause Mechanic

The Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Coffee Maker features an auto-pause mechanic that stops brewing when the carafe is removed and automatically resumes when it's placed back. This convenient feature allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete without creating a mess. The auto-pause function also ensures that you won't have to wait for the entire pot to brew if you're in a hurry. Plus, the brewing process will continue seamlessly once you return the carafe to its place, giving you a fresh and hot cup of coffee every time.

Flash Heating System

The Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Coffee Maker uses a unique flash heating system to heat water quickly and efficiently. This method delivers the water to the coffee grounds at a temperature range of 195-200 °F, which is ideal for extracting the best flavor and aroma from the beans. Thanks to this flash heating system, the coffee maker can brew up to 10 cups in less than eight minutes, depending on barometric pressure. Another advantage of this heating system is that it eliminates the need for a heating plate, which could potentially burn the coffee and alter its taste.

Thermal Carafe

The Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Coffee Maker comes with a thermal carafe that keeps the coffee hot for several hours without the need for a heating plate. This feature helps to prevent the coffee from burning and ensures that the coffee maintains its flavor and aroma for a longer period. The thermal carafe is also easy to clean and maintain, as it can be washed in a dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water. Additionally, the carafe is made of high-quality materials that are durable and resistant to scratches, dents, and other types of damage. The thermal carafe also adds to the overall sleek and modern design of the coffee maker, making it an attractive addition to any kitchen.

Award-Winning Design

The Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Coffee Maker is more than just a reliable brewing machine; it is also a recipient of the Red Star Award in 2010 and the Appliance Magazine EID Award in 2011 for its exceptional design. Engineered and designed by TEAMS Design USA and the Jarden team, the coffee maker features a sleek and modern look that complements any kitchen decor. The design is not only visually appealing but also functional, with user-friendly features such as the auto-pause mechanic and removable basket filter for easy filling and cleaning. The coffee maker's award-winning design is a testament to the commitment of the manufacturers to create a high-quality product that exceeds customer expectations.

This is our second coffee pot of the same model. It is basic, easy to use and easy to clean. This one held the plastic smell for a couple of weeks but now has released that odor. Little can go wrong with a basic model.

Someone finally realized the old style design the overflow holes on the back didn't match the volume of water of the pot itself. This problem has been fixed. 2)The old design had kind of a "Puke, rest, puke, rest, puke, rest" cycle when making coffee. This design is a continuous stream of hot water to the coffee resulting in a much better flavor. The grey stripe on the front is marketing trying to justify a paycheck. Performance over looks guys. I'm not sure if the old carafe's vs the new ones are interchangeable or not- or even if the top lid of the carafe is interchangeable. Nice machine even if a bit overpriced ($26, free shipping vs. $18 at Walmart at a Christmas sale) UPDATE 06/27/2020- power switch seems to be acting up. We'll see

I know the individual cup coffee makers are popular, but my husband likes more than one cup in the morning. Having purchased the Mr. Coffee brand before from the store, I did not hesitate to purchase this coffee maker. A great brand, good size pot, and great value for the price.

I was kind of expecting more, but this is just slightly better than the coffee machines you get in cheapy hotel rooms. It's definitely easy to clean, as there's not much to it. The taste of the coffee is a bit bland, but I brewed a 10 cup with a filter of grounds...maybe it would be less bland if brewing smaller volume?...but then what's the point of having it be a 12 cup?? I guess you get what you pay for. There's only 1 button to operate it so, less chance of it breaking.

If you're looking for a SUPER basic coffee machine, this one's for you!

Coming from a Keurig machine, I find it an improvement. I figured out the correct ratio of coffee-to-water to make a single cup just like my Keurig. Flavor is excellent and has less of a burnt flavor that my K-cup machine had though my K-cup had a "Strong" feature that brewed an extra strong cup of coffee. This one doesn't. Happy that I no longer have to buy those k-cup paper filters that are ridiculously overpriced. Now I pay like $2.00 for 200 filters as opposed to nearly $10 for a 100 pack of the K-cup filters. It's a rip off.

Making coffee is simple in this basic coffee maker. The carafe is made of thin glass so I have to be very careful with it. It's marked on carafe and coffee maker how much water to add. The basket comes out for easy grounds disposal. Other thing I dislike is that the lid to the reservoir is huge, and I like to leave mine open to air-dry after I use it to prevent mold, but the lid won't fit under my kitchen cabinets when it's open.

Sometimes, in today's society, with our 87 button espresso makers, option-filled microwaves, and fancy internet connected fridges, it's nice to have a dumb machine that just makes coffee. That's what this is, a dumb machine that makes coffee, and well. Just be sure to turn off the burner when you're done - there's no auto shutoff.

This coffee pot makes a great cup of coffee !

Even though it brews 12 cups it is compact & easy to use.

The only reason I took a star off is that it is really chinsey looking ! Very cheap materials and not very impressive to display on the countertop !

Otherwise it’s a great value.......get what you pay for - right ?!!

I couldn't wait for my Mr. Coffee to arrive today. My 30 year old white Mr. Coffee passed away several days ago. Thank you, Amazon for getting it to me so quickly. Love Prime! My new one is black and beautiful which goes with my black stove. I like tea but not when I just wake up. I really missed my coffee. This 80 year old lady had no trouble taking it out of the box and following the instructions. The brewing was perfect. My last coffee had "bells and whistles" that I never used. My new Mr. Coffee just has the on and off button. I really love the taste and how fast it brews. I am not a coffee addict however, I love my coffee in the morning. You are going to laugh but I use 1 large Tablespoon of coffee to 12 cups of water. Yes, I like it weak. I also make a pot and warm a cup or two in the microwave until I have used up all the coffee in the pot. I know you are still laughing. That's just me. When I am in restaurants, I always ask for separate coffee and hot water pots. Do I recommend this Mr. Coffee? I sure do!

Recently I purchased this model coffeemaker but haven’t used it yet .

One feature it is missing is a ‘strong brew’ control . Not a problem

Because I can always add more coffee to the basket and realize pretty

much the same result . My comment is that no reference was made to

the ‘Made in China’ feature . I am trying to buy products American-made

or manufacture in countries friendly to the United State . This is a

feature I would like to see throughout Amazon , but is most likely an

unrealistic desire . I just want others to look into that issue . I will update

review after use .

Simple, basic, great pot. I buy this one specifically because it doesn't shut itself off. A lot of people like an auto-shut off, but I don't. This one does NOT have auto shut off, so if you want that, you need a different pot, but if you're like me and you don't like that feature, this is our pot.

This is your basic drip coffee pot and it works just fine for me. The last Mr. Coffee I had lasted more years than I can count and hoping this one gives me good service as well. Can't go wrong with the price, coffee taste or the ease at which it works.

This is pretty much everything I expected it would be. I didn't want any fancy programmable nonsense, so this is perfect!

The instructions are simple, and I like how the instructions suggest using four cups of white vinegar to remove mineral deposits every 80 cycles instead of an expensive cleaning solution.

Some people complain about the "cheap plastic" feel to this, but I like the fact that it is lightweight. My kitchen is rather small, so I'm keeping the coffee maker on the same counter where I use my cutting board. It's a bit too tall to open the lid while the coffee maker is under the cabinet, but since it is so lightweight, I can simply pick it up and move it forward when I want to prepare it for use.

The one thing I don't like about it is that the lid doesn't latch, and it's not heavy enough to settle in place firmly. It just feels weird to me to have that slightly open, but I'll get used to it.

After using a grinder for whole beans and a coffee press / steeper for the last year, I missed my drip coffee maker.

Went for the classic Mr. Coffee, wanted to save money instead of an expensive Bunn, and it's the same reliable, consistent pot of coffee every time. I'm now using fresh ground beans for my drip, and bottled water, instead of sink water and canned grounds. The difference is immeasurable, and I actually prefer my drip maker coffee this way to the overly heavy taste and residue I was getting from my pressed coffee. Glad I'm back to this coffee maker.

This Mr. Coffee is a winner. It will run circles around other brands and even the Mr. Coffee with the automatic timer. What is great about this pot is you can take all the time you want to drink a pot of coffee and no auto shut off and cold coffee when you want the next cup! The hot plate finally gave out on my last one after more than 8 years of constant, heavy use. Kudos to Mr. Coffee!

I love this coffee maker!!! So easy to use! We buy high- end whole beans and grind them ourselves. We have an expensive coffee maker that got jammed. I bought this quickly, as I grew up with Mr. Coffee, and honestly, this makes better coffee, with fresh ground beans, than our high-end coffee maker. Love it!

I've owned many coffee making machines in my time. I have Keurigs galore and have had many other single serve style machines over the years. By popular vote, I've replaced the Keurig currently in our shop for employee use, with this little cutie. Everyone is happy. Not sure what it is about it, but it brews the best tasting cup of coffee... and the price doesn't hurt either.

Four stars. This is a well-priced machine. It heats up water, and makes it rain down on the ground up seeds of a heavenly plant, producing a morning nectar worthy of the Gods.

That's it. No frills. No clock to flash 12:00 forever.

I am fine with all of that, except for the heat plate time-out. If you don't turn the rocker switch off, the heat plate will stay on indefinitely. I have this machine in my office, and the last two mornings, I have gone to make coffee only to find the dregs from yesterday simmering at a temperature just short of the surface of the sun.

For the price, you can’t go wrong. I’ve used a few different coffee makers over the years. I finally realized that the expensive options didn’t brew the coffee any better and weren’t as reliable. As a result, I give my brother one of these every Christmas. His house is full of coffee addicts and they probably brew 3-6 pots a day during the week and more on weekend. It’s the right combination of tech, cost, and reliability. It has enough features to be helpful, but not to make it too complicated or prone to failure. My brother’s house was going through the cheaper makers every couple of months. This option usually last the entire year! I’ve had one of these for 10+ years, but I don’t use it daily.

We bought a similar coffee maker from a retail store 5 years ago and it worked just great. We make a pot every morning and than use our Keurig for individual cups the rest of the day. The only issue with the old one was that the warming plate degraded to the point thyat we were afraid to continue using although it still brewed perfect coffee.

We expect the same of this one but will be more carefull in wiping off spills from the warming plate.

No, there aren't any bells and whistles, but I swear this is my favorite coffee pot. It's a straight forward, 12-cup coffee pot with a glass carafe and a flat bottom filter. I've used this without any leaking or issues. I feel like for me, the more complicated a coffee pot, the more issues I have. So this one is perfect. The downside is that you can't set the coffee maker to go off at a certain time, but that's a small issue.

I ordered the plain jane version of this coffee maker because we no longer need an automatic start in the mornings. Did not realize that this also meant there was no automatic shut off. We have adapted to the need to manually shut off the pot but do not like it. It seems to get too hot if we do not shut it off by 2 hours.

I got tired of my Uber modern digital coffee maker- it would overflow or not do what it’s supposed to do. So I wanted a simple old-fashioned coffee maker, instead of a computerized coffee maker. And this fit the bill- it makes coffee super easily. I don’t have to write codes or do programming to make a few cups of coffee for me and my family. I can simply enjoy the simplicity of coffee making without getting frustrated.

I use the gold screened filter basket which is reusable. Perfect! Easy to use; never had any coffee left standing around - average 10-12 cups a day and it's already gone within the hour! Only side-effect is ... the AROMA (Smell) will surround the entire house... whatcha waiting for? Start brewing and get out of the way! :)

This coffee maker is is a workhorse. In my house, our coffee maker never turns off. 3 heavy coffee drinkers on different schedules.

After years of replacing more expensive coffee makers due to use, we bought this cheaper model. 2 years later we bought another to keep on hand just in case. Our first one is still going strong, 8-10 pots of coffee a day, everyday.

I have had a few programmable coffee pots over the years and they all seem to fail on the display, making it impossible to tell if they are even on most of the time. This coffee pot has a simple on off switch that makes it pretty obvious that it is either on or off. As a bonus to that, because it has the switch, it can be connected to a smart outlet to control its on/off cycle.

There must be more people like me out there - and Mr. Coffee heard our morning mutterings. This is a great coffee maker. It's big, black, and beautifully designed for pouring without getting either water or coffee on the counter. It holds 12 cups of super hot coffee, and it doesn't turn itself off halfway through the pot. Having put up with inferior makers after emergency runs to Dollar Store, I am home to stay. Hottest cup I've had in years! I can see the button! And there is only. one.

This coffee machine is simple and easy to operate. It's a great price! I didn't even have to read the manual..it's self-explanatory and easy. Just put a filter in and some coffee. Fill it with water, turn it on and you're good to go! It works excellent! It's a simple 12-cup coffee pot. It takes regular coffee filters. It makes coffee fast! Would definitely recommend! Smells great waking up to morning coffee! If you're looking for a coffee pot that's simple, great quality and a great price, this is it! 110 % recommend!

Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Coffee Maker, Black !!!

This is to replace the old one that was 16 years old.

It is hard to find a simple coffee maker that will

IT WAS STILL WORKING AFTER 16 YEARS ....

I needed a coffee maker to last me the next 3-4 months before my move, so definitely not trying to get fancy with it. After reading reviews of all sub-$30 coffeemakers I did not have much hope for this but was pleasantly surprised.

Yes it seems cheap and flimsy, the plastic parts don't seem to quite click together the way you'd like them to. But this hasn't caused any issues yet. Easy to set up, use, and clean, and the plastic smell has dissipated very quickly. I recommend running water through it once or twice first though. It makes a perfectly serviceable cup of coffee and I'm not disappointed in the least. It's not my personal permanent solution but I do feel I got my money's worth... so far.

Note: if you leave it on to keep the coffee warm for a while it will tend to make semi-demonic gargling noises. These aren't that loud and don't disturb me personally as I'm not often sitting around in the kitchen. If you want something quiet this is not for you.

Great coffee pot. As with all plastic ones, first few uses has that plastic smell (I didn't drink from it, just ran many runs of water through it before I actually drank some coffee), but quickly disappears. This is wicked easy to use and clean. Just wipe the outside with your choice of cleaning implement and run dilluted vinegar water through it when you see build up in the tank. Run a few water cycles through it after that and it is coffee time again. That simple ...

I bought this because it was a simple coffee maker, with an on/off switch. I wanted to pair it with my 'smart plug'. THAT didn't work out. (Still trying to set it up). I didn't think the constantly on was a good idea, but it turned out great. Time flies when I'm on my computer, or watching tv, so it's nice to have hot coffee all the time.

This coffee maker does what it's supposed to and that's just fine. This isn't a knock on the machine but I prefer the Melitta Filters to the flat bottomed ones. Having the visual guide for the amount of water is a nice feature. A not so nice feature is that the lid when lifted makes the coffee maker stand very high so it needs to be pulled far enough forward to keep the top from hitting anything. Other than that it's simplicity itself. There are no goo gaws on this it's just what it say it is.

I picked this coffee maker because it is simple to use, easy to maintain and delivers a good cup of coffee everytime. It is the latest, slightly more refined version of the original Joe DiMaggio original that kicked off the drip coffee craze in America. It works - just like it always did, is consistent in its output and does not require a whole lot of work to get it going in the AM. It feels solid, looks good with any décor and does not take up a lot of space. You can't go wrong.

All coffee makers pretty much do the same thing: drip hot water over ground coffee in a filter and deposit it into a carafe.

This one is easy to use, easy to clean and quick to make coffee. The one drawback as others have noted is the lack of an automatic shutoff. I got white out of nostalgia for ones my parents had back in the Joe DiMaggio spokesman era.

A good value.

This coffee maker is simple but practical.

Other coffee makers can cost a lot more. For the price this is solid.

Make sure to clean the pot, basket and run a water cycle upon first use. There's chemicals from the factory judging by the smell.

This just has one on and off switch. It's super simplistic.

It has a compartment for the plug in case you want to store or move it.

These use your conventional basket filters. Which can be found for cheap on here.

Overall good buy for a 12 cup. Will update my review if anything changes.

We needed a simple on/off coffee maker that would work with my Wyze smart plug. This coffee pot does just that and it's easy to use, consistently flavorful coffee, easy to clean, compact (takes less space on my kitchen counter). My bedroom is on the 2nd floor so I can turn on my coffee pot via my Wyze smart plug when I drag myself out of bed in the morning. My coffee is hot and ready when I get downstairs to the kitchen. Note the Wyze smart plug to the right of the pot. Love it

I don't understand all the complaints about how cheaply it is made. People complaining it breaks after 2 years. I bought a 4-cup in 2014. It lasted 5 years. Bought this one in February, still going strong. My 4-cup cost me $13.00. 12-cup cost me $25.00. So, it cost me $2.60 a year investment for the 4-cup. And if I get 5 years out of the 12-cup, that's $5.00 a year investment. Bargain! And I make coffee daily.

I guess purchasers aren't taking care of them properly. I thoroughly flush the maker every two months by running cheap vodka through it. You can use white vinegar but that smells, and you have to flush it with water two more times afterward.

This is an inexpensive coffee maker, true. But I've never had an issue with these coffee makers. Take proper care of it and it will last. Or buy something more expensive and stop complaining.

This was a great price and is working just fine. I like it. But it isn't very easy to clean (I think I just notice the dirt on this one more because it's white -- my previous one was black), and it can be a bit tricky to keep the filter from folding over and getting grounds into my coffee when I make just one cup. Took me a few weeks to get the hang of putting the filter in just right so it wouldn't fold!

My husband says get me a Mr. Coffee they are easy to use so I did. It seems fine with the exception of I put the correct amount of water in for 12 cups, put a filter in, the coffee in, and the water seems like it is going to over flow if I didn't put something under the little water spigot. I use the Maxwell House ground coffee and the grounds are fine. It drips very, very slow. Do I need to get Mr. Coffee filters or can I use any? These don't seem any different from any other filter. I have switched using a filter to using a permanent filter and it is the same very slow. He says to just put in 10 cups of water instead of 12 and it won't overflow. Uhhhh I bought the 12 cups so we could have 12 cups since we drink so much coffee.

This coffee pot is simplicity personified. Just open add water, filter, add coffee grounds of your choice, close and then turn on. There is nothing simpler than that. Only problems I have had was forgetting to turn it off before either leaving the house or going to bed. The coffee burned but the pot was easy enough to clean. So if you get this you could either get a timer to plug into or just remember to turn it off when you walk away for a while. Still a very good but I think

Man! do I love gadgety appliances! The more settings, knobs, dials, and wifi interfaces the better. This thing is amazing in everything that it controls. Once you determine which receptacle to put coffee grounds in, and then which receptacle to put water in, it has, get this... a SWITCH that you push to automatically start the coffee making process!

I also discovered through trial and error that the switch thingy gives you multiple brewing options... You can push the switch into the OFF position, plug the cord into an electrical outlet, do the grounds/water setup I described earlier, and then push the switch to the ON position. The coffee maker will then deliver upto 12 cups of nice, hot, normal coffee in short order. When you are all done making, drinking, and staring at the leftover coffee you don't want to drink, you can then push the switch back into the OFF position. The machine will then enter a "sleep mode" waiting for new brewing commands. (I think this is the manufacturer's prefered operating procedure.) OR... You can leave the switch in the ON position and control the brewing process by simply plugging and unplugging the cord from the outlet. (That way it works just like my old percolator.) Amazing!

This is a no frills coffee maker. The water basin is easy to fill, but difficult to clean. The coffee pot has a unique plastic lid that mates with a stopper so you can pull out the pot during brewing to pour a quick cup without any spilling onto the hot plate below. There is no timer on the basic model, just a simply rocker switch. Brews an entire pot within 10 minutes with luke warm tap water. I'd recommend purchasing the wire mesh filter basket for this as paper filters can trap coffee grind oils which enhance the flavor of any coffee. IF you break your glass coffee pot, replacement pots for this maker cost upwards of $25 on Amazon and $15 at Target because of the unique lid, generic coffee pots wont work with this coffee maker. Best off buying another brand new coffee maker than overpaying for the replacement pot.

I wanted to wait awhile to review this. I have had Mr Coffee makers all my life and they have always worked very well. I was shocked however, when I found this coffee maker online with such a slew of varying reviews. I bought the white coffee maker and it has worked well for almost 9 months without a single problem. Sometimes I will brew 3 pots of coffee a day, and this workhorse has no issues doing it. I will do an update at the 1 year mark.

Perfect! Basic simple with one simple switch to operate. Had stupid clocks on my last several that I never really needed that were always flashing and needed to be reset. Never needed timers either. Takes only a few minutes to make a full pot of coffee anyhow so what's the point. Love this machine, cheap and works as well as any. My old coffee pots from previous machines also fit this one too.

Ok just wanted a simple 12 cup coffee maker. Believe to much buttons ads too many oppertunities for it to break down. This works great. Yes have issues with the grounds but that is easily remedied. Just add one of those metal mesh filters and keep it in the basket along with your paper filter. It catches the grinds and keeps them out of your cup. To be fair we used more expensive brands and had that problem with all of them. Our pot is on from 5am till 4pm every day. Just alot of people in and out all day and we usually replace ever 2 years. This brand has lasted the longest so we have stuck with it.

It seems like it is getting harder to find a good, simple, plain and cost friendly coffee maker, but this one does the trick. We are happy with it for the value. It is easy to clean and use. And I like that it has cord management it in the back, that was nice surprise so I can shove the whole cord back in for storage or just enough of the cord to keep it out of the way.

Inexpensive, easy to use, it fits under the upper cabinets, makes coffee pretty quick. It's lightweight, the carafe is easy to pour from without spilling. It's easy to put the coffee grounds in without spilling. It's easy to fill without overflowing. Most of the packaging was biodegradable. It doesn't have any extra features to throw in a landfill when you're done with it. It has no clock, so you don't have to reset the clock all the time. You do have to push the button to start the coffee, but you don't have to wake up expecting coffee and be disappointed because you didn't set it the night before. It has pause and serve. It won't impress your friends, but keep in mind that the light weight and small size also saves fuel when shipping. All in all, a very good choice and you will enjoy your coffee!

For years now I've been using and happy with my percolator; it seemed like the best and most traditional way to brew coffee. But I'm tired of cleaning the darn thing and all its pieces. So. I thought I'd give this drip coffee maker a trial and I love it, so far. I grind my own coffee so I can still regulate the strength and taste. This maker is just so easy. You don't mess with the grinds at all and it's so easy to clean and everything that comes out of it is biodegradable. I really do love it.

I had a 4-cup Mr. Coffee maker for years and it finally died which made me sad because there's just me and I drank a whole pot every morning. When ordering a replacement I decided to buy the 12 cup just in case I ever need to make more than just enough for myself. My other pot had the clock and the capability of setting the coffee to make and be ready in the morning. I never used those and wanted just a basic coffee maker. I like this one very much and hope it lasts as many or more years as my previous one. I've had fancy name brand coffee makers in the past but find Mr. Coffee is just as good without the added expense. I'm very pleased that I received it in two days!

This coffeemaker is very easy to use. Just add water, coffee grounds, and turn it on. I am worried about leaving it on all day, as it doesn't appear to have an auto shut off. I will most likely be getting another coffee maker because of that reason. The coffee gets extra hot from the heating plate, which is nice until it starts to burn the coffee. I feel like it works well for the price.

Have had a French Press for years and finally got tired of the coffee always getting cold before we were done so decided to put that away for a while and just get an inexpensive coffee maker. This fit the bill and works beautifully. It's not worth deducting a star for but, there is one thing I'm not overly happy about. The on/off switch is in the front, which past mishaps with other makers have had and if the pot ever over-flows it will most likely fry the switch. Hasn't happened yet but, at this price if it does it's no biggie to replace. Mr. Coffee scores again!

For the money it's decent and reasonably priced but has one unforgivable design flaw and that is it's almost impossible to insert the coffee pot back in. The flow shutoff valve is terrible, flimsy and way too long making the pot stick in place when inserting, ugh!

Here's the fix, remove the valve by just pull straight out the bottom! Make sure to save it just in case you ever want to go back to the original design. With the valve removed the pot can be removed and inserted effortlessly. Caution!...before having that first morning cup of coffee make sure to let all the water completely perk out of the pot until there is no dripping going on. I'm absolutely not advising you to do this, use your own discretion and please be a responsible adult.

I already own a Mr Coffee which works great. I wanted a second one in my apt just in case something happened to the first one. Mr Coffee is a very good brand and highly regarded in the industry and in my home. I look forward to using it but by the time the old one breaks....I will most probably have given this one away as a gift.

Having used Mr. Coffee for years, the old one failed. Replaced it with a new Mr. Coffee and it failed in days because steam was coming up in the reservoir. So I tried again with Mr. Coffee.

This one is making coffee and so far has not failed. I reduced it by two stars because the gage of the plastic is very thin and sharp edges everywhere. I was able to sand off all the sharp edges to make it safe. The second star was for the smell. When the coffee is done and the plastic is hot it smells like old glue. I thought this might go away after a while, but not so far.

In general the quality is just not what it used to be.

My wife and I drink instant coffee so the coffee maker is used exclusively to heat water. It is the second Mr. Coffee product that we have owned. The previous model was used for hours each day and lasted for better part of a decade.

The coffee maker draws about 900 watts while brewing, however, power utilization becomes nearly non-existent thereafter. I'm sure a lesser amount of power is needed during intermittent subsequent heating of the base plate. The feature that my wife and I use the most is drip interruption during brewing. Fortunately, the coffee maker is devoid of most other non-essential features that mandate careful reading of an instruction manual.

My wife and I enthusiastically recommend this product. When it stops working several years from now, we will most probably replace it with another Mister Coffee product.

First, the good news: This coffeemaker delivers HOT coffee. That's worth mentioning, because I am accustomed to coffeemakers that offer up lukewarm coffee.

Now, the bad news: No matter how much or how little coffee I make, the coffeemaker takes at least 20 to 25 minutes to finish. All the while, it gurgles loudly and makes an annoying churning sound like some sort of ancient boiler system or perhaps a sea monster with allergies. On Sunday mornings, we make coffee and watch political talk shows. At times, the coffeemaker threatens to drown out the pundits (not that this is necessarily a bad thing). But still.

I chose this coffee make because it was simple to use (just an on/off button, no timers etc) and because it is supposed to have a "pause and pour" feature. I'm too impatient to wait until the pot has finished brewing for my first cup of coffee so this is a "must have" for me. Unfortunately, the feature doesn't work too well on this machine. No matter what I try, several drips of coffee pour out while I am filling my cup. Other than that it works fine, makes good coffee and was inexpensive.

I've tried so many coffee makers from the most complicated to the easiest. This is the easiest. I don't need any features, not even a clock. It has an on and off switch and that is all I need. It comes with one reusable filter basket but I ordered another for convenience. I love the simplicity and it is very easy to clean as the urn is wide open and can get thoroughly washed in the dishwasher. I love the little "hot water spigot arm" that comes into place as you close the lid to the water reservoir. Inexpensive but just perfect. Thank you, Mr Coffee!

We have had purchased the brand name coffee makers over the years like Cuisinart, Keurig, Ninja, etc. They have all kinds of settings and bells and whistles that we never used or wanted. We paid upto 300 dollars for these state of the art coffee gizmos and they cost extra to replace and they never seemed to make consistently good coffee and were too complicated for that early morning brew. We came back to Mr. Coffee, you remember the Joe Dimaggio endorsement, and paid, in some cases, less than on tenth of what the designer brands cost. Its simple, its fast, it has only 3 parts and it brews the best coffee we have had since our last Mr. Coffee maker. Save your money!

It works! It's utterly simple to use. For a marvel, the carafe doesn't spill a bit when you're pouring.

As is traditional in the coffee business, the measurements are complete lies. A "coffee cup" is defined as 5 fl. oz. This unit makes up to 7.5 genuine 8 oz cups at a time.

I was looking for a budget coffee maker to take on a vacation with the family. We drink 10-12 cups in the morning combined. This was just right. It brewed the coffee without burning it. I actually liked that we had to manually switch the heating unit off. That is how our expensive MochaMaster at home works. We only purchased this unit because I didn't want to travel with our larger unit. I was surprised at what a great cup of coffee this little unit can brew. We didn't really miss our $350 MochaMaster that much. Makes me wonder why the heck I spent all that money on it. Buy this instead. It works well and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

Thank goodness, Mr. Coffee still makes a product that has an easily removed basket to clean out the grounds! We purchased a similar Mr. Coffee (see our review) that had no basket requiring you to remove the bin. The pin holding the bin were fragile and removing the grounds troublesome. Plus the bin door popped open once spilling coffee all over our floor. That coffee maker is now in our trash! This one is perfect!

When searching for a simple drip coffee machine (after owning thousand dollar espresso machines), I wanted something for just regular daily coffee. Reading through the reviews, I was a little thrown off as you’ll always see negative comments on every product out there. But I am very pleased with this one. No issues at all, no malfunctions, so easy to clean, does it’s job & makes great coffee. So happy with it!

The glass this pot is made of is very thin. I usually buy a new coffee maker once a year because I like the taste of a new pot. This one didn't last two months. I washed it as usual, by hand, then went to use it the next day. There was a fine crack down the pot, and several small chips around the neck. Piece of junk.

My last Mr.Coffee lasted over 10 years.

It still actually does work, but there’s a crack in the ring around the heat plate the pot sits on.

I figured it’s time to replace for safety sake, so it will be my backup coffee maker now.

I don’t like the new rounded design but that has nothing to do with

the way it makes a great cup of coffee, I just don’t like it.

It’s irritating.

Hence the four star rating.

I mean, why redesign an already great design?

Likely just an unnecessary corporate decision to give someone something to do.

I didn't read the description carefully enough: this coffee maker does NOT have an auto shut-off feature. It does have a green light on the front letting you know that it is still on... But I sent mine back as soon as I realized it. A friend lost his business when the building burned down due to a coffee maker (different brand) left on overnight. I have also has a few close calls. When the water in the brewed coffee eventually evaporates, and the burner continues to heat the carafe, the resulting coffee residue can burn I won't take the chance.

The reason why I bought this Mr. Coffee machine was that I needed a new carafe since the one that I had before developed a small crack. I knew it was a matter of time before the carafe would become unusable so I looked up twelve (12) cup carafes for the Mr. Coffee machine I owned. It cost about $27 with the tax. Then I saw this machine which included the carafe for almost the same price! Something's wrong with the idea of the carafe costing almost the same as the entire machine/carafe, but I figured it was a better deal. I found that the quality of Mr. Coffee machine (in this model anyway) has been manufactured cheaper than in the past, which isn't surprising knowing how some companies treat their customers. The material that the machine is comprised of seems to be inferior, and feels lighter, and therefore cheaper, than in models I've purchased in the past. I'll have to keep both items for now, I will spend a little more and look for a superior coffee machine next time.

this is exactly what you expect, works great no issues here, makes coffee just as good as some commercial ones ive used, if you want best coffee, you need to do the by hand slow drip method, but i dont have the time nor care enough to have 3-5% better tasting coffee for all that work - both methods when said and done are about the same price as far as equipment

its a little wonky when you try to calculate the amount of coffee to put in the device as it makes 12 -5 ounce cusp of coffee. my normal cup is 8 ounces. my normal mug is 20 ounces. so a full pot of coffee makes about 3 or 4 cups of normal size cups of coffee. other than thank it works as advertised.

I got tired of buying more expensive coffee makers with clocks and programs that limit how long the burner will stay on with no adjustments and don't last long. This is a cheap coffee maker that has a simple on/off switch and burner stays on until it is turned off. What I wanted was exactly this so that I can put a smart switch on my wall outlet to allow me to set what time I want the coffee to be made every day by using the internets clock and can program to turn off after any time limit I want. I can also tell Alexa to turn or off also if desired at any time. When I go on vacation, it also is programmed to not come on until I turn off vacation mode. This gives me a more reliable programming without having another clock to set or other problems. If this one goes out, no big deal, I replace with another cheap coffee maker and programming still stays the same.

I've been buying this model because it is easy to use and clean and does not have a two hour turn off. This is the fourth time we've bought the coffeemaker because it has about a two year lifespan. This latest purchase this month came with a cracked carafe - looks like the handle clamp was a little too tight. The previous one just died from a fried switch, the one before when the heating element cracked. Considering the price, we don't expect much and have a spare carafes for decaf.

I've been thinking about investing in a coffee machine for a while now. I often take a nightly walk to the gas station (nothing else is open, judge me) in order to get a cup of iced coffee. Lately, I've been so busy with work that I haven't been able to take a half-hour break to do so. I work from home, so having coffee readily accessible is such a huge relief. This is a great, little pot if you don't need anything fancy. I'll probably upgrade to something cool (I'm a trained barista), but for now this definitely works a treat.

I'm very pleased. Coffee is really hot and tasted better than my old coffee maker (not a Mr. Coffee). I decided to buy this one at $29. vs the $17.88 version that looks almost the same due to really good reviews vs. ho-hum reviews. It's not a big footprint, nor is it tall at all.

We make coffee a few times a week, so, I just needed something simple. No timers or clock since I tend to unplug it often. I did purchase a permanent filter as well for just a few bucks so I didn't have to store and use paper filters. The coffee maker has worked just fine. It's easy to use. The pot is large and easy to clean. My mom made herself some coffee at my house and remarked how good it tasted. She has been using a pod coffee maker at her home for some time and really just enjoyed the taste of a good old-fashioned Mr. Coffee cup of coffee. I'm happy with my purchase.

Coming from a coffee maker that costs 10x this one I am very happy with it. I needed a coffee maker while mine was in storage during a move and wanted something cheap and expected to toss it when I move into my new place. After a few days with this one I am thinking I might keep it instead!

Did not expect to like it much.

For $25 cannot get a better coffee pot. Been getting them for years,

July 20th, well, I just had to order a new Mr. Coffee 12-cup Coffee Maker in Black.

the one I bought in October 2017...just kind of died...still...for the money,

maybe I will stop buying these....but for the time being, they work well until they just pass on....

This is my first Mr. Coffee Maker. It delivers 5 Stars on flavor but I had to give four stars since I'm not a big fan of the hidden plug. It is very stiff and was difficult to pull out. Had to use small pliers since the plug was stuck inside. Currently waiting for the frame/disk that sits atop the filter. Ordered it from the Mr.Coffee Website on Labor Day and still waiting.

Overall, the coffee maker works fine so far, delivers big time on flavor;. I also use Folgers, Classic Roast.

This is a well priced and functional product. We've had a number of Mr Coffee products over the years, and used them often. The quality has always been of the nature that you can depend on them to last. Other models that we've had before had lots of "bells and whistles" that we rarelyu used, so this time, we purchased a simple low cost unit, that is working great, and we don't have to reset the clock if the power goes out, since it doesn't have one to begin with.

Simple and easy to use...still great Java!

We are very happy (so far) with this coffee maker - it is pretty basic, which is exactly what we needed. Our last coffee maker gave out, and it like several before it did not last long, we had paid a lot for them and never needed or used half the extras. This coffee maker makes good coffee and stays hot till we are done with the pot. It serves our needs and is not wasted money for extras we won't use.

Why have anything fancier than this? It makes fine coffee - FAST. 95% of the time it's used only in the morning and for just a single mug of coffee, but for that one mug it seems to need a slightly higher ratio of coffee-to-water to get the taste I had from an old Gevalia maker that used a cone-shaped filter. That one still worked, but the water reservoir got looking really nasty and couldn't be reached for scrubbing. So, aside from having to switch to basket-style filters, this was an easy and inexpensive move to cleaner coffee. Oh - one gripe: it as a really short cord, so I have to unplug the unit to park it where I want it between uses.

Literally the simplest design. I can not fathom how people have trouble with it, simple fill the reservoir, place a filter, load with coffee, and switch on. in 5-10 minutes you will have a perfect pot of drip coffee.

The only annoyance I have is that the auto-stop feature, like every other coffee pot I have tried, will let a few drops of coffee out as you pull out the pot.

Gets the job done, and done well. It is featureless and wonderful for this fact. If you need it to program the time, or start automatically, go somewhere else. But if you want a good coffee pot that wont fail you, is easy to clean, and has no issues, then this is your choice, especially if price is a concern, this thing is well worth the money! Have had one for a year now without a single issue.

I wanted a simple coffee maker with no bells and whistles. I have worked in power plants for a lot of years where one to two makers are going at all times and there is nothing worse than a coffee maker that fails on the electronics side and not the heater. This has a simple on/off switch. The downfall is that there is not an auto-off, so if you leave it unattended it'll stay on.

We love this coffee maker. First of all it is inexpensive and you don't have to spend a fortune for a nice hot cup of coffee. The window viewer to see how much water you are placing in unit is large and conveniently placed on both sides. I love that I don't have to put my glasses on to see how many cups of water I need in unit or even to move unit due to viewer only being on one side. It is not programmable but my last coffee maker was and not once did I use that feature. It does not turn on or off by itself but again I truly don't need help with pushing one simple little button. I see the green light when it is on. Quite simple. We are avid coffee drinkers and the coffee is good, hot and fresh. No risk here.

then in AM hit the on button, in a few minute, fresh brewed coffee.

we had this model for several years. then my husband wanted a keurig. i didn't feel that spending $150.00 was justified, but i gave in , and got him one for Christmas. well, it was fun, and easy. but no flavor. we spent a small fortune on different k-cups of coffees. all the same. tasted like warm dish water. also, no aroma. went back to our good old stand by, mr. coffee, and couldn't be happier. i grew up with a mr. coffee maker in my house. bought it for my moms birthday with the money i made from my paper route back in the 70's. i could have bought 6 of these for the price of the keurig. well, live and learn. will never be without one!!!

My Mr. Coffee just like this one died after four or five years. I spent much more time than I should have reading reviews and pondering my choices. I knew I didn't want one of the highly rated three hundred dollar models, but did consider a sixty-five dollar unit until I read negative reviews of it. Finally, I decided to go with the devil I knew, and have no regrets. I don't have any problem with filling the pot in the morning and doing other things in the few minutes it takes to brew, so I don't need a timer. I usually get up at about the same time each day but if I don't I don't want (a)to have to plan the night before for when my coffee should be made or (b)have coffee sitting around waiting for me. Also, while I still prefer coffee made in a Chemex to any other coffee (except for expresso), it's just more trouble than it's worth. I really do think that what you put in the pot determines what comes out for your cup. Good coffee in, good coffee out. Bad coffee in, bad coffee out. A six hundred dollar coffee maker won't improve the taste of cheap coffee grounds and good coffee grounds will make good coffee in this pot.

I'm kind of shocked by the bad reviews. I'm not a coffee expert though..and I'm I like simple machines so maybe I'm just easily impressed but here's my review.

I'm most excited about the fact that this carafe doesn't dribble! My old coffee pots always dribbled when I would pour out of the pot. This one pours exactly where I pour it. No coffee down the side of my cup or water on my counter tops!!

The coffee brews fairly fast and tastes great. It also brews at a hotter temperature than my old ones which is great!! Maybe mine were just way too old.

It's easy to empty the coffee grounds and just has a simple on/off switch which is what I wanted. I'm only 25 years old but I didn't want a programmable latte foam expresso bean grinding mess. Just wanted this machine to brew coffee and it does exactly that!

Just a few notes. The longer you leave it on the hotter the coffee gets. I've burnt my mouth after going back for a second cup after like 45 mins.

The coffee wasn't scorched tasting but definitely hot. So be careful. I have not had any problems with the spring but I read other people did.

Also this coffee maker is so pretty. Glossy clean round pretty machine. I also like that the light is green and not red when it's turned on lol.

I love it.
