Speed Brew Coffee Makers can brew 10 cups of coffee in about 4 minutes because they store hot water in a Stainless Steel Commercial Grade tank. Speed Brew Coffee Makers has taller Funnel which is engineered to accommodate BUNN filters which are ¼ Inch taller than other filters. This unique design allows for the quick flow of water and prevents overflow of coffee grounds. Compared to the other home coffee makers that “burp” water over your coffee grounds as it boils, our tank keeps 70 oz of water at an instantly brew-ready temperature. Speed Brew has a temperature-regulated tank which delivers a consistent ideal brewed pot of coffee compared to other competitor system that can exceed the recommended standard of  200ºF.

Exceptional brewing speed

Designed to brew a full pot of coffee in just minutes, thanks to its advanced brewing technology. Unlike traditional coffee makers, which rely on a slower brewing process, the BUNN (CSB3T) Speed Brew Platinum Thermal Coffee Maker uses an internal hot water tank that heats water to the optimal brewing temperature quickly, allowing it to brew coffee at a much faster rate. This makes it perfect for busy mornings when you need a quick caffeine fix, or for when you have guests over and want to serve coffee quickly. Plus, despite its fast brewing speed, the coffee maker still delivers exceptional flavor and quality, ensuring that you get a delicious and satisfying cup of coffee every time.

Optimal temperature control

Thermal Coffee Maker features an advanced heating system that quickly heats water to the ideal temperature for brewing coffee. This ensures that your coffee is brewed to perfection, with optimal flavor and aroma. Additionally, the temperature control system is designed to maintain the perfect brewing temperature throughout the brewing process, ensuring that your coffee is never over-extracted or under-extracted. With this coffee maker, you can be confident that every cup of coffee you brew will be consistently delicious and satisfying.

Thermal carafe

With its simple and intuitive interface, you can easily program the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time or set it to brew a specific amount of coffee. The coffee maker also features a large, easy-to-read display that shows the time and programming information, making it simple to keep track of your brew. Additionally, the BUNN (CSB3T) Speed Brew Platinum Thermal Coffee Maker is equipped with a thermal carafe that keeps your coffee hot and fresh for hours, without the need for a hot plate. This feature ensures that your coffee stays at the perfect temperature and never gets burnt or bitter, even if you forget to drink it right away.

Sleek and modern design

The BUNN (CSB3T) Speed Brew Platinum Thermal Coffee Maker is designed with quality in mind, constructed with premium materials that ensure durability and long-lasting performance. Its sleek and modern appearance is both stylish and practical, featuring an easy-to-use interface and a sturdy build. The coffee maker is adorned with stainless steel accents that resist staining and maintain a polished finish, adding to the overall durability and elegance of the unit.

I have used Bunn coffee makers for 40 years this is my third thermal fresh, I have had one from each generation. The first two generations were identical except for the carafe both styles had a tendency to drip and spatter as you poured. And you had to be careful not to over fill. This new model is a complete redesign the carafe will hold more coffee than the stated 10 cups I fill the top tray all the way to the edge with no over flow. If you like Coffee and are impatient I strongly recommend this product! A side note you can expect a 10 year life span for the thermo fresh line.

It just brews a great pot of coffee and fast. No bells and whistles, just good coffee brewed fast. The only thing I don't like is that it keeps the reserve of water in the brewer hot all day long so that you can brew at any time. However, I only brew coffee once a day in the early morning. So I just plugged the brewer into a timer that turns it on about 30 minutes before I usually get up so it has plenty of time to heat up the water. Then the timer shuts it off about an hour later and keeps it off until the following morning. That works great for me.

My only issue with this coffee maker is that it stated it was made in the USA. When I washed the carafe the first time and turned it upside down during the rinse there was a label, "Made in China". I was so disappointed that the advertising was false.

We bought this Bunn to replace an old one that started to leak. This design is an improvement on the old style. The pour spout on the thermal carafe is much better and makes it easier to pour the water into the machine and fill your cup. There is now an "indent" where the thermal carafe sits so it can't slide out. The coffee filter area is also deeper and we haven't had any issues with overflow like we had with the old design. Overall, this is a great machine! It brews a perfect pot of hot coffee in 3 minutes flat and the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours.

It is so easy to use and it makes a great pot of coffee and it stays warm in the pot for a long time! I try to clean my Bunn coffee maker often because I have a lot of minerals in my well water. The Bunn coffee makers last a long time and if you need customer service they are great! It's the only coffee pot I have used for over 20 yrs.

Had several Cusinart coffee makers over the years and generally was satisfied with them. That is until we just got this Bunn coffee maker. Wow! I don't know what all the comments about plastic tasting coffee are about, but no plastic taste with this pot. Up and running 20 minutes after taking it out of the box. I'm 70 years old BTW, a vet and old grouch in general so if there was anything even remotely wrong with this coffee maker I'd say so and be making Amazon give my $ back. Plus, I've had a cup or two of coffee in my lifetime and know great coffee when it comes along. This pot makes great coffee. Period. Get this one with confidence. You wont be sorry.

I have used a traditional Bunn coffee maker for s verbal years and when the light indicator finally went out and I accidentally left the burner on 3 times I made up my mind to get one with a stainless carafe. This Bunn has really lived up to my expectations. The coffee flavor is delicious, it is quick brewing, very quiet and the coffee stays hot for at least 3 hours and pretty warm for up to 5 hours. I’m very pleased.

My old coffee pot went out so I got on Amazon to search for a new one. After days of reading reviews I picked this one and I LOVE IT! This is my first BUNN. It does come with some filters and I ordered some as well. Do not plug it in until you read the booklet! I followed the setup directions and it was smooth sailing from there. I love having coffee within minutes now. I’m just very satisfied with this coffee pot. We have the stainless carafe and hours later the coffee is still hot. At seven hours it’s lukewarm. Stop reading reviews and just get it.

If you want a very hot cup of coffee fast, this is the coffee maker for you. This Bunn Speed Brew has NO bells and whistles — no clock, no programming, no beeping that the brewing is completed. Just a good, hot thermos of coffee in 4 minutes. The only downside to this particular model with the thermos is you can’t smell the coffee brewing. If you would miss that particular pleasure in life (and I actually do), Bunn has a model with a glass carafe.

Probably my fault for not reading the description close enough, but this coffee maker is just horrible; especially for the price! It has a well that stays warm and you may think, cool, that sounds efficient; it's not. Instructions are to first fill the well for that immediate hot water scenario. You pour cold water in for a pot and it activates an immediate pour of the "hot" well water. Coffee is not piping hot, is weak, and has a weird egg like smell. I used filtered water from the fridge to see if that made a difference; it did not. Luckily, we stored our Cuisinart which I was swapping only because the plate that the thermos sits on was getting rusty (why a metal plate Cuisinart when its a thermos?). Still, the Cuisinart is far superior and makes great coffee. Hope this prevents someone from spending over $140 for this terrible coffee pot!

We have always loved a "BUNN". The water stays hot in the back all the time, so your coffee brews faster. We bought this one so that we wouldn't have to worry about turning the burner off. It has a thermos type coffee pot with no burner underneath. Your coffee stays hot in the stainless pot. If you do not drink it all in the morning, it is still good later in the day. The coffee never has a burnt or old taste.

I know the design is to have the pot on at all times and it will brew a pot in 4 minutes. I drink about 2 pots a day, and i still dont feel it should be on all day. My problem is if you leave it on all day the coffee is just over warm, if i turn it off and then heat it up when i want coffee it is slightly warmer. The whole point is to have coffee in 4 minutes right? I still want hot good coffee though, and having to warm it up every single brew is more work and takes longer then a 35 dollar Mr coffee maker only the coffee isnt as hot..... I also am a 15 year resturant employee and i will admit your machines are godsends in that environment, but for home use im very unhappy.

Excellent flavor for drip coffee... I do a pourover sometimes but it isn't practical for my husband and I on weekday mornings. We have only been using it for a few weeks so I can't really speak about cleaning it. As for use, it is very simple to brew and so quiet that at first I wasn't sure that it was working! I preheat the carafe with hot water for 30 seconds as recommended... that works fine as I just let that sit while I load the coffee into the filter basket. I suppose the one downside is not having a gold filter in here. One pack of filters will last us for months, but having no waste is good too. All in all, it is a fast, quiet machine that brews excellent drip coffee. We returned an Oxo that had great reviews on websites but didn't perform well for us (or I just couldn't figure it out). This is a simple machine that seems reliable yet uses newer technology to brew a flavorful cup of coffee.

First, sit down and read the instructions. DO NOT PLUG IT IN UNTIL IT IS FULL OF WATER. People who complain about a burned smell obviously skipped this important note. There is nothing complicated at all about this machine. You're not buying a Mr. Coffee (no offense intended). It doesn't work like most machines. First off, there is a reservoir that needs to be filled with water. It holds about two full pots. Once filled slowly until water runs out, THEN you can plug it in. I have the model with the insulated carafe. The only switch on mine is at the right rear. It is called a "vacation switch". If you brew a pot daily, leave it ON. If you don't, it will take the same 15 minutes to heat up that it took the first time. The water is always hot.....that's why it brews so quickly. It can then be turned on (blue LED). This is the normal state of the machine. You will hear noises as the full amount of water gets heated up. This is normal. After 10 - 15 minutes, it is hot and ready to go. Again, this is the normal state of the machine. If you have a pitcher already, you can fill the carafe with water, pour into your pitcher, and mark the water level. Now you have an easy way to pour in the same amount of water every time. My only disappointment was that it didn't come with a pitcher. They used to years ago. They, too, are available on Amazon. While you're at it, order the Bunn coffee filters. They are a quarter inch taller than standard, so as NOT TO SPILL OVER GROUNDS. The extra height allows the grounds to steep in the water longer for a more flavorful brew. Now for the lid. You obviously cannot pour water in without lifting the lid. After you use a BUNN filter, and add the normal amount of coffee you prefer, pour the water into the machine. Below the screen, you will see steps marked for the number of cups you want to brew (10 max). Once you close the lid, an internal valve opens and brewing begins. Three minutes later, you'll have a hot pot of coffee. There is no valve in the brew basket, so be sure to look that it's done brewing before you pull the carafe out. Enjoy!

I loved this product. The kraft kept the coffee hot without burning or loosing flavor for hours. Unfortunatly, I bought 2 of these and with both of them the pump went within 6 months. I have owned many Bunn coffee makers in my life and have never had one last less than 5 years. I bought another Bunn, just not this model

Bought this to replace a 25 yr old Bunn coffee maker. Have always known the Bunn quality was premium. We were very.pleased. The very first cups were so flavorful. The thermal carafe is so much better than a glass pot. It keeps the brew hot and fresh with no hot plate over burn. Looking forward to many morning flavorful cups.

This is a pretty coffee maker if that is important to you. I love that it is super fast at brewing, however since the water drips through faster than most, it requires more ground coffee for the same taste as other coffee makers. I ordered the thermal carafe because I am using it in my camper, so I wouldn’t worry about it breaking during travel. It is hot enough when I have my first cup, but does not remain hot enough for my tastes after that. The speed is amazing though.

I've been using keurig pods for awhile, but they do get expensive. I decided to try this Bunn coffeemaker and I love it! The coffee is very hot, and that is a non-negotiable for me, especially that first morning cup. It's easy to use, attractive, the carafe keeps coffee hot for two hours and you can make either 1/2 pot or a full pot. If you're on the fence, just buy it! (I see from other reviews that they complain about a bad smell...I didn't notice any smell at all.) My husband is going to inherit the Keurig for his garage.

Love that it makes coffee fast and keeps it very hot for hours. Coffee is rarely hot enough for me but now it is, even hours later without being reheated. The carafe is amazing. Great taste and minimal cleaning. Best coffee maker I’ve ever had. (I’m 70 and I’ve had them all).

I wanted to make a change from our keurig carafe brewer because a) i wanted a metal carafe pot and b) one that made mkre than 4-5 cups at a time and faster. A friend recommemded the Bunn brand and my amazon searches began! I landed on this model and i have to say i absolutely love it! We do leave ours on so the water is hot and ready in the morning and so far, i haven't seen a huge surge in the electric bill. It's very easy to clean but you do have to set aside 2 hours where vinegar can sit in the chamber then, fresh water is proud and dispensed in order to flush it out of the system. It was all very easy, though! The carafe pot is AMAZING! Coffee stays hot up to 4 or 5 hours after making it! Absolutely blown away! There's not timer, clock or anythint like that and the model is very sleek on the counter. Doesn't take up too much counter space at all! All in all i highly recommend this model! For the price, it well exceeded expectations!

I love that it provides a good hot cup of coffee, even a few hours after it is brewed. I'm picky about my coffee too, and it brews an excellent cup of coffee. The setup is different than any of my previous coffee makers, so it took a bit of figuring out. I like to set up coffee the night before. For this machine, I fill the pot full of water and set it on the coffee maker stand, then add the filter and coffee grounds to the basket. In the morning I pour the water into the coffee maker, and it takes about 4 minutes to brew of hot pot of coffee. The secret is that it has a pot's worth of water heated in the machine, ready to go. The water that is added displaces the hot water, and starts the brewing process. Drawbacks are that there is no preset timer (but with a 4 minute brew time I haven't needed it), and if I make a half pot of coffee, I need to use a measuring cup for the water, as there are no measuring marks on the pot or on the machine. I also made a mistake once and poured in the water the night before. To remedy that mistake, I kept the machine lid open. There is a little white lever that pops up, and when you close the lid, that is what starts the brewing process. So that night, I kept the lid open, and in the morning I simply closed the lid to start the brewing process. Finally, as the coffee brews the basket fills with water very quickly and higher than other coffee makers. I purchased the Bunn filters which are 1/2 inch higher than regular filters. That has saved me from getting any grounds in my coffee. (I think less than a full pot, regular filters could be fine, but I haven't tried that.) As I said, it isn't a process that most coffee makers use, but with the very hot coffee and excellent flavor, it was a good purchase. I've owned it now for over a month, and used it every day.

Love this. Makes great coffee altho I use more grounds that their "recommended" amount. We grind beans fresh and use filtered water.(have a 'reverse ismosis' filtering system on our water ). Fast & flavorful. Will probably buy another as we have groups over fairly often and they love our coffee! (I have 3 'dead' Cuisinarts that I use just for hotplates as they no longer brew..never buy another one if those!)

DO NOT believe the Chinese seed packet reviews of this item!! This coffee maker is TERRIBLE. I cannot believe that they are getting $150 for this. What a ripoff. Other than the carafe body itself, this entire thing is nothing but chintzy plastic. It is incredibly inconvenient to use. You first have to heat the water for no less than ten minutes before you can start brewing. It always has water in it, and if you want to drain it, you have to haul it over to the sink and drain it from the brew spout. It's touted as a commercial grade coffee maker, but who uses a ten cup coffee maker for commercial purposes?? This is really awful for home use, the coffee doesn't taste right, and it's about three times as expensive as it should be. I went to Target and bought a Mr. Coffee 10 Cup Programmable Thermal Coffee Maker - BVMC-PSTX91. $70 out the door. I already like it better and all I did was unbox it and do a test water brew. The Bunn was even a pain in the neck to repackage for return. I still couldn't get all the water out. Save your money on this one, trust me!! Hot garbage!!

My second Bunn. (The first one is eight years old and going strong, but it is on a moving van somewhere and our daily habit at the coffee hut warranted buying another Bunn.) This Bunn has a thermal carafe rather than a heating plate. Very convenient. I'm finding I like not having to worry if I turned off the hot plate. The coffee-making process is the same: grind beans, add water, drip, enjoy. I think the coffee is a TINY bit too hot when first brewed (too-hot water can bring out bitterness in the beans), but it holds well in the thermal carafe. Also, an attractive unit. I definitely recommend this coffee maker.

I was a little skeptical that not having a pot warmer would be an issue, but I was surprised to see how warm the coffee stays. I made a pot of coffee last night at 7 pm and I forgot to dump what was left before heading to bed. Twelve hours later, although not warm enough to drink, it was still warm this morning. I had a Bunn for years then switched to a Keurig to help me drink less coffee. All I did was increase my coffee expense and still drank 5-6 cups a day. So now, I am back to a Bunn and saving money.

This is the best coffee maker we have ever had (and we have had everything from cheap to pricy). We live at 8500 ft elevation & the Bunn is the first coffee maker that gets water to the right brewing temp & keeps the brewed coffee hot for hours.

Build materials were extremely cheap! Having owned Bunn coffee makers for past 20 years I automatically ordered the newest version of what I have (current one is on the left in the picture) and when that one started leaking from hot water tank I ordered the new speed brewer on the right and it looks like a $20 cheap Coffee maker. The plastic is a lighter non-gloss cheap plastic. The chrome plastic parts look and feel cheap. I am typically all about the output/function of what I buy but when spending $150 and putting it on your calendar, it should look like this. Disappointed with the downgrade in build materials. For the first time in 20 yrs, I’m going to have to take a closer look at a different brand. By the way, I am sure it works fine but I couldn’t get past the look/quality on the outside. Buyer beware.

The tank leaks. I ordered this in Jan, 2019 and within 6 months it leaked. At this point it’s unusable. Loved the coffee and how quickly it brewed but the leaking tank is too much to clean up at this point. For $150 you would think it should last longer than a year.

I'm sitting down with my first cup of coffee from my Bunn Thermal Carafe pot & enjoying it SOOOOOO much! I can actually taste the bean. I add milk & chocolate creamer to my coffee, but even with those extras, I can still taste the bean. The coffee was hot coming out of the carafe & I don't have a negative thing to say about this pot. I've owned 2 other Bunn pots & was never disappointed by the coffee coming from either of them. Looks like another satisfied Bunn customer. I wish there was an mmmmmm rating!

I wont belabor the point; as many have mentioned, you fill up the reservoir on the coffee pot and it stays on all the time and keeps the coffee hot. You add water to the tank which displaces the already hot water that makes your coffee. Seriously brews 10 cups in under 4 minutes. I used it for the 1st time yesterday, and the coffee was hot and tasted very good. Based on the price, I hope it lasts, but so far-so good. I am enjoying the product. One note- read the instructions before you plug it in... it will save you a lot of time.

I just doubled the cost of my coffee, plus the always hot water tank causes the plastic exterior to leave a burnt plastic smell throughout my house. While I do get my coffee twice as fast it came at the expense of doubling the amount of coffee required per pot than my previous slow brewing coffee maker. I was excited when I made my first pot of coffee, I put in the same amount of coffee grounds and same amount of water, as I used in my previous coffee maker, and I received hot water that was slightly brown. After making 10 pots of coffee, over 2 days, holding the amount of water the same and increasing the amount of coffee, it takes about twice the amount of coffee grounds to make coffee that tastes similar in strength to my previous coffee maker.

It’s a Bunn... no beeps, no buttons, and nothing to set. It just makes good hot coffee quickly! Pros: Simple to use Coffee is actually hot Coffee stays hot for quite a while in the thermal carafe It’s fast... Makes a full pot in 4 min Cons: It’s large Filters need to be Bunn filters! The speed at which it operates will overwhelm standard filters if you like strong coffee. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it. I’m likely to be updating this in 10 years if legend holds true.

We have the coffee maker on a stand that slides out just to make it a little easier fill and prep with coffee. We really like the carafe vs the pot to keep the coffee warm over time rather than continually heating. I do find the coffee stays warmer if you warm the carafe with hot water before starting. One thing, the number of cups fill line is where you pour the water in; missed that at first. Bunn quick, Bunn good. This maker is supposed to be less likely to overflow if finer grounds are used.

I am a coffeeholic and I have purchased various coffee makers over the years. The Bunn was a hopeful investment to good coffee in the morning but I just couldn't make it work. The water that comes through the heater system is old. The process of getting fresh water into it is long and just necessary in my point of view.

Reply like this coffee maker. It keeps coffee warm enough to drink for 24 hours! The only thing I don't like is that you can't see how much is in the pot and there is no light to tell you someone has brewed coffee.

This coffee maker functions exactly as expected. The negative reviews are all from people who didn't read the product description. The machine keeps a reservoir of hot water so it can make coffee quickly on demand, if you don't want that, don't by the product. The coffee comes out at a perfect, drinkable (read not scolding), temperature and the carafe keeps it hot for several hours without a warmer. If you need to keep a single pot of coffee scolding hot all day so that when you finally get around to drinking, it tastes burned, don't by this coffee maker. If you want a bunch of useless features like brew scheduling and a digital clock, don't buy this coffee maker. If you want a coffee maker that will cleanly brew a pot in five minutes without burning the coffee, so you can drink it within a few hours, I cannot recommend this coffee maker enough.

I have been a fan of BUNN coffee maker for @least 20 +years especially the newer thermal pot! But lately, they are NOT lasting very long ! I have purchased THREE in the last THREE Years !!!! Nothing against this seller @all but BUNN ! I didn’t complain about the first two pots lasting a year but then after the third one only lasted a year & two months and they have a three-year warranty I decided to call the company ... called several times and they don’t want to hear any complaints whatsoever! The first time I called I was instructed to return it at my own expense and they would “ SEE” if it was something under warranty ... done

I have been using BUNN coffee pots for years, and not surprised this one is just as great. We had a single servce BUNN and needed something larger. This brews quickly and looks great on the counter.

Two years ago, we decided to spend more and get a $200.00 coffee maker, with every bell and whistle. It even came with a travel cup, which it filled individually. I've disliked that maker ever since. Like most current makers, that coffee maker had an automatic cut off. After a couple of hours, it turns itself off. I HATE that feature !! I was constantly turning the maker off and back on, to reset the timer. I wasted coffee, remaking pots, that had gotten cold due to this "safety feature". I wanted a simple, reliable, quality coffee maker, with NO auto-cutoff. This Bunn Speed Brew was the answer. First, this makes a pot FAST ! (about 3.5 minutes). It has a unique spray head, that covers the grounds completely and evenly. This makes a difference in taste. It keeps the coffee hotter than my other maker too (about 185 degrees). I wish it was a little hotter, 200 degrees or more, but it's still hotter than my old maker. This maker requires the taller Bunn filters, due to it's fill speed, but they are easy to find and not too expensive. If you use cheap, smaller filters, the grounds tend to spill over the top of the filter and into the pot. My only complaint about this and other Bunn makers, is the capacity. This is a 10 cup maker, where many others are 12 cup. This is certainly no reason not to get this maker, especially since it makes pots so fast, but a 12 cup capacity, would make this one even better. Some reviews criticize this maker for a "slight plastic smell" when new, but I've never noticed it. Others criticize it's lack of a "automatic cut-off feature", but I see this as a big benefit of this maker. In fact, it was the #1 reason I bought this one initially. I detest that feature. So again, NO, this maker will not automatically turn off in an hour or so, letting the pot get cool down, while you are still drinking coffee. And yes, you will need to remember to turn it off when finished. But we all turn off the stove, oven and most everything else, so this is no drawback for this maker, in fact, I t's a bonus. Finally, if you want clocks, timers, auto-cutoff and alarms, get something else. But, if you want a solid, no-frills, extremely fast coffee maker, with an advanced spray head, like their commercial makers, get this.

If your looking for a great hot cup of coffee then buy it. When I first opened the box I was almost disappointed in how simple it is. Just two switches on the whole thing. No clock, no timer, no frills.

When I made the first cup of coffee any disappointment turned to elation. I always had trouble with coffee makers making lukewarm coffee...yuck.

This machine makes a smoking hot (180 degrees) cup of great coffee in about three minutes.I love it.

Tastes just like coffee shop coffee

Just a note though. It doesn't have a timer so you can't set it to be ready when you wake up but it's so fast it doesn't even mater. I start mine then go brush my teeth and it's done when I get back. You also have to brew at least 20 ounces at a time. Not an issue for true coffee lovers but something to consider.

I absolutely recommend this

I almost cancelled my order when I learned it did not have a hot plate. The thermal carafe does a great job of keeping the coffee hot, for a couple hours, as promised.

This is my third Bunn and I don't think I could ever go back to the drip style. The machines are well made, usually lasting 6-9 years. My main reason for ordering is always the speed of the brewing cycle. I also like the hot water on demand for things like making bullion for recipes, hot cocoa, and oatmeal.

This is a fast brewing high quality maker. We have been buying Bunn coffee makers for years because they last but this is the first one with a thermal decanter. It is better because it keeps coffee fresh for longer.

I have always bought bunn, I have carpal tunnel and burcitice in my right arm so I tend to drop things. I broke my craft for my last coffee maker so I got this. It has no hot plate but it keeps coffee hot for hours! Love my bunn!!!!

I absolutely love this coffee maker. I had a Bunn years ago and i'm happy I've went back to it. It brews super fast and the thermal carafe is great, it keeps the coffee at a good temp for a good 2 hours without giving it that scorched taste. I do suggest you use the coffee filters made for the 10 cup Bunn as regular filters will be too short and cause grounds to get into carafe. A few came with the package. I would highly recommend this coffeemaker.

I had heard good information about this Bunn coffee maker from a family member. With it being made in the USA, I decided to purchase one. After receiving it, it was disappointing to see “Made in China” on the bottom of the thermal carafe. Then after making only three pots of coffee one of the plastic pins on one side of the plastic flip lid to the water reservoir broke. I do like it making a pot of coffee in just four minutes. Very disappointed by the other two things I stated.

I love everything about the Bunn coffee maker , except 1 thing. I feel like i have been lied to, i searched to find a coffee maker that is made in the United states by an American company by American citizens. I paid about double what i wanted to just to get it and to my disappointment the pot is made in China . In the description said made in American by an American company or at the very least that was my take .

Very disappointed with this product! If I haven't used it a few times I would return it! I feel completely ripped off with this product!!! I bought this unit so I would have coffee fast. It does make coffee fast but right when it's done being made I have to take the coffee and put it in individual coffee cups and warm them up in my microwave. Is completely ridiculous having coffee come out maybe considered warm. If you add Creamer to your coffee I wouldn't even consider the coffee warm at that point.

I have owned many coffee pots over the years, including a couple of other BUNN models and this one cannot be beat. I bought it specifically for the thermal carafe that keeps coffee piping hot for 6+ hours and the lack of warming plate that often gets left on as well as the fact that it keeps water hot in the tank and starts brewing as soon as you begin to pour in fresh water. This is a Superstar!

This pot is all around excellent. I haven't purchsed anything but a Bunn coffee pot for years, but this one stands out. The spout pours like the old fashion on stove perculators which brought back great back home memories. Coffee stays warm all day if you preheat the pot. The pot goes from brewing right to the table, no hot pad needed. And it's an attractive pot. Love, love, love it.

Hard to believe Bunn actually manufactured this product. The materials are of the cheapest I’ve seen, especially when comparing coffee makers of similar price. I’ve had it for a week and the my kitchen still smells of off gassed plastic. It arrived with a small crack in the thin plastic top of the machine. I thought I could live with it but now the lid broke off one of its hinges. Of course it did. It looks like it was made by Mattel in the mid 80’s. Despite all this, it makes coffee fast. Just like the solid, steel Bunn machines we all remember when office coffee service was more than single use k-cup. I’m quite annoyed by this outcome. I thought I was buying a well built USA made machine. Did Amazon sell me an imitation Bunn product?

I ordered the BUNN CSB3T last June (2019) after my old BUNN coffee machine went kaput after nearly eight years. Unfortunately, this model failed to make it even a year. For the past few weeks, my machine will only make the equivalent of a third of a carafes worth of coffee (less than the 3 cups), regardless of the amount of water poured into the coffee maker. However, at intervals throughout the day, the machine will begin brewing coffee again. I cleaned and reset the machine, making sure to follow the directions in the manual. However, the problem has persisted. Since this problem began, the coffee tastes much weaker than it should. I really enjoyed our first BUNN coffee maker, and I was hopeful for a similar experience with the BUNN CSB3T. Unfortunately, I think that I will have to look to a new brand after this machine's very short life span and obvious inadequacies. PROS: - It's still easy to use - The thermal carafe is great and keeps coffee warm for hours - Simple, no bells and whistles CONS: - Lower quality than older models - Plastic, cheap materials compared to older models - Doesn't make the proper amount of coffee - The door for the water compartment lifts up and down rather than swiveling from side to side and falls down easily triggering the brewing process prematurely.

We've been using Bunn coffee makers for over 20 years that included a commercial unit at my business that introduced us to them, and then home units for our personal use. This time we went with the Thermal carafe and really like the unit. Bunn says the carafe keeps coffee hot for over two hours but they were being modest since the coffee is still too hot to immediately drink after being in the carafe over three hours. You just can't beat the brewing speed, taste of the brewed coffee, and ease of use with these coffee makers.

Great Bunn! We are long time fans of Bunn coffeemakers, and this one doesn't disappoint! ***Please, please, please READ THE INSTRUCTIONS regarding filling the water. It needs extra water for the first go around.*** It had a slight plastic smell the first couple pots (like the "new" plastic smell, but not overpowering, and is now pretty much gone). Great cup of coffee! Even my pickest coffee aficionado is pleased! Looks even better than the picture, in my opinion, because the silver runs around the sides as well. Pot keeps coffee nice and warm AT LEAST two hours. The only drawback is you can't see what's left, but hey, if the coffee is gone, make another pot! It makes coffee quickly.

BUNN is synonymous with excellent coffee...we have been doing french press for years and decided to go back to a "push the button" coffee maker. We love this machine. First let me say that as soon as I saw this Bunn coffee maker I had to have it. I hadn't seen a Bunn with a thermal carafe. My expectations were high because I know about Bunn coffee makers and their high quality. Sadly, when I made the first cup, I smelled something. The best way to describe it was "burnt plastic". It was so strong that I had to unplug it before going to bed - I really thought it might catch fire! I read other reviews and realized that "burnt" smell was pretty common. Still, I decided to give it another try. It's been a week now, and the smell is barely there, although I can still smell it. The coffee is great! Very fast, perfectly hot. Still the smell... My personal review would be if you can handle the smell, buy it. It is going away.

the one thing that i'm still on the fence about: the water tank is plastic. i'm undecided on how i feel about the water being heated constantly in a plastic tank. our commercial version at work is metal and i'd really prefer that. but it is enormous. this coffee maker is comparable in size to most others. this replaced a cuisinart 10 cup with carafe. the start button stopped making contact inside the unit (this was the second coffee maker that had the same issue over a few years' time). after a bit of research i am very glad i picked this up. brew time is crazy quick. after the first fill of the reservoir the heater takes about fifteen minutes to have your first pot ready. i've read a few complaints about the heater being too loud. honestly, i don't think it is any louder than a regular coffee pot in the brewing process. it is nice that there is no steam to ruin the underside of the cabinets. i have pulled the unit about two inches from the wall so that i can easily pour water into the lid. be very mindful that once you've added the water into the lid, do not close that lid until you have replaced the pot! you will make a mess immediately. i guess you can spring for the fancy water pitcher but there is really no need. it comes with filters but i purchased melitta filters (8 - 12 cup) and they hold the coffee better. the original filters let the coffee grounds ride up just a little too close to the top. keeps coffee hot for at least six hours. i dig this machine...

This was our first Bunn. We kept buying disposable, cheap, coffee makers, and decided to spend a little more on one that may last longer. If you set it up and leave the door open till morning, your coffee will not be hot when you do close the door in the morning. You need to leave the heater on with the lid closed. When you want coffee add water and your coffee, and it's done in 4 mins. The majority of this machine is all plastic. I was surprised at that

Pros.

Easy to use and makes a fantastic pot of coffee.

Never had any plastic smell like other reviews stated. Filled the tank 3 times before using.

Cons.

A auto brew timer would be a nice addition

Still don’t know how much power is consumed keeping a tank of water hot.

First, we enjoy coffee and typically wear out a coffee maker before replacement. We've had everything from a $30 Mr. Coffee to a $275 Breville that grinds/brews. Minimum requirements this time were easy to clean, thermal carafe, and simple operation. We've had more than one occasion when the grinder gets jammed and you get colored water instead of coffee.

We selected the BUNN CSB3T Speed Brew Platinum Thermal Coffee Maker based on the BUNN reputation for simple operation and robust quality. Plus, aesthetically, it would look great in our kitchen. We opened the box and were a little surprised to see the entire coffee maker was plastic. Sadly, not even higher grade plastic, but the smelly, cheap stuff you would expect from a no-name coffee maker from a drug store. Even the carafe is plastic, wrapped in a thin sheet of fake stainless around the middle.

From the second we plugged the machine in, the entire house started to smell like hot plastic. We followed the instructions for setup and ran a few pots of water through the system. It worked flawlessly and as promised. It's a bit quirky in operation and takes some getting used to but if you follow the instructions to the letter each time, you'll have no problems.

It's been over a week now, the machine still has the house smelling like hot plastic (we learned the water stays hot in the reservoir in the back) however the coffee's taste is not affected. The "thermal carafe" is a bit of a joke. The coffee is lukewarm within an hour of brewing which is disappointing. For $147, our expectations were a bit higher; maybe the ability to pull the pot from the maker without coffee continuing to drip, or a beep to let you know the brewing process is done, or a carafe that keeps the coffee hot? I guess having amazingly hot coffee in 4 minutes is the trade-off for all those things I've become accustomed to from my $30-$275 coffee machines.

“Brew a full carafe in just 4 minutes” shown twice on the box and yet the instructions read as the following: Step 3 part 3, Wait 4 minutes while internal tank fills. Step 6 part 2, Wait 15 minutes for water in tank to heat. How can I make a cup of coffee in 4 minutes. When I have to wait 15 minutes for the water to heat up? This is blatant false advertising.

Bunn is a respected name in work-place coffee makers. I've personally drank swimming pools of coffee made from this manufacturer at my office. It seemed like a no-brainer to buy a Bunn for my home coffee making. The Express coffee maker lived up to its reputation in the first 6 months - brewing 10 cups in about 4 minutes. Slowly but surely the length of time to brew grew longer and longer. right now, it spits out luke warm water for about 5 cups of coffee and then dribbles water for the next 30-40 minutes! I pour my first cup and then return the carafe to catch the coffee dribble that comes out. don't trust Bunn to deliver quality to consumer grade coffee makers. Horrible.

Sending back. Does not heat the water to the desired temperature nor keep it there. Measured the water/coffee temperature directly from the brew spout with a thermopen (very accurate) and measured a consistent 185. 10 min later in a non preheated carafe measured a temp of 175... sorry not acceptable. if I preheated the carafe with hot water for 5-10 min the coffee did stay warmer but was never hot. I did a bunch of research and was excited to use this machine but the temps just are not there. With the above stated the machine does brew a pot in like 4 min BUT if you take in account the additional carafe preheat time that kinda defeats the idea. Decent build quality, saturates the grounds really well and bet it would have lasted. Last note: I just about pulled the trigger on one of the Bunn commercial style makers with a single hot plate but it was just a hair too tall to fit under my cabinets. We have one at work and makes excellent coffee.

This is my third Bunn coffee maker and it is the best of all. The coffee is hotter and better tasting than the older models. I use the same gold filter that I used in the older model and it works fine. The coffee grounds are more evenly displaced after the brewing which tells me the sprayer is much better.

The pot works just fine for making coffee, but the smell of the plastic is horrendous! After a couple of weeks the industrial smell has dissipated a bit, but still has an unpleasant odor. When first opened the smell filled the whole house. The coffee basket is flimsy although serviceable. (Barely). For a Bunn the quality is not up to par. More like a budget coffee maker at Bunn prices. In fairness it does work well and the thermal carafe sits snugly in place in the cheap plastic bottom tray. Perhaps it is the way of things that a once above average coffee maker gives up on reputation in favor of the fast buck. The opening for the carafe is small. If you have small hands you might just be able to clean it. Average men and women will not be able to get their hands inside to clean. Bottom line is the pot works ok if you don't mind the smell for a few weeks. Not expecting the flimsy plastic to hold up all that well. Update: Smell is better, but noticeable. The power indication light has now burned out after a few weeks.

I love this coffee maker. Follow the instructions on how to flush it out before your first use. That is what I was told. And I do NOT taste plastic or whatever anyone else is complaining about. This is worth every penny. Very good HOT coffee everytime. I have not had a problem yet.

I love my coffee and this I would recommend to everyone.

Things we love about this coffeemaker :

—4 minutes for a fresh play t of coffee

—coffee is hot

—flavor is good

We did purchase the Bunn filters and am glad we did to ensure we didn’t get any ground into my morning brew. The pot is made of a matte black plastic which gives it a unique look. We are very finicky coffee drinkers and have found that we are very happy with our purchase.

This model with the insulated carafe also has an on/off switch toward the back on the right side with a small LED light. It can therefore be turned off without unplugging it. (Some reviewers seemed to omit this info, worried that they were wasting electricity, having to leave the appliance on 24 hours a day). The carafe holds a quart and a half or 48 ounces at a time, about 7 cups of coffee. Use a large measuring cup with ounce markings for lesser amounts. If the water has been preheated for about 10-15 minutes, the new coffee comes out hot right away! I came home after work the other day and noticed that the carafe still contained warmish coffee 12 hours later! Of course, at that point, it went into the microwave to reheat it properly. Just went into a bagel shop today and noticed the large, commercial- strength BUNN coffee makers. They must be doing something right! Get this insulated model, worth the extra bucks! The learning curve is not as high as some have claimed; just read the instructions carefully. Enjoy!

Can make a pot of coffee in 3 minutes which is outstanding the only thing I don't like about it is the craft if you don't have the lid on properly it will go all over the counter when you try to pour . Otherwise it's a pretty good product

I bought this for our office to replace a larger commercial coffee maker that's hard piped with water supply. Some in the office were skeptical of having to dump water into a coffee maker (they've been spoiled), but the cost of the coffee and other stuff from the supply company was getting kind of ridiculous.

I read some reviews about a plastic smell and this being confusing or hard to use. Well, that wasn't my experience. I rinsed the carafe, then filled the reservoir, which takes a couple pots the first time, and ran several brew cycles just to make sure everything was working and rinsed out well. The taste has been fine since the first one, and we never noticed any unpleasant smells. We've tried some coffee that didn't taste that great, but that's not the Bunn's fault.

Operation is simple after the initial fill. All you have to do is fill the carafe and pour water into the top until you reach the desired number of cups (always 10 for us), then put the lid on the carafe, place it under the basket, and close the lid. Voila, you'll have a pot of coffee in about 4 minutes.

The coffee stays hot in the carafe from mid morning to after lunch.

If you overfill the top, it will overfill the carafe, so if it spills coffee on the counter, you've messed up. One piece of advice though, if you aren't going to make coffee for a few days or more, make sure to turn it off. It is possible that all the water in the reservoir will evaporate and you could burn out the heating element. Hasn't happened to us, but I turn it off over long holiday weekends.

Overall, great coffee maker for our office. I may try to buy an additional carafe for any special functions we may have.

I had my first Bunn in college. I handed it down to my younger brother when I got my second Bunn for a wedding gift. I am now 44 years old and have finally bought my third Bunn. They have all been wonderful, but this recent one may be the best. I like the look of this new one and it's super easy to pour. In the past, the only complaint I would have had about my Bunns was that sometimes the glass pots were hard to pour. They've got it figured out with this one. The coffee is easy to make, tastes good, and the maker looks pretty. I thought I might miss the burner at the bottom of the device, but I really don't. The pitcher/pot itself keeps the coffee plenty hot.

At first I was a little disappointed it didn't have a warming burner, but the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for several hours, as per description and reviews. This is my third Bunn coffeemaker, I wouldn't buy any other. One more comment about the thermal carafe, with the carafe the coffee stays hot and you don't get that burnt coffee taste, it always taste just like it was first brewed. Love it!!

The Bunn replaced our 12 yr old Bunn. I ordered an upgrade before this one but had to return it due to receiving broken in 3 places upon arrival. So I won’t order any “used” like new again in order to save some money. This one is great. Coffee tastes wonderful and is ready in no time flat.

Plastic, plastic and more plastic. What a cheaply made item. Is everything cheap these days? Go all the way and buy restaurant grade, anything else will be like this low grade appliance that is sure to eventually break. Plastic parts seem thin, I was under the impression I would be getting a quality appliance. I don't want to drink coffee after hot water is poured through this cheap thin plastic.

For its price point, I expected this coffee maker to brew decent coffee. It lives up to that, but doesn't match the flavor pour-over coffee produces. It's a pretty big machine, and takes up roughly the same space as Technivorm coffee makers.

This Bunn isn't like a typical coffee maker. It has a water basin that stores water even when it's not brewing. This stored water is meant to be kept hot even when you're not brewing, so that the next time you brew coffee there's already hot water ready to go. That's how it can brew a pot of coffee in 4 minutes. What this means is you're supposed to leave the coffee maker plugged in and turned on all the time. To me that's a huge waste of electricity, so I don't follow that recommendation.

What I do instead is turn off and unplug the maker when I'm done brewing coffee. The next time I plan on brewing, I plug in and turn on the maker and let it reheat the water, which takes a little over 15 minutes. Then I grind my coffee, add more water to the maker, and let it do its thing.

Getting the brewer started is quirky. Like I mentioned above, there's water already in the machine that's going to be hot, but in order to get the brew going, you have to lift the lid and add MORE water up to the cup level you desire (see my pic of the water level measure of the machine). Then you close the lid, which depresses this white tab and the brewing begins.

The machine does a decent job of saturating the grounds evenly. It releases water through 5 spouts, which creates a star-like pattern on the grounds (see pic). Cleaning the basket is easy and the thermal carafe is wide enough for people with smaller hands. The carafe does do a good job of keeping the coffee hot for over an hour.

I thought about returning this coffee maker because of it's abnormal brewing method and considered getting the Moccamaster KBG 40 oz. instead, but decided I didn't want to spend $300+. I'm keeping this machine as I'm satisfied with it enough. Definitely not a 5 star machine, but a solid 4 stars.

I’ll agree with Brian on this one. This machine is amazing. Coffee done in 4 minutes. Running late to go to work? This thing is fast. Also nice that I can make a pot and take the pot to the living room and it stays hot for hours.

We have no bad smells, the switch doesn’t get in the way, flavor is good.

If you have a coffee maker with the warmer plate do yourself a favor and never smell burnt coffee again

There are two things about this coffee maker that I do not care for. First, the thermal carafe does not allow me to see how much coffee is left. And, second, I don't feel like this thermal carafe keeps the coffee as hot as I like it. I actually have ordered another Bunn -- one with a glass carafe and a burner to keep it hot. In general, I love Bunn coffee makers and find them very dependable.

I used this product twice before it quit working. While I'm sure that it would work if I had called and asked for help, I am not willing to spend the time fooling with such a sensitive product. I bought a Ninja, which is simple to use and provides coffee with great flavor. In general, I love the coffee brewed in a Bunn's coffee maker but was unhappy with this purchase.

The smell of plastic is a constant/chronic problem. Probably because machine works like a hot water heater; turns on when the water temperature drops. If the water tank inside is stainless steel, I would think there should be no plastic smell (from heating of the plastic). Therefore, this is extremely concerning. I also don't like the fact that the machine is supposed to stay on 24/7, to get that quick coffee. Then there's the problem of the constant water in the tank; not fresh. I also expected the taste of my coffee to improve, because of the no plastic water tank & carafe. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I would return the item, but I threw the box away.

My biggest beef with most coffee makers is they get clogged after a couple years use even if you cleaned them. My old Bunn (15 years old) finally died. It had a reamer tool to clear lime & in addition to vinegar cleaning, I think that's why it lasted so long. The new one does not have that tool, so hoping it lasts more than 2 years.

Follow the setup instructions and you won"t have leaking on your counter. It makes a quick, hot pot of coffee & the pot stays hot for hours. I like strong coffee so use a full grinder full for 8 cups of coffee. You might need to use a little more coffee with Bunn as the water flows through fast. So far, I'm happy!

We had a little problem at first with getting consistently hot coffee. It doesn't work to get the pot ready the night before and leave the fill lid open until morning. The coffee was cold. Fill it just before starting the cycle, and always leave the lid down, except when filling. Once we figured that out, it is awesome fast brewing, and makes an excellent cup. At first we were worried about it not be on a programmed cycle, but it's so fast that is not a problem. This was an excellent choice to replace our years old Cuisinart.

I bought this machine for my RV. The instructions for this coffee maker are lacking to say the least. Even the youtube video was just about worthless explaining all of the overly complicated steps needed to brew a carafe of "coffee" that tastes something like tin combined with a hint of plastic. I have tried to use this make for the past 6 months thinking I was doing something wrong. I will give it to Bunn that they made a simple process WAY OVERLY COMPLICATED. After making several messes I finally figured out how to use this mediocre machine. I do like the carafe and the aesthetics but I didn't buy it for those reasons. I will definately be going back to the OXO coffee maker that I use at my house which is great.

I read EVERYTHING on every machine I could before making this decision. Weeding through real and obviously fake reviews, and took the leap on this Bunn.

As advertised, simple, fast, durable, pours well, coffee stays hot 4-6 hours, depending on ambient temp, I use maybe 10% less coffee for the same kick and flavor from my last machine, I think its just the way the water spreads over coffee grounds more evenly, no regrets, this was a good purchase and a great value imo

I'm disappointed with my recent purchase of the Bunn Thermal carafe coffee maker. The main complaint is that the coffee is not as hot as previous Bunn coffee makers I've had, and I like my coffee hot! Also, they expect you to preheat the carafe with hot water prior to using it which is something too tedious for me so instead I heat my cup of coffee in the microwave. For that reason and others I do not plan on purchasing another Bunn coffee maker in the future.

I solved the issue with the On/Off switch being accidentally turned off for those of us that have to turn our coffee pot sideways on the counter. I used a 3D printer to make a switch guard. The coffee pot works great but I agree with most that the feel of the build quality seems cheap, but that may be because of the newer heat resistant plastics they have these days. Our last Bunn was definitely heavier and felt like it was better built. All that being said, it still makes a great pot of coffee ......fast.

This is the seventh Bunn I've purchased over the last 20 or so years and by far my favorite mainly because the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for such a long time. No more burnt-tasting coffee from a pot sitting on the burner too long. Well done, Bunn.

I ended up returning this weird, though beautiful, coffee maker right away. I chose it due to the glowing reviews and I love the design and appearance and I wanted a thermal carafe. The carafe is great and the chrome/black housing looks good too. Here are the Cons, in my opinion: • The water is constantly kept hot—the power switch always on! (One reason I want a thermal carafe is so the power is NOT on for so long.) I called BUNN and it was explained that after the initial heat-up (in a stainless chamber), a low-wattage "thermal blanket" keeps the water warm so little reheating is needed, thus allowing a 4-minute brew time. This might be great in an office or family where coffee is frequently being made, but we drink one pot a day, in the morning, and we're not in a hurry! • There is a chemical / plastic smell—other reviewers have mentioned in and some pooh-poohed it. For us, it is worrisome. The CSR said it was the plastic of the thermal blanket that has the smell which will dissipate after an unspecified amount of time. (I read elsewhere that it's the epoxy in assembly that smells.) Regardless, a noticeable toxic odor upon entering the kitchen is undesirable. • You can't set up the coffee the night before and it's not programmable: due to condensation, water drips constantly, causing coffee dribbles to start even before you close the reservoir lid (which starts the brewing so you have to leave the lid open until you want to brew—counter-intuitive! since the power switch must always be on). This means that whoever wants coffee first in the morning needs to measure out the coffee (or leave it measured on the counter all night), load the machine, and figure out how to start it. • Also, there is no timer or pause function, since the brew time is so fast. • I used a gold filter, per reviews, for our first pot, using the same ratios of water/coffee I always use. (I'm replacing a cheap Mr Coffee we've been using for almost a year since moving in but had used a Cuisinart for many years with a thermal carafe before the move.) This Bunn coffee was extremely weak! For the second pot I used extra grounds and a Bunn paper filter, and the results were batter (but still not as good as the $10 Mr Coffee!) • The complication of adding cold water, then heating the carafe with hot water, then brewing just seems overly-complicated. Also, the idea that my coffee is being brewed with water that has been in a heated chamber for 2–3 days (it takes 2 carafes to fill the chamber!) is kind of gross to me. • Cleaning with vinegar is referred to, but not explained,in the limited manual. I'm told you add vinegar to the chamber and let it sit, but since there are already 2 carafes full of water just sitting in the chamber, I'm not sure how effective this would be or how many "flushes" would be needed to clear the vinegar. I could go on, but you get the idea. Too weird for an old dog like me!

This coffee maker saved my marriage. I don’t know how many times we got half way to town before someone said” Did you turn the coffee pot off?” We worried our remote farmhouse would burn to the ground because the coffee had become a flammable crust in the bottom of the carafe. Now the coffee stays hot( tested it ) very hot and no worries. We even laughed during a fancy lunch at Popeyes that we didn’t worry about the coffee maker. Oh, it’s pretty too.

Coffee tastes great, and it brews fast. However, part of the handle (silver plastic) is very cheap and already broke off. Also, no way to measure the water without using a measuring cup. Not a deal breaker, but not convenient not to be able to tell how much water is in the carafe to put into the machine. I will try to get a replacement for the handle and will update review later.

Cheaply made. Starts off great but fails quickly. Had over a year now and needs replaced despite regular care and cleaning.

I love the flavor of the coffee made in this coffee maker. And the carafe keeps the coffee hot for a long time. However there are three problems that should be corrected. When you wash the carafe the handle fills up with water and when you wash the filter basket the handle fills with water also. And because of the way the water sprays over the coffee grounds, the grounds spread to the top of the paper filter making it a mess to empty.

In addition to pouring through a couple of pots of water as directed, you need to brew at least one additional pot with the filter & coffee in it (then throw the coffee out). After this, the coffee should taste normal. I did notice a mild “hot plastic” smell for the first three weeks or so of using. The smell has since dissipated. The coffee brews in about 4 minutes and comes out at 178°, which is perfectly acceptable to me. The stainless carafe maintains the heat for several hours.

My old one after probably 15 years started to leak, the new one's water is so hot, i am able to cut down on the coffee used. i didn't even know the old one needed replacing. and it didn't leak every day, and the coffee was still hot enough, so maybe i could of waited, but glad i didn't.

It makes good coffee and it’s easy to use. However, as some other buyers have pointed out, there is a hot plastic smell coming from somewhere on the machine. The coffee does not taste like plastic. But perhaps there is a component somewhere that gets hot and starts to smell.

I have had Bunn's for the past 30+ years. Well it was time to get an new home brew Bunn - I was excited until it arrived and found the quality of the product is very diminished (cheap flimsy plastic parts). I am sure some Exec got lots of kudos for cutting the cost to make the Bunn of old, and I hope he/she leaves soon. Signed, A Very sad customer that has decided it is time to move on to a company that still values quality.

It’s super fast! A whole pot in a couple minutes! Flavor is good but some grounds do get through. Also the trigger sometimes is positioned ever so slightly down which starts the brewing when I’m not ready (basically hot water starts coming out before I can get the filter in. As I’ve only had the machine maybe a month, I do worry it’ll be the first thing to bust early. I also wish the carafe kept the coffee hotter for longer.

This is my 5-6 Bunn coffee maker and by far the best one yet

This one has a level gauge under the lid so you know how much water your pouring in.

The quality is great and worth the few extra bucks to go platinum.

This is our fourth Bunn coffee maker in 30 years. It is so easy to use, and is our first one with a thermal carafe...a total game changer. It produces a pot of coffee in four minutes or less. We use it 24/7 with our schedules. and caffeine "issues". The thermal carafe keeps it hot well beyond our expectations. We use Bunn 12 Cup filters, and 1/2 Cup of Locally Roasted Coffee. We're long time Bunn addicts. This new one doesn't have the heft our old one has but brews well & faster. Plastics have replaced the older unit's staninless. We'll see in time how it holds up. Hope another 10-15 years!

It brewed weak coffee, so Bunn sent flow reducer. I added that, it did slow down the brewing time, but the coffee wasn't good, so I drained it and re set it up per directions. The next morning it wouldn't brew. Very frustrating I returned it.

Fantastic brewer! Very quiet, quick, perfect flavor, and the few negatives mentioned in some reviews I have not encountered at all.

In hindsight I would order the Bunn filters as they are a little bigger and the water pitcher to make measuring and pouring easier.

This coffee maker needs to stay on all day and with water full in the tank at all times. This type of coffee maker might work for a small office or someone who needs a cup of coffee every hour. But it's an energy waster (and way too complicated) if you are just looking for a cup of coffee in the morning. The product description does not make this clear but after reading the confusing instructions over and over again, I finally realized the tank has to be full and power button "on," and then when you want a coffee you add to the full tank and the hot water already in the tank produces the hot coffee quickly and the new water you just added is to the reserve tank is heated for use in the future.

Very Disappointed with This Coffee Maker For the Price!!! Pretty Much Everything Is PLASTIC...( DISAPPOINTING & Kinda AFRAID it Might Get To Hot & MELT, Causing A Fire)!! Also for the 1st Couple Of Times using product... The Smell Of Plastic Was AWFUL!!

The coffee is ok -- nothing outstanding; you can get the same coffee from another brewer for 1/2 to 1/3 the cost (in my humble opinion). What originally attracted us to the Bunn was the speed at which it prepares your coffee, but in San Diego, CA that coffee comes at a price. In order to enjoy the speed, you have to leave the machine on 24/7 (it keeps the water in the reservoir constantly heated). That adds over $10 per month to our electric bill. Might as well go to Starbucks. . .NOT! lol

I got excited this looked from the pictures like a commercial grade coffee maker. 1st, no way to customize size of pot, it is on or off and brews all the water in the tank. It is not even coming on right now and I have been told it is because I put cold water in tank...still hoping it actually brews. Carafe is nice, the rest is plastic and cheap. Nothing is stainless it is plastic that looks like aluminum. I was disappointed...I threw away all packaging and recycle already picked up or I would package this up and ship it back stat. I would use the Kmart brand Whitehouse before this coffee maker. One star for it arriving and one star for it being an actual appliance, no stars for performance, quality, and as of now it still is yet to brew a pot.

imagine the smell of a melting cfl bulb or burning circuit board in your kitchen, its that kind of unhealthy smell though dialed down. i had hoped it would diminish with use but after 24 hrs and multiple cycles if anything it was worse - returned to amazon. i'm willing to pay more for a made in the usa product if it's design and function measures up, this didn't. good coffee's requirements are quality beans, a burr grinder and lastly hot water. the bunn provided hot water.

This coffee pot is classic Bunn in terms of ease of use and quality. This is our third Bunn purchase in 18 years, the magic number for our use seems to be about 9 years which of course is pretty amazing for any appliance these days. Love that this one has an insulated pot rather than a hot plate. The coffee stays hot way longer than the advertised 2+ hours. I measured 160 degrees more than three hours after being brewed. And on top of all that it's a really nice looking appliance. The only negative is that it bugs my husband that he can't see when the pot is almost empty. Great product, value!

Sure nice having a good tasting hot cup of coffee from first to last cup. Always used a warmer plate type coffee markers and that last cup ugh bad. Only trouble no instruction on cleaning or maintaining. Just a setup sheet. Prior Buns' purchased came with excellent instruction booklet and cleanout tool, which this bunn did not have. Wrote bunn over two weeks ago with no replay. Shame, such an excellent coffee maker.

Perfect for me and hubby. We each usually have about two of the "large" keurig cups sizes each morning, which is about 12 oz times four servings. We use ground Caribou coffee. So making this 10-cup pot in about 3.5 minutes is a lot smarter and cheaper and actually faster if you think about how keurigs have to keep heating up, NOT TO MENTION THE PLASTIC reservoir in a keurig! We don't microwave our food in plastic, so why keep drinking coffee that's been cooked in plastic?! The main reason i got this one was the all-steel reservoir . Adios k-cup prices, hello SUPER hot coffee. I love that I don't have to worry about turning it off, either. But I did read on here someone else's review where they just put an outlet timer on it (off around 2 p.m., back on at 5 a.m.) to save energy costs if you prefer. I also love someone else's review on how to use this machine for pots of tea and ramen, etc. Just pour in what amount you need, close the lid, and it instantly pours out already hot water in the same exact amount from the reservoir. I freaking love this machine. Did I mention it is WAY hotter than keurig? Buy. This. Machine.

Excited for the fast brewing, my first "Bunn" and good tasting easy to make coffee. I have two major complaints after using this for a month is that the coffee is nowhere as hot as other reviews state and cools down even quicker in the thermal carafe. Also, the fact that you need to leave the lid open so it doesn't brew is pretty dumb, I live in AZ we have dust everywhere and I keep thinking of it all falling into my coffee maker as the lid remains open when I prep tomorrows coffee for the next morning. Overall, it brews quickly and the coffee tastes good. No bells and whistles. I use the Bunn coffee filters and brew a full pot everyday. Giving my first Bunn a 3 due to the two major issues noted.

Bought this machine for the office. Chose this model for the quick brew, and the thermal carafe. Both have met my expectations. Taste is decent, if you put decent coffee in. Coffee stays drinkable hot for a couple hours, as advertised. Did notice the "hot plastic smell" that some complained about, but not overpowering. So far very satisfied.

I'm very disappointed. The coffee is not steaming hot immediately after brewing. Second cup of coffee has to be microwaved a few seconds to get it really hot. Ditto third and fourth cups. Bunn claims the carafe will keep the coffee hot for 2 hours.Certainly not. Perhaps they need to replace my carafe??

Scouring reviews on coffee makers was a daunting task. We had a Mr. Coffee for about 8 years and liked the flavour it provided. One problem was however the coffee was getting "cooked" on the warmer. So the first cup was good but subsequent cups had deteriorated. So we wanted one with a thermal carafe. Unfortunately many of the ones so equipped, at least according to reviews we read, either didn't produce hot coffee or didn't maintain it in the carafe. So we felt the Bunn CSB3T was the one for us. We have only had it for a few days but here is what we like. Hot coffee! Fast coffee! Brews a full pot in about 4 minutes. Flavorful coffee but at this point no better than what we got from Mr. Coffee although we're still tweaking our grind and quantity. The carafe, without preheating, keeps coffee hot for at least 3 hours and it pours extremely well. Simple operation. Add a filter with coffee and pour the water in. Out comes your coffee. No buttons to press or malfunction. What we don't like. The quantity of grounds we use in this is double that we used in the Mr. coffee due I expect to the fact the water flows much faster into and out of the filter. In the past we used 1 tbsp/2 cups and at this point it's 1 tbsp/cup. Although the size of the machine is only inches greater than the Mr. Coffee it is enough that it protrudes from under the upper cabinets requiring a relocation for aesthetics. No timer. This is a very basic machine as mentioned earlier which is good with fewer things to go wrong but if you like to prepare your coffee at night so you have fresh brew in the morning, this machine is not for you. The looks of the machine is fine by me, not gorgeous, but not hideous enough for my wife to reject. So I knocked off 1 star mainly due to it's size and the fact we now use double the grounds. Other than that we very much enjoy it and particularly love the effectiveness and function of the thermal carafe.

My old Bunn of over 10 years had a slight leak so we needed to replace it. (Only another Bunn would do- they are the best) This new one with a thermal carafe instead of the heat plate on a glass pot works so much better. Keeps the coffee warm for 2 to 3+ hours without burning the coffee. Highly recommend

I received my coffeemaker a day early, set it up the next morning FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL. Works wonderfully and no odor.

This review is legit!!! After reading some of these, I wonder what coffee pot they are reviewing and then wondering if competitors are buying this pot just so they can leave a negative review. Plastic smell??? there is none. Tank is plastic, no it is stainless steel. I am on my 3rd bunn and only replaced my 10 year old pot because I thought the tank might be corroded with our hard water and I have never done the tank cleaning process. I love the carafe style, I kept my old carafe, I make two pots in the morning, fill my and my girlfriend cup up, pour the rest in old carafe and make another pot. Works great looks amazing!! You have a negative comment on this pot, you are wrong. Only thing I can see is if one stopped working but I am sure that is rare. I buy on amazon a lot and hardly leave feedback but this pot deserves it considering like what someone else said "Fake News" comments

Bought this coffee maker to replace an older Bunn that was well used. Read reviews on this maker and another, very different dual purpose maker. Based upon the reviews to some degree I went with this one. It works great. The negative reviews about smells, messy grounds, etc. now appear to be "fake reviews" to me. There is no smell and the coffee making process is very neat and very good. The grounds that the water passes through look like the process occurred perfectly using (to date) three different ground types. I literally have lost confidence in the review process, but this one is accurate, I promise you.

I was first attracted to this particular Bunn coffee maker because the logo is a subtle, embossed sign rather than the glaring BUNN logo glaring from the front of the machine. Aesthetics was important to me.

The 'burning plastic' smell that was reported by some reviewers does not exist in this machine.

Coffee tastes very good, and is made surprisingly fast. I have yet to get used to the speed. There's no pause feature necessary to pour mid-brew since it really is that fast.

The double wall stainless steel carafe is excellent. It keeps coffee hot longer than the 2-1/2 hour product description states.

I paid attention to the reviews that complained that coffee ended up all over the place and made a mess. I made sure to buy the Bunn coffee filters and the Bunn re-usable filter. So, absolutely no problems there.

I gave it 4 stars since I've only had it for a short time. Will review again a year from now.

I know I said '1 year', but decided to revisit my review of this machine.

Almost 4 months later, I still have no complaints, especially none of the problems other reviewers have had. I still get very hot coffee, the thermal pot keeps it very hot for at least a few hours and hot enough for another few hours. If I'm desperate, the coffee is at least warm at the end of the day. :-)

No plastic burning smell, and coffee grinds have NEVER overflowed and made a mess. Again, I stress that I use coffee filters especially for BUNN machines. I use premium coffee beans that I grind with a Capresso Burr grinder or ground coffee as the same brand of beans, if it makes a difference to anyone.

***Update again. Machine still performing very well. The only different thing I tried and it works, is to put a timer on the plug, since I really only make coffee once a day. When I have guests staying over, I just turn off the timer in case we need to make coffee throughout the day.

The idea of this machine is great. But the coffee is not hot in the carafe. It needs a intermittent heating plate to keep it warm. More importantly water is getting baked in plastic- making the coffee taste like plastic.

This pot produces great coffee. There are problems with functioning. First this pot has a water well, you must keep it full so even though you can just put the pot on you have to fill first to compensate. That brings me to filling you can't just fill the water and close the lid, no, there is a lever that release the water into the well when you close the lid, which also releases already hot water into the carafe. If you close the lid before putting the carafe back you'll have water everywhere. There is also an issue with the two power buttons. One one the side is to remain on so that the water in the well is automatically heated, the other button in the front turns on the hot plate which keeps the carafe hot. If you turn off the well heater the water will still release when the lever is pushed by closing the lid. The water will not be hot and not only will you waste water and coffee, you will also waste your time because now you have to start the filling and heating process over again.

This.coffee maker can brew approximately 10 cups of coffee in under minutes! I have a Keurig at home and I am the only coffee drinker so this coffee pot would be better used at office. My staff loves it! The thermal keeps warm for hours. My tellers were able to drink coffee without leaving their stations. Awesome coffee machine.

This coffee maker works very good. This actually brews up to ten cups in four minutes. The carafe holds heat for up to two hours. The water reservoir always stays on hot. This coffee pot is very easy to use, maintain, and clean. It has a flat bottom funnel and filter for a balanced brewing. The carafe is vacuum insulated which leaves your fresh brewed coffee fresh and hot. The sprayhead has six streams that showers over the cofee ground to make sure your coffee is brewed completely. This Bunn coffee maker is very stylish with a silver chrome and black design which adds a bit of decor to your kitchen. Bunn coffee makers are used commercially, which is also a handy kitchen appliance for the modern household. If you are looking for a very well made and fast coffee maker then this is the coffee maker for you. This cofee maker definitely gets the job done.

This BUNN 10 cup coffee maker looks better in picture than in person...don't let the pictures deceive you...BUNN is a well known brand, so I had high expectations for it...Upon opening the box, the coffee maker felt heavy but some parts felt cheap...The back of it (chrome color) is plastic...and also the handle of the pot is plastic...There's nothing wrong with it being plastic, it just felt like cheap plastic...It does come with filters, and also with easy to read instructions that are easy to follow...Keep in mind this is a thermal coffee maker, it does not have a warming plate...It is very bulky, 14.9 inches (H) x 8.25 inches (W) x 13.6 inches (D)...it will take a lot of space in your kitchen counter...It was easy to clean, coffee was ready in 4 minutes like it states...In the beginning it did have a little bit of a plastic smell...but I've experienced that with other coffee makers as well...overall this BUNN coffee maker was just ok...It didn't meet my expectations ....

This Bunn Speed brew thermal coffee maker takes 15 minutes initially to heat up the water in the reservoir. There are specific steps to follow in the instruction booklet before the coffee maker will brew coffee. I filled up the thermal carafe twice to fill the water reservoir (50oz). The water reservoir is a commercial grade stainless steel hot water tank. After brewing, the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for 2+ hours. It is a double wall vacuum insulated thermal carafe.

After the initial 15 minutes, brewing takes much less time because you keep the coffee maker plugged in all the time unless you will be away from home for 4+ days. Keeping the coffee maker plugged in all the time means that the water in the reservoir stays hot so you can keep on brewing carafes or travel mugs of coffee until the water reservoir is depleted. Then you fill the reservoir up again and it heats up again and it takes 15 minutes again.

I do like that there is no hot plate on this coffee maker that can heat coffee until it become a hockey puck or fills the house with burning coffee smell if you forget to turn it off. No rust on the bottom of the metal carafe. Nice!

I did not experience any smells or odors. I used regular grind ground coffee.

My previous coffee maker, a brand named after famous asian martial artists, was horrendous. It leaked, It had a metal carafe which couldn't be seen into and we were constantly making coffee into half full carafes that would overflow.

I saw this "reviewed" on a Youtube cooking channel by the host who HATED it. Fortunately, I don't think he's much of a cook, or reviewer, so I knew it was probably a good product.

Among his complaint were that the programming and clock were hard to set. I get up at 3:00 AM so a bad timer or programming would have been a deal breaker. It's easy to set up and I had a piping hot cup of coffee this morning.

Youtube guy said the display was hard to read; Probably hard to read if you have bright lights on in your kitchen for filming videos, fine for me.

He complained that there were no sample filters or a basket. Yes, there was no basket; that's bundled as a different purchase. I don't care about the extra filters. There is however, a K cup basket for single servings so it's not necessary to drop extra money on one of those.

The cooking guy returned his, but I'll be keeping mine. This machine is nice looking, easy to set up and makes good coffee with an option for single cups.

My old Bunn of over 10 years had a slight leak so we needed to replace it. (Only another Bunn would do- they are the best)

This new one with a thermal carafe instead of the heat plate on a glass pot works so much better. Keeps the coffee warm for 2 to 3+ hours without burning the coffee.

Highly recommend
