I really never leave reviews, and am generally a very positive person and forgiving to companies because I know it's hard to run a business. But, this product had an amazing concept but the design execution and quality control seems to be way off. We've had a Mr. Coffee maker for years and love it. Always worked great, never had an issue, so we like Mr. Coffee. But this particular combo maker was a big miss on their end. A few tweaks it would be amazing! 1. The coffee maker never worked once we got it. Like a lot of the reviews said, it buzzed, started putting coffee out, then 3 seconds later stopped and flashed "0" on the display, which is the code when water is out. But the unit was full of water each time and we removed the red plug like the instructions said. We went through the troubleshooting and moved it to other outlets, turned it off and on, etc. It errored out each time. Must be something wrong design / quality wise that is tripping the error. So we never got a chance to taste the coffee or really try anything. 2. The water reservoir is in back of the unit which makes you have to pull the whole coffee maker out from the wall to swap out the water. It's a heavy unit since it has the espresso part on it so it was a pain just in the few times we had to do it. 3. The unit is very loud as well. I did see this mentioned in other reviews before we bought but I wondered "how loud can it be?". But it was quite loud and when we were turning it on to test it at 9pm, I was afraid the kids would wake up it was so loud. If Mr. Coffee could bring the water reservoir up to the front / right so water can be swapped without moving the whole unit, improve the quality control, and improve the water pumping system to make it quieter... I'd easily pay $250 for this unit vs. the $200 and we'd be pumepd about it. Just seems like they were trying to fit too much into a small budget and quality / design suffered along the way. Avoid getting this unit and wait until they take a 2nd pass at a combo maker in the future. (this is my first ever Amazon review after prob 1k purchases)

I looked at many different all in one coffee, espresso machines and they didn't have very good ratings. So far this machine is great. We have had it for a month now. I love that the coffee carafe is insulated so well and keeps coffee at a good temp for quite awhile and that it's not breakable and it's portable. The espresso feature works well also. The milk steamer is very loud and takes some getting the hang of it but it does not froth the milk much do I bought a small handheld milk frother separately. I haven't used the k cup feature yet. Changing the attachments is very easy and I like that. I do wish the water tank held more water. It is a bit loud when it brews coffee but not as terrible as some reviews put it.

Love this machine so much! Couldn’t ask for better.. got it late November and have not had any issues.. yes it’s a little loud but it makes good coffee and I unscrewed the piece where the espresso comes out for an extra clean amd my coffee is sooooooo good!!

I wanted to love this so much ....... but sadly I’m returning it. First issue, it is loud.... like really loud. Also no hot plate to keep the pot warm. Lastly it doesn’t have the drip stopper thing, so you can’t take the pot out mid brewing to get a cup. All things that bothered me, didn’t even play with it long enough to test the espresso function or kcup function.

Can't even begin to describe the amazing flavors. We have been a keurig family for over 15 years boy were we missing out. Coffee is cheaper and twice as flavor full we combined this with a cheap coffee grinder and couldn't be more impressed no more Dunkin runs homemade is better with this amazing machine.

For the price this is a good machine. let me break down the pros and cons from my point of view. When brewing coffee, the water does not get hot enough. I like a hot cup of coffee. Pro, it brews good drip and espresso. I had an issue with the Pod. It could have been the k-cup pod, but I don't think enough water is getting in to brew a good cup. If you're looking to serve up different k-cup pods for guests, this is really SLOW. I would still recommend having a Keurig machine. Or hope that people would prefer a brewed pot. The water pump is VERY, VERY loud. I read the other reviews and thought, ok, it can't be that bad, right?! Oh it is... It could wake the dead. In my house, not a huge deal. The frother is something to get used to. There is no pressure regulator, so it's all or nothing. So it makes frothing hard and very noisy. Again, this would wake the dead. As I said this is a good machine for the price and it does brew a pot, pod, espresso & does froth. If you're looking to become a fancy home Barista, this is not the machine you want. I purchased it because I like to have a variety of coffee brewed in different ways.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I disliked that it wouldn't even clean brew on the first brew before brewing coffee. Lol I'm still trying to see why its blinking 0. I changed out the water multiple times, bottle water, tap, and distilled. It's still blinking 0! I havent event brewed a cup. It isnt brewing or steaming at all. I tried calling for customer support or whatever but I was put on hold for a long time.

Our coffee maker stopped working the day after we were eligible to return via Amazon. Amazon tried to help connect with Mr Coffee but no luck. Was very expensive for it to just stop working. Was suggested that all the parts were not lined up but now we are out a lot of money without a refund.

I bought this for my wife for a Christmas/birthday present as she's wanted an espresso maker for a long time. Since we can't afford many of the espresso makers on the market I settled on this unit. My wife said it was one of the best gifts I've ever given her, with a little practice we can make coffee drinks every bit as good as a coffee shop. Pros; 1. This one unit can replace your drip coffee maker, milk frother, k-cup maker and espresso machine. Of course it can do only one function at a time so if you're in a hurry you can't, say, brew espresso and froth milk at the same time. 2. It makes very good drip coffee (my favorite) but is limited to a 10 cup (I usually had a 12 cup glass) insulated carafe. 3. The insulated carafe prevents coffee just sitting on a burner resulting in getting a burnt taste. I've come back several hours later to still hot coffee in the carafe. 4. It makes very good espresso with the proper beans. 5. K-cups taste how you would expect them and are brewed quickly. Cons; 1. The unit is a little noisy when brewing, I would equate it to sizzling bacon in a frying pan related decibels. Not a wake the sleeping children loud but louder then a regular drip coffee maker, due to an actual pump to force the water through instead of relying on convection. 2. The milk frother is not silent and might wake children if they're in the same room so take that into consideration. It's not overly loud, just somewhat shrill because it's steam hissing out. I would equate it with you whistling to get someone's attention that's already near you. Yes it's not quiet but if no one is sleeping in the same room they probably won't hear it. 3. To make a k-cup drink it's a tad slower since there is an extra step to change out the k-cup pod. 4. No clock or timer. If you are used to waking up to coffee already brewed you will need to plan on pressing the brew button 5 minutes before you want the coffee. To me it wasn't a big deal, I incorporate it into my daily ritual. 5. No built in grinder for which I consider fresh ground beans essential to good coffee. If you already have a grinder this is a non-issue. Overall I am glad I purchased this machine as I can save quite a bit of money and have more control by making my own drinks. It also opened my eyes to how much sugar coffee shops put in their drinks when I'm trying to match the flavor profile! I would definitely pair this with a bean grinder to get the full coffee flavor.

I just got this out of the box and the motor was extremely loud In the machine, and the brew buttons and ready brew indicator lights did not operate per how the instructions suggested. Not sure but I think I received one defective out of the box, but if this is normal I wouldn’t want to hear this in the morning making coffee.

First off, this is an awesome machine! Okay, its a little larger than just a coffee pot or my old single cup brewer, but it makes much better coffee using the single cup brew option than my previous one (name brand, not cheap either!). I was yearning for a good cup of coffee that I did not have to pay at a coffee shop.. and now I have one at home! So.. its a little loud. Not sure what that's all about, but, I'm not complaining. Its actually our morning joke.... you can pretend you are preparing a flight for takeoff or maybe contacting NASA. Next oddity happened this AM and I thought.. great... the day after my dog dies and I cried my eyes out all night... try to start my work day and the coffee pot won't work... flashing zero ???? I just filled the water reservoir. What is going on??? tried turning off.. turning on.. etc, etc... then..... Found a 'tip/trick' from another review and did that: Hold the reservoir tank over the sink while its full, depress the valve from underneath on the bottom (on the outside of the reservoir, not reaching into the water) and let the water flow through. I did this a few times and then put the reservoir back on the coffee maker and it was fine. I think either something terribly small (like a coffee ground somehow?) was causing it to stick or the spring just needed to be loosened up. Voila! Coffee again! I have used all modes including single/double shot espresso, pods both packaged and refillable, and the regular drip coffee... all wonderful What a great Christmas present I gave myself :) Our 'wild' New Year's party was toasted in with some delicious Caramel Macchiatos as shown in the picture! Salut!

After using it for 2 months. I hate it . At first I was inly making one cup or capp. Not bad does a good job but to have company and make. Pot of coffee or in morning. Takes like 3 or 4 tries til you can actually get a pot . It shuts down or blinks to 0 . Annoying .

It is very loud, louder then my washer and dishwasher combined. I would have paid extra to have a quieter motor in it. Also wish the water wasn’t on the back it doesn’t make it very convenient to refill it. But I do like that it’s 1 machine that is multifunctional.

I personally love the machine and it’s options. My family - not so much. They like k pods. I liked the option for k pods, pot, or espresso and the steamer. They find the k pod option much more complicated than a Keurig. I agree that it is, but I don’t mind that. They’d prefer a Keurig which is the epitome of simplicity. It also has a tendency (probably because of the different options) to drip water after it’s done. And has at the base / spillover basin a tendency to fill up with water quickly because something in the unit tends to drain back to that spot from inside the machine. Not an issue - but you’ll empty it about once a week or more frequently. I’m sure it’s based on machine design to allow for all the options, but it’s something I haven’t seen in other machines before. Overall I love the machine. But the family doesn’t find it easy to use or align the k cup part in the machine when they use it.

My house smells amazing, my college kid is becoming a barista without leaving the house, and the hisses and sounds are honestly not that loud? We got Peets Espresso Blend and gosh dang it smells awesome when they make espresso shots. Great machine. Very proud of this purchase.

Throw away your Keurig! You won't need it any more. This machine really does everything it says it does. I'm a complete Espresso novice. The first round of espresso that I made, I happened to have family over for Christmas, and they really know their espresso. They were blown away that they could see the crema as it was brewing and they said the espresso tasted fantastic! We have been making Caramel Machiattos that are every bit as good as Starbucks. The machine really is simple to use. It is plasticy, but still looks high end on our granite counters. I can't recommend this coffee maker enough. I was not paid in any way for this review.

Model #BVMC-0-C series All-in-One Occasions coffee maker is a defective model. I got this coffee maker and love the espresso and pot brewing, but the single pod attachment leaked all over the counter and did not run through the pod or basket. I called the Mr. Coffee customer service line and they told me that model is defective. I had to send the machine back and they will be sending me a replacement machine. Customer Service was great, but I just wanted to let anyone know that is buying that model number, it is a defective machine.

Right out of the box this coffee maker did not work. We followed all instructions in the manual, and yes we removed the red plug from the bottom of the reservoir tank. The machine wouldn't stop flashing error code zero. The troubleshooting guide said the reservoir was empty of water. No matter what we tried it wouldn't stop flashing error code zero, with a full reservoir. Even if it did work the quality of this machine is poor, everything is cheap plastic. Invest another $100 in a good machine; DO NOT buy this machine!

Did it make the coffee? Yes. That’s what most coffee makers are supposed to do. But if it’s not worth drinking, then why buy it? The coffee did not taste good and it was not hot, which why it probably didn’t taste good. I thought I could deal with the things this doesn’t come with; a warming plate or a timer. But those things along with spilling coffee every time you pour it and it being loud. Nah, I’ll pass. Made 1 pot of coffee this morning after it being a Christmas gift, and I’m dropping it off at Kohl’s for return in a few minutes. Just don’t try it! I thought I could get by, but you just can’t with all these flaws!!!

I do love this coffee maker. The different ways to enjoy coffee are fantastic. Maybe it's just me, but the K-cup attachment is difficult to get on the first, second, third and so forth try. Sometimes I just give up and make a pot of coffee which taste fantastic. The metal attachment seems to go on very easily.; The pod holder is plastic and could be why or again, maybe it's just me. Not giving up!!! It's kinda noisy but heats up quick!!! Update: It was just me. I can now get the k-pod attachment on easier. Just had to get use to it! Haven't tried the expresso attachment yet. Stay tune!!! I may bump the stars up :)

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband but I’m bad at waiting - I was just as excited to start using it as I was to give it to him. Surprisingly there are not a lot of machines out there that will do brewed coffee, kcups, and espresso that also has the frother. It’s ease of use has converted me to a full time espresso latte barista; it even cut down on my trips to the coffee shop. I love that it detects what you’re brewing without having to physically select it.

I really like the versatility of this coffee maker. It really does so much, from espresso to frothing. It is easy to use as well. We’ve had a lot of fun playing with different recipes and trying new functions. My only gripes, which we knew going in based on reviews, is there is not a timer so it can start in the AM, and it is very noisy. However, for the price, I can start to brew my coffee when I wake up and not take a conference call next to the machine while it brews for a few minutes. Definitely not deal breakers for us.

Not able to give it negative stars. I liked the versatility offered but most of the time I would be using it to make a single serving and using the Kpods. I had a lot of trouble inserting the piece that holds the Kpod. First you have to slide the piece in. Maybe if you stood on your head you could do it. it was not easy to locate where to place it, and then needed a third hand to hold the coffeemaker in order to turn it to lock it in place. It should not be that difficult to make a cup of coffee. Needless to say after several attempts, I decided to return the coffeemaker. So I would not recommend it.

The ability to make espresso, use k-cups or make a pot of coffee had me sold and the footprint was perfect for my counter. Making a pot of coffee or an espresso works perfect, no complaints there. However, the k-cup feature is awful. The boiling water comes flying out the top everywhere which is very dangerous! I've tried different k-cups and all the suggestions. Contacted Mr. Coffee for support and it took forever for them to get back to me. And all I requested is that they send me a new k-cup part because I believe its just that piece that's faulty. But the only resolution they offered was to have me ship them the coffee maker so they could first analyze it. Yeah, I don't think so. Guess I'll be drinking a lot of espressos for awhile until I'm ready to shop for a replacement.

I drink a lot of coffee and go from cheap to high-end makers and usually find something that doesn’t work for me. This coffeemaker has been the best in a long time. Solidly built and with a good manual. With all the functions it isn’t that intuitive to use at first but after walking through each process one it two times operation became easy. I like that the pod and espresso attachments stay clean and don’t need cleaning up every time. I tried a gold mesh basket but it didn’t like that, grounds tend to wash over and foul the basket. The basic paper filters are the ticket. The only thing that’s not perfect is that it doesn’t heat the carafe, so after 2(?) hours the coffee needs microwaving. I knew that going in but it’s been a bit of an adjustment from the days of keeping the burner on all day and having hot (and burnt) coffee at the ready.

Followed the instructions for first use such as cleaning everything, filling up the water tank to max, and pulling the red plug. The water never drained into the machine. The pump made a loud noise and eventually shut off with the screen blinking 0 indicating the water tank was empty (but it wasn't). Tried several times and eventually exchanged for another one thinking I got a lemon. Second one; the same thing happened! Look at reviews on Target and Walmart. I should've heeded their warning. Don't waste your time on this.

So disappointing... I was actually looking forward to getting this machine. Stopped what I was doing when it came and unpacked the machine. I was all ready for a great latte! 2 hours later still nothing. Then an hour later with Amazon’s amazing customer service person all I had was a credit for the coffee machine and no latte. Ugh. I've had this for 7 months and I have not had an issue. I didn't want to replace my keurig but I also wanted a coffee maker that brewed more than a single cup. Having the express feature was a bonus. No, it doesn't have an auto start feature, but I never used it on any coffee that had one anyways.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The unit works for making coffee, but the noise level and shifting tones is... impressive?... for something that's supposedly designed for making coffee. If it was intended as an irritating noise machine, would be 4 or 5 stars. That said, it is capable of making coffee and espresso's, can even make 2 espresso's at once. But unless you're really mixing it up with coffee and espresso like every day, I don't see this being a good option. For a pot of coffee, this thing will make a series of rattling/vibrating noises for like 2 minutes straight, with the notes ranging up and down like a symphony. For k-cups it is similar, very noisy and it is somewhat of a hassle to use as the capsule goes into the espresso handle and then you have to stick it up into the unit. So, being half awake and trying to slide the handle into place isn't great. Also, the unit doesn't have a time so you can't have coffee waiting for you in the morning. And the water level sensor doesn't seem to work well - if you have enough water for just part of your request, it'll start and then stop midway through. And if it runs out of water, you can't simply fill it up and continue, you have to turn the unit off, set the switch to 'standby' (why would that even be an option?), then turn it back on and switch it back to brew. Way to complicated, and it should let you know if there's not enough water before starting and giving you a partial cup/pot of coffee.

Plus features: 1. The water container comes off of the back if you want to take it off to fill and clean. 2. The coffee pot is stainless steel vs glass, it does a great job of keeping coffee hot. 3. Expresso, single serve pod and milk steamer all work great individually 4. You can use the refillable coffee pods, I recommend getting the most basic one, I bought mine at Marshalls and it fits great, Things to consider if they are important to you: 1. As mentioned from other reviewers, you cannot set up to a timer. 2. The expresso and the pod fits in very specifically, if you have arthritic hands using these features might be a challenge. The first 2 times I used the pod, I had more coffee around the pot than in my cup. I'm not sure if it was a user error or not but I've had no problems with fitting it in since those 1st 2 times. 3. The machine is a bit loud when in use.

Seating the pod or espresso attachments is very difficult. The unit makes a loud grinding noise when pumping water to make anything. It did not come with reusable pod. If the unit runs out of water during a brew, it takes a miracle to get it started again - just putting in water and pressing "brew" does not work; even turning power off/on does not work either! The pull down shelf to hold a cup during espresso won't come down if the espresso attachment is already installed. The multicup pot is not heated so coffee cools quickly after brewing. The whole machine is of poor functional design

First, let me say I have a masters degree - and I can’t operate this machine. I ordered this as kuerigs don’t seem to last more than 8 months in my house...so I wanted to try other brands that work w k cups. IT TAKES AN ACT OF GOD TO LINE UP THE KCUP ATTACHMENT WITH THE COFFEE MAKER. I literally struggled. Every Cup Of Coffee. I ordered a baseball bat when I ordered a new coffee maker cause this machine and I are going to have one last, finally satisfying moment together. For the love of god...don’t buy this.

It puts construction crews to shame! If your significant other likes to sleep in, and you hate it, this is the coffee pot for you! That being said, the coffee is fantastic so I’m keeping it. Now everyone gets to wake up at 5am!!

I loved this coffee maker when I first got it. Its k-cup compatible, but you have to actually get the k-cup from keurig or else the coffee won't filter through properly. Otherwise, its easy to use. Makes good coffee. Unfortunately the frother is LOUD as hell. The machine itself is loud too. My espresso portatfilter broke and i went on a journey looking to purchase a replacement only to find out YOU CAN'T BUY THE PARTS SEPARATELY. I've spoken to the people from the parts website and ive spoken directly to mr. coffee representatives. They'd have to replace the whole machine just to replace that one part. So now, i basically can only use this for my k-cups and brewing pots of coffee and not the espresso part which really pisses me off.

I absolutely LOVE the versatility this coffeemaker provides! I live alone, so I mostly use either the pods or the espresso functions. But when my family comes over, I can make a pot of coffee for everyone without having to use up all my pods or take a while making individual espresso drinks. I’m also huge into matcha lattes, so I use the frothing wand almost everyday. I am amazed by how great it works. My parents have the Breville espresso machine that’s more than double the price of this unit and I have to say, this coffeemaker has a much better frothing wand. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase ?

I was so excited to try this product. Upon turning it on to clean with filtered water prior to first use, I was shocked by how loud it was. My roommates could hear the coffee maker from the other end of the house. It is extremely noisy and takes extremely long to brew anything. I will be returning as this was definitely not worth the price. Very disappointed.

This review is mostly to help people who get the dreaded flashing 0 error even when the water tank is full. This happened to me several times, and I finally fixed it by repeatedly opening and closing the valve that lets the water out of the tank. I removed the tank, held it over the sink, and quickly opened and closed the valve over and over for about 30 seconds. My hypothesis is that the spring that closes the valve is a little too strong at first and needs to be "broken in" a bit. This may or may not work for you, but it did for me. Aside from that, it's a fine machine. I don't love the carafe (hard to pour out of) and I'm still trying to figure out the right coffee-to-water ratio because this machine apparently considers a "cup" to be less than what my old Mr. Coffee machine did. But all in all it seems to get the job done and I like all the different options in one machine. A lot of people have complained about the noise, but I guess that's subjective because it doesn't seem too obnoxious to me.

Bought this coffee maker do that I could make either a full pot of coffee, individual servings, or an occasional latte. Coffee maker fails to deliver on all 3 options. It’s a crap shoot with this product. More often than not, we don’t get a full pot of coffee, & now running into same issue when making single serve. Instructions say to be sure to fill water reservoir (which we always do), & follow all the steps to make your beverage (we do). Convinced product is flawed. Have been emailing product support for a month now, & the latest response is that they want me to mail the product back to them—yet another customer inconvenience. The customer support (lack of it) has been as disappointing as the product. I’ve already sent them my receipt & all the pictures they’ve requested, & have been very clear that I do NOT want a replacement product. All I want is a refund & a dependable, reliable coffee maker. Buyer beware—this is NOT a good product.

Replaced this for my old KCup. #1 this is loud and can be heard throughout a 3800sqft home. #2 its messy for 2 reasons. 1. Daily use...water resides in the top of the attachment so you have to remove it the same time you are removing the coffee cup otherwise you will have water dripping on the floor. This is everytime its used 2. The K cups aren't always punctured causing water to explode all over. Is it easy to use? Not exactly. I've had guest at my house ask me...how do you use this...then the next day...they still can't figure it out. Look elsewhere.

We just received this today (top marks for getting this shipped to us in one day). Unpacked, read all the directions, and followed the procedure to run the Clean cycle. After several seconds of buzzing from the very loud pump, we got the "Zero" error that means we were out of water. But wait...the tank is still full. And before you tell me, yes, I pulled the red rubber stopper out of the well opening before I put the filled water tank on. So, I did some checking...when I took the tank off and held it over the sink and depressed the plunger at the bottom, water flowed without any issues. I then put the tank back on the coffee maker and noted that the plunger barely moved. This is what is preventing the water from flowing into the well to the heater. After several seconds, the heater shuts off (to protect itself from burning up) and it throws up the Zero error. I would assume there is either a very poor tolerance in the manufacturing process, or there is a little rubber bumper missing from the top of the post that depresses the plunger in the water tank. Something needs to lift that plunger a lot higher than it is now. Sending it back for something simpler, less expensive, and more reliable.

Can do espresso, lattes, k-cups and drip coffee. I mostly make lattes, but I have also used the k-cup attachment and made drip coffee. My favorite things about are that it is easy to use and fairly easy to keep clean. The milk steamer is LOUD. For espresso, do NOT press down much at all on the coffee. Barely press to level it. Otherwise, you might get the dread 0 error. There is a ridiculous 2 minute cleaning cycle at the end of steaming milk that uses over 12 oz water (more than a milk steaming pitcher can hold). I have never made it all the way through the cleaning cycle - hope this doesn’t come back to bite me.

I absolutely LOVE this coffee/espresso maker. It has everything I needed and the K-cups option I never wanted. Since it came with the regular espresso attachment, I just ignore that extra K-cup attachment. No problem filling the water before I use it every time or just twisting it a little to look behind it. You don't have to pull the water reservoir all the way up for it to detach. Halfway up you can easily slide it your way. The only problem I see is that the thermal Carafe has an edge or lip inside it that makes it difficult to pour the entire contents out. There is always a teaspoon of water left and it takes longer to dry out or get that laaaaast little bit of coffee out. This carafe keeps coffee warm for hours though and it's very nice. The bottom never gets hot. I don't have to plan a stop to the coffee shop anymore and remember my punch card. I make my own red eye and the to go cup fits perfectly under it. I do love the flip down stand for a shot glass though. I use it with a tea cup and its excellent for a quick shot. I highly recommend Lavazza espresso beans and an OXO grinder for $99. It is so easy to use and you earn your money back in not having to purchase from expensive hipster coffee stores. I am not a coffee snob however, I still use Chock Full-O-Nuts for regular coffee. Is that bad? If so then I don't want to be good.

Honestly, the machine takes some getting used too but it's great. Once you know the attachments and how to place them you make basically any coffee related drink. I also switched from a keuregg to this, mainly for the espresso. The kcup isn't as strong or as hot as a keuregg, but it still makes hot and good tasting coffee. The drip option is also really good.

Great coffee maker. Consistent flavor between the k-cup and pot and maintain the same notes with the espresso. Read directions once with each method of brewing and was good to go. I will say that we have a coffee station, so the removal of the water tank is simple. Others had mentioned that it was poor design, but I’m not sure how it’s that different that other pots. The machine is louder than I expected, even after reading reviews, however, we can’t hear it in our bedroom at the other end of our ~1900 square foot house (with doors open). Great coffee maker, overall. Super pleased with consistency and versatility.

Former barista speaking! This is a great coffee maker, great k-cup user, and good espresso maker. If you are looking for MAXIMUM convenience, I wouldn't say this is for you. I say this because there is not a timer as most are used to, and if you are not familiar with making espresso or steaming milk, it will take a few tries to nail it, and because since this is a 3-in-one machine it requires cleaning after use of the espresso part or steam wand. All this being said, it is totally worth the minor inconvenience as all of these things require very mild efforts. For example, if you prep your ground coffee and make sure there's water in the reservoir the night before, it takes just a few seconds to get it going in the morning. I have not found the lack of timer to be any inconvenience, personally. Making espresso is very simple, and the "cleaning" I mentioned is as simple as rinsing out the part in the sink and then placing it back in the machine and running it again with no grounds in it so it will be rinsed thoroughly (this is important to avoid it getting clogged). Total time spent cleaning after I make espresso is about 15 seconds. If you want a latte (steamed milk + espresso), this machine also does that! You just have to hit the "clean" cycle button after you're done steaming your milk. This takes the machine about 2 minutes, and requires you put something under the steam wand to catch the water it's rinsing through it (obviously). If you are looking for the best espresso you've ever had, this is not for you. But if you simply want the option of having worthy espresso every day, it's totally comparable to affogato style espresso shots at your local coffee shop. Overall: If you have an extra 5 minutes to spare when you're wanting a latte, americano, cup of coffee, you name it, this is for you! Things to prepare for: - If you want espresso, you will need to buy whole bean espresso at a store and get it ground specifically for an espresso machine (this is just called "espresso ground", pretty simple). Your local coffee shop (you know the one) will ground it for free. - it's a bit loud. - It's on the large side, but easily fits on our small counter space. Definitely better than having 3 machines if you ask me! - It does not come with a steaming pitcher

I bought this replacement to compare against the Delonghi I bought a few weeks ago. I thought the Delonghi wasn’t working right and this machine proved it to me. This machine is wonderful! The fact that it can steam the milk before brewing the espresso is a game changer for me. The steaming function will keep going as long as there is water in the machine to get your milk hot and frothy. The simplicity of this machine is worth every penny to be able to do so many functions (pot of coffee, k-cup, espresso, latte, cappuccino). The insulated pot is great. I love not having to worry so much about a glass pot breaking and being fragile. Some reviews talked about the cheap plastic parts but I think that’s great because they are easily replaced if needed (highly doubt this though). The machine knows quickly if you are brewing a pot of coffee or if you are making espresso. It senses what parts you have attached to the machine to know what function to perform. My machine hasn’t had any issues knowing when to switch over from coffee to espresso and back again and I have tested it multiple times. The machine is loud but it’s worth it because it’s working hard getting my refrigerated milk hot and frothy. I don’t know why it was so time consuming finding this product on the market because it is awesome! There is a reason why Mr. Coffee is the OG.

It’s tough to find all in one units like this that make coffee, espresso and steam milk plus as an unexpected bonus, it even makes single coffees with K-cups. So kudos to Mr. Coffee for offering this. Price is also lower than the few alternatives. I don’t give it the full five stars because the reciprocating pump that moves the water out of the reservoir to make the coffee is absurdly loud so you can’t use it in the morning if someone is still sleeping within earshot. It makes a quite loud buzzing sound like one of the low end airless paint sprayers. That may be a result of having to keep down the parts cost to meet this price point. I would have been OK with paying another 25% to have gotten a better pump.

Absolutely Worth it. I used to have an Espresso machine, coffee pot, and keurig machine. This not only replaces all of them and saves space but it actually brews better coffee than all of them too. I was surprised how hard it was to find something that really did all 3 so that made me a bit nervous. But so far it's been great. Some of the parts do feel a bit cheap and the lack of timer is a bit annoying but not worth taking a star off for. I don't miss it like I thought i would.

Love everything about it.single cup, pick your ounces after putting on the K-cup attachment.pot of coffee ? Yep,4,6,8 or 10 cup pot.it comes with a 10 cup stainless steal thermal pot,but if all you drink is 6 cups of coffee, just hit 6 cups,no reason to make more than you need.prefer coffee shots ?it does single or double shot of coffee.hot water for hot tea or coco, done.want capachino or latte ? Hot water frother out the front right, works perfect, steaming milk or milk based flovored coffee, capachino or latte's.you can even add your sugar to the milk before steaming, have hot milk & hot melted sugar to add to your hot coffee...and if you like just a cup or pot of plain black coffee ,it does that too.it is kinda loud, sounds like low level aberiganes pipes.but it is from the high presure pump, like the ones you hear at the coffee shops, making caps or latte's,just slightly lower/quieter pitch.Regular coffee maker it isnt. But so much more.Had my machine 5 1/2 months now,i use it litterally every day, sometimes multible times a day.My favorite:10 cup pot of starbucks cinnomon coffee, with my milk, sugar and Ameretto....tired of hot coffee with cold milk or cold flavoring ?make ur pot, heat milk(in my case ,it would be Ameretto)in the steamer, perfect hot cup of coffee, not luke warm, from cold milk.?

When you take it out of the box, you must rotate the milk frothing wand counterclockwise into its external position, otherwise the coffee maker will not work (this is not noted in the manual). Despite being a little loud, it makes excellent tasting coffee, the espresso maker is pretty straightforward.

Overall, I really do like this machine, but I find the price of it to be a little expensive. This is a coffee pot that's meant to do it all — espresso shots, single cup brew, and full pot brew. It comes with everything you need, except a reusable single cup filter. Because I didn't have the single cup filter, nor do I have K-cups, or full size coffee filters, I have yet to test the full pot brew and single cup brew. I personally do not make full pots of coffee as I am the only one drinking it, but I do appreciate having the option. As long as I keep filters, it'd be perfect for if I have guests/family over and want to make a full pot of coffee for them. It's nice that I don't have to have a separate machine for that. I like that I have a machine that I will use for myself, but that can be converted to other purposes when needed. I also tend to make single cups in a french press, but again, will be nice to have the option for single cups of coffee if I'm in a rush or if I have a guest. Because I have not been able to try the single cup and full pot brewing methods, my review will focus mostly on the espresso functions of the machine. This is my third pot I've had that pulls espresso shots. My first was a very basic cheap machine. My second pot was a basic Mr. Coffee espresso machine. This one has proven to be far more advanced than my first two. This pot comes with a stainless steel espresso brew basket, a single shot brew basket filter, and a double shot brew basket filter. It also comes with a plastic tamper and a plastic storage tray that sits on top of the machine. This machine is better than beginners espresso machines, but it's obviously not as good as the high-end espresso machines. This isn't a surprise, but it's worth mentioning. However, it is a lot better than the other espresso machines I've had in the past. First, I like that you have the option to change between a single shot and double shot basket. I am not an expert on espresso, so I can't say anything about whether it pulls shots correctly (in terms of brewing temperature and pressure). But for my purposes, I think it pulls a really good espresso shot. I do find that no matter how good of a tamp I get, it still pulls my shots really fast, but they still taste good. The milk frothing wand works fairly well. My past two espresso machines didn't have a properly working frothing wand. This one works well, adding steam, but also enough pressure that it actually swirls the milk as it's meant to. It froths really well, and I've been able to make really good lattes with this machine. Though it works well for the most part, there are two issues I have found with this pot. It's a minor issue, but the water tank for this machine is on the back. Not a huge deal, but it's just really awkward. It's hard to hold because there is no top piece to hold it from, and the top cover doesn't stay attached well. Plus it's hard to put on because there's no place to hold it, and it slides into the back in a weird way. Of course, it still works, and it's fine to just fill it while it's still on the machine, but it's just annoying. The other issue I have with this pot is not super major, but sort of an issue considering its price. I don't know if this issue happens with all other settings, but I have had issues when brewing espresso shots. When I turn on the machine, it will heat up, and then it says it's ready to pull a shot. When I press the button to start, it doesn't start at all. I thought it was a fluke, but it happens every time I use the machine. I typically have to fully turn off the machine and turn it back on to get it to work. I'm not entirely sure why it happens, but it has been a constant issue since getting it. Of course, it wouldn't be a big deal, but I have qualms with a machine of this price having a fault like that. Despite these issues, I do like this machine. I've pulled many espresso shots and made many lattes with ease. It's fairly easy to use, and easy to clean. If you're looking for a mid-range machine to make espresso based drinks, this one is fairly good. It's a lot better than cheaper machines, but you won't be getting the same quality as the high-end machines that coffee shops use. However, if you like drinking espresso drinks at home, then this is a great product. I especially like that I can use it for so many things. It's nice to have one machine that does multiple things instead of individual machines for each need. It works well for my purposes, and I like that it gives me the ability to make coffee for guests however they'd like it. Overall, really good machine. It does have some slight issues and annoying aspects in its design. I will keep this machine and keep using it until it stops working. I do like it a lot, I just find it kind of expensive. If you're okay with a machine at this price point, and you want something that is capable of many brewing styles, this would be perfect for you. This machine would also make a great gift!

We had been looking for a coffee maker for a while but had not been able to find one that met all our needs and wants. Until I found this one one day while browsing for something else. It makes up to 10 cups of coffee and keeps it warm without having a hot plate under the pot. It will also make espressos and froth the milk using steam (a must for my dad). And we didn’t have to throw out all the k-cups from our Keurig that stopped working, since it had an attachment for that too. We love the new coffee maker.

I've seen some negative reviews, but so far this coffee maker works like a champ. Makes great coffee using the traditional drip coffee and carafe, KCups work great and the espresso maker. Steams milk well, so far no complaints. Frankly, I'm hoping to slowly phase out our use of KCups because of cost so this is a nice transition machine.

This is a great coffee maker for a household where there are different people who like their coffee different ways. This has a traditional coffee maker where you can brew up to 10 cups of coffee at one time, with a thermal carafe, so that the coffee stays hot for a good long time. This coffee maker also comes with an attachment that you can use to make cappuccinos, lattes, and espressos. PLUS, it comes with an attachment for K-cup pods so that you can make just one perfect cup of coffee. This coffee maker also comes with a milk frother, for lattes. The one thing that I wish this system had was a clock/timer so that you could program the machine to come on automatically in the morning. Other than that, this is a good all-around coffee maker that will satisfy just about any coffee lover in your household.

This machine takes up a lot of space but has a lot of features. Setting up the Mr. Coffee BVMC-O-CT All-in- One Occasions Specialty Pods Coffee Maker was pretty easy. The accessory caddy feels cheap though. Ok, everything else: Espresso is arduous to set up. If you're only doing it occasionally, it might be fine, but for every day it's too much. Swapping between k-cup and brewing is another ridiculous exercise in swapping equipment. It brews a little hot for my taste. It just feels cheap. Honestly, the appeal of this is that it does all the things, right? But it doesn't do any of it particularly easily... so it's more work and frustration than it's worth for me.

After two uses the steamer stopped working. won't clean itself either. Flashes "0" which indicates the water tank is empty. It's not. The settings for coffee cups is way off. Set to four get about 2 1/2 cups of product. Coffee comes out very warm, not hot.

The options available with this coffee maker are great. Works great for drip coffee, espresso and K-cups. The water reservoir is hard to access and fill. While it is removable to fill, is awkward and inconvenient. Simple solution would be to have a lighted reservoir on the side of the unit. I still like the unit even though the water reservoir is a daily frustration.

We pretty much despise this coffee maker. It does everything bad. The espresso has been thin and week. The k cup works ok but is complicated to use and results in grinds in cup. Also is not comparable with any of the three types of reusable pods I have. Drip coffee is ok but the carafe is terrible at keeping stuff hot even if you prewarm it. It doesn’t include a permanent filter. Everything coffee making process is loud because it’s an espresso maker. When it runs out of water you must refill, turn switch off then hit brew, then turn it back on then re hit brew. When making a pod hitting brew doesn’t always work. You have to wait by machine for it to warm up then hit it again. Sometimes. Sometimes it still won’t go. There’s no timer if you’re an auto coffee kind of person. Ours didn’t even come with sample filter.

This is any coffee lover's dream. It has every way to make your cup of Joe. I was bit hesitant to use this because I am unfamiliar to Mr.Coffee brand. For the price point, it seemed too good to be true. I am going to review just the performance as how coffee taste. I opened it and set it right up. I tried making espresso as my first batch. I wanted to compare the espresso to my other machine that only makes espresso. Well, I wasn't too sold because it did not extract coffee too well. It is a strong espresso but did not reach coffee's full potential. I popped in the single serve next. It brewed my k cup just like my other machine that starts with "k". compatible? yes, BUT temperature was bit underwhelming. It was bit too cold for my taste. Made a carafe next morning for breakfast. It did not taste any different. Tasted like any drip coffee I can make on any drip coffee. Although the functions worked well, it wasn't amazing. They put too much in one machine and all function lacked a bit . There is not one function I thought it was superior. This machine is ideal for someone who just started venturing coffee. I've been a coffee drinker for very long time and have had many many machines and still use about 4 different ones depending on how I want my coffee that day. This is definitely an upgrade to someone who has a drip coffee machine. It's a great option for someone who has no counter space. It looks sleek but not great in my opinion.
It works!

I read the other detailed reviews before starting to write this and kept nodding my head in agreement. The "No Timer" issue isn't a problem for me but would be a deal-breaker for the early morning caffeine impaired. There's a good User Manual and Quick Start Guide. Included is a Recipe Guide with 20 recipes for Lattes, Cappuccinos, and Espressos. You'll probably need to read and ponder the manual several times to decide how you want to make a pot of coffee, a shot of espresso, or a single serve. There's a section on Routine Cleaning, on Descaling, and on Trouble-shooting. It makes good coffee in a quantity you choose, but has a fairly large footprint if you're short on counter space. If you're willing to spend some time getting acquainted with the pot, you'll probably love it. If you want to just push one button and have coffee magically appear in your cup, you probably won't.

UPDATE: 9/29 This machine has been in use less than 2 weeks and is no longer functioning. It will not heat water or steam milk. You can’t make coffee at all because you’re brewing with cold water. I’ve reduced my review to 1 star. I received the coffee maker on September 12. It was put to use that weekend on the 15th. ———————————- Original Review: 9/20 There’s a learning curve. If you’re an impatient consumer then you may find this machine to be more effort. Because it’s an all in one, it does a remarkable amount of work. I’ve never had any luck with the duo machines (coffee/espresso) so I gave up and just went back to a coffee maker. I missed the espresso and most of all the steamer! I’m looking forward to making my London Fog beverage at home all autumn and winter long! Everything functions beautifully. The no timer isn’t an issue in my house but I can see it being a thorn for some people. Be aware, this machine isn’t a delicate flower. It’s a bit loud and takes some effort to use all the features. I received a complimentary Mr. Coffee machine to test and review.

When I first saw this I couldn’t believe my luck, a Mr. Coffee that does everything. Well almost everything but we’ll get to that. First this Machine is not that complicated and its very easy to follow the directions in the pamphlet of directions they give you with it. You can make a standard 6 to 12 oz. Thermal Carafe of Coffee or a 7” Tall Travel Mug ( not included). You could switch attachments and make K-cups, or Change again and start making Esspressos, Cappuccinos or Lattes with Milk Froths from the froth am the Milk Frother Its quite a step up from my very first Mr. Coffee Machine. Now we come to what made me give this wonderful machine one less Star. It doesn’t have a TIMER. My husband gets up at 5:00 a.m. Now one of us has to start the pot. Still the coffee is perfect.

Great! Makes coffee, expresso shots and also steams/froths milk. Easy to clean which is a plus! Can either make a pot of coffee or single serve. Comes in very professional packaging! Overall would recommend!

Ok, first let’s start out with what it is not, it is NOT a Nespresso machine! If you were thinking that k-cups and Nespresso pods are just different names for the same thing, think again. A k-cup produces a cup of plain coffee and a Nespresso pod produces a cup of espresso. So, with that in mind, here is what i found with this machine: 1. There is an old adage that when you make a machine that does everything it does nothing perfectly. That is about where I would put this machine. Does it make a pot of coffee? Yes. Does it make a k-cup? Yes, Does it make espresso? Yes. However, you will pay a price for that in the effort it takes to do each time and the moving of parts around. If you have a family where someone likes all day coffee, someone likes a cup of coffee, and someone likes espresso and they do it at different times, then this machine could be the one for you. It just takes time to setup everything for each item you want to make and then you have the cleanup for each. 2. If you have been making Expresso, you are used to the mess that is created in doing it and so it should not bother you. If, however, you have never done it, be prepared since it is not the neatest of operations. Yes, there is a machine that uses pods that is easy and has basically no cleanup, but that is NOT this machine. This one takes time to make and time to clean up after. I am willing to bet that after using it for a short period of time you will be back to the drive through to save time. 3. This is also more or less true for the k-cup function. You need to remove the other coffee items and then use the single use holder that works the same way as a espresso unit. Remove k-cup holder, insert pod, close top, reinsert holder, move selector to brew, choose size to dispense, then press brew. A couple of minutes later, it is done and do not forget to remove the holder to remove the k-cup and toss or recycle, clean the holder and then put it away. Fast,. Yes??? If you are used to lift lever, put in k-cup, close and brew, lift and it ejects into a holder, sorry, this is not that machine. Oh, one other suggestion, if you like strong coffee never set a k-cup stronger than 6 ounces or it will be watery in my opinion. 4. Brewing a pot of coffee is not too bad. Remember to fill the tank you have been using for the other functions so there is enough water!!!! Place grounds in filter in filter holder just like you would with any other brewer. Now, turn on power, move selector to brew, etc. and the coffee will brew into the insulated pot. Oh, preheat the pot with hot water if you want it to keep coffee warm for awhile. There is NO heating element here. Also, there is no timer so setting it up the night before to wake to the smell of brewing coffee is out unless you hire help to do it for you. 5. The steamer works like any other steamer. Just remember to wipe it clean after each use!! Just like you would with any other milk steamer. This machine is all plastic. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but you should know that up front. Also, while the parts organizer is nice, it is open so any dust or other things can and will get into it. so, you might want to rinse things off before using them. this is also a fairly large machine. I might also mention that if you get an error of “0” and the lights blink, it means that you have run out of water or that the unit is NOT transferring water to the main unit. To fix, either fill the tank or remove the tank, press on the bottom where the water comes out and ensure that water does flow, then put the tank back on and try again. I found that the second time cleared the error and it worked fine unless you ran out of water and let it dry up. Then you will get the water error again. For me this machine has too many negatives for me to recommend it.

This is a really nice coffee maker. But a little difficult to use. Also be mindful, it’s not just a coffee maker! But if you like warm drinks this is perfect for you. Also perfect for an office or home.

This is a review for the Mr. Coffee Occasions Coffee Maker/Thermal Carafe, Single Serve, Expressive & More with Storage Tray in Black/Chrome. Pros: 1) This came fully assembled which is GREAT. (The spare, loose parts secured with tape.) 2) The setup took only minutes and it came with a holding tray that securely held all of the adapter pieces which included the espresso grounds holder, both 1 shot and 2 shot espresso ground baskets, the espresso packer and Keurig adapter for single cups of coffee. 3) It is very versatile; it makes single cups of coffee via the Keurig adapter or a pot of coffee with the coffee filter adapter and single or double shots of espresso. Also, it has a milk frothier armature that sprays hot steam into a cup of milk (similar to a classic espresso machine) 4) It has a fairly large water reservoir but be aware, it takes a lot of water to make a full pot of coffee; so you may have to fill it frequently. 5) It can brew 1 to 10 cups of coffee. 6) It has a small folder down tray for brewing single cups or espresso into smaller mugs. 7) This one coffee maker replaces both my Keurig and my espresso maker which is wonderful. 8) After washing out the brew pot, filter holder and espresso grounds filters, I made my first pot of coffee and it was very easy. 9) It auto-recognizes the tool you are using and switches the intelligent display to the appropriate function, whether brewing a pot, K-cup or espresso. 10) Another great perk - it’s brewing area is tall enough to brew a travel mug. Cons: 1) There is no brewing timer, common among other full pot coffee makers. 2) Making an espresso is authentically time consuming. Conclusion: This is a truly an all in one coffee maker that does it all. It has replaced my Keurig and my espresso maker with an added benefit of brewing a 10-cup pot of coffee. Short of a lack of a brewing timer I still have to give this a strong thumbs up to purchasing this brewing system. For all this does the price is very reasonable. This would be a great gift for any coffee aficionado in your life.

I thought I would start with something positive as a headline. That said, this is a disappointing product for several reasons. The carafe does keep the coffee hot and the flavor of the drip comes out good, however, it does not pour very well and the only way to completely empty the carafe is to completely turn it upside down. I love espresso, but this machine produces the worst result I've ever had. It comes out barely warm. I've tried it several times with the same result. I've had water from my tap hotter than the result of this machine. I'm not sure why the drip result is hot, but not the espresso function unless you use the steam function first. Then it will come out hot enough. That seems quite wasteful of time, energy use and water, not to mention the heating element and pump. I think a good espresso machine and a drip coffee maker would make more sense.

Overall the Mr. Coffee Occassions coffee maker is a great machine. It easily tackles any task needed of it. Mr. Coffee Occassions can easily brew whole Karafes and the single-cup feature using k-cups is a fantastic option when you do not want a whole pot of coffee.

To say that this is the best coffeemaker I’ve ever used would be an understatement. I have owned several coffeemakers in the last few years, including some bad luck with a few Keurigs, and this coffeemaker is in a league of its own! Not only can you brew a large pot of coffee, but you can also use the single serving cups as well, which is amazing in itself, it it also can make expresso! Previously, I had a single serving coffeemaker that I used every day, and then a larger coffeemaker to use when family and friends come to visit. It is so convenient being able to do both from the same coffeemaker. I immediately noticed how well built this coffeemaker is. It is physically heavy, it feels very sturdy and well made. It makes me feel like it will last a while! If you are in need of a coffeemaker, I very highly this one, not only for its versatility, but also because of its impressive build quality.

This all-in-one machine makes a great tasting cup of coffee, whether you're having regular or decaf coffee or espresso. This machine is noisy (a very noticeable hum) because of the special pumping system it uses and you will need to study the manual -- but the end result is delicious, one of the best cups of coffee I've tasted -- and I've had quite a few. I now look forward to my several cups of coffee every day, whether regular or espresso with steamed milk. Being able to have different types of coffee is very convenient as well as being able to select the amount (1-2 espresso shots or 4-10 cups regular) plus the 1-cup single-serve (K-cup) option. I also like that the machine beeps when the coffee is done. The included recipe book has 20 recipes to make your favorite lattes, cappuccinos, etc. The water reservoir is detachable, which is very convenient. It is in the back of the machine but still easy to access. The K-cup and espresso functions take a little getting used to for the handle placement but once you get the hang of it, it's not difficult. I look underneath when placing which helps. When you make espresso and use a smaller cup, be sure the cup is under the 2 holes of the espresso attachment; otherwise, the coffee may miss your cup. The built-in steamer/frother is convenient versus a separate frothing machine though maybe not as frothy. It does make a loud hissing noise which I guess is normal for a steam built-in. The frother arm is easy to wipe clean versus having a separate machine and great that it has a cap. The coffee urn is insulated and keeps the coffee hot. All in all, I like this all-in-one machine despite the noise.

This machine is annoying to use, feels cheap and worst of all, has no timer. It's a pretender that looks like a goo machine, but in reality is just an average coffee maker with less usefulness than others in this price range. It makes a completely average cup of coffee as well.

This does everything... seriously... drip coffee and espresso and k-cups and milk steamer? From the image in the listing, it looks like it is the same size as a normal Mr. Coffee, which I have provided myself and my students at the college I instruct at for years. But, it is significantly bigger. I was planning on using this at home, but it won't fit under my counter cabinets. All those extra abilities take up space I just do not have in my kitchen. So it'll be going to work with me and I'll be continuing to use my French Press and Aeropress at home. May need to invest in another burr grinder for work so I can make espresso on the job from fresh beans. If you like variety in your coffee prep and have the space, I recommend trying this out. I've used k-cups in other people's machines that just do those, and they are handy, but only make one cup. Same goes for making espresso along with the noise from steaming milk. This has the handy ability of making 10 cup pot of coffee (good for myself and about 2 students for our mugs...) in one shot, or using a k-cup that produces waste as a side effect when you need a quick cup of coffee without any hassle., or pulling shots when you want something special. I'm hoping the longevity is as good as my old cheap Mr. Coffee maker, that has been going for years. Oh, and it comes with a plastic tray that fits in the top of the machine that fits the espresso single and dual shot parts (handle, inserts and tamper) along with the k-cup "single serve Portafilter". The kit I recieved did not include the options for a permanent single serve filter or the permanent basket filter, but did include that storage tray which will keep things a bit neater. The permanent filters are available seperately, but I do not see a listing for this machine on the Mr. Coffee website. Also note... no clock for automatically turning it on to brew in the morning. That slipped by me as I use the most basic brew setup at work and just flip it on when we get there. That old one has the heated base that doesn't turn off either... so can cook your pot leaving you charred coffee remains the next morning... or worse on Monday. This uses a thermal 10-cup carafe that keeps your coffee hot... so no need to be wasting electricity on a heater in the base of the machine. Great move! Anyone making espresso should also realize that this is just the machine for doing the brewing, it does not include shot glasses or a milk pitcher or cup. Or the towel for wiping the wand. Might be obvious to most, and makes sense in a way, I'm not sure how many people will step up to this machine that have never pulled a shot before. Maybe Mr. Coffee should have an accessory kit available including all those needed items as well. Or just get them elsewhere if you don't already have them. I think the espresso machine I bought decade ago at Starbucks included shot glasses and a stainless milk pitcher. Compared to espresso machines, considering the extra features, this isn't a bad deal. But also considering it is an all in one setup, I think they should consider a package including EVERYTHING you might need besides a coffee mug... heck, maybe include some nicely branded ones of those also so your customers end up being your advertising. Oh, and the recipes... that add on every manufacture feels the need to include. I'd recommend more complete recipes in the classic style with what you'll need and how long it should take. Then walk through the procedures in the recipe, don't make the consumer go hunting through each section of the manual while trying to pull a shot then froth the milk etc... maybe spend the time and effort to make a seperate recipe book that walks a newbie through the whole process start to finish with pages that won't get ruined by getting water or coffee splashed on them. Or create video guides that are linked from the manual. Just think some of this is what an established company like Mr. Coffee should be doing to compete against the oddball named lower priced competition... especially when your product is coming from the same regions. Updating to mention, the pump on this pushes the boiling water through the system unlike a conventional drip coffee maker where the act of the water boiling pushes it up and into the filter area. So it is significantly louder buzzing away compared to a conventional coffee pot, but sounds just like a Kerig or other espresso machine. This might not be a good option in our classroom during lectures unless I make a pot of coffee well before class starts.

I love this. The closest I've ever gotten to a luxury coffeemaker was a K-pod brewer that made plastic-tasting coffee and cost almost as much as this one. It was at a friend's house. I had to tell her I didn't like the coffee, when she prefaced the question with, "Come on, now, tell the truth". Truth was, it was terrible. After I said that, her husband chimed in and agreed, so back it went and back to the counter-top went the trusty old Mr. Coffee twelve-cup. I too have used a large capacity Mr. Coffee for years, alongside a small capacity Cuisinart at work, as my go-to coffeemakers for those two purposes. Until now.... This thing has so many features I don't yet understand them all. What interests me are three key features. First, make me a cup of coffee that doesn't taste as though it has burned or been overheated. Check. I'm not sure how but the temperature on this thing appears to be a little lower, such that the coffee is not as burned in flavor. Second, make an espresso when someone asks for one, which they have a tendency to do about four or five times a year. Check. Espresso was actually incredibly easy to make, just by following the instructions. It was the first thing we made. Third, froth milk so I can mix it into things. That's it. Just froth it. I won't be using it for cappuccino. I will be adding a bit of sweetener to it and making something to go into hot chocolate or sit on top of regular coffee, because I'm a little peculiar when it comes to coffee drinks. Check. It froths milk, milk and sweetener, milk and sweetener and vanilla, and does a great job. Of course, we've just gotten this, so I will continue to evaluate it over time, but, as to my initial impressions, this is the exact coffeemaker I have been looking for. There is one bonus feature, for the risk averse among us. It doesn't turn on by itself, which means it can't malfunction and turn on by itself, nor can it turn on at a time when we've forgotten it is on and left the house already. Some of us have elderly people in our homes who like to fiddle with kitchen appliances. That's fine, as long as they are supervised, but, we have had an elderly relative set a coffeemaker on a timer, when we were all going out. It turned on when we were out and it was smoldering when we got home. To be clear, this can be turned on by an elderly relative or a child, of course, but it can only be activated "right now", while they are standing in front of it. And if they have access to the kitchen, and you are anything like me, you are home to monitor them and standing in the kitchen with them. The kitchen in our home locks. No one can set this when I'm cooking, such that it looks off, when I look at it, but is actually on, making it a ticking time bomb just waiting to catch fire. I love that about this machine. It puts safety first. As to the design, I don't love a removable water carafe. I'd rather pour water in, from another container, pouring that water directly into a water container that is part of the unit, permanently. This is my only real complaint, so far. Certainly it isn't the end of the world but, I do prefer a more solid construction, such that it would be impossible for me to knock the water container off of the machine, when I don't want it to be removed. The size is also slightly larger than we like. We'd prefer it to be a little smaller, shorter with a smaller footprint on the counter. Given everything that comes with it, I'm not sure they could get it much smaller, but, if at all possible, they should make it a bit smaller. It is huge. We love it, don't get me wrong, but, again, it's huge. Overall, I highly recommend this model. I can't say I've tested any like it. Because of that, you should be aware that I am incredibly impressed in part because I've never had a home-use machine that could actually make a good espresso and correctly froth milk. Good luck in finding what will work for you and for your family. For me, this is just perfect, even given how large it is. It is intuitive to use, as to our primary uses, and makes great coffee, of the type we have come to expect from Mr. Coffee. Everyone is impressed with how not-burned the coffee tastes, which makes me wonder if my old coffeemaker may have been overdue to be replaced. Either way, this is a keeper.

Read the directions so you can understand how things come on and off of this item. I could not get the top container off at first because you have to turn the top to the right first to unlock it then you can pull the whole thing off. The coffee pot is well made and sturdy; outside stays cool with hot coffee in. There is a water resevoir in the back so you don't have to refill with every cup or pot. It will not brew if there isn't enough water for the amount that you selected. I've used it mostly for the pods and you can select 8, 8, 10, or 12 oz... my standard cup has been 8 oz. The machine begins working immediately. I mean, you press the button and 2 seconds later, its brewing your coffee. It does beep when it's done. It does brew kind of loud, I'm not sure if that's just from the water being heated or what. When you put your "utensil" on for pod/coffee/ or espresso, it shows on the display... this helps to ensure you're making the right thing. There is a container that you put on top to store those items as well; only not for the coffee pot or filter holder. Overall, it's a nice machine and makes average tasting coffee. Update: I've made double shot espressos so that I can have enough to make a cappucino. However, when I press the brew now button, it only makes enough to fill the bottom of a cup so I have to press the button 3 times to get enough. The steamer works fine.

I absolutely love this coffee maker! I have never had an all in one before and I also have never been a big experimenter in different types of coffee, but this thing is so easy to use and so fun to try out new coffees and recipes. Forget going to starbucks now, this thing can make just about anything you want. Just grab the ingredients and brew away! It recognizes when you are using the different attachments and allows you to set it to your own wants. You want 1 shot espresso? You want a k cup? You need 10 cups of coffee? You want to steam your milk? This thing does it all. Yummy results and so far works great!.

When I saw this I thought "ah--it does EVERYTHING" and I haven't been disappointed in that. It does make coffee (drips into a thermal carafe), and it does make espresso (even my normal double shot) and it froths milk and it even works for the K-cups. And all the coffee has been good. BUT....this isn't perfect. It's a bit complicated to change all the parts around (especially if you haven't had coffee yet) and there's NO timer. I'm not sure how anyone else uses a coffee machine, but if I'm not using a 1 cup version that I can just push a button and wait, I usually set up a pot the night before so I can use the smell of coffee to find my way to the kitchen for that first cup. This machine does NOT have a timer so even if I do the setup the night before, I can't have it start automatically -- ARRGH! Since the scent of coffee dripping is part of my get up in the morning alarm, I find it lacking. I can still get down to the kitchen and push the button and wait but I can't find my way without opening my eyes. That being said--the coffee is consistently good, the espresso option is VERY easy to use and having the k-cup feature is also nice. I like that I can adjust the height so I can put a cup or a mug underneath and put the coffee into the right cup. You can also make different sized pots of coffee without having the trouble of measuring the water. I do recommend getting the reusable basket filter to make it easy and I've just ordered the reusable single serve basket so I can use the k-cup option into my travel mug with my morning coffee using regular ground coffee. If this baby had a timer, it would be the best. I'm knocking off a star because of the lack of timer. Otherwise it would be a total win.

This is a quality coffee maker that allows you to make pretty much any type of coffee you desire. The functions are easy to use and so far everything has worked flawlessly. The attachments for espresso and the pods work great and easy to disassemble and clean.

So I have a $35 12 cup Mr Coffee from Walmart. I have used it for years. I also have a Keurig for one off cups. I was hoping this would replace them both, but it lacks one key feature.... no auto program! I cant schedule my coffee to start and wake up to the smell of fresh coffee brewing. My $35 Mr Coffee does this, how can a $225 Mr Coffee leave this off. I made some good espresso with this machine, and frothed some milk, which was nice. The Pod attachment worked fine also, but its not convenient like a Keurig as you have to remove the pot, the basket and lock in the pod attachment. A couple more gripes... 1). the attachment caddy is cheap plastic, and does not lock into the top of the unit. It just sits there and its easy to knock loose. 2). The water reservoir cover comes off easily, and also does not lock into place. Would be better to have a plastic flap connected I think 3). Dont try to move it with water at Max. it will spill out the back even with reservoir cover on, and if that unattached cover comes off, you have even more mess. 4). There is no Clock on it. Thats a minor grip, but its just something I am used to.

If you are expecting to just start using this appliance as you have used basic coffee makers, stop a bit, because this machine does a lot more and does not perform the way those other coffee makers work. Many of us are accustomed to coffee makers that drip hot water through grounds in a paper filter into a glass carafe with a hot plate under it, and we are so grateful for what the caffeine provides us in our time of need that we want little more than that. Well, this machine can do that for you, although it has no time function on it so you can set it up the night before, but it does not work that way. The brewing happens before the coffee lands in the carafe, which keeps the coffee warm for a while, but does not transfer heat to it. This coffee makes is designed to make coffee in various quantities, from a single cup to ten cups at a time, and one can even use the Keurig-style cups in it if one desires. It can froth milk, too. But, friend, you need to study the manual. My wife has read it through two times, and she is still making tentative forays into making beverages with it. That's not a critique of the appliance, however, but an acknowledgement that because it is a more sophisticated device, one needs to invest more time in learning its fine points. So far, we have not suffered some of the problems we have had with other Mr Coffee machines, such as the failure of the pump or looseness of the carafe, but we have been using it for only a few days. The coffee, however, has been flavorful, with less of the scorched flavor one usually associates with the last cup of a long-brewing pot. But even growing accustomed to working with it, I have to say that "ease of use" is not a feature of this appliance. My wife's getting the hang of it, but, being more of a fool, I could appreciate a bit more foolproof qualities for myself.

I purchased this Mr.Coffee all-in-one coffeemaker about two weeks ago. the packaging was packed greatly. Very well sealed. My husband use to warm his coffee up in the microwave but always craved homemade fresh coffee. Now he's able to make fresh coffee and it's super easy to make with this coffee machine. My husband loves it.
