I've used hotdog toasters before and the classic one by a different brand as it got older it required two pushes down. I wish the slot to put buns in could fit Italian sausage buns but then again they always taste better in the oven. This one is simple. For a standard hot dog set it to 5 and wait a few minutes. You know it's ready when the hot dog whistles. It's so simple a child could do it.
The only complaint is that the second lot of hot dogs I made one got stuck and I had to get it out a bit creatively but this is a great gift and far from a novelty as boiled or other ways to make hot dogs just aren't as good with indoor appliances in my opinion.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend who loves hotdogs. They taste so much better in this then they do in the microwave ! The only downside is squeezing the buns in and watching them so they don't burn! But I mean it's expected not to be perfect at the price point.We are very impressed and it gets used very often!

Got this for the kids for Christmas, they've used it every day since and totally love it.
Fits ballpark franks (fat short ones) and regular size dogs, unfortunately name brand buns don't fit as well as they are a bit more risen then off brand and get stuck popping back up.
Otherwise a great product!!

After almost 5 years, this product has come to the end of its life on the market. The secret to not burning the buns, other than having the correct kind and size is "cooking spray". Take some Pam and use SPARINGLY inside of the metal plate that the buns touch on. Hope that helps.

Bought this a week ago and have used it a number of times.Works pretty good.Takes about 4-5 minutes to cook dogs and toast buns.Unique item.

I was so excited when this came because I love hot dogs and live alone, so this was perfect. The first time I used it was the last time I could. I pressed the lever down to start cooking, and it came off in my hand. Looks cute, but very poorly made.
